It has been reported that Feidhlim O'Reilly, one of the ceannaire and head of the navy has been found dead after a Luthorian air raid occurred over the city of Chrisalya. The raid occurred at approximately 4 in the morning, with the admiral having been asleep causing him to miss the sirens having gone off. While it is unknown why the admiral was staying at the military facility in Chrisalya, it is known that the Luthorian forces had no indication that he was staying there and that the killing was a complete fluke. This hasn't stopped resistance fighters however, with many celebrating the death of one of the pillars of the brutal regime that has taken control of our nation. Further knowledge about the rest of the junta's leadership locations has unfortunately not been found, as the SNF has begun further interference against foreign and resistance intelligence operations.

The junta has been keeping the death of O'Reilly as secret as possible, with many who hear of his demise being killed. Further reports have been received that the other junta members have begun vying for control over the late admiral's powerbase, with what few naval assets remain receiving conflicting orders and other confusing requests, which seem to be nonsensical until compared to the other junta leaders' orders. This has caused naval inefficiency, and it would now be optimal for a foreign naval power to invade.

Collapse of the Junta
August 21 5453 (Backdated)

The people of Kirlawa have been freed. Following the death of Sweeney, the final junta leader Rory Ó hÉideáin has decided to flee the nation along with his entourage of SNF officials, proving that they have seen the writing on the wall. The Junta has begun to crumble as a result of the power vacuum with many middle to higher ranking officers breaking into to open combat with each other as they vie for control of the Junta's remaining forces. This has done no good to keep troops in line however, with massive amounts of troops deserting for fear of repercussions for their actions, particularly amongst the conscripts and the more experienced veterans. Several junior officers have surrendered to oncoming forces with hopes of leniency in their sentences. As a result of the chaos insurgent cells have begun rising up and attacking the remaining Junta forces in order to expedite their collapse.

Killian Treacy, Commander of the insurgents, has called all Kilani to resist the junta in it's waning days, stating that "the junta is a dying creature on it's last breath. Still held together solely by our fear of it, we must resist and bite this beast and show it that we the people of Kirlawa are the ones who are truly the nation, and that the nation is us.". We asked Mr. Treacy for and interview, but he declined on the basis of 'being somewhat up to my neck right now'. Following all this good news, the Kirlawan Times has decide to come out of hiding to bring people the truth once again in a free and prosperous republic that awaits around the corner. All we need is our neighbours to help us build it.
