Aldurian legislature votes for war against Beiteynu
The Coalition of Progressive Aldurians (CPA) that received 730,845 votes (1.14%) in the last election convinced the Aldurian legislature to go to war against Beiteynu.
The CPA was founded in July 4070 by Chloé and Charlotte Doyle.
The CPA is a member of the World Peace Society whose main tenets are "that War is NOT good for anybody, that War is destructive to life, economies, and environment, that there is NO bad peace".
Meanwhile the CPA sponsored several bills (1, 2, 3, 4) aimed at reducing Alduria's military.

Posted: Sun Aug 28, 2016 6:33 pm- Hawu Mumenhes Presidential Press Secretary Fuzo Mabena-Asón debriefed reporters on a read-out of President Hermelinda Shelby's telephone calls today to Democratic League Chairwoman Berhane Susnios and Grand Vizier Kharakhte Wasie to congratulate them on their party's recent victory in Cobura's national elections. Mabena-Asón said that the President also congratulated the Coburan people on their return to democracy and their victory in the Tokundi conflict which the men and women of Hawu share in celebrating. Asked if Hawu forces would be withdrawing from Cobura now that the country has returned to democracy, Mabena-Asón said that the status of Hawu forces in the theater would be resolved along with all other outstanding matters in peace negotiations between the President's administration and the Coburan government, and that those matters would include prosecution of coup-leader and regicide mastermind former Field Marshal Etshosh Banemes and his chief associates, and the transfer of power in the Silvanje Selo metropolitan area. In response to questions regarding the wisdom of relinquishing a military base in such a strategically important region, Mr. Mabena-Asón said that the status of the Silvanje Selo naval installation would be determined by the Coburan people after peace negotiations between the two powers have concluded. Feburary 4081 [Sharba, Cobura] - As expected the relatively new Democratic League swept the 4081 election in a landslide. The party won all 75 available seats in the Assembly of National Salvation and has a adopted an ambitious agenda now that they controll all branches of government. Chairwoman Susnios surprisingly turned down the premiership for the position of Regent and has appointed Kharakhte Wasie as the Grand Vizier instead. However, power remains mostly in the hands of Susnios as Wasie seems to be more of a figurehead.
The Democratic League under Ms. Susnios and Mr. Wasie has expressed its desire for political and social reform to bring Cobura back to democracy and has already brought several refrom bills to a vote in the Assembly. The new administration has given millions of Coburans hope for the first time in several decades. A return to more prosperous times now seems possible. The country was delighted to hear that bringing Field Marshal Etshosh Banemes to justice and a peace agreement with Hawu Mumunhes was at the top of the DL's agenda.
