In recent years, politics in Rildanor has been marked by the surprising resurgence of the House of Orléans-Vasser. The emergence of the New Canrillaise Front (Front Nouveau Canrillaise), led by Jean Baudouin d'Orléans-Vasser, has been followed by the rise of his nephew Léopold's movement Arise Rildanor (Debout la Rildanor). Commentators have remarked on the swift re-ascendance of the noble family to the upper echelons of society however it seems there could be another twist in the tale as yet another relative has assumed control of a political faction in the nation.

Jessica d'Orléans-Vasser, who is the third cousin of the aforementioned Léopold, assumed the leadership of the Aurorian People's Party (Parti Populaire Aurorienne) this month. A devout and lifelong member of the Aurorian Patriarchal Church, Jessica has stated that her motivation for founding the party was to promote the traditional values which had been rejected by the contemporary political establishment. In her address to supporters, she referred to the "disregarded masses who feel that their way of life has been totally eroded by extremist political forces of all ideologies".

Questioned about their specific policies, the APP informed this publication that they would be firmly focused on bringing faith back into mainstream society. Despite years of draconian treatment of religious believers, recent polling suggests that almost three-quarters of the population consider themselves Hosians. On economic issues, popular economist Alphonse Azéma has been designated as financial spokesperson. Azéma is well known for presenting television programmes such as Bang For Your Buck and Zinger! in which he helps ordinary families increase their efficiency financially and make better use of discounts, loyalty cards and membership schemes.

Finally, on the ongoing rivalry between her extended family, Jessica d'Orléans-Vasser has refused to provide an official comment. Nonetheless, a source close to the party leader reported that she has found the entire saga "frustrating, disappointing and embarrassing" even referring to Léopold as "a complete and utter womp" and his uncle as "a spoilt, little princess". It seems that the tarnished reputation of her prestigious family was the primary motivation for her sudden decision to enter front-line politics- Jessica had previously been a literature lecturer. It remains to be seen whether she can restore it to its former glory.

President Jean Baudouin d'Orléans-Vasser, incontrovertibly the most important of the numerous Orléans-Vasser politicians now in vogue, has promised "governance" in the run up to January's election, where some worry that the collapse of the Parti Socialiste Impérial de Rildanor [PSIdR] will mean the re-ascension of a Front Nationaliste [FN] candidate, perhaps former President Antoine Victorieux himself, at the head of an obstructionist Parti Nationaliste, 1Republique, and Front National government. The President, more and more affectionately referred to simply as "Jean Baudouin," seeks to contrast his government coalition in concert with the Parti Libéral National [PLN], the Parti Populaire Aurorienne [PPN] (run by a distant Orléans-Vasser relation) and the FN to that of the PN/1R/FN government which preceded.

"Our motto and manifesto are very simple, 'governance.' This government and the FNC offer action and progress. That's in contrast to what we see under obstructionist administrations orchestrated by the Parti Nationaliste or 1République. These are the parties which called early elections to remove our government when that government had a legitimate mandate garnered at an election with superb turnout. These are the parties of detachment and silence and inactivity. Instead, we offer 'governance.' The PLN, the FNC, the PPN, FN, these are parties who understand that Rildanor must open up - that our nation has floundered in silent isolation for too long, and that south Seleya can no longer count on Indrala to provide. We must look elsewhere, to Kazulia and to others internationally, and we must work in unity with our Canrillaise brothers and sisters in Kanjor and Alduria and Lourenne, to provide for our own paths into the future."

Asked about the FNC's decision to work alongside the Front Nationaliste, which worked with the PN and 1R to oust his previous government, Jean Baudouin was candid.

"We were not thrilled by the FN's tactics, but this government is one of practicality - we had two, three years of silent government, and the PLN and PPN worked hard to craft a working government. The FN is relegated to roles suitable to its status, and we can let bygones be bygones."

Asked about the FNC's decision to work alongside Jessica d'Orléans-Vasser's PPN when she is rumored to have called Jean Baudouin "a spoilt, little princess":

"[Jessica] has spoken to me about these rumors. They're of course incorrect and unfit to touch upon, but I'll note what I've just said - governance is more important than petty squabbles. If it were Léopold, that'd be another thing," (the President was referring to Léopold d'Orléans-Vasser, leader of the controversial Debout la Rildanor, who he's openly rumored to hate) "but Jessica is simply a liberal arts student gone a bit... Jessica's party is a serious party."

Jessica d'Orléans-Vasser, the leader of the Aurorian People's Party (Parti Populaire Aurorienne), has launched a scathing attack on her political rivals this morning. Reflecting on last month's election, she described the campaign as being "dominated by fake news". In particular, she targeted the Tweeter account @InsideRildanorPolitics for what she referred to as "malicious lies" about her political party and it members. In a now infamous tweet, the account claimed that the APP didn't truly believe in the cause of animal rights and that they were simply seeking to undercut support for the ecologically-oriented, ultraconservative party of her third cousin Léopold: Arise Rildanor (Debout la Rildanor).

Furthermore, Jessica claimed that her party's failure to gain seats was the result of an orchestrated smear campaign from other political parties. When asked why, in her view, this had happened she told reporters "it was clear that there was a certain powerful and wealthy individual who didn't enjoy their hegemony on power being disrupted by what they perceived as an artsy little girl so rather than risk the humiliation of losing their Presidency to a young female they ploughed money into derailing my campaign". In spite of the disappointing result, she said she was ready to continue her fight.

The Aurorian People's Party had formed a somewhat fragile alliance with the National Liberal Party (Parti Libéral National) and the New Canrillaise Front (Front Nouveau Canrillaise) in the National Assembly. All three parties are committed to reforming the machinery of government and seek to improve economic growth, standing in stark opposition to Rildanor's historic parties, who have been content to allow the country to gradually decline over a period decades. Yet since the elections, the relationship between Jessica and her distant uncle, the NCF's leader Jean Baudouin d'Orleans-Vasser, has rapidly declined. In a series of tweets, the recently unemployed middle-aged man referred to the young, successful academic as 'never [having] any friends and always very slow'.

In a press release made available today the Front Nouveau Canrillaise [FNC] made an open endorsement of the Parti Pragmatique Kanjor [PPK] and its presidential candidate, Colette Chaput, in the Kanjorien election scheduled for November 4237.

"The FNC is happy to endorse Colette Chaput and the PPK in Kanjor, and urges all our Canrillaise brothers and sisters to support the PPK and Mlle. Chaput in the November election. The PPK represents, in Kanjor, what we represent here, which is a strong future for the Canrillaise people."

Mlle. Chaput made a name for herself as a food tycoon and has quickly risen to popularity in Kanjor for her fiery and plain-spoken demeanor. She has repeatedly expressed interest in working more closely with Rildanor. Though the FNC controls the foreign ministry, the government has not made any official endorsement in the Kanjorien election.

The rising star was immensely pleased with the results, "today we won Sirdour, soon all of Rildanor and then the Canrillaise Empire!"

In the last elections the Arise Rildanor party rose with 5%, now attaining 12% of the seats in the National Assembly. The party's leader, Léopold Alexandre d'Orléans-Vasser was extremely pleased with the results. On election night he stated that these results already meant a great victory. "The people of Rildanor are seeing the reality. They are seeing that Rildanor without strong leadership is lost. They realize it, they feel it! Today we became the largest party in the canton of Sirdour, we beat our rivals fair and square because we showed the people what we are about. They see the threats of Yeudism, Ahmadism, globalism, immigrants and the liberal elitists like my disgraceful uncle J-B. A career politician who has never done anything else than lie, steal and oppress. It is time we unite ourselves, not just in Rildanor but in the whole Canrillaise region! One Canrillaise people under one Empire united by one strong leader! No more Yeudish fiends, no more Ahmadi rapists, no more globalist traitors, no more liberal liars but one united nation under Elyon and the Crown!"

The former army officer and businessman is becoming increasingly known for his fiery speeches and anti-outsider rhetoric. Political pundits have already spoken out, with some going as far as saying d'Orléans-Vasser is engaging in hate speech. Arise Rildanor leadership has fired back by stating that "the truth hurts". So far no party has been able to give a proper counterweight to the rising stars of Arise Rildanor. Léopold Alexandre d'Orléans-Vasser himself however has kickstarted the campaign for the next elections, running on a platform outlined in the above speech. The party has also gained the support of the billionaire media moghul Christopher Peletier, owner of over sixty newspapers, four radio channels and two tv stations as well as dozens of news websites. The largest newspapers owned by Peletier circle in the right-wing area and are expected to openly support Arise Rildanor in their quest to restore Rildanor to greatness under a strong leader.

Léopold Alexandre d'Orléans-Vasser has further refused to comment on the family squabbles. It is rumoured that he has gathered a large PR team around him to advice him on how to handle the situation with his family. He has a rather neutral opinion on his distant cousin Jessica, with whom he has had almost no contact the past few decades, yet he has had many run ins with Jean-Badouin, one of this three uncles. After a certain event many years ago the two have not seen eye to eye. In contrast to his uncle Léopold seems to be able to control his emotions in and outside the halls of the assembly. Perhaps he is the chosen leader?

In a press conference following a formal meeting with a Kazulian delegation, Foreign Minister Cyrille Rodier [Front Nouveau Canrillaise] announced that a formal "state of friendship" now exists between Kazulia and Rildanor, a step closer to alliance, which is considered an eventuality by analysts.

Kazulia and Rildanor recently agreed to support one another in their respective Security Council bids, and have previously extended overtures since the rise of the FNC and the collapse of Nationalist Party (Parti Nationaliste) and 1Republic (1République) rule. Rildanor has sought to strengthen itself in light of the withdrawal of both Kalistan and Indrala from regional affairs, and Kazulia is a rising power seeking influence abroad.

The move toward alliance comes amid growing unspoken tension between Rildanor and Baltusia, the current holders of Seat C on the Security Council. Unconfirmed reports claim that Rildanor's election committee approached Istalia, Baltusia's chief international benefactor, in the hopes of poaching their support for Seat C, given that Rildanor has long supported Istalia for Seat B. If that attempt at poaching occurred, it appears to have been unsuccessful, as the Foreign Minister's party has begun debate on a bill removing support for Istalia. When pressed on the subject of Istalia and Baltusia, the Foreign Minister called Baltusia an "Istalian puppet, with no respect for the needs of Seleya - more concerned with Majatran concerns than those of Seleya."
