Hudiskburg Machine and Tool acquires Keymon Ordinance
Hudiskburg Machine and Tool acquires Keymon Ordinance in 20 million KKR acquisition agreement.
22nd July, 4528.

Hudiskburg Machine and Tool announced earlier this morning that it had reached an agreement with the Keymonite Government on the acquisition of Keymon Ordinance in a move sought to rescue to the company from its predicted bankruptcy. The acquisition of the seemingly failing Keymonite company comes amidst Hudiskburg Machine and Tool's intentions to expand the company's branding internationally. Keymon Ordinance was the largest weapons manufacturer in Keymon, having been contracted several times underneath the Keymonite Government for most of its weapons acquisition programmes. According to market analysts, Keymon Ordinance had run an extremely poor business model whereby the company had mainly focused on principle competition in markets it was not prepared to engage in. The small company locked horns with larger corporations such as SlipStream, Asvald Gruppen, Horizon Technology Corporation and Viserby Systems losing to its much larger competitors by massive margins. Whilst credit can be given to the company's prior executives in the Joint Defence Technology Expo and Conference (J.D.T.E.C) for bringing the company to a larger international audience, the weapons displayed through the expo had been sub-standard and poorly designed in comparison to the weapons manufactured by other companies. Hudiskburg Machine and Tool had been the designers and manufacturers of most the standard issue AC-13 assault rifle fielded by the Kazulian Armed Forces. Primarily focused on the issue of modernising existing systems, the company has been the master behind several high-quality, high-powered rifles and weapons systems.

According to the President and CEO of Hudiskburg Machine and Tool, Gunter Furtwängler, Keymon Ordinance's entire business model would be overhauled in an attempt to make the company more appealing to the high intensity markets of the eastern hemisphere. Furtwängler stated that the company's name would be altered, moving away from Keymon Ordinance to Keymon Dynamics. The business model to be introduced to the reformed company will put Keymon Dynamics on the map as a renowned choice for enhancing existing weapons systems. Technical assets from Hudiskburg Machine and Tool will be brought over to Keymon Dynamics to allow the company to have a major advantage in the regional Artanian and Seleyan markets. According to statements from Keymon Dynamics' CEO Viktor Christensen, it had made an agreement with the Keymonite Government to impose a 50% cap on employment of keymonite citizens, meaning that 50% of the company's employees must be Keymonite citizens. Christensen stated that whilst the company can be contracted by the Keymonite Government, and whilst the Keymonite Government is allowed to obtain shares, it cannot exceed 25%, thus putting an end to the possibility of the company going under the quasi-private/public corporate model upheld by Keymon Ordinance. 45% of stock in the company would go to the Hudiskburg Foundation and 10% to Asvald Gruppen.

Kazulia returning to Peri-Northern Council doctrine?
Kazulia to revert to peri-Northern Council doctrine in major reorganisation of armed forces
Image
Chief of Defence, General Sigurd Prestegard (RKA).
13th December, 4548.

On the backdrop of the nation's period of relative inaction amidst the rising clout of transnational communism at the hands of the nations of the C.A.R.S.S and its forefront nation, Deltaria; the new Chief of Defence General Sigurd Prestegard has stated that he intends on preparing the armed forces for a major reorganisation, aimed at reintroducing the nation's combat prowess throughout the international community. The General stated that amidst Kazulia's inaction, the geopolitical climate has changed significantly as various nations now come closer towards Kazulia's domain. Deltaria's installations in Dovani, more specifically its installation in Dankuk is extremely concerning to the Chief of Defence who views the presence of the Deltarian Armed Forces within the region along with its allies with a degree of concern. To Prestegard and other geopolitical analysts, the era of Pax Kazuliana has ended amidst the collapse of the peace it fought to maintain. The Manifest of Tranquillity Doctrine, in its valiant efforts to maintain peace in an increasingly hostile world had concluded to be a failure and the peace had been shattered by Deltaria and the C.A.R.S.S' rapid expansion. This alongside the fact that the C.A.R.S.S and the TSC are locking horns, creates a situation of uncertainty for the Kazulian Government amidst its slide towards the Regional Power status by the Zardic Institute for International Affairs.

Kazulia maintained the most combat effective armed force in existence; an armed forces capable of fighting conflicts in any climate, terrain and time; anywhere throughout the world. Its doctrines had lead to major geopolitical shifts and can be traced to Dorvish doctrinal warfare. According to an official from the Office of the Chief of Defence, although the global landscape is changing, the chances of squaring off with a rival military has not been reduced but has increased as the armed forces takes on intensified international obligations. “The Armed Forces, specifically the Land Forces are a huge mass of troops and adapting them to the conditions of modern warfare is expensive and difficult,” an official from the Department of Defence stated. The armed forces has spent the last millennia securing its strategic interests and putting into motion various contingency plans for specific scenarios expected within their respective environments. This spans from the Arctic to the nation's regional obligations. Although the threat of organised paramilitary organisation hangs over the head of the armed forces as it is surrounded by nations that promote the idea (whilst it is an offence to form or be a member of a paramilitary/militia organisation), amidst the return of the iron curtain between Dankuk and Kazulia and the collapse of their established friendship.

The reorganisation programme is intended to focus on placing the armed forces in a position that would enable for it to capitalise on its current equipment. According to the DoD, the armed forces needs to "shake off" its inactive posture and champion its expeditionary posture. Minister of Defence, Ranveig Fadness stated that the procurement of additional combat vessels such as the HMKS-Arenheim and HMKS-Hammarskjöld and the previous procurement programme of the Queen Annette-class aircraft carriers, was not done as a means of adding the aesthetics of the armed forces. She stated that although the armed forces had utilised the equipment, it had been done in a manner in which one would say is reminiscent of a defence force rather than an expeditionary armed forces. This defensive tendency could also be tied to the fact that the armed forces has ran into multiple issue whether it pertains to oversees deployment and its mobilisation to conflict zone outside of Dovani. It has been argued that the armed forces' mobilisation and deployment to conflict zones within the region is something other nations are actively attempting to mimic, however the downfall lies in deployments outside of the region, where logistics comes into play. It is hoped that the reorganisation programme addresses the issue and brings the aforementioned issues to an end.

Gasstrien mulls gas exploration off Keymonite coast
Gasstrien considers gas exploration off Keymonite coast after tender documents approved

The Heider Hill LNG Plant in Northern Dovani, Gasstrien's largest LNG station.
13th December, 4548.

Gasstrien, the largest oil and natural gas producer in the world, is considering to expand Keymon into a natural gas destination amidst the company's prospects in LNG or liquefied natural gas. Gasstrien has stated that it will assist Keymon with fuel diversification and will also assist in plans for the nation to become a major hub for distributing LNG to various nations within the Mad Dog Ocean region. Gasstrien's Chairman, Ragnar Morstad stated that the company had signed an agreement with the Keymonite Government on the company's potential to begin surveying for natural gas within the nation's economic exclusion zone (EEZ). The giant that is Gasstrien, which has surpassed its Kafuristani competitor amidst its own domestic decline, seeks to venture deeper into exploration and exploitation. Morstad stated that the would be happy to fund the diversification process, citing that such a move would be beneficial for the region in terms of energy security. The Department of Energy and Energy Affairs stated that Keymon had long been planned to become a major hub for oil and natural gas with larger tankers coming in to offload onto smaller barges and tankers for shorter trips to the different nations.

The DoEEA stated that one of the rapidly evolving dynamics of Kazulian gas abundance, and especially its LNG export capability, is that in addition to the large volume of international cargoes bound for Majatra, Seleya and Dovani, there should be a lot of opportunities for smaller cargoes to taxi all over the place in the world. The technology of both floating liquefaction along the lines of accelerating processes, frees up the ability to go to a lot of these smaller markets without needing to build a giant facility. The DoEEA has estimated that in the coming years, Kazulia will become the largest exporter of LNG with the markets of Dovani, Artania and Seleya set to become large importers of the product in the coming months amidst economic development. Whilst Kazulia remains the largest producers of oil and natural gas, it remains among the largest consumers of fossil fuels in the world. Whilst the nation has become a world leader in alternative energy disciplines, the nation has not shaken its dependency on oil and natural gas for fuel and power generation as around 50% of Kazulian energy generation is done through natural gas.

Gasstrien has stated that the potential for natural gas finds in Keymon are extremely high, however they cited that whilst the potential for finds may be high, the projected amount to be found is extremely low, meaning that at most it will take around 10-12 years for Gasstrien to drain the nation's natural gas pockets. Thus, the company is currently in negotiations with the Keymonite Government on sustainable development measures aimed at ensuring the company meets its demand whilst not putting the expected pockets in strain and near the verge of being dried. It is expected that if Keymon were to become the LNG hub Gasstrien the DoEEA believes it could be, Keymon could be the first nation to have its own autonomous oil and natural gas refinery as the DoEEA stated that it will assist the Keymonite Government in constructing such a facility if it would like to push the nation towards an industrialised centre.

SEED to launch trio of modules into order from Valruzia and Lourenne
Space Exploration Directorate to launch trio of module for Hermes Space Station from Valruzia and Lourene
Image
The Rapier Space Shuttle strapped to a Stormspike VII rocket will transport the modules into orbit.
13th December, 4548.

Tomorrow, the Space Exploration and Exploitation Directorate (SEED) is set to launch three Stormspike VII rockets, making it their eleventh launch using the rocket platform. According to SEED, the three separate Shuttles, coined Jotne Alpha, Jotne Beta and Jotne Omega will carry the core module for the Hermes Space Station coined Lille; the Lourennais propulsion and electrical auxiliary power module coined Strife; and the Harmony node which is expected to connect the core module to the propulsion and electrical auxiliary power module. The core module is expected to be the work-house of the space station as it will assemble the other modules as they are placed into orbit alongside it. Launch is expected to be monitored closely by the Royal Kazulian Air-Force who has imposed a no-fly zone around the areas whereby the spacecrafts will be launching. It is expected that the shuttles will place the modules in an elongated orbit around the planet, where after the modules would extend their orbit to align with the orbit as recommended by SEED, near lunar orbit. Upon positioning the core module would spring into action where a simulated test of the craft's systems will be tested. Once this has been cleared and approved by SEED, astronauts will be launched onto the module to begin work on assembling the station.

According to SEED, the launch marks the first time the agency had obtained such a priority launching amidst having the backing of the Royal Kazulian Air-Force through no-fly zones in Valruzia and Lourenne. Apart from this, the launching of the Strife propulsion and electrical auxiliary power module will mark the first time a Lourennais scientific craft had been launched into orbit, thus making it the first Lourennais-built spacecraft to enter orbit. Lourenne contracts several private companies in Kazulia to launch its satellites into orbit, the principle of them being Pixi Cosmic, the private subsidiary of Derrick Kenny's Pixi Group. SEED has stated that the use of the Stormspike VII rocket for the launches marks a transition for the agency as it moves to abandon the Stormspike programme for reusable rockets. Director of SEED, Ragnhild Laugesen stated that the eleven launches using the Stormspike VII rocket had costed the agency around 17.6 Billion LOD. Laugesen stated that it was far too costly recognising the fact that the billion dollar rockets could not be refused. She stated that amidst an audit it was recommended that the agency looked into reusable engines, and hence Pixi Group had been brought on board for a programme to be disclosed by SEED at a later date.

The Northern Defence Integrated Command's RKAF Hringariki Command and Control Centre stated that all three rockets will have 30 minute window, where the command centre will be monitoring the rockets' launch. It is expected that the C2 centre will order either a Guardian-missile battery or a MIM-33 "Lockjaw" battery to shoot down the rockets if it is determined that the rockets have either come off-course or have gone 'rogue'. The Air-Force had been forced to bring down one of the Stormspike rocket launch vehicles after the launch vehicle experienced a malfunction which rendered it non-responsive to commands being issued from SEED's Command and Control Centre. The Air-Force stated that it doesn't want a repeat of that incident, thus leading for it to handle the launches with a particular amount of attention and care.

PM calls on Dovanian leaders to convene on regional integration
PM encourages Dovanian third-world leaders to convene on summit to promote regional integration

Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard speaking to the media on regional integration in Dovani.
12th February, 4549

Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard spurred Dovanian nations to work towards achieving greater economic and political integration to achieve higher economic growth and improve global trade positions. The Prime Minister stated that economic and political development in Dovani should be complementary to economic and political integration. In a report conducted by the Department of Foreign Affairs on the success of the Bortnem-Pomerleau Initiative, it was concluded that it was time for the "third world" to distance itself from the spirit of divide and self-conscious nationalism and embrace the sentiment of regional integration. The sentiment of closer economic and political integration amongst the Dovanian "third world" had long been championed by the Kazulian Government even prior to the implementation of the Bortnem-Pomerleau Initiative. It had long been the opinion of previous Kazulian governments that it is better to cooperate with the Dovanian third-world as one collective body instead of individual nations. "It had been a strategic choice of Kazulian governments of the past to support regional integration among the third world as it would prove extremely beneficial for the nations involved and the wider world."

It has been stated that Ntoto, Utembo and Midway are expected to convene in a pre-organisational summit aimed at laying the groundwork for future talks/negotiations on regional integration. Ntoto's Chief Minister Jeneba Gassama, since entering office has been a strong proponent for regional integration, citing that the region has been disadvantaged due to the implications through influences from extra-regional countries and the sentiment of singular nationalism existing within the various nations of the "third world." Ntoto had risen to being one of the fastest growing small economies in Dovani having benefited from the Bortnem-Pomerleau Initiative which the Kazulian government has since ended after reviewing its success. Chief Minister Jeneba Gassama is expected to meet with the leaders from Utembo and Midway on the sentiment of regional integration, however there have been rumours of a potential Ostland connection, as Gassama had hinted of travelling to the nation to promote the idea of regional integration to the Ostlandic Government. Prime Minister Skovgaard stated that she had wholeheartedly supported the push by Chief Minister Gassama, and stated that the Kazulian Government will throw its economic weight behind regional integration within Dovani, citing its regional and international benefits.

Air-Force expansion set to concrete Kazulian position in geopolitics
Defence Department announces major modernisation programme for Air-Force set to bolster position in geopolitics.
Image
The HF-35, apart of Kazulia's fleet of stealth aircraft, are set to increase in numbers as Air-Force mulls continued acquisition.
13th February, 4549

Before the Select Committee on Defence and National Security, General Christer Rosenqvist of the Royal Kazulian Air Force stated that in-order for Kazulia to maintain its global edge it would need to modernise the air-force in a major way. General Rosenqvist stated that whilst Kazulia is more than capable of maintaining an edge with its current systems, he stated that they are becoming obsolete and must be modernised and reorganised. The General stated that Kazulian combat pilots have proven to be among the best and most capable in the world, and that in itself is fraction of what allows the air-force to maintain its global edge. After an analysis of the air-forces force structure, General Rosenqvist concluded that that air-force will have to increase in both size and competence. Amidst the Chief of Defence's announcement that the Armed Forces will revert to peri-Northern Council size and structure, the Air-Force has been identified as an area of importance for the modernisation programmes to come in the future. "Technologically, we will continue to maintain an edge as our systems are more organised and tested than most nations, however as it pertains to size we need to address this issue immediately." Rosenqvist told reporters. The Air-Force is set to revert to its peri-Northern Council strategy of Sustained Operations, meaning that it will be tasked with constant patrols and monitoring of Northern Hemispheric and in some case, global aerospace.

The rationale for this modernisation as Rosenqvist stated is that the air-force is not large enough to sustain the pace at which it is expected to operate underneath. In moving to modernise itself, the Air-Force will need a diverse selection of war-fighting systems as it shifts 2/3 of its attention from security in Dovani to combating transnational national security and geopolitical challenges. It has been stated that the air-force will need to increase the number of squadrons at its disposal and will have to increase the number of squadrons which are on a high-state of readiness. Currently, the Air-Force only maintains ten (10) squadrons on high readiness with other squadrons set to be ready (in the event on a conflict) within 2-3 days. Rosenqvist stated that this was poor and that it insulted the combat readiness of the Kazulian Armed Forces peri-Northern Council. Prior to its collapse, it was estimated that the Kazulian Armed Forces could mobilise around five (5) divisions in no less than 24-36 hours and be deployed in less than 48. "The Air-Force has usually need the branch known for being the fastest to mobilise and respond because many of its squadrons were on a state of high readiness." An analyst said. The Defence Material Agency stated that the air-force would need to increase personnel by 20,000 if it wanted to add an additional 48 squadrons to the current total of 59. To correct the decline of the air-forces strategic bomber wing, these aircraft are expected to have a priority.

Apart from acquisition, the programme will focus on systems modernisation. The Air-Forces combat integration systems are the backbone of its technological array. These systems allows for AWACS, Combat Aircraft, Strategic Airlift aircraft, Communications systems, etc; to coordinate their efforts towards the goal of maintaining an organised and clear combat environment. It is through these systems Kazulia has gained its global dominance in organisation and effectiveness. Through these systems, the Kazulian Air-Force can easily coordinate joint efforts with other nations on the fly. According to the Defence Advanced Research Agency the system is called "AJAX" and was developed by the agency to assist in better organisational fluidity. "It is an extremely complex system that integrated everything from aircraft movement to strike markers. It allows for the air-force to be organised and also allows for the rapid spread of up-to-date information on the battlefield." A DARA employee said. In recent, the Government Communications Agency has identified its as a potential target for cybernetic attack, thus Director of the Cybernetic Security Management Centre, Maj.General Knud Christoffersen stated that the system would have to be upgraded to ensure that it is protected against cybernetic attack and to also enhance its capabilities. The AJAX system is apart of the larger "Multi-Domain Operations Systems (MDOS)", which integrated the command and control efforts of the combined forces including the army, navy and air-force on the battlefield.

PM rebuffs TSC application bid rumours: "We have no intention of joining"
Prime Minister rebuffs TSC application bid rumours; says Kazulia has no intention of joining organisation in future.
Image
Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard speaking before the Trond Henrichsen Institute for International Affairs
14th February, 4549

Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard indicated that Kazulia had no intentions of joining the Terran Sovereignty Coalition (TSC) thus rebuffing rumours that the nation had been involved in a bid to apply to the organisation. The Prime Minister expressed concerns for the organisation's structure and general modus operandi, which had echoed objections from officials within the Kazulian Government, who view the organisation as too laissez-faire and having a quasi-prosaic mentality, amidst the rising clout of organisations such as CARSS and the threat of transnational communism. She stated that whilst her government has seen the honest intentions of the organisation as valiant and sympathised with the organisation's drive towards greater respect to "sovereignty", its approach to combating transnational communism was not sufficient recognising CARSS' increasing economic mobility. The Prime Minister stated that Kazulia would not become entangled in the business of the organisation and would not wish to alter the organisation's geopolitical stance by joining. Amidst the government's concern for the fact that Kazulia's neighbour to the North has reverted to its pre-democracy tendencies, the Prime Minister stated that whilst she was willing to push diplomacy and dialogue straight through, instances aimed at destabilising the region or endangering the national security stance of the Kingdom would not be tolerated. She stated that Dankuk and Kazulia to come too far for the former to simply drop its efforts towards meaningful unity and cooperation and work against the general interests of the region via fostering political marginalisation.

Whilst historic Kazulian allies such as Lourenne and Keymon exist within the alliance, Prime Minister Skovgaard stated that she will remain loyal to previous foreign policy doctrines of remaining outside of organisations similar to the Northern Council. Instead, she said, Kazulia will forge a path parallel to the organisation, citing that whilst the rising clout of transnational communism is concerning, her government is more preoccupied with returning Kazulia to its great power status and pushing the cause of globalisation. Kazulia has been a strong proponent of globalisation having championed the sentiment amidst its reorient/pivot towards globalisation around the 3800's. There have been rumours of the potential creation of a World Congress aligned monetary cooperation organisation with the expressed intention of promoting sustainable economic development and cooperation and to maintain/safeguard global financial stability. With the nation pivoting to command control of the Eastern Development Organisation, the success of the Bortnem-Pomerleau Initiative is henceforth measured as a success, having brought high levels of economic development to Dovani's most disenfranchised nations amidst the hard landing of de-colonisation and conflict, which had hindered the region's development and growth for centuries. The Prime Minister stated that whilst Kazulia will remain out of the TSC, it does not mean that her government will not have a relationship with the nations within the organisation, might it be militarily, political or economically.
We have valued the cause our relationships between Lourenne, Keymon and Vanuku and the importance of cooperation with these nations even though we remain outside of organisations such as the TSC. This is something that we have held dear in-spite of our opinions of organisation itself. The situation developing throughout the international community is becoming extremely complication and i don't believe that it is fair and/or responsible for us to join an organisation, recognising our own geopolitical challenges and foreign policies. We have conflicting interests and i don't think that it does justice to anyone, especially the TSC if we are to join and have our conflicting interests hinder the organisation's progress towards achieving its objectives.

Kazulia recognises Kalopia as extra-regional ally amidst democratic turnover
Kazulia readjusts Kalopian status as extra-regional ally amidst democratic turnover; promises economic and security assistance
Image
Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard with political officials from the Kalopian Government during her visit to the nation.
11th April, 4550

Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard recognised Kalopian once-again as an extra-regional ally of the Kingdom in democracy, having promised significant financial and security assistance amidst the nation's turnover from communism to democracy. The Prime Minister, on the background of the rising tide of transnational communism has taken to the diplomatic challenges to voice support for the recently elected duo of President Theoni Risvanis and Prime Minister Kostas Karnezis. Amidst the reorganisation of the foreign policy strategy of the Kingdom, the title of extra-regional ally is the first of many changes to how Kazulia interacts via its foreign policy. According to statements from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the title/label of "Extra-Regional Ally" enables a nation to benefit from certain financial, diplomatic and security related amenities. Amongst the most important of these amenities is a security commitment between the two nations whereby Kazulia and the nation in question would be bound to a mutual defence and security assistance agreement. Nations with a similar "Extra-Regional Ally" status include Keymon and potentially Kanjor. Prime Minister Skovgaard stated that Kalopia's return to democracy proves that there is still hope amidst the rising tide of transnational communism.

Skovgaard stated that it was extremely important that Kalopia and Kazulia rekindled their centuries long relationship. Since 4320, the Kingdom of Kazulia has been pouring billions into Kalopia's security apparatus after stabilising the nation alongside Istalia against the clout of the MRSF, the Majatran Revolutionary Socialist Federation, which had long preceded the Coalition of Social Revolutionary States (CARSS). The Prime Minister stated that with the re-ratification of the Kazulian-Kalopian Memorandum of Understanding on Defence and Mutual Security, the historic relationship will be restored in full. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anne-Lise Haugaard stated that Kazulian support for the Kalopian democratic turnaround marked the beginning of a new strategy to bring support behind democracies in transition. She stated that the Department of Foreign Affairs would, instead of doubling down on existing infrastructures, a greater emphasis will be placed building the capacity to govern through stability within transitional democracies. In considering going before the Select Committee for Foreign Affairs on increased appropriations to support this rethink in foreign policy, Minister Haugaard stated new and fresh ideas will have to placed on the table in-order to materialise democratic change in Majatra and the wider world.

Prime Minister Skovgaard stated that she will be travel to Eroncourt for a meeting with Lourennais High Chancellor Francine Delafour on bringing Lourennais investment into the nation. Whilst rumours have risen that the Prime Minister might visit Wiel to discuss the same matter with Vanukean Prefect, Prince Dytrik Kspar Zhtál, the Office of the Prime Minister stated that the Prime Minister had no intentions of going to Wiel, but did not rule out a potential visit in the future.

Kazulia increases Defence aid to Keymon; Launches MAT programme
Defence Department increases foreign defence aid to keymon and launches training programme for KDF.
Image
Soldiers of the Keymonite Army look on during Chief of Defence General Sigurd Prestegard's visit.
11th April, 4550

Earlier this morning, the Department of Defence announced that it had received appropriations to increase defence aid to Keymon, marking the current aid package of around 3 billion to roughly 9 billion quinquennially. After 3 months of cross chamber negotiations within both the Select Committee for Defence and National Security and the Select Committee for Finance, it had been concluded that the Kazulian government, that the government would continue its security relationship with Keymon through expanding the aid package, but as mentioned prior spacing appropriations quinquennially, thus meaning that such agreements on defence aid would have to renewed through negotiations both at the parliament level and between Kazulia and Keymon, every 5 years. Keymon has been a major benefactor of Kazulian defence aid for the past 30 years, meaning that over the past 30 years the island republic had benefited from 72 Billion KKR, every short of Lourenne's estimated defence aid (which had ended around 4450) of 297 Billion Krona in the space of 99 years.

Kazulian military personnel will begin training troops from the Keymonite Defence Forces under a long-term agreements outlined by the Memorandum of Understanding on Security and Mutual Defence. The Keymonite Defence Forces according the Zardic Institute for International Affairs is considered to be a middle military power, possessing ore modern, moderate sized armed forces. According to officials from the Military Assistance and Training (MAT) Programme, the Keymonite Defence Forces must ensure the security of the island nation amidst recent threats and as such the Kazulian Armed Forces is prepared to institute the reforms needed in bringing the Keymonite Defence Forces onto a footing of professionalism and combat expertise. Brigadier Torsten Järnefelt, Commander of the Kazulian Military Assistance and Training team sent to Keymon, stated that as time develops, the Department of Defence will expand the Military Assistance and Training Programme to the potential formation of a joint brigade/division similar to the 1st Hutorian/Kazulian Division deployed on the island of Arenheim and on Hutori's arctic claim.

The training is apart of the Kazulian Armed Forces' efforts to strengthen Keymon's ability to defend itself following an increase in instability within the region and direct threats posed against the nations by extra-regional nations. Järnefelt stated that the current phase of the military assistance and training programme was aimed at developing tactics for the Keymonite Defence Forces and honing their combat skills. Currently, the Keymonite Defence Forces stands with a minor bracket and according to Brigadier Järnefelt, although the current numbers are satisfactory for a nation of its size and calibre, the issue lies in the nation's outward capabilities. He cited that the lack of interpolarity within the nations' armed forces would make it difficult for the soldiers within the KDF to cooperate with its allies in the TSC and those outside of the organisation.

Foreign Minister travels Kanjor and Pontesi in diplomatic mission
Foreign Minister tours Kanjor and Pontesi in move set to improve diplomatic and economic relations
2nd June, 4550.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Anne-Lise Haugaard, has embarked on a two-week tour of the Southern Seleya and Majatra to explore opportunities the regions offers to bolster trade and investment ties. Although relations exist between Majatran nations such as Vanuku, Kalopia and Beiteynu, nations such as Kanjor and Pontesi have little to no diplomatic contact as it pertains to relations with the government in Skalm. According to Haugaard the tour of the aforementioned nations is about strengthening ties, expanding Kazulian exports and reeling in imports (raw materials) and mounting investment from Kazulia into the Kanjor and Pontesi and vice-versa. Accompanying the Foreign Minister are executives from some of Kazulia's leading technology firms, financial institutions and industrial companies.

Prime Minister Skovgaard seeks to maintain Kazulia's manufacturing base, which standards as the largest of its kind in the world. According to Haugaard, the Kanjor and Pontesi larger Seleyan and Majatran region allows for fast-growing business, a constraint which Skovgaard has observed as being beneficial to the Kazulian economy. Currently, Hanevold is pushing the sentiment of Kazulian heavy industry, mainly mineral extraction and manufacturing. Deals are underway with the Lourennais and Kalopian government on extraction rights for minerals including pumice, iron ore and bentonite. It is expected that she will champion the notion of mineral extraction. Companies such as Warton Danver and Sorthamnmetall are researching bauxite, lead, lithium, manganese, ilmenite and zinc extraction prospects as it is their intention to manufacture products such as alloy ingots, cement, rods etc. Executives from Sorthamnmetall, whom are accompanying Foreign Minister Haugaard, have stated that the company has expressed great interest in open refineries in Pontesi and Kanjor. Chairman of Korsmo Electronic and Communications, Ryan Morris stated that the company will be selling the "Smart City" concept throughout its endeavours and will push the notion during the visits to Kanjor and Pontesi.

Wealth fund's success due largely to enormous oil and natural gas industry.
12th September, 4550.

Governor of Kazulsk Bank, Kathrine Asleson announced earlier this morning that the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund had reached 2 Trillion LOD as the increasing clout of the Krona and booming markets amidst the return of Kazulia's economic clout to the global stage, thus marking it as an extreme success for the government and the long-standing Labour party who had orchestrated its creation. Having invested the majority of its equities into education, global development and risk management, the relative stability brought about by Kazulia's support and active efforts in global development have been identified as one of the core factors influential in the fund's success. According to the Department of Finance, the fund obtains its wealth no only from investment but from oil and natural gas surplus taxation. Having maintained a surplus over 100 billion dollars for more than 500 years, the Kazulian Government had allowed for the fund to increase its share of the surplus from 14 billion to 25 billion dollars. Having been designated as the largest oil and natural gas producer in the world amidst the decline of the Kafuristani oil and natural gas sector, Kazulia has benefited from the fund's relative stability. During the financial crisis of the 4300s, the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund bailed out the entire Kazulian economy leaving a sum of around 800 billion krona for the purposes of bailing out several other nations.

Since then, the fund has grown immensely. In 4434, Kazulsk Bank diversified the fund's portfolio, introducing the fund to investing into thousands of businesses across the world in more than 23 countries. As per the act which formed the fund, each Kazulian citizen, upon birth is given a share in the fund, meaning that the fund can be redistributed to the population entirely. With a population roughly around 100 million, each Kazulian citizen (man, woman and child) is eligible to around $130,000 dollars and with the fund set to increase due to an announced continued diversification, this share has the potential to increase two fold. Currently, the fund is being used by the Government to pay for subsidies in education tuition, healthcare and global aid, with Governor Asleson stating that only a small fraction of the fund's market value was being used for the aforementioned programme. There has been considerable debate on whether the fund divert investment from markets such as mining and focus on environmental conservation amidst rumours from within the Stortinget that the harshest round of environmental protection laws in the nation's history could be rolled out in the coming years. President of the Critical Investment and Stabilisation Fund, Arthur Johannessen stated that there were negotiations between Kazulsk Bank Governor Kathrine Asleson, Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard and himself on opening the fund to invest into other nation's sovereign wealth funds, most notably the wealth funds of Lourenne and Hutori.

Pre-Western Dovani Common Market negotiations begin in Eroncourt between Lourenne, Kazulia and Hulstria.

2nd December, 4550.

Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard, Lourennais High Chancellor Francine Delafour and Hulstrian Minister-President Alwin Holderbaum are expected to meet in Eroncourt, Lourenne for what has been confirmed as the first round of negotiations on the Western Dovani Economic Area. This economic area amongst the developed Dovanian nations had long been in secret contemplation by the Government in Skalm, who sought to capitalise on the relative peace and stability within the region. According to the Office of the Prime Minister, the Western Dovani Economic Area is a proposed free trade/common market amongst the nations of western dovani. It seeks to eliminate tariffs on imports, exports and traded goods amongst its members. The point of the organisation's potential formation is to encourage economic integration among the nations of Western Dovani and by extensions boost economic prosperity amongst member states. Trade between countries improves economic fluidity and thus creates specialised economies. For example, if the Kazulia can manufacture automobiles and refine raw materials at a faster rate than Lourenne, and Lourenne can grow agricultural cash crops such as corn/sugar, it is better for both nations to manufacture automobiles, refine raw materials and grow corn to be traded with each other rather than both nations doing the other inefficiently. The implications for companies within this sphere/area would allow for increased labour productivity as businesses can move production to nations where labour is cheap.

On the backdrop of the negotiations, Prime Minister Anni Skovgaard that she was going with the interests of Kazulia's industrialised economy in mind. Kazulia's economy is the largest of its kind in both the eastern hemisphere and the northern hemisphere. With projections estimated that the nation's rapidly growing economy could set to surpass the combined economies of Deltaria and Vanuku in the coming decade due to major investment return from a series of projects and programmes to be set into action. Economists have realised that global manufacturing employment has been on a steady decline amidst recent advances in automation. Minister of Finance, Karl Søndergaard stated that there was a clear relationship between the rise in automation of global manufacturing employment. He stated that whilst production/productivity was on the rise, employment was declining. The Finance Minister stated that solutions were currently being developed to mitigate this decrease in manufacturing jobs. Trade amongst the initial members of the organisation, that being Hulstria, Kazulia and Lourenne account for around 40% of Dovanian trade, with trade between Kazulia and Lourenne accounting for 38% of that value. Lourenne's economy is the second largest in the Dovanian continent and the larger eastern hemisphere. Amidst Indrala's economic decline, Kazulia has dominated the global financial system, having pumped over 1 trillion dollars into global development and having accounted for 1.2 Trillion in estimated exports over the past 5 years.

According to Prime Minister Skovgaard, the Stortinget will ratify the 1st phase of the Western Dovanian Economic Area known as the Treaty of Delaune. The treaty seeks to establish the foundation of the Western Dovani Economic Area. The agreement proposed the progressive reduction of customs duties and the establishment of a customs union and proposed to create a single market for goods, labour, services, and capital across the area's member states. It is expected that once the agreement comes into action, nominal GDP among the three nations are expected to increase two fold.
