NEW ERA OF REFORMS FOR RILDANOR

As expected Constitution of Union of Rildanor was approved in referendum. Turnout rate for ther referendum was 83%, with 73% of votes supporting new Constitution and 27% against the new constitution. The main opposition was in Sirdour and Morbanaque where the Constitution barely failed to get over 50%. Following the sucess of referendum Constitutional President Jean-Baptiste Malet has announced that early elections will be called for post of Union President and for newly created Union Assembly.

Following his inaguration Malet has announced that investigation of status of Rildanorian economy and Rildanorian armed forces will be carried out. The main purpose of the investigation is to establish how and in what way can Reconstruction begin, and how has the war affected state of armed forces. After the investigation is finished and all problems categorised he has declared that his administration will work towards fixing all of them.

Controversially he has also declared that highly deregulated market policy, which was started by Thévanet's administration as part of post-March reforms, will not be rolled back. New policies, such as lowering of corporation tax, will also be implemented as to attract foreign corporations. However these efforts are expected to meet with significant resistance from Union Assembly, where Socialists currently have 136 seats. Valentin Charbonnier, leader of Socialists, has declared that he believes the reform to be contra-productive and ineffective, and that it will only increase inequality within Rildanor.

Union Administration Reform Act, which will majorly reform ministries, has also been introduced. According to the bill all ministries will be abolished or reformed. Ministry of Internal Affairs will be reformer into Commissariat of Administration of Rildanor, which will also include other former ministries, now known as Departments, forming Department of Justice, Department of Infrastructure, or Department of Internal Intelligence. Meanwhile Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be reformed into Commissariat of Diplomacy of Rildanor, Ministry of Defense into Commissariat of Security of Rildanor, and new Commissariat of Constitution of Rildanor will be formed. Remaining ministries were either reformed into departments under commissariats of merged into Commissariat of Economy of Rildanor and it's departments. Purpose of this reform is to centralise current chaotic system into system with better bureaucracy.

If these reforms succeed Rildanor could significantly improve it's condition and start to work towards rebuilt society. However there are still problems lurking in Rildanor, such as remnants of Nationalists, or rising poverty in war-torn areas, or cold relations with Beiteynu.

MALET DENOUNCES TRIGUNIAN JUNTA


Office of Union President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have released statement by Malet regarding recent instability within Trigunian Federation.

Recently Trigunian Armed Forces have overthrown democratically elected government of Conservative Tsarist Party. Despite any ideological differences violent coup of the governmet is not acceptable answer. We will use all diplomatic channels to pressure the Junta Government to return power to Duma and organise new free and fair elections certified by World Congress Electoral Authority.

MALET LOSES EARLY ELECTIONS DURING FOREIGN VISIT

Results from elections have come in Valentine Charbonnier has won early elections with majority of 67%. The first early elections in modern Union's history, have been carefully orchestratd to be called on days when Maltet had been attending Royal Marriage between Dorvish Prince and Lourennaise Princess. Due to this Malet was unable to start proper campaign. However according to the pre-election polls he would have probably lost anyway.

Main reason behind Malet's unpopularity were his attempts at reforms, as most of populace and Union Assembly opposed and blocked them, and those who supported them considered Malet to be too weak to implement them. Another his to his popularity was his ciriticism of Trigunian Junta, which is quite popular among Rildanorians.

Meanwhile in his inaguration speech Charbonnier has outlined his vision for Rildanor. Main points of the plan are decentralisation and regulation. Charbonnier plans to reform economic policies implemented by Thévanet's post-March Coup administration. This would mean very radical refroms as Thévanet's approach to corporation's was very lax. These economic reforms will be implemented by Union Economic Reform Act. Other bill proposed by Charbonnier is Union Autonomy Act which will give much more power to the Sectors.

Overall Charbonnier's victory is victory for Rildanorian left and Rildanorian progressives as Charbonnier enjoys wide support in both populace and Union Assembly and thus can implement his own reforms.

COLLAPSE OF GCR AND CHARBONNIER'S CABINET

Thirteen months after Valentin Charbonnier's re-election for a second term in the 5315 January elections, the majority of his cabinet resigned due to ideological differences.

The main problem is Charbonnier's plan to give more autonomy to the Sectors of Rildanor. This is opposed by both Republicans and radical Socialists. Another controversial decision is the partial regulation of the economy.

Republicans oppose the autonomist plan due to their centralist stance and belief that Rildanor should be a presidential republic, and they oppose Charbonnier's economic regulations, believing instead in the free market.

Meanwhile, the majority of Socialists believe Charbonnier won't regulate the economy enough and believe Rildanor should implement a Socialist economic model. Due to these differences, the majority of Charbonnier's cabinet has announced their resignations.

After the news of the resignation reached the Republican leadership, leaders of Republicans and Socialists met to discuss the crisis. Following a few days of negotiations, they announced that GCR will be dissolved. This radical change while sudden is not unexpected, as polarisation and division in GCR have been growing since its founding.

Currently, it appears that Valentin Charbonnier will remain president until the end of his term. As he has already announced that the empty cabinet positions will be filled up with independent candidates.
Due to this Rildanorian politics will probably become more individualistic, as political candidates will be elected independently instead of being part of a party platform.

It remains to be seen how will these sudden changes affect Rildanor, however, large-scale instability is improbable, as Rildanorian politics are already quite individualistic and there do not appear to be organisations or individuals intending to found proper political parties.

POPULARITY OF ONE NATION MOVEMENT SURGES AMONGST THE BEITEYNU RELEVATIONS.

Recent polls show that more and more Rildanorians are considering voting for the One Nation political movement. While partisan politics in Rildanor have been largely irrelevant, with inviduals being guiding elements within the nation, this surge signals potential radical shift in Rildanorian politics, as voters are willing to vote for mass movements rather than invidual politicians.

One Nation describes itself as "nationalist movement with aim to radically reform Rildanor". However it has also been described by it's opponents as "far right ultranationalistic tribalistic cult". The movement appeals to Rildanorians unhappy with current state of Rildanor by supporting nationalist foreign policy, conservative social policy, and libertarian economic policy.

One of the key reasons cited to be behind the popularity rise of the movement is the general feeling frustration and stagnancy in Rildanorian society. However some experts have also linked it to another factor, the general increase in Rildanorian nationalism and anti-Yeudi sentiment following revelations regarding revelations of Beiteynuese foreign intervention.

While in other countries nationalism and dislike for Beiteynu aren't as firmly intertwined, Rildanor has had cold relationship with Beiteynu since it overreacted to rogue actions of one of sides of the Rildanorian Civil War, backstabbing the Democratic forces in the process, which have then acted appropriately in response. This Anti-Beiteynu attitude has only increased after the Vankuean intelligence revealed the true extent of true Beiteynuese imperialism and anti-democratism.

It will be seen how will the movement fare but it is probable that it will win the February elections. If this is the case then any chance of repair of Rildanorian-Beiteynuese relationship will be inadvertently destroyed, and Rildanor might proceed to align with Vanuku and Cildania against Beiteynu.

THEÓPHILE VASSEUR AND UNE NATION TO LEAD RILDANOR.


In staggering suprise the Une Nation (Luth.: One Nation) movement has gained consitutional majority of 69% of the vote, gaining 200 representatives out of the 290 attending Assemblée de l'Union (Luth.: Union Assembly). While UN wqs technically only party partaking in the elections, the 90 remaining seats were won by independent and local candidates.

In his inauguration speech as Président de l'Union (Luth.: Union President) Theóphile Vasseur outlined various aims, goals and policies of his administration. Despite having consitutional majority of 2/3rds Vasseur has stated that his administration will not be significantly rewriting the Consitution and that public will be clearly informed about any changes to it.

Further in his speech and in the following press conference he has talked about policies of his government regarding various policy areas, such as foreign policy or social policy. The various reforms proposed by Vasseur would mark radical departure from policies of previous governments, which have not significantly changed since the end of the civil war 65 years ago.

Regarding foreign policy Vasseur has declared that his administration will not try to repair relations with Beiteynu and instead will approach Cildania and Vanuku for united front against Beiteynu. Military reform will also be enacted to ensure that the Army is ready to combat any potential threat from Beiteynu. Regarding social and fiscal policy Vasseur's will be conservative and libertarian, reverting many reforms and regulations enacted after the civil war, such as right to abortion, or homosexuality in army, or ban on monopolies.

UN LOSES SEATS IN THE ASSEMBLY DESPITE ELECTORAL VICTORY.

The Vasseur Administration has once again proven it retains confidence of the people in its capabilities to govern the country. However despite retaining majority the elections the results can also be deemed as failure for Une Nation and Theóphile Vasseur, as the party has failed to maintain consitutional majority, gaining only 56% of the seats, with remaining 128 seats being won by independents. On local level the UNbhas failed to gain or retain governors in Boudigaux, Tiralpuse and Montpellier.

The main reason behind this popularity drop can be assumed to be the Vasseur Administration's failure to deliver all promised policy reforms. Vasseur has managed to reform only fiscal policy by passing the Economic Policy Act which has greatly deregulated the Rildanorian market. In areas of foreign and social policy the UN has failed to pass any significant reforms due to internal disagreements.

With disappointment with UN growing some entities have begun to offer alternatives to it's governance. The mainvand most influential amongst these is former general and current Commissaire à la Sécurité (Luth.: Commissar of Security) Maxmillien Astier who has begun to popularise Pan-Seleyanist ideas within the party. In opposition to UN as a whole there is Front Populaire de la Gauche Unie (Luth.: Popular Front of United Left), a socialist grassroots movement led by Marie-Christine Thiers, current Gouverneur de Montpellier (Luth.: Governor of Montpellier), who has begun to call for popular action against the Vasseur government.

As tensions and frustration in Rildanor mount it remains to be seen if Vasseur can firmly steer the country or if failure awaits him. Some experts have even suggested that military could once again take prominent role in Rildanorian politics and shape it's future

PROTESTS INTENSIFY ACROSS RILDANOR.

Ever since the elections in August of 5370 the Union of Rildanor was engulfed in sporadic protests organised by Front Populaire de la Gauche Unie (Luth.: Popular Front of the United Left), far-left pro-Beiteynu, and pro-Lourenne anti-Rildanorian organisation led by Marie-Christine Thiers, current Gouverneur de Montpellier (Luth.: Governor of Montpellier) and supported by foreign actors.

The protesters have demanded resignation of the Vasseur Administration and organisation of new elections, claiming that the 5370 Elections were heavily rigged by the UN. However Commissaire à la Constitution (Commissar of Consitution) Dimitri Girard has confirmed that Department of Elections of Commissariat for Consitution has failed to find any significant inconsistencies in the results.

On rally in Tiralle Thiers has given speech in which she accused Commissariat of Consitution of being biased towards the UN. However these accusations are inaccurate as the Department of Elections operates almost independently of the Commissariat of Consitution. During the rally Thiers and her followers have also called on for political and financial support from Alduria, Lourenne and Kanjor.

In case of success of FPGU Thiers plans to run for presidential office on platform of representation, regulation, and reconstruction. She also wants to repair relations with Beiteynu by apologising for the Yeudi Crisis. However this would cause Rildanor to lose international prestige, as for last few decades Rildanorian politicians have refused to apologize for proper Rildanorian response to the Yeudi Crisis.

It remains to be seen if the pro-Yeudi leftists manage to overthrow the government, however there are also rumours of split within the party between President Vasseur and Commissar Astier, opening up possibility of military coup.

SPLIT WITHIN UNE NATION: ASTIER RELEASES MAZARCHIST MANIFESTO


Rumours of split between Président de l'Union (Luth.: Union President) Theóphile Vasseur and current Commissaire à la Sécurité (Luth.: Commissar of Security) Maxmillien Astier have been confirmed when the later has released booklet titled "Mazarchist Manifesto: A Hope for Rildanor and Seleya". In the manifesto Astier outlines principles of his new ideology called Mazarchism. The most basic principle of the ideology is triad of Unity, Stability, and Security, which is considered to be the most important goal of the state. The Manifesto also states the need to abandon "the outdated concept of Canrille" for the concept of "Seleyan Continental Nation". Astier calls Canrille "ancient outdated concept supported by the Yeudi controlled half-breed third world colony of Lourenne".

The concepts stressed in the manifesto are "Unity of nation regardless ideology or ethnicity", "unprecedented level of coordination and cohesion across the Society", and "Absolute and total racial purity of the State". Mazarchism calls for coordinated totalitarian society united by race regardless of ideology or ethnicity. Racial purity is then defined as lack of "foreign non-white cultural, social and genetic characteristics in the Invidual and the Society". The manifesto also calls for unification of Seleya into one Mazarchist state.

The concept of unprecedented coordination and cohesion Astier mainly applies to Economics, where he calls for organisation of society into various Syndicates controlled by the state. According to his vision the Economy will be organised into forced monopolies which will be coordinated by the state but otherwise independent.

The manifesto declares that a Mazarchist state would be led by a sole Head of Government and Stated and Supreme Leader with title of Chief of the State. This Chief of the State shall have basically unlimited powers and shall appoint advisory body called Council of the State, which will with permission of the Chief act as legislature. Further Mazarchist state will lack any elections and media will be coordinating in few state owned and government censored medias with the country governed by sole legal party.

Gouverneur de Montpellier (Luth.: Governor of Montpellier) Marie-Christine Thiers, leader of Front Populaire de la Gauche Unie (Luth.: Popular Front of the United Left), far-left pro-Beiteynu, and pro-Lourenne anti-Rildanorian organisation has already denounced the movement, calling it "weird variant of fascism". However President Vasseur has not yet given important statement other than that Astier will remain both Commissar and member of party leadership.

The creation of such ideology is columination of rumourer split in the UN between the so called "Seleya Principle" and "Canrille Principle". The supporters of Seleya Principle, majority of whom support Astier and belong among Mazarchists, have called for abandoned of ideal of uniting the various countries of Canrille, instead supporting cause of Seleyan unification. In opposition supporters of the Canrille Principle, including President Vasseur, have supported ideal of unification of Rildanor, Lourenne, Alduria, and Kanjor, into one country of Canrille, claiming these countries have more in common then countries of Seleya.

So far the Manifesto is relatively unknown however the Mazarchist movement is already quickly picking up momentum. It is not yet clear what consequences of this movement will be however it is clear that tectonical shift is coming to Rildanor. Due to Astier's position as Commissar of Security, the possibility of him carrying out "march on Tiralle" and military coup of Vasseur Administration is more and more possible each passing week.
