Prime Minister Hanne Halldorson underscored the importance of the Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (WDEA-Hutori Free Trade
Agreement) in strengthening the Kazulian-Hutori relationship. "Hutori has no better friend, ally, or partner than Kazulia,"
Halldorson told reporters during a media briefing prior to her departure to Bekenial. "We have the longest, most peaceful, and
the mutually beneficial relationship between any two countries in the history of the world. Simply put, if trade between Hutori
and the Kazulia is a bad idea, then there are no good ideas. The sum of our trade is essentially balanced. This is and will
continue to be ‘win-win.’" Whilst the two nations share no physical common border (not even within the arctic sphere), the two
countries share a deep, complex history. This history is marked by ups and downs; by war and cooperation; by competition and
collaboration. Today’s Kazulia-Hutori economic relationship, for example, dwarfs where the relationship stood centuries prior.
Kazulian exports to Hutori increased from 40 billion to more than 200 billion, an increase of 478 percent. Imports from Hutori
increased from 40 billion 300 billion, an increase of 637 percent. Kazulian trade with Hutori is not just larger than its trade
with all but two countries in the world—Lourenne and Dorvik—but it is also qualitatively different. Complex,
cross-border/trans-oceanic supply chains have become the norm in a growing number of industries. More than 40 percent of the
value-added in Hutorian exports to Kazulia is of Kazulian origin, in stark contrast with the 24 percent in Dorvish exports to
Kazulia—second highest—and the less than 4 percent in Lourennais exports to Kazulia. Hutori has been among the top three markets
from Kazulian exports, once existing as the most favoured market for Kazulian exports, however, amidst the advent of the WDEA and
the decline of the Hutorian economy in prior decades, said "most favoured market" status has shifted to Lourenne, who was the
only nation capable of picking up the slack left by the Hutorian economy during its decline.
Prime Minister Halldorson is currently in Bekenial to meet with her Hutorian counterpart, Prime Minister Rebecca Dawson to
discuss increasing Hutorian exports into the WDEA. Halldorson (who was an economist before becoming Prime Minister), noted that
she wanted to exist in a world whereby Hutori would return to its position as Kazulia's largest trading partner and the most
preferred market for Kazulian exports and investment. Concurrently, and as mentioned prior, Lourenne is Kazulia's largest trading
partner and the most preferred market for Kazulian exports and investment, mainly due to its involvement in the WDEA and the fact
that Lourenne was the only nation capable of plugging the gap left by the Hutori following its economic decline. With the
Hutorian making a significant recovery, underneath stable conservative and liberal governments, Halldorson stated that the
possibility of Hutori returning to its position is becoming a reality. Prime Minister Halldorson is in Bekenial, Hutori with
Minister of Trade and Industry Katriina Kankkunen. Minister Kankkunen's presence represents the Kazulian business community.
Minister Kankkunen stated that she had great intentions on seeing a truly global Hutori. Hutori's economic re-opening has also
been accompanied by political openings with far-reaching implications for the U.S.-Mexico relationship. In the global arena, as
Hutori is becoming more engaged, it has come to straddle a number of divides. Not only is Hutori part of both Northern and
Western Hemispheres—economically and politically—it occupies a unique space among the world’s developed and developing economies.
It is a founding member of the Four Economies (FE/4E) alongside Kazulia, Dorvik and Lourenne; and is returning to its commitments
to the Northern Defence Integrated Command (NORDIC). In recognising that Hutori is prepared to take its renewed relationship with
Kazulia to another level, Foreign Minister Linda Rasmussen stated she intends on "doing her part" by: Reaffirm commitment to
engaging Hutorian counterparts on the full spectrum of global issues that the two countries will face in the coming years,
including global economic and financial management, climate change, and global security issues, etc.
In the arena of business, a strengthened relationship with Hutori through strengthened trade via the WDEA-Hutori Free Trade
Agreement enables Kazulian energy companies to enter the Hutorian petrochemicals industry and vice-versa. Concurrently, Gasstrien
has been itching to construct 3 LNG trains in the Northern Hemisphere (outside of Kazulia) to coincide with its aggressive
expansion. Governor of Kazulsk Bank Dr Karianne Rosdahl alongside Minister of Finance Karoline Berrefjord stated that the
government would be breaking up the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund into the Critical Investment and Stabilisation
Fund (CISF) and the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund - Global (CISF-G). According to Berrefjord, the CISF on to finance
the potential budget deficits and minimise increases in government borrowing and would not be touched by the government. The
Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund - Global would be mainly focused on investments with the intention of obtaining
quantitative returns. This means the government intentions of using the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund - Global to
invest in foreign nations/companies as a means of gaining a return. Dr Rosdahl stated that both the CISF and the CISF-G would be
managed by Kazulsk Bank Asset Management. According to Dr Rosdahl, the CISF stands at $960 billion (60% of 1.6 Trillion) whilst
the CISF-G stands at $650 billion. The Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund - Global is expected to be used by the
government to pour investment into the recovering Hutorian economy. Whilst Berrefjord did not accompany Halldorson to Hutori as
she was appointed as Acting Prime Minister in Halldorson's absence, she stated that the CISF-G would be the primary driver of the
Kazulian FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) into the Hutorian economy alongside the private sector.
