Stormspike rocket launches aerospace satellites into orbit
Space Exploration Directorate launched aerospace monitoring system into orbit using Stormspike rocket.
13th December, 4350

The first satellite in the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate's space programme was launched earlier this morning from Kelvon. The recently developed Stormspike rocket, carried the multi-billion dollar Global Aerospace Monitoring Systems (GAMS). The satellite has begun transmitting signals to the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate and the Advanced Defence Research Agency. The GAMS system, according to information from the Northern Defence Integrated Command, is expected to provide the organisation with 24/7 monitoring of the aerospace in the northern hemisphere and constant tracking of aircraft within the northern hemisphere in collaboration with radar systems scattered throughout the northern hemisphere, mainly in NORDIC nations. GAMS and Stormspike will be a key element in defence in the coming years. The highly accurate tracking system means air traffic can be monitored with unprecedented precision and and constant tracking of aircraft as they enter the northern hemisphere. The innovation through GAMS could be viewed as a step further in NORDIC's initiative towards securing the northern hemisphere underneath an umbrella of security.

It has been considered by the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate to launch three separate satellites into orbit over the coming five years in-order to expand the system's reach to the southern hemisphere. Although the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate has been barred from being involved in defence programmes, the directorate has stated that once the satellite, coined Torstein Westgard DD-7 (after the famous explorer), broadcasts its signal the military can hone in on its capabilities. Using technology similar to Torstein Westgard DD-7, the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate intends on constructing a satellite to be utilised for the observation of terra. According to initial proposals eight of these earth observation satellites are to be launched into orbit within the next 10-12 years.

Developmental Bank invests 12 Billion KKR into agribusiness in Barmenistan
Kazulian Developmental Bank invest 12 Billion Krona into Barmenistani agribusiness to boost nation's economy.
13th December, 4350

The Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund, has announced a 12 Billion Krona investment into agricultural development in Barmenistan with the aims of promoting arable agricultural growth and production. The investment, which enabled a total capital raise of 15 Billion Krona, will assist the nation in introducing new ideas towards the nation's agricultural sector, which it demands on extremely for revenue due to the nation's fertile lands. The CISF has invested the money into the Agricultural and Industrial Company of Kathuristan. During the nation's periods of instability and uncertainty, the company has experienced a decline in revenue growth and productivity. Due to the nation's growing population, increasing demands and extreme amount of consumption, the Barmenistani agricultural sector, according to information from the Department of Food and Agriculture, will need 30 percent more food and 35 percent more energy in-order to meet the demands of its growing population. In a similar manner if the demand in not met it could place the nation's economy in an uneasy position.

State Secretary for Food and Agriculture, Mikko Karppinen stressed on the importance of investment into agriculture. He cited that the Agricultural and Industrial Company of Kathuristan was in a strong position as it sought to capitalise on the demand for food. According to Karppinen, the Kazulian agricultural sector, although stable, is not as profitable as the Barmenistani agricultural sector. He stated that the government should be looking to nations such as Barmenistan and Dundorf, whose agricultural sectors have potential for development. Soltinn, Kazulia's largest agricultural company, said that it intends on investing around 34 million Krona over the next 20 years and also intends on assisting the Agricultural and Industrial Company of Kathuristan in implementing sustainable agricultural practices. President of the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund, Markus Johnsrud has called on the Kingdom of Vanuku to become involved and invest into Barmenistan. Mr. Johnsrud stated that talks had been initiated with the Barmenistani government on the creation of a credit system for the nation's farmers and promoting increased rights for small hold farmers, whom Johnsrud acknowledged as being the driving force of the local agricultural sector.

Kazulian Armed Forces forms rapid reaction force to respond to regional instances
Amid increase in tensions within regional sphere, Kazulian Armed Forces forms rapid reaction for to respond to regional occurrences
Image

2nd December, 4352.

On a background of rising tensions within the region, Minister of Defence Ranveig Fadness, announced the formation of a 10,000 strong rapid reaction force in an effort to enable the armed forces to respond and in some cases defuse situations. Fadness stated that she aimed at priming the reaction force to be able to deploy to a flash point within the region within 12 hours. It will be supported by air and sea forces as well as special operations units, and two more land brigades on standby in the event of a major crisis. Altogether, 20,000 troops of the Kazulian Armed Forces will be assigned to bolster the nation's response to instances within the region. According to the Department of Defence, Command and Control Centres are expected to be positioned in Lourenne, where around 30 commanders will serve as command and control units, which would help coordinate any deployment of the reaction force force, as well as training.

Tensions in Northern Dovani, New Alduria and Bijani have created the impetus for the formation of the rapid reaction force by the Kazulian Armed Forces. Coined the Joint Rapid Reaction Task Force, it is expected that Lourennais troops will be integrated into the reaction force in order to operate alongside the Kazulian Armed Forces during deployments. Although there has been talk of a possible rotation system to be introduced, the Department of Defence is yet to confirm this information. The reaction force will be built on units of the Home Guard, Kazulia's own rapid reaction force. The Home Guard has been primed to response to instance on the nation's borders within minutes to hours. Through intense training and constant readiness exercises, the Home Guard maintains one of the fastest mobilisation and deployment times in the world with it being able to mobilise around 50-100,000 troops in less than 12 hours.

It is expected that the Home Guard will train their Lourennais counterparts on increasing their mobilisation and response time to a degree that would allow it to transition easily into the Northern Council's Joint Headquarters and the reaction force in question.

Security Bureau dismantles Dranish espionage ring.
Security Bureau arrests 5 accused agents in Skalm metropolis of espionage against state.
2nd February, 4353

The Security Bureau arrested 5 persons on espionage charges, claiming that they spent years in the nation taking on fake identities and trying to ferret out intelligence about Kazulian government policy and secrets between government officials and dranish politicians. The raid conducted by the Security Bureau and the Federal Police climaxed the on-going investigation with respect to the unauthorised transfer of government information to a source within the Dranish government. Counter-intelligence sources have claimed that a confession from former Minister of Defence Stian Almli, enabled the Bureau to seek out a wider conspiracy of an espionage ring within the nation by Dranland's leading intelligence agency, the Nine Tails Agency. The operation, coined "the Severance Programme" aimed at obtaining information from Kazulian sources with the intention of possibly destabilising the nation. Director of the Security Bureau's Counter-Intelligence Department, stated that the espionage ring had been compromised in-full and an investigation into sources in Dranland is being opened.

In accordance the Espionage Convictions Act, the arrest persons could face up to 15 years imprisonment under espionage charges and/or life imprisonment if the Security Bureau and the Federal Police decide to introduce charges under the Counter-Terrorism and Internal Security Act. As it stands the Department of Domestic Affairs has authorised the execution of raids throughout the nation in response to the arrests. In response to the arrests, the Director of the Central Committee for Intelligence and Special Operations, warned the Dranish Government of further operations where it pertains to espionage against the Federal Republic. The government has introduced sanctions on the Dranish Government for (1) its procurement of nuclear weapons and (2) espionage against the Federal Republic. According to an official from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the national travel ban on Dranland will remain and all diplomatic ties between our nations will be severed with immediate effect.

Kazulia begins work on Skjǫldr-3
Government authorises work on Skjǫldr-3 defence system.
11th February, 4354

Pennington-Reid and Viserby Systems have obtained government approval to begin work on the Project 63 in what would be the third iteration of the Skjǫldr family of missile defence systems. Chairman of the Defence Procurement Organisation, Oliver Albertsen announced that the government, when it initially presented the proposal to the idea to Pennington-Reid and Viserby System, assessed the vectors of the nation's increased involvement with the Northern Council and NORDIC. To this end, the proposal was brought to Pennington-Reid and Viserby Systems, the two companies responsible for the development of the Skjǫldr-1 and Skjǫldr-2 air defence systems, with the aims of improving the system's range, ability to track and target and subsequently destroy units. Albertsen stated that the improvement of the Skjǫldr platform will mean that the state will be a step ahead of threats to aerospace defence. Director of Pennington-Reid's Research and Development Department, Edvard Pettersson, stated that the modernisation of the Skjǫldr-1 system will also be taken into consideration by the two companies as there have been calls within the armed forces to improve the system's tracking mechanism as there exists minor issues where it pertains to its ability to its automated detection, tracking and locking mechanism.

The armed forces employs the Skjǫldr-1 air defence system along its borders with Northern Dovani, Dankuk, Hulstria and the White Ocean mainly due to its long-range capabilities. The Skjǫldr-2 is mainly deployed within major cities and other strategic locations mainly due to its short-ranged capabilities. According to information from an insider from within the Department of Defence, Skjǫldr-1 system and its long-range capabilities, can reach into Northern Dovani, Dankuk and Hulstria. Sgt. Per Johannesson, within the Kazulian Army Aerospace Defence Corps cited that due to the long-range capability of the Skjǫldr-1 system, although it was extremely effective in close-range (as is any missile defence system), there existed issues in target tracking and locking. According to sources within the Defence Industry, Asvald Gruppen which usually worked closely with Pennington-Reid and Viserby Systems was not asked to partake in both the modernisation and the development programme for the simple reason that the government has employed the company to work on the modernisation of the Annette-class aircraft carriers anti-ship missile system through the introduction of an improved version of the Dovani-2 anti-ship missile.

Lourennais, Kazulian Joint exercise hones effectiveness
Lourenne and Kazulia conduct joint military exercise with aims of honing combat effectivenvess

11th February, 4354

A massive joint military exercise between the Federal Republic of Kazulia and the United Canrillaise States of Lourenne was recently launched. The two week long exercise, consisting of three small sub-ordinate exercises, involves 25,000 troops and thousands of military equipment from both nations. The exercise, which Kazuian and Lourennais officials formally launched near Eggther, is billed as a test of cooperation between allied commands and troops in responding to military, chemical and cyber threats. Coordinated by Southern Command, the exercise includes 14,000 troops from Kazulia and 11,000 troops from Lourenne with their respective equipment. The exercise, according to officials from the Department of Defence, is expected to jump-start both military cooperation and professionalism between the respective armies of Kazulia and Lourenne.

Information disclosed to the general public as to the operations expected within Exercise Blue Mountain show a significant push in the direct of combined arms. According to statement made by the Defence Department, the exercise will be divided in three core sub-ordinate exercises: Exercise Winter Moon, Exercise Subnautic and Exercise Hurricane, with each exercise focusing on a branch of the respective nations' armies. Exercise Winter Moon according to information given by the Office of the Chief of Defence, will mainly focus on cold-weather warfare. It seeks to advance both military's skill and familiarity with various cold-weather warfare tactics such as mounted movement, dismounted movement and ski warfare, with all Kazulian soldiers being trained in mounted movement and ski warfare during their initial entry into the defence forces' ranks. The exercise also acts as a training session for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Lourenne in order to become accustom with the training styles of the Kazulian Armed Forces and further develop them to become accustom to the techniques of the Northern Council.

Exercise Subnautic will mainly focus on surface warfare, carrier operations and submarine warfare. The surface warfare portion of the exercise will emphasise on the strategies of interdiction and sea control, pooling the capabilities of the surface warfare vessels of both nations' navies such as the acclaimed Torgersen-class and Édouard-Tellefsen class frigates . The carrier operations portion of the exercise is expected to take place on the KNS-Annette aircraft carriers and on the KNS-Ingrid amphibious assault ship and will mainly focus on search and rescue operations and combined marine infantry tactics. Finally the submarine warfare portion of the exercise will focus on practising and learning several submarine warfare disciplines. Surveillance and information gathering and Protection of task forces and merchant shipping are a few of the disciplines to be both learnt and practised in the exercise.

Finally Exercise Cyclone will focus on air combat manoeuvring, airborne troops, close air support and aerial superiority operations. Throughout the numerous military exercises previously conducted by the armed forces, the air-force although it has participate in most of the exercises not much emphasis has been placed on aerial tactics and a development of skill within the air-force. The air-force, due to previous exercises and experiences in combat, has become masters air superiority operations and close air support operations. It is expected that the exercise will be a learning experience for both the Kazulian Air-Force and the Lourennais Air-Force as both nations intend on learning tactics from each other as to further professionalism and experience in the extremely dangerous yet crucial field. The exercise is expect to utilise the full array of capabilities and equipment used by the air-force from electronic warfare to airborne early warning and control.

Apart from the exercise promoting experience and tactics by the respective nations' armies, the umbrella objective of the exercise is to rebuild cooperation and friendship between the armies of Lourenne and Kazulia, nations who have been extremely close allies since the reformation of the two nations' internal politics.

Kazulian Ambassador returning home
Image
Former Ambassador to Dankuk David Røen on his way to meet Prime minister Jonas Helgemoen

Early this morning, former Ambassador David Røen arrived at the Kjøle/Flaten Memorial Airport. Røen has been Kazulia's Ambassador in Dankuk for the last 5 years, but was asked last week to return home after the August Parliament approved the Foreign Ministry decision to bring him home.

This decision did not come as a major surprise when the parliament in February with a majority voted for the sanction against Dankuk to be valid.

The Defense Department has also asked this man after a parliamentary resolution to strengthen Kazulia's border with Dankuk.

Ambassador Røen did not want to give a comment to the press before meeting with the Prime Minister.

Kazulia's Embassy in Dankuk will not be closed but now will be ruled by a Chargé d'Affaires.

However, many suggest that these are only temporary solutions.

SESO director warns Indrala and Dankuk about recklessness
SESO director comes out to warn Indrala and Dankuk that organisation will not ignore their actions.
3rd March, 4357

The Director of the Central Committee for Intelligence and Special Operations stated that he had established correspondence between the government in Tian'an and Iglesia Mayor and has sent a message to various high ranking commanders in the respective armed forces warning them that Skalm would hold both nations accountable for a surge in dissidence and instability within the region. Claus Westergaard, who has been a staunch opponent to the development of hostility between Dankuk and Indrala, said that he had spoken to General Fu Guanglie, Chief of Defence of the Indralan Armed Forces and Prince Yeong Tae Kyo, General of the Dankukin Imperial Military on the implications and subsequent consequence of the two nation's actions where it pertained to offsetting the balance in the region. Westergaard stated that it was clear to the organisation that the rift between the two nations is clear on the premise of influence within the region. As a former foreign policy analytical chief, he expressed extreme dissatisfaction at the attempts of both nations to destabilise each other.

Reports of cybernetic activity aimed against the Dankukin government originating from Indrala and vice-versa have been reported however, Director of the Government Communications Service said reports have not been confirmed by the service as being factual. Indralan state media stated that the nation's military had conducted military manoeuvres near the Dankukin mainland with the intention of "destabilising the Dankukin government". Westergaard warned the Ministry of State Security that further clandestine operations on their part will have serious implications and would warrant a heavy handed response from the Central Committee. "The fact that the Indralan and Dankukin governments are openly making threatening advances onto each other highlights the reckless and incompetent nature of their actions", Westergaard told members of the media.

In response to the actions of the Indralan Armed Forces in the North Anantonese Sea, Naval Command has stated that the Regional Response Task Force had been sent to intercept naval vessels, force submarines from the two nations operating in the area to surface and subsequently order either their return to their home port or to increase their distances from each other. Commander of the Northern Defence Integrated Command, Lt. General Sverre Michaelsen, stated that they intend on monitoring the movements of Indralan and Dankukin aircraft in the region, citing their recklessness could potentially spark a conflict within the region. Director Westergaard stated that the Defence Intelligence and Security Organisation, according to information from its Director, Rear Admiral Torben Lauridsen, would be monitoring the situation closely as time develops. With tensions rising, the Federal Republic moves to take control of the situation and remind the two nations to respect the balance of peace within the region.

Kazulia hits Dankuk with sanctions for anti-Kazulian slander
Sanctions move to freeze assets of Dranish citizens with accounts in Kazulian financial institutions; Bars Kazulians from conducting business with nation.
2nd November, 4358

The Kazulian government has imposed economic sanctions on the governing leadership of Dankuk and other business industries within the nation in response to the growing anti-Kazulian sentiment being peddled by the Dankukin government. The Dankukin government openly promoted a song known as "Death to Imperialist Aggressors", an indirect comment to the Kazulian government to "stay out of Dovanian Affairs". Recently, the Prime Minister, the President, High-ranking members within the Imperial Conservative Party and the Conservative Party were placed onto a growing list of persons whom the Financial Intelligence Service target for sanctions which aim to freeze their assets which are under Kazulian jurisdiction and subsequently ban individuals, groups and/or organisations from engaging in business with said individuals and their respective organisations. The Foreign Assets Management Authority warned that the sanctions can be expanded to freeze the assets of all Dankukin citizens with assets within Kazulian financial institutions.
Tord Oddvarson, State Secretary of Finance wrote:It is clear that the Dankukin government intends on peddling anti-Kazulian sentiments throughout their nation's population. By sanctioning the Dankukin government we make it clear to them that we do not intend on allowing these sentiments to grow and our support for the sentiment within Dankuk that seeks regional peace.

Due to the fact that the Dankukin government is not in compliance with the Offshore Accounts Taxation Act, Kazulian financial institutions and other Kazulian withholding agents will both withhold 30 per cent on certain payments to foreign entities that do not comply with OATA and report information about certain non-financial foreign entities. This would mean that foreign exchange between Kazulian and Dankukin financial institutions could be non-existent and sanctions now being imposed, it could possibly bring financial interaction between Kazulian and Dankukin financial institutions to an end. An official from within the Department of Foreign Affairs stated that the department had begun work on deporting Dankukin citizens from the nation whom have connections to the incumbent regime in Dankuk, citing their presence within the nation is a violation of the still imposed travel ban.

Government orders additional Z-35's for Navy
Naval Modernisation Programme introduces procurement of additional Z-35's

2nd November, 4358

Kazulia intends on purchasing 50 an additional 50 Z-35 stealth fighters from the Zardic Government as apart of the government's attempts to modernise the nation's naval aviation capabilities. According to the Defence Procurement Organisation, it had been identified that with the navy's enhanced capabilities through the Queen-Annette class aircraft carriers, an additional number of aircraft would have to be introduced in-order to ensure that the naval aviation sect is capable of operating at peak effectiveness during times of combat or during intense operations. The DPO highlighted the navy's extensive testing of their current fleet of 56 Z-35's, citing that they had been pushed to their limited with their capabilities means tested and improvements to the model proposed to the Zardic Government. Although a naval variant of the AV-13 "Fiskeørn" coined the AV-13N, Naval Command has gravitated towards the Z-35 because of its STOVL (short take-off and vertical landing) capabilities. The current structure the aircraft carriers KFS-Annette and KFS-Skalm show a heavy reliance of the ski-jump system, one which was introduced on the Ingrid-class amphibious assault ships.

The aircraft's stealth capabilities allows it to evade most radar systems currently in possession of various nations. With extensive experience in combat due to the fact that the Kazulia Navy has utilised their Z-35 fleet during most major conflicts involving the nation, an expansion to the programme could possibly see the air-force adopt the aircraft as a means of replacing its ageing HF-16 multi-role fighters. Currently, the Z-35 makes up the combat wings of the Ingrid-class amphibious assault ships, with small amounts being placed onto the Queen Annette-class aircraft carriers, thus hinting that the expansion of the programme could have also been triggered by the lack of a sustainable number of the Z-35s for the aircraft carrier fleets. Information released from the Defence Procurement Organisation cited that the cost of procuring the units would be around 6.1 Billion Krona ($9.13 Billion ZAR) and would bring the current fleet to about 106.

Kazulian Navy accepts amphibious assault ships
Navy accepts additional amphibious assault ships from recently merged company.

The Amphibious Assault Ships, KFS-Arenheim and KFS-Hammarskjöld posterior to their sea trials.
25th April, 4360

The amphibious assault ships KFS-Arenheim and KFS-Hammarskjöld has been welcomed into the existing fleet of Ingrid-class amphibious assault ships posterior to their delivery by the now merged Pennington-Reid (formerly Asvald Gruppen, Pennington-Reid and Viserby System). The commissioning of the two vessels was held in the presence of President Marie-Sofie Lundgren, Prime Minister Helene Kristiansen and Defence Minister Ranveig Fadness where Inspector-General of the Kazulian Navy, Rear Admiral Bjørnar Andreasen commissioned the amphibious assault ships on behalf of the navy and its subordinate divisions. The vessels will be added to the existing fleet of amphibious assault ships underneath the Ingrid-class. According to information provided by Pennington-Reid, the Arenheim and the Hammarskjöld had been given serious upgrades compared to the older vessels in their class, the Ingrid and the Arvid. With a modified landing deck specially made for extensive use by the navy's wings of Z-35's and future defence plans proposed by Pennington-Reid and other companies.

Similar to the other vessels within its class, the Arenheim and the Hammarskjöld will be able to land 2,000 armed personnel in helicopters and water craft, complete with vehicles, supplies and ammunition as it is designed to handle combat situations and humanitarian emergencies, and has a flight deck eight storeys above the water. With the procurement of an additional two amphibious assault ships, the Navy intends on increasing its devotion to humanitarian operations throughout the region and the wider world. Expansions to the medical bays of the amphibious assault ships had been made to accommodate for use in humanitarian operations. Although the medical bays within the Ingrid and Arvid have the capacity to be use in humanitarian operations, the bays of the Arenheim and the Hammarskjöld are larger, thus enabling it to accommodate for larger numbers of individuals in low supply situations. It is believed that the acquisition of the Arenheim and the Hammarskjöld came as the Armed Forces works to reorganise and increase the effectiveness of its logistical systems.

As the armed forces being previously aimed at total defence, it's shift towards expeditionary operations comes at a cost as logistical supply trains have to be established and modernised in order to cope with the hardships of overseas operations. Although the nation possess one of the fastest mobilisation times in the world with respect to its regional response, international deployments are shamming mainly due to the slow logistical operations. The army's acquisition of logistical supply vehicles, transport helicopters and the air-force's acquisition of additional HC-130s from the Hutorian Government. With respect to the modernisation of the KFS-Ingrid and the KFS-Arvid, Pennington-Reid has stated that it intends on making provisions for a possible expansion of the vessel's cargo hold for expanded accommodations for increased logistics.

25th April, 4360

Exercise Melting Tundra has commenced on Arenheim Island, as both Kazulia and Lourenne exercise cold weather warfare tactics. The fifteen day exercise, involving some 10,000 troops and accompanying equipment has been labelled by many as a move which will bring the two nations closer militarily, and subsequently introduce Lourenne completely into the Northern Council. Brigadier Kolbjørn Vennerod who is the presiding officer of the exercise stated that the exercise is of good intention. He further stated that the external nations should not take the exercise as an attempt to prompt an offensive reaction, nor should it taken as a provocative stance against them. He insisted that the exercise had nothing to do with the on-going tensions in the region, citing the fact that both nations frequently held exercises together.

The exercise launched by the Kazulian Army represents the second largest exercise to be conducted on Arenheim with the first being Exercise Arctic Lion '45. It is expected to include five thousand troops from the Lourennais Land Component and five thousand troops from the Kazulian Army. Arthur Haestad, a defence analyst at the Trond Henrichsen Institute for International Affairs said: "In Kazulia we see the exercise as guise for greater cooperation, militarily between our country and Lourenne. This is the first of many joint military exercise with various nations which are to be expected in the future when one takes into consideration, the Minister of Defence's policy and how his Ministry along with the Chief of Defence intend on bringing several of our allies under one massive military exercise called Titanoboa 4390.
