In, what was, quite unexpected move, chairwoman of the non-governmental republican organisation, Kirsti Braaten announced the formation of the "political wing" of the organisation, or talking properly, a political party. Disappointed by the lack of representation in the Storting, republicans decided to made a risky, yet move, to try their best in the upcoming elections next year in April.

Republican Left Party is the supposed name of the future political project of Braaten, directly reflecting Braaten team's views and ideas. When asked, why they wouldn't join Solidarity, Braaten replied that "there is no proper confirmation Solidarity will support and embrace our ideas". "We approve and support Solidarity's umbrella of the left representation, but we want a movement, which will be focused more on something we support and want", - she added. RVP, however, embraces the same economical ideas as Solidarity, hence the "left" part in the party's name. "That's why we are republicans in first place - we want equality and social justice for our people. Monarchy is not the solution, it's a problem". Regarding future political cooperation, Braaten added that she suspects RVP will be "an outcast" among monarchist party, and will be probably the least wanted coalition partner, but "there's no going back, we're gonna do what we want to do, using the instruments that we have and will be given after the elections".

Solidarity Sweeps the Storting in Snap November Elections

Skalm, 5393 - In a surprise breakthrough, Solidarity comes out of the snap November election not only entering the Storting for the first time but carrying a majority 108 seats of the 180. The party won a majority in all Fylke except Agatha, wildly surpassing all expectations even among party activists. Addressing supports on election night, co-leaders Arnhild Dahler and Lars Tovik reiterated Solidarity’s core values of social justice, environmentalism and community activism while promising to a pragmatic approach to governance and stable, progressive change to Kazulia.

Dahler, who had been previously named the party’s candidate to Statsminister, was quick to form her ministry of the intergenerational expertise and idealism that characterizes Solidarity.

In her mandate letters to Asbjørn Evenstad, the new Finance Minister, and Kjellaug Morck, the new Minister of Trade and Industry, Dahler outlines Solidarity’s economic priorities in investing in the social economy and circular economy. Notably, Dahler mandates Evenstad to conduct an economic update to the nations budget and financial state within the mandate.

Focus on Green Mobility and Urbanism

However, it is the mandate letters to the new Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Ruth Thoresen, and the new Minister of Environment and Tourism, Sebastian Melberg, where Solidarity indicates its greatest ambition in this term. Dahler mandates the two to enact a comprehensive reform to the community planning system, touching land use, transportation and environmental planning. Further, Dahler indicates a key priority will be to expand public transit infrastructure and housing in Kazulia.

Review of nuclear energy projects, Studies to come

In the wake of the nearly-passed and controversial plans to create 3 new nuclear power plants, Dahler treads carefully in the mandate letters, asking for a review of past studies on the project. Solidarity further mandates the Minister of Science and Technology, Herman Birkeland to study the energy needs of Kazulia and possible solutions to achieve a low-carbon energy transition.

No Constitutional Reforms

The mandate letter to Lars Torvik who will be taking the position of Minister of Justice notably lacked any mandate to reform the nation’s institutions in terms of the monarchy or the Storting.
Reacting to reporters questioning this apparent absence, Minister Torvik stated, in reference to the upstart Republican Left Party which also entered the Storting following the November elections, “We were elected to deliver results to Kazulians on shared economic growth and the ecological transition. In this election we had an opportunity to exchange with everyday Kazulians on their concerns. Never during my door to door was the monarchy brought up. Kazulians are worried about the state of the environment and the economy. In this mandate, we are going to focus on issues that matter to Kazulians.”

Rounding out the Dahler Ministry includes Rakel Vennerod, former spokesperson of Kazulmarks Bondelag (Kazulia Union of Agricultural Producers), as Minister of Food and Agriculture.

April 4th 5393

Liberty and Justice (Rettferdighet og frihet) suffered another electoral defeat after trying to rebrand itself. In fact the coalition with the Liberal-Conservatives was seen as a major red flag and now the party did not gain any seats and is now in 3rd place nationally with only 21 seats. Julia Brandvold has been seen as part of the reason why the party didn't collapse completely with her popularity being partially what kept the party afloat, however the situation remains dire.

In a few short years Liberty and Justice went from having stable governments constantly to being a minor political party losing support across Kazulia. Brandvold blamed part of the problem on Kazulia's "need for change" and truthfully said that "we aren't providing the change they need right now". The party however has remained committed to her leadership with the call for early elections not being her or the party's idea, in fact Brandvold and the Liberty and Justice voted against early elections trying to keep the Conservative coalition intact. She spoke to reporters after the election saying

It is clear that we are not what Kazulians want right now. We need to revitalize the party and bring back the trust of the people. Solidarity is doing things we aren't and this is a problem if we want to win once again. We aren't providing change right now and I hope I can change that. Soon we will be revitalizing this party and hopefully bring back the support of the Kazulian people at the same time. It is imperative that we listen and take to heart what the people are saying and I am here to listen and do just that.

The party has been humbled, Brandvold has a much more mellow tone than she had before the election and she has begun to change the party sending it more towards the center. At the end of the day it is yet to be determined whether this will do anything but time will tell what will happen to the party going forward.

Kazulia's Right Wing Party Rettferdighet og frihet (Liberty and Justice) has announced it will be disbanding following several election defeats.

Julia Brandvold the leader of the Liberty and Justice announced in a letter saying that they will be supporting the Liberal Conservatives in the next election saying

It is clear that Kazulia is tired of Liberty and Justice as a party. We will be consolidating the Kazulian Right flank in an attempt to unify the Conservative voters under one banner. It has been a pleasure of this party and for me to serve Kazulia all this time and I will continue to support what is right from the sidelines in the future.

Thank You

With this the end of a the Liberty and Justice Party in Kazulia the end of an era...

Queen Sofia of Kazulia is inviting foreign noble ladies to attend the ball she is hosting in honor of the state visit of the new Queen of Dolgava.

This is seen as a way to find a suitable match for her son and heir who has been known as the party prince who has dated models, actresses and other celeberties while his mother now think he should find a wife. She will hope for a royal princess as daugther in law.

Government Renews Envelop for Public Transit Projects
Skalm, Dreton - 5406
The Solidarity-Liberal Conservative government has renewed its fund for major public transportation projects in Kazulia. The renewed envelop covers six eligible projects for which construction will take place between 5406 and 5416.

“We're proud to announce the funding of a number of crucial public transit projects in Kazulia today. We're delivering to get Kazulians moving, in a manner that is affordable and ecological.” stated the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Anja Rudd.

The fund finances the construction of mass transit projects within Kazulia’s urban centres. A variety of transit modes are eligible for financing, including bus rapid transit, tramway, LRT, automated light metro and traditional heavy metro projects.

“The six projects selected were amongst the most advanced in the planning stages and showed to be the most promising and cost-effective in delivering real improvements to the mobility of Kazulians” said Rudd in a statement. The projects are located in Hent, Flindar and Agatha.

Funded Transit Projects
Birkehus Bus Rapid Transit Line (5411)
Suonenpua Bus Rapid Transit Line 2 (5411)
Nederstrup Automated Light Metro Line 2 (5415)
Högahättan Light Rail Transit Line 2 (5413)
Folland Metro Line (5416)
Alakoski Tramway Line (5412)

The 5406-5416 Public Transit Program follows the Advancing Public Transit program, launched in 5396, which lead to the completion of 8 transit projects, most recently being the line 3 of the Skalm Metro (see table below).

Constructed Projects Financed with the Advancing Public Transit Program
Skalm Metro Line 3 (5406)
Nederstrup Automated Light Metro Line 1 (5405)
Högahättan Light Rail Transit Line 1 (5404)
Tromhalsen Light Rail Transit Line (5404)
Honningvanger Tramway Line (5403)
Hundby Tramway Line (5403)
Iisalkola Bus Rapid Transit Line (5402)
Suonenpua Bus Rapid Transit Line (5402)

“We’re building off the success of the Advancing Public Transit program. We gained crucial experience and expertise in the challenges of implementing a major urban project like that of a new mass transit line. This new program, while less ambitious, strategically contributes to meeting the mobility needs of Kazulians.” Explained Rudd.

Notably, three projects represent additional lines to the networks of Suonenpua, Nederstrup and Högahättan.

“The procurement of rolling stock in Kazulia has proven particularly challenging. With eight transit projects, we found ourselves in a situation of internal competition with international manufacturers. Our government will be working on a sustainable solution to this challenge in the medium term.”
