With the upcoming elections in December between , political commentators have taken note that while traditionally, the Far Right & Right parties have formed the Monarchist Coalition, there has been a shift of the Monarchists to the left in reaction to the Far Right promoting a nationalist republic...

Previous commentators had sugguested a potential near 50/50 split in the next election between the monarchist Ultraroyalist & Social Democrats and the republican Natationalist & Christian Democrats...

However, with the recently returned Green Party, a far left party, to upset the Aldurian politics, the outcome of the election is now instead shown by polls to lead to an election of the Monarchist candidate, HRH William d'Orange-Villayn, Prince of Orange as Head of State with the Republican parties gaining a majority in the Legislature...

Once again showing the people of Alduria's support for their royal family, the majority of the citizens of Alduria elected HRH Philippe d'Orange-Villayn, Prince of Orange & Heir to the Throne of the HRE as Head of State...

In last month's elections, while the Green Party's return upset the election with the Greens becoming the largest party, the Monarchists still managed to win the popular election for Head of State...

His Royal Highness is quoted in his speech after being sworn into office as saying,

"It is our great pleasure to return once again to serve our people as Head of State, knowing full well both the popular and divine mandate are upon us. We shall endeavour to keep the good will and interests of our people in Alduria foremost in our mind,"

Green Party blocks own Colation Cabinet

In a move that stunned the political commentators in Alduria, the Green Party, currently the largest seatholding party in Alduria, blocked a coalition cabinet in which they would themselves hold all but three seats; the cabinet proposal was made of up moderate and left-leaning monarchists...

In explaination of their reasoning, the Green Party cited their historical animosities toward monarchists, however, we must conclude from this that they would rather see far-right extremists in power than a liberal and constitutional monarchy which serves the best interest of the people,

In addition, most political theorists are stating that even if they had supported the colation cabinet, it would not have meant in any way their support for the Monarchy itself, merely for that of the people of Alduria's duly elected President, who merely happens to be HRH Philippe d'Orange-Villayn, Prince of Orange...

The Social-Democrats have proposed that, as coalition cabinet talks failed, a new early election. However, such a drastic measure is unlikely to be approved by the rest of the legislature, especially the right-wing bloc, who are likely still happy with their previously constituted cabinet, as lame-duck as it may be with the majority of the seats in the National Assembly belonging to those who ascribe to more liberal ideologies...

A Royal Marriage

26 Year-old Prince Maximillian d'Orange-Villayn,

Son of the President of Alduria, HRH Crown Prince Gustave d'Orange-Villayn, Prince of Orange, and his wife, the First Lady, Archduchess Sophia von Rothringen-Traugott (aunt to the Emperor of Hulstria),

Grandson of HIM Emperor Philip III of the Holy Luthori Empire & Empress Noelle d'Olreans-Vasser & Villiers (great aunt of the current Empress of Canrille),

is set to wed Her Majesty Queen Charlotte I of House Anselm-Hutori

This will mark the second time in a bicentennial that the royal family of Hutori has intermarried with the House of Orange-Villayn, after the marriage between the daughter of King William I of House Johannan to Prince Lionel of Luthori, making Queen Sarah of Hutori the first monarch of House Orange-Hutori; Hutori's Queen Charlotte is a direct descendant of that marriage.

The marriage will create the House Orange-Villayn & Hutori as the Hutori branch of the family; with the eldest son from the marriage set to be heir to the Holy Luthori Empire, and the second heir from the marriage set to be heir to the Commonwealth of Hutori, as a solution to the concerns of those in the Commonwealth parliament opposed to a future Personal Union.

Historians note that Hutori was founded as New Orange by a Luthori pioneer, John Bekenial, and so relations between the two have remained strong throughout the millinea, and later these close relations extended between the Hutori & Aldurians as well, things are looking bright for the future.

Vonarburg family returned to power

Vonarburg family returned to power in the Republic of Alduria. After 4 years of the reign of PDC, we can note the improvement in the economy. President Vonarburg reduced the tax burden by abolishing all taxes and replacing it with a flat tax of 14%.

With 408 of the 505 seats in the National Assembly, the PDC was able to implement its program. Such a victory represents the will of the people support the Republican regime and to end any return to monarchism.

Monarchists rally despite Republican victories

While the Royal Family: Crown Prince Gustave d'Orange-Villayn & Archduchess Sophia von Rothringen-Traugott visit Luthori, Hulstria, and Hutori, after the birth of its newest members, the twins Prince Henri & Princess Helene d'Orange-Villayn et Hutori to Queen Charlotte of Hutori, and her husband Prince-Consort Maximillian of Hutori, son of the Crown Prince & Archduchess, and grandson to Emperor Philip III of Luthori & Empress-Consort, Noelle d'Orleans-Vasser et Villiers.

The Ultraroyalistes d'Alduria have reported to the Aldurian Imperial Herald that they will commit to resurging once again following the Republican takeover of the Aldurian Parliament, aiming for a resurgance in the upcoming election of November '79.

Its Secretary-General, former Chancellor of Alduria, Lord-Rev. Edward Bishop III, cited his parties commitment to the people of Alduria and their loyalty to its Monarchy, and wished the Royal Family well on their international visitation tours, which began after the Crown Prince was relieved of his duties as President of Alduria following the 'emergency' elections pushed through the Aldurian Parliament by the Republican PDC. The Lord-Reverend also expressed his disgust at the Plutocracy of the Vonarburg family disguising itself as Democracy, and also stated that, "We Aldurians will only truly be Free when we abandon our Lust for the filthy lucre of Profit, and instead turn our hearts towards The Faith," in a fiery sermon at the Chapel de Saint Luthor in Aldur City.

The former 6-term President of Alduria, Crown Prince Gustave d'Orange-Villayn is quoted by his press secretary as saying that he is grateful to the Aldurian People for giving him the opportunity to take a break from his governmental work to tour the nations of his family, and spend some much needed time with them.

Surprise in Republican-called Special Election leads to Monarchist Majority

After the Monarchist rallies, the Republicans hoped to quell the movement by calling a special election right away, which would have delayed the upcoming '79 election another four years. Instead, the move backfired. A surge in popular support for the Royalists just before the election lead to a swing with Les Ultraroyalistes d'Alduria holding with a strong majority in the Government...

Likewise, Crown Prince Gustave d'Orange-Villayn returned from his international visitation tour, after he was once again elected to the Presidency of Alduria, toppling the half-term regime of the Vonarburg family.

Plans are now underway to listen to the people's outcry to roll back the plutocratic "republican" reforms once, and reinstall the Monarchist cabinet...
