Metzian Party of Lodamun is formed
January 4660

Kregon: A new political party called Metzian Party of Lodamun is formed from its first National Executives at the second floor of the Kregon Bakes building.Metzian Party of Lodamun or MLP is guided by the ideals of Metzism, rationalism, scientific determinism and a newly formed idea called 'Scientific Spiritualism'.

The National Executives is a national MPL party convention that chooses its national leaders called the Crux. The structure of the MPL and Crux of MPL are currently unknown, except for the fact that it is led by a female rapper Isla Saxe.Isla Saxe is known in the local pubs of Kregon as the 'women who raps communism'.The party officials when contacted said that they will soon inform the structure of the party to the public and will release their official viewpoints in a press release soon.

There are some arguments and rumors that the so called 'Scientific Spiritualism' is just the plain old lodamese nationalism in disguise, but the party officials refuted the arguments.

Lodamun celebrates Prince-President’s Silver Jubilee as tensions rise
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
25th of May, 4661

Image
His Serene Augustness the Prince-President has called his Silver Jubilee "a humbling experience", saying he had been "touched deeply" by seeing so many people celebrating together.
In a message to the nation, he thanked all those who organised the events. "The events that I have attended to mark my Silver Jubilee have been a humbling experience," he said. "It has touched me deeply to see so many thousands of families, neighbours and friends celebrating together in such a happy atmosphere. But my family and I want to take this opportunity to offer our special thanks and appreciation to all those who have had a hand in organising these Jubilee celebrations. It has been a massive challenge, and I am sure that everyone who has enjoyed these festive occasions realises how much work has been involved." He added: "I hope that memories of all this year's happy events will brighten our lives for many years to come. I will continue to treasure and draw inspiration from the countless kindnesses shown to me here in Kregon and throughout all of Lodamun. Thank you all."

Festivities culminated in an appearance by the senior members of the princely family on the Presidendial palace balcony in front of huge crowds to watch a ceremonial guard parade. His Serene Augustness’ message was not broadcast on television and radio across much of Lodamun as the tensions between the Presidency and new private media magnates still loom high. Large supportive crowds gathered in person, however, and festive souvenirs with President’s portrait or coat of arms are a growing industry across Lodamun. The celebrations were bigger in the traditionally loyal inland areas and especially in Kregon and Golavia with coastal cities remaining noticeably quieter.

Remarkable was also a private meeting that took place between His Serene Augustness and His long-time ally Marquess Lord Frederick II Saint-Just. The relations between the two have reportedly taken a deep dive in recent years. Marquess Saint-Just has been the Prime Minister of Lodamun now for almost ten years, but the President-leaning higher echelons of Lodamese political life have allegedly been in long talks to find a replacement. Echoes of this can also be felt throughout the Lodamese religious life, with assorted Southern paganic religious leaders denonouncing Hosianism as „just accursed Lodamese nationalism with extra steps“.

Lodamun commemorates 50th anniversary of the Constitution
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
20th of February, 4673

Image
Last Tuesday the people of Lodamun celebrated the 50th Constitution day or the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Co-operative Federative Republic of Lodamun. February 15 has a unique historical significance as it was on this day in 4623 that the Constitution of Lodamun was adopted, and, thereafter, came into force on right away, on the 1st of March of the same year, marking the return of the country to its traditional localist democratic system.

The High Governor of Kregon, His Lordship Petrofelip II Paulopitrevsk Moncifer-Dauxus, led the celebrations of the Constitution Day by reading out the Preamble of the Constitution. The main function was held at the Assembly Complex in Daro. Valerio-Lorenzo Prokopius, Advisor to the High Governor, ministers of the Cabinet, Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries, officers and officials of the Princely Bureau and governmental secretariat were present on the occasion.
All institutions, including government offices, read out the Preamble of the Constitution at 11 am followed by a pledge to uphold the fundamental duties. A campaign on fundamental duties began in the Transkregonian Territories on Friday, as part of a nation-wide drive, that will culminate on March 3rd, on His Serene Augustness’s birth anniversary.

On Tuesday, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, heads of departments and heads of all police formations undertook activities in their respective offices to acknowledge the contribution of the framers of the Constitution and sensitise people regarding the exalted values and the precepts enshrined in it, an official statement said. Administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, heads of departments and heads of all police formations are advised to chalk out the monthly calendar of activities to be undertaken, an order issued said.

Foreign commentators have also gone into detail about the way the anniversary celebrations were used as a way to ease the tensions that resurfaced in Lodamese politics after the resignation of the last Prime Minister, Lord John Warwick, a controversial move that was seemingly meant to lead to an opposition-led government but never materialized, leaving Lodamun with no PM but a cabinet filled with President loyalists. As a reaction to the rumored von Daro-Vrassa opposition government, crowds faithful to His Serene Augustness organized protests and chants of “We Want Warwick!” filled the traditional pro-President heartlands.
However, as months passed and the attempts to form a government failed, the protests too died down and when the repeated attempts to arrange special elections fell flat, a new sort of political, gloating contentment set in. Pro-President media reacted with headlines like „Third year without a PM, but His Serene Augustness fits the bill!”, now using the gridlock to promote what seems to be a form of absolute monarchy, a new line in the pro-regime rhetoric that thus far had kept itself at least somewhat attached to surface-level republicanism. His Serene Augustness Himself has, reportedly, dismissed this new political line as “thoughtless extremism”, but as the recent rise of Salvagers' Autocratic Spearhead shows, these ideas might be gaining more ground.

Winds of Change: Lodamun on the Eve of its President's Ruby Jubilee
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
10th of March, 4676

Image
His Serene Augustness attending the inspection of a known Transkregonian paramilitary organization

Lodamun has witnessed the end of an era. The dissolvement of the Conservatve Party which had given the Lodamese Federative Republic more Prime Ministers than any other party combined with the rise of the Salvagers’ Autocratic Spearhead signaled the death of the Lodamese center-right. This, however, hasn’t much troubled the Princely Bureau which has now ended the six year-long extraordinary Princely government and orchestrated its replacement with a moderate, centrist one.

All the while Lodamun has inched ever so closer to His Serene Augustusness’s Ruby Jubilee. His reign has by now lasted for exactly 40 years and it is slowly starting to become hard for anyone in or outside of Lodamun to remember or even imagine what life was like before his ascension. Including the first, officially uncrowned years of the reign of his predecessor, whose Kregonian traditionalist political line His Serene Augustness more or less continued, the Princely Republic had lasted for already 54 years.

In this environment of long-entrenched para-monarchical system, national reform mostly met with failure and collapse of any rivals on the Right, the Bureau has moved towards preparations of what’s been called a „national revolution“ while foreign commentators have noted the growth virulent anti-Quedarite rhetoric coming from sometimes the very top of the presidential system. In reaction to this increasing hostility, the Hosianic voters have, as the political leanings the Conservative Party in its last years and later polling data shows, moved increasingly to support the oppositionary, anti-Presidential parties.

Lodamun’s Prince Dismas I crowned
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
22nd of May, 4683

Image
His Serene Augustness Dracomir V and his wife during the anniversary celebrations

As Lodamun honoured the passing of 150 years since the coronation of the first Prince-President, a sudden declaration was announced: His Serene Augustness Dracomir V would abdicate and leave the Presidential office to his close relative. Soon the crowds were celebrating the historic passing of the torch and the young Prince-President was crowned under the name Dismas I. The ex-Prince has revealed his plans to „travel the Lodamese countryside and see the good people“ before he’s „become too old to do so“. His reign lasted for 47 years.

The abdication coincided with another symbolic change in Lodamese politics – the establishment of the Princely Republic. The Transkregon-based hardline monarchical elements of the country were not completely content with the reinstitution of the Co-operative Republic and always saw it as more of a stepping stone. Now, 57 years later, their efforts bore fruit and Lodamun took a big step towards the centralization of monarchic power.

The foreign commentators have pointed out important differences in temperament and character between the two Presidents as Dismas I has reportedly remained a more restrained leader in his previous high offices. The general belief among foreign experts seems to be that the rule of the new Serene Augustness could be politically quieter as the Prince-President seems to be less fond of taking direct political initiative and assorted fresh dynastic questions will probably be the focus of most of His early reign.

The Princely Bureau has apparently also already loosened their grip around the main pillar of the presidential regime - the EAPP party organization - which in turn could might mean that the previously subdued paganic militant tendencies of the now released Southern wing of the party could reassert their dominance and bring the anti-natalist question back to the very center of Lodamese politics.

Privately owned cars legalized, people confused
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
22nd of August, 4684

Image
The best-kept automobile in all of Transkregonia

As a result of a major legislative surprise, the ownership of private cars became legal again first time after April 4625 when they were famously banned as part of the Prince-Presidential All-Lodamese Biking Initiative. This change in direction is thought to change very little as private cars have been banned for almost 60 years and Lodamese transportation is nowadays totally built around public transportation and more traditional animal-based locomotion. The amount of civilian driver's licenses is completely negligible (and setting up new driving schools is exceedingly difficult because of government's education budget and, as His Serene Augustness the ex-President proudly said, „with every passing year Lodamun is bravely reaching completely new levels of illiteracy“), there is no domestic car industry and all imports from foreign countries are still banned. In addition to all this, there still exists a very significant religious and environmentalist militant movement that has voiced its virulent opposition to the change and promised to use extreme violence against any hopeful car owners. Some foreign experts have predicted that the issue might be thought of (or presented) as non-partisan enough that the new Prince-President of the nation might step in and favor the reform rollbacks.

Automobiles banned again, Lodamun back on track
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
27th of December, 4692

Image
His Serene Augustness (upper left) with the matriarch of a junior branch of the dynasty and its three promising offspring

The Princely Republic has, after an 8-year pause, decided end the legality of private motor transport once again. This policy change in the otherwise quiet Lodamese political life came reportedly as a concession to the powerful rural religious groups who’ve demanded to return to enviromental friendly transportation policies since their abolishment in 4684. After the success of the policy change became clear, His Serene Augustness has moved beyond his usually apolitical facade and been uncharacteristically vocal in its support.

Foreign experts have described the change as „probably a curious interlude in the otherwise continually somnolent Lodamese political life“, claiming that „there’s no other potential signs of future excitement on the horizon“. There has, however, been some adventures on the foreign political front as the Dolgavian government declared in an inartfully expressed letter their opposition to this return to environmentalism. The Princely Bureau has conveyed its puzzlement on the appeal and its strange timing.

There should only be one religion
Or how Spaak wishes to unite the Republic
August 3, 4695

In an interview Romani Spaak, Secretary general of PNG, has expressed his wish to unite the Republic of Lodamun by prohibiting all religions and install a state religion. In his opinion, the citizens of Lodamun would benefit in supporting the republic and therefore a new religion would be installed. The religion would be about worshipping the state, and eventually the leader. But Spaak is sceptical about that second one. He wishes not to idiolize persons, because that might cause rebellion and revolution.
Spaak also mentioned that he has asked for a meeting with the Head of State to discuss his ideas.
PNG was established 7 years ago and wants to explore the possibilities of Lodamese economy and wellfare.

The Risk of Conflict Rises as Slavery is Threatened
Grönewald-on-Lindar,
14th of March, 4700

Image
His Serene Augustness and the Grand Bishop of Golavia in February 4700

The recent tensions between Union of the Gadurios and Lodamun over the question of slavery reached their boiling point a couple of months ago and resulted in Gaduri government backing down but also surprisingly put the new Lodamese government on a path that might lead them to still agree to the Gaduri demands and abolish slavery. A number of reports have started to reach the independent coastal media houses of severe grassroots pogroms taking place inland against the few Gaduri citizens and their property still left in Lodamun.

Several slaveowner’s rights organizations have already made grim statements about the future of Lodamun if it chooses to ban slavery and there have been talks of slaveowners and slavery proponents self-organizing into „syndicates“ and mounting on a campaign of civil disobedience, arguing that the people of Lodamun shouldn’t allow any governments, even their own, to overrule or atrophy their conscience. Some foreign commentators have noted the similarities of the conflict to the civil resistance against the relegalization of private automobiles decades earlier.

Some Southern religious leaders have drawn connections between the push to abolish slavery and the recent meeting between His Serene Augustness and a major Hosianic bishop, claiming that “it’s possible the Princely family has finally been put under a foreign Quadarite spell”. The Princely Bureau has refused to comment on the matter but has quietly voiced moderate concerns over the decision of government to so easily submit to foreign pressures.
