Minister-President of Hent Gustav Gram-Hanssen and Federal Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Holvaster Widforss at a joint
press conference announced the Maritime Economy Masterplan. As the global economy continues to change and grow, the demand for
increased trade in both goods and services would lead to busier transportation corridors and thus increased strain on ports and
logistical hubs. In recognition of Hent's unique position as the primary point for exports out of Kazulia and imports into
Kazulia through the Port of Gna, Minister-President of Hent Gustav Gram-Hanssen noted the importance of a maritime economy to
Hent's continued economic growth. In recognition of the government's push to transform Kazulia into a technology-based economy,
Hent's State Minister for Maritime and the Blue Economy William Clemmensen noted that technology would play a major role in
achieving the objectives of the Maritime Economy Masterplan at a greater speed, with reduced cost and greater efficiency. From
automated cranes to technology-based inspections, State Minister Clemmensen stated that it would seek to transform the way in
which the maritime economy is viewed both domestically and internationally. Federal Minister of Infrastructure and Transport
Holvaster Widforss noted that according to the Department of Infrastructure and Transport because Kazulia is primarily an
export-oriented nation through its exportation of petrochemicals onto the international markets, the maritime sector was
extremely important to the nation's economic viability. He noted that it was through the maritime sector (which previous
governments had neglected) that Kazulia could maintain its participation in the global LNG market. According to the Department of
Energy and Energy Affairs, the majority of LNG trade takes place on the global markets on major intercontinental routes, meaning
tankers transporting large quantities of LNG throughout the globe. Kazulia's maritime sector amidst its collapse prior to the
introduction of the National Labour Party had been primarily driven by defence firms (i.e) the construction of combatant vessels.
Prior to that, the maritime sector had been driven by cruise tours into the Fjords of Agatha and Dankuk. Federal Minister
Widforss stated that he intends on incentivising the return of such activities so that the maritime sector in the coming years
could be composed of maritime activity from energy, tourism, trade and defence.

The Trond Heinrichsen Institute for International Affairs noted, similar to what was mentioned prior, although the maritime
economy accounted for an extremely small percentage of Kazulia's GDP, maritime continues to play an extremely important role in
the Kazulian economy as it is the enabler/facilitate of Kazulia's exports outside of the WDEA. In recognition of the fact that an
industry such as maritime is heavily dependent on unskilled labour and also recognising that Kazulia is rapidly running out of
unskilled labour which would increase the cost of labour, Federal Minister of Domestic Affairs Krister Lindén and Minister for
Immigration and Citizenship Jonathan Haugaard (a Minister underneath the Minister of Domestic Affairs) announced that they intend
on discussing the government's new immigration policy in the coming weeks, with this new immigration policy reflecting on and
recognising the decline in unskilled labour in the country. While some speculate that a new immigration policy aimed at
naturalising refugees and immigration at an increased rate would solve the aforementioned problem, other have advocated for the
government to warm up to the idea of replacing large amounts of maritime employees with automation. From 3D printed mechanical
parts to automated container cranes. President of the Trond Heinrichsen Institute for International Affairs Alexandra Truelsen
stated that she believes that Kazulia should use its geographic location and relative experience in the field to maximise its
potential. State Minister Clemmensen stated that the decision to transform Hent's economy is a maritime economy could prove to be
extremely positive for the state and has the potential to reel in large amounts of investment and allow for the state to become
increasingly competitive locally, regionally and internationally. State Minister for Communication and Technology Morten
Marcussen noted that the success of the Maritime Economy Masterplan hinges on the State and Federal Government's ability to
manage the large amounts of data that would come out of such a move. He noted that it was his Ministry's responsibility to ensure
that data is no siloed and to ensure that companies and the wider maritime sector (and those which service it) have access to the
data to be collected. Federal Minister of Science and Technology Arthur Thomassen noted that his department had already begun
work on assisting the Registrar General's Departments of the states to allow for increased capacity. The manage the large amounts
of data that could potentially come out of the transformation, Attorney-General Ander Schmidt has reaffirmed that personal data
would be protected under the Data Protection Act and that the government intends on creating a data storage embassy in Keymon and
Arenheim.

Minister of Science and Technology Arthur Thomassen has announced that the Federal Government intends on expanding Kazulia's 5G
infrastructure to ensure complete coverage in the coming years. This comes amidst the government's approach to aggressively
embrace technology in Kazulia as an avenue for diversification away from petroleum and petrochemicals. Kazulsk Telekom, the
telecommunications group once owned by the Federal Government but now privatised, has launched its 5G network at the company's
main office in Skalm. The 5G site in Skalm at the company's headquarters will be known as the base station. In
telecommunications, a base station is a short-range transceiver which connects a cordless phone, computer, or other wireless
devices to a central hub and allows connection to a network. The company stated that with the first base station established in
Skalm, it can begin the first phase of its planned nationwide roll-out of 5G. The carrier said that commercial operations will be
possible in the coming years, after the test frequency auction being managed primarily by the Kazulian Federal Telecommunication
Authority (KFTA) an organisation independent of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport. Minister Thomassen, former Chief
Technology Officer at the Information Technology Corporation and former Chief Information Security Officer at Gasstrien, noted
that the commercial success of 5G technology in the nation is heavily dependent on the availability of complaint technologies
such as modems, computers and mobile devices. Thomassen stated that the government was preparing to completely transform the
Kazulian economy into one of extremely high and fast growth. He noted that Prime Minister Per Dalsgaard, as apart of his plan to
reorient Kazulia back towards its traditional social democratic traditions, sought to achieve this through technology. He
highlighted the potential for technology in providing food security in Kazulia and making work easier for the population through
mechanisation and automation.

Chief Communications Officer for Kazulsk Telekom Valtteri Venäläinen stated that the company had every intention of cooperating
with both Federal and State officials. He stated that as the company moves to expand 5G networks into the states such as Agatha,
Dreton, Flindar, Hent and Kelvon, the company would initiate deep consultations with the respective state governments. Present at
the launch in Skalm was Minister-President of Flindar Max Schauman, Minister-President of Hent Patrick Damsgaard and
Minister-President of Dreton Torstein Oddvarson. Minister-President Schauman stated that with Flindar pivoting to lead the
country in information technology, 5G would accelerate the state government's current efforts. Flindar is positioning itself to
embrace IT solutions and a technology-based economy far faster than the other states. The reason for this comes amidst the fact
that unlike Hent it does not maintain a maritime economy, unlike Kelvon there is a little to no arable land for large scale
agriculture, unlike Dreton and Agatha the state possesses no petrochemical resources. In recognition of the fact that Flindar was
more prepared to embrace 5G technology than the other states, Venäläinen stated that the company has already prepared for a
Flindar launch after the launch in Skalm.
