ARLOUX - On May 24th, the Chairman of the Parti Populaire, Justin Macron, announced that elections for the Party Leader would be held on June 1st. Macron invited the Vague Rildanorienne Journalism Team to report the election results on all their networks.

Early on, the headquarters of the Parti Populaire were opened so that party members could vote for the next leader. The candidates in this election were Jean-Noël Bellegarde and Isabelle Lavigne Nicollier, both of whom held government positions.

From the beginning, most of the party members were going to vote for Bellegarde, as they believed it would be a good choice after André Charpentier's 19 years as party leader.

The winner was Bellegarde, which came as no surprise due to its charisma and ideas that resonated with most of the party members. Here are the results:
1st.– Jean-Noël Bellegarde with 867 votes out of 1000 (86.7% of the votes)
2nd.– Isabelle Lavigne Nicollier with 133 votes out of 1000 (13.3% of the votes)

On the same day, the Secretary General of the Party was also elected, and the winner was Kévin Figuier Noir, supported by the social democratic faction of the party. Here are the results:
1st.– Kévin Figuier Noir with 544 votes out of 1000 (54,4% of the votes)
2nd.– Alex Millet with 456 votes out of 1000 (45,6% of the votes)

So far it was an excellent victory for Bellegarde, who will be up for re-election as Royal Senator for the Royal Province of Meroix in the snap elections called for July 1st.

In a new year, King Jean-Noël IV celebrates the strength of human and civil rights in Rildanor
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

ARLOUX - The afternoon of January 1st, King Jean-Noël IV gave the Royal New Year's Address, where he celebrated the strength of human and civil rights in Rildanor. In the first part of the speech the King declared the following:
I have always had a high respect for all those who fight for civil and human rights, their fight for these rights will always be in the memory of the Rildanorians. I have always disliked the injustices, the restrictions of civil rights and the politicians who put their interests above the needs of the people. Everyone needs to have their rights to education, housing, health and not be discriminated against for exercising them. Anyone who dares to restrict or destroy the rights of his people is condemned to be an oppressor.

The King made it clear that he will not tolerate any violation of human rights on several occasions, however this time he said so in his speech to the Rildanorians. He also declared that in addition to celebrating the new year in Rildanor, January 1st will also be celebrated as the Day of Civil and Human Rights
January 1st will not only be New Year's Day, but also Human and Civil Rights Day. These two days will be very important for our nation, as they will celebrate the beginning of a new year and the importance of our civil and human rights.

So far Jean-Noël IV has gained the sympathy of the Rildanorians, because he has shown an open mind regarding issues such as equality, public health, civil rights, sexuality, among others, being one of the few Monarchs who have shown (after his grandfather and mother) publicly their best intentions for the Rildanorian people.

January 4790
60th anniversary of the attack that killed Édouard Charpentier
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Image
The presidential caravan that transported Édouard Charpentier

ARLOUX - On 30 January 4730, the then State President, Édouard Charpentier and two of his cabinet ministers were in Branovice, Deltaria at a congress on technological advances. However, Charpentier and the ministers did not know what was to come next.

The Deltaria we are talking about is not the same as today, not even the Great Empire of Deltaria had been established, the Deltaria we are talking about was the Deltaria of the Lidová Strana Deltaria, a terrorist group disguised as a political party that sought complete control of Deltaria.

At first it was not clear why this attack on Charpentier took place and it was believed that only one person carried out this attack, that being František Petřek, who was captured by Deltarian authorities 3 days after being a fugitive from the law. When Petřek was sent to Rildanor to be sentenced to prison, Rildanor's Royal Prosecutor quoted Karolina Novotná to testify if she and other members of the Lidová Strana had been part of the attack, months later it was declared that Novotná was not part of the attack and it was believed that Petřek's attack caused the dissolution of the Lidová Strana, or so it was believed until 4768.

In June 4768, the Royal Senate in conjunction with the Royal Court of Justice began an in-depth investigation into the events of 30 January 4731, appointing Felip Vernet, the Royal Prosecutor General as lead investigator in the case.

The investigations by Vernet and his team showed that Petřek did not carry out the attack on Charpentier alone, but was assisted by colleagues from his party. Vernet interrogated Petřek in August 4768, revealing that all 13 then party members planned the attack, especially revealing that he and Karolina Novotná, the party leader, were the masterminds behind the attack. This showed that Novotná and the other members of the group were involved, the evidence led the Rildanor government to call their allies and close friends to search for the members of the group, the search ended in October with the members arriving at Segre-Sabie International Airport and being tried in November 4768, they were convicted in December 4769 with the trial concluding in January 4770 confirming the conviction of the group known locally as The Lidová 13.

The events that occurred did not cause tensions between Deltaria and Rildanor, because Lidová Strana was dissolved, the former government of the Deltarian Federation (pre-Great Empire of Deltaria) condemned Lidová Strana and forbade its members to enter Deltarian soil. Currently Rildanor and Deltaria have diplomatic relations.

Mayor of Saint-Antoine seeks to unseat Jean-Noël Bellegarde in next general election
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Mayor Craig Delsarte, at a political rally in Saint-Antoine

SAINT-ANTOINE - In 4791, Craig Delsarte was elected mayor of Saint-Antoine, capital of the Royal Province of Meroix and Saint-Antoine, and will now seek to unseat the current Head of Government of Rildanor in the next general election.

Delsarte, who is part of the social democratic faction of the Parti Populaire, has officially announced his candidacy for the 4794 General Election as Royal Senator for Meroix and Saint-Antoine.

So far, Delsarte has been growing in popularity two years before the general election, political experts say that when the election is held Delsarte will unseat Jean-Noël Bellegarde, because many people think that the Delsarte administration in Saint-Antoine has been excellent and has been qualified as favorable.

Delsarte claims that he voted for Bellegarde in 4788 and that he applauded his election as President of the Government, however Bellegarde has been losing popularity since the second year of his government, which has been described as a regular government because it has been criticized by cabinet members such as Pavlo Tymoshenko Nicollier, Lucien Morel and Roxane Mallet and by Rildanorian citizens for cutting the budget of Education, Culture and Science, important columns with respect to Rildanor as a whole as a nation.

Delsarte supported the cabinet members who criticized Bellegarde, he called the move "incomprehensible" and "an aggressor of the national motto". Delsarte seeks to ensure that everyone is well educated and that Rildanor has a broad scientific scope, as well as seeking the good of the inhabitants of the nation and of Meroix and Saint-Antoine.

Currently, Delsarte has the support of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pavlo Tymoshenko Nicollier and the Minister of Science and Technology, Lucien Morel, both of whom hope that Delsarte will win the election and that he can become part of a possible cabinet. Delsarte also thanked the ministers for their support and stated that he supports the two ministers in their re-election as Royal Senators.

The next General Election is scheduled for July 1, 4794.

May 4793
Vice-President of the Government Godefroy Barreau resigns
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Image
Godefroy Barreau in April 4793

ARLOUX - The current government of Jean-Noël Bellegarde has had serious problems since its inception in July 4788, from the Budget Cut dispute and the Royal Senate's loss of confidence in Bellegarde, to Bellegarde's possible unseating in the upcoming General Election and Barreau's sudden resignation.

On the morning of 6 May 4793, Godefroy Barreau announced his resignation as Minister of Internal Affairs and Vice-President of the Government because of differences between him and Bellegarde. This is not the first time that a member of the cabinet had threatened to resign. At the beginning of the Bellegarde government, five ministers had threatened to resign from their posts because of the budget cut that began to put Bellegarde in check.

Barreau also clarified that, this Bellegarde was not the same one that occupied the Ministry of Justice, nor the Government Delegation for Civil Rights and that his mentality changed, according to the statement he gave in the Royal Senate, Barreau declared:
He wanted to get rid of everything that Charpentier had achieved and get out of his shadow, he wanted to create a better government than the one we already had, however he achieved something different, something that went wrong, it is not the same that occupied the Ministry of Justice.

In an interview with Joaco Villalba, a renowned journalist from Vague Rildanorienne, Barreau clarified the clash he had with Bellegarde that led to his resignation:
Jean-Noël and I had had different clashes, the first was, believe it or not, the budget cut of 4788, I told him it was not a good idea and in an arrogant way he said that "it was a necessary idea for everyone, and I was not going to change it for anything or anyone to prevent it". That's when I understood that he had changed too much from what he had been. The second was last year, I tried to convince him to change the budget, the same reaction happened. The third and the one that got my resignation, began with an intense discussion in which Bellegarde, in which he thought he could beat Delsarte if he made an intense campaign or simply did not let him compete, I simply told him no, however his arrogance did not allow him to say anything, and in a petulant way he told me that "if you do not want to collaborate, you are useless, I do not know why I put you in the cabinet".That was the straw that broke the camel's back, I left and immediately presented my resignation, to which I said "You failed as Head of Government", and immediately presented my resignation as Vice President of Government to the Royal Senate, however I will continue to be a Royal Senator until the end of the period, and I do not know if I will be reelected, but there is a possibility, I will continue serving Rildanor as a legislator and not in the cabinet, at least not for now.

Villalba asked Barreau if he supported Delsarte for the next General Election, to which he clarified that:
Yes, I do support Delsarte as a Royal Senator, he could bring a change to our Senate, we'll just have to wait until next year, I'm pretty sure Delsarte would win and unseat Bellegarde.

Bellegarde started his government with an 89.5% popularity rating, this year his popularity dropped to 13.3%.

Delsarte leads the electoral race in Meroix and Saint-Antoines

SAINT-ANTOINE - Last month, Godefroy Barreau, former Vice President of Government, joined some members of the cabinet in support of Craig Delsarte, Mayor of Saint-Antoine, who last year announced his candidacy for Royal Senator, officially launched his election campaign this month through United with Delsarte, a series of rallies with which he discusses his platform and proposals to be implemented when he becomes a Royal Senator.

The candidate of the social democratic faction of the Parti Populaire has been gaining popularity since his campaign announcement in July 4792. Currently, Delsarte has the support of people like Pavlo Tymoshenko Nicollier, Lucien Morel and Godefroy Barreau, who gave him their backing in the face of the disastrous government of Jean-Noël Bellegarde.

The Vague Rildanorienne Poll Team conducted a survey in Saint-Antoine on the voting intention regarding Delsarte and Bellegarde. The results gave Delsarte the victory in 3 out of 5 possible scenarios:

NOTE: The last two scenarios with former Royal Senator Elise Crevier, if she sought reelection, and Governor Juneau Montpellier, are hypothetical, as are the scenarios where both are featured.

Scenario 1 - Bellegarde vs. Delsarte:
    Delsarte - 81.1%
    Bellegarde - 19.9%
Scenario 2 - Delsarte vs. Crevier:
    Delsarte - 75.3%
    Crevier - 24.7%
Scenario 3 - Delsarte vs. Bellegarde vs. Crevier:
    Delsarte - 50.1%
    Crevier - 25.9%
    Bellegarde 24%
Scenario 4 - Bellegarde vs. Crevier (If Delsarte didn't run/Crevier ran for re-election):
    Crevier - 55.3%
    Bellegarde 44.7%
Scenario 5 - Montpellier vs. Crevier (If Montpellier ran/Crevier ran for re-election):
    Montpellier - 60.1%
    Crevier 39.1%

Another survey conducted by the Meroixian Institute of Surveys suggests that Bellegarde sank further in terms of voter turnout and popularity, resulting in the following:

Survey produced by the Institut d'études Meroixiennes (IEM)
    Delsarte - 86.7%
    Bellegarde - 13.3%
Delsarte's proposals have been well received by both the members of Parti Populaire and the residents of Meroix and Saint-Antoine (specifically the district of Saint-Antoine). If his campaign continues like this, Delsarte will win by a landslide to Bellegarde

The next General Election is scheduled for July 1, 4794.

Two months before the next General Election, Bellegarde stops attending the sessions of the Royal Senate
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Image
In the image, you can see Bellegarde's seat (the 4th in the first row) empty. It is not known why Bellegarde has carried out this action (Photo by the Public Relations Department of the Sénat Royal).

PALAIS CHARPENTIER DU SÉNAT ROYAL DE RILDANOR, ARLOUX - With two months to go before the General Elections this year, Rildanor's Head of Government has stopped attending the sessions of the Royal Senate, which has brought him criticism from his fellow senators.

In May 4792, the Mayor of Saint-Antoine, Craig Delsarte, announced his candidacy to be a Royal Senator for this year's elections, from which point he has been amassing the popularity that Jean-Noël Bellegarde once enjoyed.

It is speculated that the reason why Bellegarde has not attended the sessions is because, according to sources, Bellegarde has suffered an even greater setback among his fellow senators, many of whom believe that the Bellegarde government was disastrous from the start.

Regarding Bellegarde's non-attendance at the Royal Senate, Royal Senator Siobhan Rouselle has said she believes Bellegarde is desperate for re-election, stating the following:

Bellegarde tried to be better than Charpentier or Tymoshenko by cutting the science and education budget to spend on other things that aren't important. As for the tension that some members of the cabinet have with Bellegarde, I believe that Bellegarde earned it, by trying to sabotage the national principles of education, science, cooperation and justice, and now he thinks that with all that happened he is going to be re-elected? I think he is desperate for votes, he lost one and every single vote that supported him, he has no chance on winning the election.

Didier Macron, President of the Royal Senate, believes that Bellegarde has not attended because the tension between the Senators and the Head of Government is high, and that at any moment it could explode with consequences for Bellegarde.

To be honest, which I have always been, I think that Jean-Noël has not attended because of the tensions he has with the Senators, he has had several clashes with the Senators, insulting them and putting his ego on top of everything. The most recent encounter was with the Royal Senator for Sirdour, Djeferson de Montblanc, who in the discussion about the proposal of a new cabinet, de Montblanc told him that it was not possible to have one with only two months of a new government, to which Bellegarde responded in a very arrogant way that "he doesn't care what he thinks, and that de Montblanc had no role in the cabinet and never will". With this he earned more distrust from his fellow Senators, I think he will never be able to recover the trust he had when he begun as President of the Government.

In view of Bellegarde's situation with the Senate, King Jean-Noël IV has expressed that he is concerned with Bellegarde's change of attitude and that he has stated that the current Head of Government is in danger of being unrecognized by the Royal Senate and that he could be called to testify before the Royal Bureau, due to the way he has behaved with both the Royal Senate and his Cabinet. In addition, Jean-Noël IV has discussed with the new Coordinator of the Royal Bureau, Gwenaëlle Balzac, about the removal of Bellegarde as Commander of the Order of Rildanor. He hopes that the decision will be taken as soon as possible, for now the discussions on the subject will continue in the Palace of the Martyrs.

In Meroix and Saint-Antoine, discontent with Bellegarde has led the Meroixians to vote for Craig Delsarte, candidate of the social-democratic faction of the Parti Populaire, who in one month will end his campaign for Royal Senator (United with Delsarte) with the greatest popularity in the history of a candidate from Meroix and Saint-Antoine.

Vague Rildanorienne spoke to some of Craig Delsarte's supporters, who gave a wide range of opinions.

Joël, a local airline pilot explained the importance of voting for Delsarte and unseating Bellegarde:

It is time for someone different to take office! We think Delsarte will be better than Bellegarde. Bellegarde has been in the Royal Senate since 4775, we Meroxians believe that is time for a change! Vote him out!

Delsarte is expected to close his election campaign on June 17. So far he has been the most popular candidate for Royal Senator in Meroix and Saint-Antoine

The next General Election will take place in two months, on July 1 and the expectation of voters in Meroix and Saint-Antoine is higher than in the last years.

After many successful election rallies, Craig Delsarte ends his election campaign

SAINT-ANTOINE - Nationally, the election campaign ends on June 23, no exception for Craig Delsarte who ended his campaign on June 20 at Saint-Antoine's All-Star Dome in a massive event just days before the General Election.

On June 20th, a crowd gathered at the gates of the All-Star Dome in Saint-Antoine to witness Delsarte's end-of-campaign speech, the expectations of the voters regarding the new election are very high, the supporters of Delsarte believe that Delsarte would be the change the Meroixians need in the National Legislature.

Delsarte supporters entered the Dome to hear the candidate, who is the Meroixians' favorite for the Royal Senate. The rally began at 2:30 p.m. with Delsarte reaffirming that if he becomes a Royal Senator, he will fulfill all the promises he made to the Meroixians, and that if he were part of a cabinet he would do everything possible so that the Rildanorians would have access to research, public infrastructure, good education, among other things.

The rally ended with a standing ovation from the audience, concluding with the rally, Delsarte said a few words regarding the current government of Jean-Noël Bellegarde.

Now listen, I am very disappointed that Jean-Noël and his group, that includes Azaïs, Bittencourt, Courtet and Vernet, could have cut the budget for more important things without even consulting the ministries concerned, which made him lose the confidence of the Royal Senate, hence I support Pavlo, Lucien, Roxane, Finn who were most affected by the budget cut. I support Didier, Océane, Djeferson, Isabelle, all those Royal Senators who had to endure the indolence of Bellegarde! We must not let a Head of Government treat those who want to help him in this way, here we are looking for someone who wants to help develop our nation even further! And that is my promise, I will help Rildanor no matter what it takes and I will help the Head of Government whatever it takes to make our nation a better place! Thank you all very much, remember to vote on the 1st!

In the Dome, supporters of the social democratic candidate of the Parti Populaire could be heard chanting "Vote Him Out!" several times in reference to Jean-Noël Bellegarde, whose popularity currently stands at 7.6%.

In contrast, Jean-Noël Bellegarde's campaign close at the Simone Charpentier Theatre was empty, with very few people attending the current head of government's campaign close, giving an indication of how his government, with the exception of people like Tymoshenko Nicollier, became so unpopular that the voting expectation for Bellegarde is as low as the influx of tourists in winter in Meroix, this was said by a recognized political analyst of the Meroixian Institute of Surveys

The next General Election will be held on the 1st of the following month. Our newscast will report the results through our networks.

After a month of discussions, King Jean-Noël IV decides to remove Bellegarde as Commander of the Order of Rildanor
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

PALAIS DES MARTYRS - Last month, King Jean-Noël IV discussed with the Coordinator of the Royal Bureau, Gwenaëlle Balzac, the removal of Jean-Noël Bellegarde as Commander of the Order of Rildanor. This week, the Palais des Martyrs called Bellegarde to a session before His Most Excellent Royal Majesty regarding the removal of the honorary position.

During the session at the Palais des Martyrs , the King made it clear that the honorary position of Commander of the Order of Rildanor (COR) was for the efforts that Bellegarde made for civil rights, however Jean-Noël IV noted that Bellegarde, during his time as Head of Government, made actions that could affect civil rights such as education and health, as in Rildanor are seen as essential rights, and that this dismissed his efforts during his time as Government Delegate for Civil Rights and Minister of Justice.

The Monarch summoned some members of the Bellegarde cabinet such as Finn Montpellier and Roger Cellie, also people like Godefroy Barreau and Djeferson de Montblanc who in one way or another had run-ins with Bellegarde regarding suggestions they have made on matters of greater importance, however they were dismissed and treated in an arrogant way, especially with Bellegarde discrediting their work. The decision made by King Jean-Noël IV was to remove the Head of Government as Commander of the Order of Rildanor, to which the Monarch declared the following:

This disappointed me, Mr. Bellegarde, you did very well as Government Delegate for Civil Rights and Minister of Justice, however, I think that the actions that you have carried out have been in very bad taste and go against the Rildanorians. You sir, you will be remembered as a very controversial figure and as the worst leader of your party, you do not deserve to be Commander of the Order of Rildanor. The Commanders of the Order of Rildanor are people who respect the different changes that make our country better, propose ideas for improvement and seek solutions to the problems that threaten progress. You did that only once, the other times you failed to solve the problems around you, therefore, you are not worthy of the position.

The decision was based on the testimonies of cabinet members such as Montpelier, Cellie and Barrau and Royal Senator Djeferson de Montblanc. The decision was made by the King with the advice of the Coordinator of the Royal Bureau, Balzac. The decision became effective on June 29, two days before the July 1 General Election, in which Bellegarde participates as a candidate, however, he does not have a chance to win due to the low popularity and lack of support from part of the Royal Senate and the Parti Populaire.

It is expected that the next Royal Honors Ceremony will be between January and June of the following year, the exact date is not yet known, it is speculated that in this Ceremony Bellegarde's replacement will be named.
