June 4863
Major electoral win, landslide victory against Republicans, proposes radical reformWorkers' Textiles journalWorkers' Textiles is back after more than 50 years of decline. The old company renown for it's socialist model of doing
business, fuss with the Malivian government and top-quality textiles has reopened it's gate this month, after the
socialist government was formed.
Background of the company: Following the slow decay of leftist ideals in Lodamun as well coupled with the disintegration
of LCP in 4792, had led to a slow but sure death in Lodamese anarchism and consequently the presence of Lodamese
companies heavily based on socialist principles. The communes have continued their life, but people had stopped to
respect the tenets of them, many capitalists buying old socialist companies and even returning in Orean and St Martin.
Alongside this, the nation switch right again, with paganist Lodamese elements still found in the South, Kregon,
alongside the tear up of the UFSR, a Union that survived past the LCP meltdown. The company has mainly resisted for
the first decade, but slowly lost power, with nation after nation no longer needing their service, ultimately ending with
the bankruptcy during the latest global economic crisis.
But all was not lost. Despite all it went through, the company was reorganized by couple unions and experts willing to
cooperate with the workers, reestablishing it and competing against the capitalist textile factories that were once of
WT. With a capital of only 500 000 LODs, the company plans to reinstate the old model of cooperatives, with loosely
decentralized operation system, that have managers democratically elected by the workers. Also a lot of effort was
put into ensuring that in the new few factories that were reopened conditions of working are safe and great, alongside
proper pay for the workers. The new project has so far showed promise, with investors interested to put money into
the new company and with the competition being won by WT against their capitalist peers, it is a matter of time till
Workers' Textiles will expand it's activity across Lodamun, offering the best textile products once again, from yarn,
to cloth, to clothing, made of best material, natural or synthetic.
Already three factories will be finished these months, all featuring latest modern technology in terms of producing,
processing textile material. Alongside this, there are also farms opened by WT that features plants like cotton, hemp
or sisal to offer raw material to be utilized in the factories, alongside animal and silk-worm farms to gather the wool,
leather and silk. Further projects are expected regarding synthetic fiber as well, with incoming deals with Endralon
and reopening of some of the oil rigs. Environmentalists of the party see this as an encroachment onto the wildlife of
Lodamun. Lodamese locals, who are known for luddism, ancient ways of living and paganism, have consequently
expressed their dismay at this possible move.
Electoral win for LCP, victory after being reconvened months before electionsThe LCP, an Old one, formed almost a century ago has won elections. The supermajority is a welcomed surprise, given
that the party was reconvened just few months before election times, with not best campaigning and still internal
organizational issues. Though despite all this, the party won over 2/3 of seats, defeating the center-right party in a
show-off. How was that possible? Here is a quick rundown:
Following collapse of the party in 4792, many things have changed. Life in Lodamun degraded significantly, the era of
Lodamese anarchism and old socialist school faded away, with Lodamun entering in a rightist era, of nationalism,
conservatism and partial deregulation. Most of this period was peaceful, showcasing only stability and qualm, one after
the tumultuous revolutionary years. What anarchists and communists have brought to Lodamun was prosperity and a
new way toward modernization, but however this good was, it came with a hyper divided culturally nation, with infights,
a civil war, fear in people's hearts. Despite the new perspectives and a strong anarchist school, it all came collapsing
down. With a move away mentality of the people, wishing for peace again, for comfort, for reunification and mostly as
well seeing the need of anarchism and syndicalism as no more needed. The dissolved LCP brought even more to this,
leaving the Left without a clear voice, with disorganized minor parties rambling to insignificance, alongside Communes
ceasing to be relevant, with people soon returning to capitalist ways, with factories beginning process of privatization.
All was good, though a decline was seen, in the new conservative Lodamun, economy soon ceased to be developing,
stabilizing, with conditions worsening by the day. Eventually, the economic crisis has rocked Terran world like never
before, thanks to Deltarian stock market melting down. Despite the nation slowly recovering, the effects of economic
collapse are still present, with workers forced to live for paltry wages once again, with discontent among minorities and
women rising once again, thanks to Republican policies that were a complete mess, as well poor economic crafted policies
and measures that led to even more unemployment, poverty and anger among workers. This brought workers again
together, banded under the flags of the new trade unions.
Under the wake of disaster, a new party, with an old history and prestige came around few months before elections in
June: the Libertarian Communist Party. With so many discontented and disgruntled voters, be them minorities, workers,
heck even the middle-class who saw the rightists too incompetent, vote turnout showed a clear preference for new way
politics. Although not all voters are far-left, the fact that a radical party won over 2/3, defeating the Republican menace.
Although this victory, the presidency ended in the hands of the Republicans after the LCP failed to nominate a president.
What are the causes for this are unknown. Either way, the impressive electoral victory for LCP shocked many, giving
hope that leftism in Lodamun is returning, stronger than ever. All these people are all banded together for a better
Lodamun. The LCP will run on a platform of radical reform, reconstruction, regaining formal power and ensuring that
the nation maintains itself prosperous.
LCP has laid out several of their plans: reinstating the Communes to former glory, regaining international respect and
economic relationships, helping industry redevelop, modernizing Lodamun as much as possible and ensuring peace and
stability for all. Work for establishing the UFSR as well large omnibus bills sent to the Presidium are a good sign that
the party will be hard-working to keep their promises for a better Lodamun.
Intellectuals form party wing, working on a new IndividualismWith the rebuilding of LCP, came again the issue of justifying socialism above all other. This time, thanks to new
aspiring young writers, the party is opened to new direction. Despite lack of proper intellectuals yet, as well the various
factions, it is to be waited what will be the philosophy of LCP, following over decades of inactivity. Lodamese anarchism
as well old materialist Socialism are seen outdated and in need of new ideas to support a new system, other than
through economy. Thus many have started work. The most prominent, and current chairman of LCP, Nataniel Pop is
presenting the possibility of Communism and Ethics to be combined, taking inspiration from New Wave Individualism
linked to the short lived Rutanian party
"Rutanian Individualist Movement".
Although much results are yet to be seen, possibility of competing philosophical schools is likely among the members
of the reborn LCP. The elites of the past laid ground for the materialist school, meanwhile a new idealist school is
growing in popularity, as it sees the need of a political system through different lens, pandering to a new public and
showing a new way of doing politics, yet to be truly tested.
Communes reformed again with even more vigorous syndicalist vibesThe renown Andalayan Communes or better said the United Communes of Orean and St Martin have returned to
former glory. Plagued by disinterest, capitalist encroachment, death of the revolutionary spirit and disbandment of
militias have all led to a new culture with new waves of looking at life and to the difficulties, alongside a unique
school of Lodamese Anarchism have all collapsed until now. Not long ago, ruins of what was a glorious past were
observable: decolored flags, abandoned buildings that were the old committees of the anarchists, bookshelves in
libraries filled with past literature and works of intellectuals, often barriers or people still wearing or even selling
militia uniforms, that same olive and revolutionary cap reckoning to a forgotten past where people have taken to
the streets and brought the change they wanted to see.
However things are more hopeful and less dimmer now. With the new wave of leftism sweeping Lodamun, with ever
increasing support for socialism once again, establishment of UFSR and a new philosophical school, people have again
started to rebuild their past, with many workers seizing what is theirs, by an internal agreement that was never
repealed, just disgustingly ignored by the authorities. The new Lodamese anarchism though is much calmer and less
revolutionary than the past one, it is also more split between various far left groups, unlike in the past. The new
Communes, how they renamed, are no longer bound to Orean or St Martin respectively, but those cities still carry on
the legacy of the past. The transition was smooth, with capitalists once again upset that this was allowed to go on,
having to see their businesses democratically organized by workers in a loose decentralized manner that showed good
results once again. Lucian Lewis, a prominent writer and activist has gained popularity among Oreanese, being voted
as first Commissar in almost a century, representing local populace and anarchist values, he stated that " This is a
breath of new fresh air, of a better future for all of us, no longer we have to endure humiliation and the boot of the
bosses. We can finally work on the change we want to see, just like almost a century ago". 4862-3 represented thus
the turning point in Lodamese politics, as well Andalayan Communes, who are fervent in showing their greatness once
again.
Singer Cazzy to be send to FOMAT VII, with his new hit "If the Heavens ever did speak"Past months, and years, saw a slow but sure rebirth of artistic and cultural life of Lodamun, of musical bands renown
for good music and artists and writers renown for their interesting ideas. One of this, is the new band The Lotus, a
prominent musical band formed of 4 people, with great ambitions and with lot of work to do, just being close of
publishing their first album called "What is freedom?". The main singer, Daniel Wood on his real name, has announced
participation alongside with his bandmembers, with a new hit, "If the Heavens ever did speak". The new song is a
great hit among Lodamese, especially younger rebellious teenagers, disgusted and revolted by the rightist policies and
culture dominating Lodamun for decades. Side by side with internal strife and need for reform, the song is both a
welcomed one and highly controversial, expressing with metaphors the message for acceptance, showing the hatred
of religions against LGBT-Q community. This song, said Wood (Cazzy as his stage nickname), was needed to remind
the world of atrocities and hypocrisy of people that in the name of religious beliefs commit horrific crimes and often
infringe on the liberties of others. The band is renown for progressive themes and for spreading the message of love
and acceptance as a counterculture to the highly conservative Lodamun.
The band won nomination for FOMAT VII from the government after a local competition was held among several bands,
the committee deciding that The Lotus shall be put forward to compete at FOMAT, despite great names, such as Eclipse
running for nomination as well. After an interesting local show that was for free and had million of viewers and
participants, the band The Lotus was nominated with their new controversial hit. Whether they will win or not is
not known, but the members of the band expressed gratitude and are happy that at worst they will remain with an
incredible experience and have opportunity to spread the message of peace and love to the entire world. The band
has published a link to the new hit on their site, showcasing the song used for their FOMAT entry:
