Spiritual Secularist Society chooses new interim Leader.
In a surprising turn of events, the members of the Society have voted against
keeping the aging but popular Allan Theriault XI as leader of the Society at its'
Annual General meeting. By a vote of 54% to 46% Theriault, 98 years old,
just narrowly lost the routine confidence vote which led to his ouster as leader.
Theriault is said to be disappointed but will respect the decision of the members
and will fully support his replacement.
A leadership convention has been called for but the society has yet to set a date
which could be a long time off as the party has a history of giving interim leaders
a long tenure. In another surprise move the society has chosen noted radical
Diane Leblanc to be interim leader and the first female leader in the long history
of the party.
Ms. Leblanc, age 42, as a former lieutenant in the New Bendiri Militia was
responsible for the flyer compaign that led to the expansion of Society to Luthori.
She was also tried but never convicted of several church bombings in Harkonia,
bombings she proudly admits having participated in. Under the leadership of
Diane Leblanc it is expected that the New Bendiri Militia will take a much more
active interests in the affairs of the Society than they did under Mr. Theriault.
