Right-Wing 'Kazulmark First Party' Arises

A new right-wing party has arisen in Kazulia, led by Åshild Haraldsen - a conservative activist and avowed nationalist. With plans to roll out a manifesto soon - said to include economic, justice and social reform - the party could be Kazulia's own populist movement. Haraldsen, who has made a name for herself among right-wing circles, has attacked what she called 'a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the right', while attacking the 'generally uninspired, centrist of leftist positions of all of our recent governments'.

The KFP, as it styles itself, has already came forward in supporting stricter abortion laws, more devolution and stricter laws regarding immigration - which Haraldsen particularly attacked in an article on her website, decrying the current immigration policy as 'an open-door which is making working people less employable and allowing disreputables to come into Kazulmark and leech off of our system'. These views are considered fractious and highly controversial, but Haraldsen has responded to calls of racism by saying 'it's true what I say'.

Kazulmark First Wins Seats In The Stortinget

Despite being very new on the political scene, Kazulmark First has won 21 seats in the Stortinget, nearly winning the popular vote in the state of Hent and getting 4.34% of the popular vote - over 1.7 million votes in total. Running only in the states of Kelvon and Hent, though receiving thousands of write-in votes in the other states, the party managed to get a disproportionate number of seats, winning 8.4% of the seats in the Stortinget compared to only 4.4% of the vote nationally. Plans to run in other states in the next elections are confirmed by the party.

The party's leader hailed the election results as 'a strong start for our party', while noting that it was 'a great shame' that the NAK had kept its majority and no coalition could be formed with Høyre - which is now the goal of the party. The party will soon use its new power, though little, to push forward conservative and capitalist bills to the floor of the Stortinget, and also looking to strike and alliance with Høyre in order to provide 'stable, conservative government' for Kazulmark. The details of this are to be negotiated soon.

The Government has established governance over the occupied territories of Northern Budenlar and Hulstria. The formation of governance over the occupied territories comes amid increased threats from the Hulstrian government to continue hostilities in the region. According to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, whom are jointly coordinating the operations of the Administration, the occupied territories are to be governed by a Military Governor. The Governate is aimed at integrating human quality and technological progress with cooperation between local authorities, the Kongeforsvar, and security establishments opposite the separatists through the application of government policies in factors pertaining to civilians, the promoting of humanitarian issues, infrastructure projects, and economical projects.

Officials from the Section for International Defence and Security Policy within the Ministry of Defence highlighted the various factors which could come into viewing point of the Governate. The officials highlighted the problem of infrastructure in the prescribed province. The province of Hulstria, separate from its surrounding regions, has infrastructure which would be classified as extremely hazardous. The Ministry of Defence has announced its intention to increase the number of professional servicemen and women within the Kongeforsvar. The announcement comes amid increased threats by the Hulstrian Government to continue hostilities between the two nations. Since the War for the Emperor's Protection, the Kingdom of Kazulia had been reducing its military manpower, aiming for a small yet professional image for the Kongeforsvar. However, with the changing regional geopolitical climate, the Defence Ministry announced its intention to turn their policy on the expansion of the Kongeforsvar from one on reduction to one on increase. According to Minister of Defence Steinar Overbey, the Ministry intends on increasing professional (active) soldiers from around 180,000 to 240,000 by 4290.

The expansion plan is expected to increase the civilian employees to around 80,000 in response to increased threats from the cybernetic and intelligence spectrum. The Infrastructure Bureau (a recently established government department within the Governate of Northern Budenlar and Hulstria) has announced the commencement of an ambitious construction project aimed at restoring infrastructure throughout the province, including the Governate's capital of Miyako. According to officials recently hired into the Infrastructure Bureau (mainly Kazulians), the project is expected to be the beacon of hope into the war-torn governate's future as a democratically governed province. With the various local communities coming together autonomously, in the past for matters of a small calibre, the project announced by the Infrastructure Bureau has much larger proportions.

According to the Secretary of the Infrastructure Bureau, Nicolai Mathiesen, the bill associated with the restoration and construction project proposed would comes at around 12 Billion Krona and would last for around fifteen (15) years. The project includes the construction of various medical facilities, educational facilities, water and power facilities. Kazulian Civil Servants are expected to be personally handling the re-organisation of services within the province once the necessary facilities have been constructed. Civil Administrator, Anssi Kankkunen has recently announced the implementation of a functional government system in the province, replacing the provisional government established prior to the administration's introduction. With the formation of the Governate, a functioning government system in the Northern Budenlar and Hulstria would pave the way for future development towards of semi-autonomous province. According to an official press release from the Governor's House, the official seat of the Military Governor, the Administration had formed several government departments with the aims of micromanaging the affairs of the province.

The Umbrella organisation for the various Government department, the Provincial Secretariat (which Kankkunen and Major General Myklebust are both interim) is broken into nine policy bureaus. The Infrastructure and Transport Bureau, the Education and Environment Bureau, the Health and Social Services Bureau, the Labour Bureau, the Finance and Economics Bureau, the Regional Government Bureau, the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Justice Bureau and the Internal Security Bureau. According to officials from the Provincial Secretariat, the departments will be directed by individuals of Gao-Showan decent.

Staffing of the various provincial bureaus would be done through a complex vetting process, as the Civil Administration is attempting to curb the clout of corrupted elements within the administrative system. At a conference with stakeholders and investors of Asvald Gruppen and its respective subsidiaries, Chief Executive Office (CEO) Veronika Saltvik announced that the company's naval technology subsidiary, Asvald Gruppen Maritime and Lamond based Viserby Defence Solutions would be conducting a joint development venture for the construction of a new combatant aircraft for Kongeforsvar. The development project is being coined Project CA001 (Combat Aircraft 0001) and is an attempt by both Asvald Gruppen and Viserby Defence Solutions to cooperate with each other on a level playing field. The development of the project comes after the government implementation of the Transnational Armament Programme (TVP) which requested the construction of a combatant aircraft to gradually replace the current fleet of HF-16s.

President of Asvald Gruppen Maritime, Gunnar Hellem announced that the project will be open for the inclusion of other partners and their respective governments. Hellem stated that the project will not be an exclusive project where select companies and their respective governments are allowed to enter the programme, he highlighted that once companies/corporations and their respective governments show interest in joining the project's development phase, it is completely open for their inclusion. Hellem also stated that he does not want the project to be similar to the fiasco behind the XF-43 Programme where members of the Hutorian government contemplated on derailing the programme and making an independent approach to develop an aircraft which would not be accessible to other governments.

The construction phase is expected to begin in 4274 and a final model is expected to be constructed by 4282.

This has seen PA leader Siri Hægeland elevated to the office of Foreign Minister, with direct responsibility to negotiate the deal between Kazulmark and the Crownlands. Following the meeting, she gave a brief statement to the press.

Myself and the Statsminister very rarely see eye to eye on matters of policy, and certainly this decision will not change that fact. However, I respect and applaud him for this decision to put the national interest, and indeed the regional interest, above party politics. I am honoured that he felt I was the best person for the job of negotiating this deal, and I can inform you now I am already in contact with the Foreign Minister of the Crownlands. I hope to make a visit South as soon as is convenient so that this matter can be put to rest for both of us, and we can carry on with the job of improving the lives of all our citizens.

This decision comes at a time when Progressiv Alliansen was already having a moment of soul searching following the collapse in scandal of the NA. Formed as a union of social democrats, social liberals and democratic socialists in response to the NA's polarising politics, the party has now found itself as the main opposition to Høyre and leaders of the left. What sort of impact this new Government role may have on the Party's vision of itself, or indeed the voters' opinion of it, only time will tell.

"Stordalen Report will continue" ¬ Justice Minister.
Justice Minister announces continuation of Stordalen Report; promises faster rate of completion.

The Justice Ministry intends on intensifying information gathering for Stordalen Report through pooling national resources.

"The Stordalen Report will be continued and with an increased rate of completion" were the words of Minister of Justice Christer Ostberg when asked about the current degree of progress of Stordalen Report launched more than thirty-years ago. The Stordalen Report was launched by the Financial Intelligence Service of the National Police Service as a means of investigating into a sophisticated threats of money laundering and tax evasion schemes of unknown sources. Under the guidance of (then Minister of Justice) Mikael Gyldenlove, the investigation opened the door for a deeper insight into the scheme and also brought public attention to the progress of the investigation. However, during the country's slight period of inactivity, the development/progress of the investigation had been reduced.

It is of great importance to the internal integrity of this country that the investigation be conducted. Although attempts have been made through private investigators (who took up the mantle after the previous government failed to continue the investigation), that is simply not enough and if we return to such a perception of our own internal matters, we will make zero inroads into the development of this country. As such, we will be continuing the investigation and we will be streamlining it as a being a high priority for government attention.

It is being reported that to continue the investigation, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Home and Kingdom Affairs and the Office of the Prosecutor-General of the Kingdom of Kazulia will be pooling its resources in an attempt to beef up the investigation's clout and speed. It is currently unknown as to what will be uncovered by the government but from what inside sources have revealed, the investigation may be internationally linked.
