Deputy faction leader Halvdan Lie denies "formal" contacts
Bondepartiet's General Secretary and Diet faction leader dr. Johan Myhre having a hard day
RØROS (Nærøy) --- At the closing of a session of an unknown Diet Committee today, all eyes were pointed at a short statement made by the Bondepartiet's deputy faction leader Gunnar Halvdan Lie (43). Rumour spread rapidly that the Bondepartiet had instigated on opening talks between the government coalition partners concerning possible state reforms. Halvdan Lie denied this, saying: "I would like to say the following to my fellow citizens: A discussion is not on the agenda today, nor will it be in the near future. These talks merely concerned formalities. It is no secret the Bondepartiet has certain republican demands in its program, though we have no intention of opening any sort of debate on this issue."
However, when asked his opinion on the matter by the Royal Kazulian Observer , faction leader and General Secretary Johan Myhre (50) did wish to add that "formal contacts" are not on the agenda.

In the meanwhile, certain tensions are visible in the Political Bureau as an open disagreement between Myhre's faction in the Diet, joined by two government ministers, and Vibeke Tellefsen (36), Marshall (Head of Government), joined by two other government ministers. It seems the Political Bureau is split (7-7) on opening the talks on the party's republican agenda. Tellefsen commented on this: "We really have more important issues to address. First of all, the Bondepartiet participates in a unitary cabinet coalition that is really needed to increase the stability in the country. Secondly, I just think some concerns - like the humanitarian crisis in Talmoria - are more urgent and require a swift response of our Government. I would rather put effort in that, than in talks that make no sense for the time being."
With his Political Bureau split on the issue and both party lines making a hard stand, dr. Johan Myhre has tough times ahead indeed...
