VICTORIOUS ENDING OF THE GENERAL STRIKE! THE END OF THE LIBERAL-CONSERVATIVE ALLIANCE!
Joaquín Laguna, leader of the PLD and President of Egelion, has announced the end of the alliance and the parties within them due to extreme popular malcontent with the lack of movement from the PLD

Above: Anarchist forces celebrate the victory against the PLD
Today, the unthinkable has happened once again; the Separatist Forces, led by the CNT-FAE and the PCPE, can finally declare victory against the Liberal-Conservative alliance that led the country for more than 7 terms. After the conquest of Norterra, the Caillean capital and headquarters of the Separatist movement, the government support decreased even further, reaching an all-time low of 23% and, while socialist forces only got stronger through the formation of more left-leaning parties, the PLD realized their time was at an end.
Joaquín Laguna, leader of the PLD, gave Egelion his retirement speech and declared the dissolution of the Partido Liberal Democrático, together with the Liberal-Conservative alliance. Soon after, the Alianza Conservadora decided to leave politics as well.
Melissa Semprún, General Secretary of the FAE which, coincidently, started the General Strike back in 4486 and now can safely declare an end to it, congratulated all participants from both the CNT-FAE and the PCPE and stated that "the victory achieved today was only possible through solidarity and cooperation" and it is safe to say relations between the two parties are at an all-time high. Conversations surrounding the future of Egelion are already underway and the possible implementation of the Vía Egeliana al Sindicalismo (Egelian Way to Syndicalism), which would transform the country in its entirety, while the PCPE wants to focus on the future of Caille and it's citizens.
Not all is good for Egelion, however, as plenty of progress and productivity has been lost due to the over-extended strike and backlash from right-wing sectors in the society are sure to be expected. However, as Damián Montreal, Ex-General Secretary of the FAE and founder of the party told us, "there is nothing that can stand in the way of the workers and their liberty".
It is safe to say that today a major socialist victory has been achieved, and the future seems bright for the people of Egelion.
