100 Years Since Victorieux12 years under NationalismIt marks 102 years since the election of September 4196 where Front Nationaliste candidate François Victorieux won against the opposition. Since then, Rildanor has seen a change in its politics. However, Victorieux did serve a short term as President during the 4184 elections where he was the only presidential candidate available. It was June of 4198, 100 years ago, when François Victorieux made his first statement to the world;
Today, I am here to say to the Republic of Rildanor and to the world that today and the days after shall bring forth a new age of nationalism within Rildanor. As long as I am in power, my administration will fight for avoiding globalism, rejecting communism, free market, embracing the love of our demonym, and equality of the masses. I am aware that some are concerned about having someone with far right ideas into the highest office of the state, but I assure you that we will still fight for the equal rights of the people and the working class.
The first tax reform from the Victorieux Presidency was in June of the very next year. Marking the first legislative decision made in the first two years of the administration. It was close to the 4200 September elections. During the years of Victorieux, he kept the country's seats at the minimal 75 as he preferred a small government. The election ended, and Front Nationaliste and Parti Nationaliste have equalized in party seats. Once again, Victorieux was re-elected.
It was the start of the new year, February 4201, Rildanor's Hellen Miller won the International Golf Championships. Victorieux personally congratulated her with the win, saying;
You have not only done proud of this nation, but have proved that our people can do great things overseas.
This was only one of the major events under the Victorieux Administration during the year 4201. Lawmakers approved of embassies and consulates under the Verona Treaty. It was a unanimous vote, all 75 saying yes. A month later, one of Rildanor's controversial bills failed to pass as 1République and the National Capitalist Party say no to the New Era Proposal. The ambition for a Victorieuxist state was defeated. This bill would soon serve as the threat to the presidency the following year. The Motion of No Confidence and Early Elections were called after dissatisfaction with the Victorieux Administration. The Mouvement pour la République Party had the support of the National Capitalists, but it wasn't enough to fend off the surprising choice of Parti Nationaliste to say no, and 1République's abstinence from voting. The presidency was once again, preserved.
In June of 4204, the PN Manifesto had surprisingly passed, the National Capitalists demanding its repeal. Due to a decrease of approval with the administration, Victorieux nearly lost the September 4204 election by a one percent margin. The following year, the Front Nationaliste was pressured to delegate the exit of the Anti-Communism Treaty. The justifications of the withdrawal was due to its lack of international ratifiers. It disappointed the conservatives in the government as they did not expect such a move from the administration. More and more legislation from Parti Nationaliste succeeded to pass the National Assembly, bringing fears that they could outplay the Front Nationaliste in the next election. As a result, the Joint Conservative Cabinet Proposal of 4205 was delegated, but failed.
In August of 4206, the Movement for the Republic proposed a bill to separate the head of state position into two separate entities. The two parties, National Capitalists, and the Movement, were joined with Victorieux to limit the powers. The bill was miraculously defeated a month before the election. The September 4206 elections nearly led to the end of the Victorieux presidency as another one percent margin nearly ended his run. However, something unexpected would end his presidency. A series of legislative decisions in the month of June 4207 were all rejected except for the monopoly act. The same happened in September where this time, most of the bills were accepted except for the Blasphemy Act. In a move to preserve his presidency for as long as possible, the New Era Proposal was once again re-introduced to the National Assembly, ending with the same result as a defeat. Victorieux announced in late 4207 that he'd retire from chairing his party, not making it clear why. Silvestre David succeeded Victorieux as the presidential candidate and the chairman of the party. The last vestiges of the Victorieux presidency fell in September. Distaste towards the Front Nationaliste prevented the party to preserve their nationalist run.
For the next four years, Victorieux would experience detrimental effects to his health. Suddenly in the afternoon of July 23, 4212, Victorieux would pass away, leaving behind his legacy to his family and associates to carry on his party ambitions.
