Internal Cleansing: Government reasserts public trust in Security Services.
Department of Prosecutions and Investigations launches investigation into misconduct within Security Services; Vows to reassert public trust in Security Services.

The Department of Prosecution and Investigations has launched an investigation into misconduct within the security services. The investigation is aimed at weeding out corruption and insubordination within the various security and law enforcement services. The Investigation is currently being jointly conducted by the Department of Prosecution and Investigations and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the Zardic Armed Forces and is expected to target all branches of the Armed Forces and most levels of the law enforcement and security services. The investigation was given the "go-ahead" by both the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, with Minister of Home Affairs, Cauho Filoksenido calling the investigation "a necessary step towards the Reconstruction and re-institution of stability and peace within the nation," and also came to the podium to discuss the investigation with the media.

As it is already known by the masses, the Department of Prosecutions and Investigation, in collaboration with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the Zardic Armed Forces and the Federal Police Service, has launched an investigation into corruption and misconduct within the armed forces and security services. It is the share opinion of both the Home Affairs Ministry and the Defence Ministry that the Armed Forces and the Security Services have been at the master-point of corruption and misconduct. As of recent times, around one hundred NCOs and law enforcement officials have been arrested over charges relating to espionage, high treason, financing terrorism and corruption, with around fifty high-ranking military and law enforcement personnel being arrested under similar charges. It is imperative that a level of secrecy of the investigation be upheld, as such this Ministry does not intend on releasing any more information pertaining to this.

The move is an extraordinary risk given how corrupt the armed forces have become giving rise to a concern about a possible coup against the government. While not commenting on the matter, the government appears to be relying heavily on local police and state police for the time being with Kostandia police out in increased presence across the city as if to reinforce civil control. Across the nation, National Defence units were activated and surrounded federal military installations in order to prevent any serious backlash as heavily armed federal agents, backed up by local authorities and rapidly increased "deputies" moved in to arrest and detain the officers. There were no comments from the Presidential Palace or from the Prime Minister's Office.

National Assembly passes Ĥristoforido-Saranteno Plan and Critical Industrial Investment Programme.
President Diogeno Radomirido to approve legislations aimed at combating effects of international economic crisis on Zardugal.
Image
President Diogeno Radomirido addressing the National Assembly posterior to the passing of the Ĥristoforido-Saranteno Plan.
2nd November 4209, 4209

The National Assembly has recently passed the controversial Ĥristoforido-Saranteno Plan (a government strategic guideline in which the repair of the economy against the effects of the economic crisis can be introduced through), handing Chief Minister Domiano Ĥristoforido and Minister of Finance Maksentio Saranteno significant victories against the economic crisis. The monetary investment plan is estimated to be worth around $800 Billion ZAR, and would encompass a series of government investment programmes. It is estimated to save around 1.5 million jobs and could possibly create 3.4 million jobs. As previously mentioned, the plan is encompasses a series of government investment programme, which include Increased government support for smaller businesses in the form a 2 year period of tax exemption for start-up businesses, specifically those in the area of infrastructure, medicine, education and technology as well as Government implementation of a credit based welfare system, by which pensioners are able to receive a formidable pension amount. This welfare system should be established in a manner which allows corporations/companies both public and private to invest in (under the guidance of the Central Bank).

Apart from the implementation of Ĥristoforido-Saranteno Plan, President Radomirido is expected to spearhead the Critical Industrial Investment Programme, which is a government act aimed at insulating the domestic economy from large influxes of revenue, as from commodities such as oil (a major trade resource of the country). According the legislation's content, it intends on forming an expenditure fund which would act as the balancer of the Federal Budget. It intends on accumulating the necessary finances through Export Duty for Oil and Petrochemicals (which a Duty Fax of 25%), Oil Mining Operations (As apart of the Trans-National Oil Mining Taxation Act) and taking 12% of the Government Surplus (Every Two Fiscal Terms). This would bring about a payout of around $25 Billion ZAR and $8 Billion ZAR respectively (with the 12% of the Government Surplus being dependent on government expenditure). It is expected that the implementation of these economic stimuli would come with time, but many advise that if this were to succeed, the Government should immediately move to exercising the provisions of the Economic Stabilization Fund Global, which would allow the fund to act as an international investor, investing into various industries and businesses across the world. Although President Radomirido his intention of doing so, he has stated that he would like to centre his attention on internal matters and once said matters are resolved, then he intends on focusing on exercising the global provisions of the Economic Stabilization Fund.

Re-engaging Majatra: Foreign Minister discusses communism and foreign policy.
Foreign Minister outlines Zardic stance on regional communism and outlines foreign policy objectives.
Image
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kalistrato Limpidaro outlining the Federation's foreign policy before media reporters.
2nd November 4209, 4209

After multiple years of diplomatic and political silence, the Federation of Zardugal is making a return to the international stage. It has been years since diplomatic word has come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the most recent dating back to the times of President Mozby. Recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kalistrato Limpidaro in a media brief earlier this morning in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters that he does intend on ushering Zardugal into a new era of diplomatic activity. During the briefing he spoke on the many policy reforms which will come to the foreign policy where he had this to say:
We have many reforms planned to be implement, one of the most are the revisions of all diplomatic treaties which we are engaged in with other nations. Specifically the Official Establishment of Embassies and Consulates in Zardugal Treaty and the various "one-on-one" treaties between Zardugal of other states. We have noticed that we are not benefiting from Consulates and Embassies Treaty, so we would rather have "one-on-one" agreements with nations such as Egelion, Istalia and Yingdala. With those "one-on-one" agreements we believe that we could center them on trade and cooperation rather than simply on setting up embassies and consulates.

With regional tensions increasing daily due to the internal situations in both Jelbania and Kalopia, in which both countries have shift from casual ideologies into extremist political views. According to media outlets from across the region, both nations have slipped into the communist cesspit as they are both currently governed by communist governments. It has been the traditional policy of the Federation to never tolerate extremists sentiments within its borders and in the vicinity of its borders. When asked to comment on the topic of the gradual rise of regional communism, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kalistrato Limpidaro has this to say:
The supposed threat of communism within the region is a pressing matter and should be a topic of great discussion throughout the political pillars. However, it is imperative to remember that this is a legitimate political ideology and should be respected. This means that the various governments in this region should focus on quelling the extremist sentiments of this ideology and avoid quelling the democratic rights of the less extremists and more discussion/debate friendly supporters of the ideology. This government is prepared to work with other governments on ensuring the growth of communist/left wing extremists does not grow into an uncontrollable conundrum. This government is also prepared to ensure that the democratic rights of the peaceful supporters of this ideology are protected and it does not intend on compromising on this principle.

So it appears that Zardugal is coming back to the International stage swinging. We do hope that this break of silence could mean the raise of Zardic participation in World Events , especially those which will truly benefit the nation as a whole. History is unfolding and the Zards are not waiting until the very end to capitalize on this.

Defence Minister:"Military needs to jump-start activity"
Defence Minister calls for Military fence-sitting to stop.
Image

3rd November 4209

The Armed Forces has suffered years of equipment deterioration and a decrease in operational effectiveness, this is due to the fact that for the past decades the Zardic Armed Forces has received neglect from the previous government. As a means of turning the hand of time on the gradual deterioration of the Zardic Armed Forces, Minister of Defence Makedono Athanasoviĉo (former Director of the Federal Intelligence Agency) announced the future implementation of major reforms to the Zardic Armed Forces and the return of the once respected operational effectiveness and capacity of the Zardic Armed Forces. Minister Athanasoviĉo spoke on the Armed Forces where he called for the military to stop fence-sitting and get to modernizing and jump starting its activity.
The aim of our armed forces is to defend Zardugal against internal and external threats and to secure our national interests. It is merely impossible for these aims to be achieved if our armed forces and its respective subordinate divisions are fence-sitting. It is understandable that years of government neglect, misuse of equipment and a lack of training and experience have been factors in the deterioration of our defensive and possibly offensive capabilities, but it is not an excuse for fence-sitting, it will only get us into deeper trouble strategically. Over the past years our equipment have not seen the light of maintenance, and our soldiers have not seen the light of external training.I blame that on previous governments, but, i blame the military's lackluster mentality on the various heads of divisions. The Navy, the Air-force, the Coast Guard, the National Defence Force, and the Marine Corps have all failed in their duties due to everyone's fence-sitting.

The Minister did not go light on blasting the Chairman of Joint Defence Council, and the Chiefs of Staff of the various branches of the military after a think-tank report showed during the period of neglect and fence-sitting, there was an increased amount of unauthorized aircraft entering our airspace without permission. It also showed that several light sea-worthy vessels were able to sneak pass both the Coast Guard and the Navy before being turned around by patrol boats of the Federal Police Service. In response the Minister threatened to find replacements for both the Chiefs of Staff responsible.
Stupidity is a gift which clearly many abuse. This report is an entrancement to the modus operandi of the military. An increase in airspace breaches, coast breaches by unauthorized aircraft and vessels shows the true stupidity of military leadership. It truly shows that most of you here have failed in your duties. I can assure you all, each and every single one of you are very easy to replace. You could hate me and/or you love me i was not born nor appointed to this position for you to do either of the two.

Minister Athanasoviĉo then moved to give orders to the various division heads of the military in order to jump start the activity of the military and to bring an end to fence-sitting in what he calls "168 hours of total defence." Which is, in a period of seven (7) days, all arms of the armed forces are ordered to act as though the military warning level were at stage 2, Military ready to mobilize in 72 hours. Officials from the Ministry of Defence say that it is a drill to inspect the combat readiness of the arms of the armed forces as a means of deciphering the many holes in its modus operandi. It is expected that after the seven day drill, all arms of the armed forces will heighten their efforts in living up to their set aims.

3rd November 4209

With nations such as Jelbania and Kalopia initiating communist revolutions, Zardugal is becoming very wary of its one trusted neighbors. It was announced late this morning that the National Defence Force would be deploying troops nears the Jelbic-Zardic border as a means of derailing the possibility of persons illegally crossing the border from either side. Apart from members of the National Defence Forces being deployed elements of the 22nd Airborne Division has also been reported to be en-route to the area. They are among the most highly trained and experienced soldiers in the Zardic Army. On one of the most sensitive stretches of ground in the southern majatran region, right now, Zardugal needs people who can tell the difference between a genuine threat, and a persons trying to jump the fence.
It is imperative that persons who have the ability to stay calm and collected be posted on the border. With the internal conflict in Jelbania it is important that this situation be approached in a sensitive manner.

Government introduces "Free-Port" Initiative
Government introduces initiative aimed at increasing trade throughout region.
12th March, 4210.

In a recent move by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to bolster the economy, The Commercial ports of Gatineo, Sebastino and Kostandian Bay, under advisement from the local Chamber of Commerce of those city as well as the Sebastino-Kostandian Business Association, have been designated as "free-ports" in an attempt by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to bolster the economy in the country. The laws was proposed by Minister of Trade and Industry, Novako Zdraŭkido and seeks to introduce less strict customs regulations and lowered taxes on income for investors.Minister of Trade and Industry, Novako Zdraŭkido addressed the National Assembly earlier today where he said,

Zardugal has a high potential of being the capital for trade and business in the southern hemisphere. In this legislation i propose to the commercial ports of Gatineo, Sebastino and Kostandian Bay, the status of free-ports with an ease in our customs regime on these ports. I can assure the members of this assembly that, we do intend on expanding the capacity of these ports to accommodate for increased operations.

The idea to make Gatineo, Sebastino and Kostandian Bay free ports came after the Division of Trade Promotion and the Federal Local Liaison Office spoke of plans to introduce a renewed customs regime within the cities as a means of increasing funds to assist in the formation of the much anticipated Critical Industrial Investment Programme (CIIP). News figures released from an independent research and analysis group known as, Limenostomo Institute for Policy, showed that during the first 5 months of 4209, the mentioned ports handled 155.6 million tonnes of cargo about a quarter of the total turnover of Trigunian ports in the ports of other seaside cities. The report stated that the most productive port was the Port of Kostandian Bay, which handled 34.5 million tonnes of cargo compared to Gatineo and Sebastino which handled 22.3 million and 19 million tonnes of cargo respectively.
Nevertheless it signals a move that these cities and their ports are a pillar to forging closer ties of Majatran nations and other international reaching nationstates. It is rumored that the Ministry of Trade and Industry is reopening its Provisional Trade Office within the recently re-opened Zardic Embassy in Solentia as a means of opening trade relations between the various Majatran nations.

Government commences seaport expansion initiative.
Government commences initiative to expand seaport in Kostandia.
12th Marc, 4210

Southern Maritime Solutions (SMS) through a joint venture with the Port Authority of the Port of Kostandian Bay, has been appointed as the lead contractor in the expansion of the international port. The expansion project will increase the lengths of berths 3,4 and 5, giving the port in general the capacity to handle/berth massive container vessels. Dredging of the area was commenced several months prior and was done in preparation from construction to begin around the vacation period (when jobs in Zardugal are expected to make a blow due to vacationing citizens). The project will involve dredging 1 million cubic metres of material to provide the berth and approaches, and enable a new steel-piled quay wall to be built. General Manager of the Port Authority, Chris Deramaut (Vanukean-born), commented on the expansion project.
The Port of Kostandian Bay caters from international trade. It is the largest seaport in the country and is the centre of maritime operations throughout the country as thousands of minor and major maritime corporation have established bases of operations in the port's facilities. For this port to operate at the highest level of efficiency,
it must now cater for largest international vessels. As such, with our cooperation with Southern Maritime Solutions and the port authority's own construction group, the expansion of the port could see an increase in facilities and general space for future operations.

According to officials from Southern Maritime Solutions (SMS), they intend on reclaiming land from the sea to accommodate for the construction of three wharves, two dry docks and increased housing space for business operations within the port itself. The new extension will be equipped with three new ship-to-shore gantry cranes, each with a 25-container wide outreach. According to officials from the Division of Trade Promotion (a department of the Ministry of Trade and Industry), the expansion of the Port of Kostandian Bay is expected to accommodate for the increased diplomatic activity in which the Foreign Ministry is going to initiate by reintroducing the federation to trade with the its various international partners.

Defence Ministry launches enormous internal defence review aimed at pinpointing direction of future.

Chairman of the Defense Staff Committee of the Combined Defence Staff, General Adamo Könnyrahe addressing members of the Media.
3rd January, 4211

It was announced recently by the Ministry of Defence that it would be conducting a large-scale internal defence review. News came pertaining to this matter when Chairman of the Defense Staff Committee of the Combined Defence Staff, General Adamo Könnyrahe addressed members of the media at Fort Beleco. According to the recently appointed Chairman, that military had underwent a period of pure neglect and it was imperative that the government and the armed forces itself made an effort to improve its situation and status. Minister of Defence Makedono Athanasoviĉo and General Adamo Könnyrahe held a joint meeting in the Defence Ministry where the following was said:
This nation has spent decades obtaining the reputation of being one the most powerful nations in the world. Due to fence-sitting by the armed forces due to neglect and improper leadership, this once mighty armed force has been on the verge of collapse. It is imperative that we re-assert ourselves into the global sphere and take back our place one the leadership board of the military and economic spectrum. As proposed the defence review is purely aimed at pinpointing the direction which we must take in the future when it pertains to the development of the armed forces.

The current defence budget of the Zardic Defence Ministry is $95 Billion, a major decrease as the government is currently focused on implementing the provisions of the Ĥristoforido-Saranteno Plan and the Critical Industrial Investment Programme. Minister Athanasoviĉo stated that although he recognizes and understands the struggles of the current economic situation, in the future he is wishing to see an increase in the budget for defence. According to sources from the Defence Ministry, the review is expected to last for around a few months and would encompass reviews in all branches of the Armed Forces, from the Army to the National Defence Force.

Maya Laršen

Maya Laršen, the candidate for Head of Government, and daughter of the founder of the party, brings the Liberecana Unio (LU) back onto the political stage! With a very strong program, which might upset some people, ranging from communists to Fascists. It gives the power back to the people and we can see, that within the party, the capitalist side, which was actually spearheaded by the Provo brothers, sons of the party's most recognizable member, has won. Many credit unexpectedly the candidate for presidency, Maršo Petkido, for the radical shift towards capitalism in Laršen's views.
Image
Maršo Petkido

Now the supporters see, that the party is off the fence, and is dedicated to bringing Zardugalo out of the crisis, which has been in the mean time managed by the Conservative party.

The LU strongly stands for de-regulation, lower taxes and lower government spending, as implied that it ultimately only causes inflation and requires more government spending to combat the inflation, in a never ending spiral.

The LU is also the party standing for Social Liberty, no don't ask don't tell, and no public nudity restrictions. The human can choose what he/she does with the body.

A very interesting political landscape emerges in light of the upcoming elections in 4213. We shall see if the LU is indeed the Phoenix that is depicted on its logo, so it can rise back from the ashes and be a political force to be reckoned with - even without the party legend Marco Provo.

Government proposes surveillance law; already being fought down in N.A.
Government introduces surveillance and information collection law; already being fought down by liberal opposition in National Assembly.
Image
The Zardic Communications Agency building in Darmopolo, Kalvario, the main agency responsible for surveillance on the national scale.
4th November, 4212

The Government proposed a controversial surveillance and information collection bill to the National Assembly, its strongest and official response to the rise of regional tensions due to alternate and extreme ideological tendencies. The proposal is the most comprehensive from the Nacia Konservativa Partio (National Conservative Party) government since it announced that it proposed the Critical Industrial Investment Programme and the Ĥristoforido/Saranteno Plan. The legislation is proposed at a time when regional tensions has set the pretext for the intensification of alternative/extreme ideological tendencies and sentiments within the state. The plan reflected on broader tension in the nation over how to balance steps to combat terrorism against civil liberties and political realities amid a resurgence in populism, nationalism and anti-immigration sentiment.

The legislation proposes the procurement of intelligence/information on persons through intelligence disciplines such as communications, the carrying out of covert operations, the use of human intelligence, signals intelligence, Geo-spatial intelligence, Open-source intelligence, Technical intelligence and cyber intelligence and is expected to target communications sources such as Telecommunications networks, Electronic media and General communications networks as a means of increasing the state's ability to combat terrorism and acts aimed against the state and its national security policy.

Immediately after proposing the legislation to the National Assembly, the legislation is being fought down by the main liberal opposition in the National Assembly, the Liberecana Unio (Libertarian Union), who has had a natural obligation to derail attempts towards increased surveillance by the government. Due to the political movement's liberal ideology it is assumed that it conforms to the liberal stance on surveillance, that being that it should not be conducted on persons at all. The LU believes that the legislation would infringe on an individual's right to privacy surveillance would be conduced without their permission and without authorisation from the court. Interim Political Leader of the Liberecana Unio (Libertarian Union) Maršo Petkido championed the liberal cause against the legislation in the National Assembly debate on the Surveillance and Information Collection Act.
The rights of the criminally accused, including due process, a speedy trial, legal counsel, and the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty, must be preserved. The same applies for surveillance. Only the courts, whose decision can be overturned by the supreme court, should be able to authorise such absolute surveillance, after being presented with enough evidence by the intelligence agencies. This is our population we are talking about, who voted for you. This is their right to privacy which is being infringed upon.

Of course we should fight terrorism, especially in the now so common communist form, but we cannot sink to that level. We can of course monitor public areas using street cameras and other means, public means govt. Property. But monitoring individuals, using their electronic devices without their consent or the authorisation of the courts? That is simply immoral and such great power may become corrupted and misused.

However, political and security analysts alike have disagreed with the statement made by the LU Interim Leader, pointing out that with the statement made by Petkido (which stated that surveillance would be conducted without authorisation from the court and consent of the individual in question) clearly illustrated that Petkido did not examine the legislation in its entirety. Political analysts pointed out that the legislation has several provision within it aimed at consolidating and securing the privacy of an individual whilst also maintaining the effectiveness of its surveillance centred provisions. Similarly security analysts have highlighted that fact that informing a terrorist/criminal that he/she is being surveilled would tarnish the effectiveness of surveillance and information collection, stating that if this is done said terrorist/criminal will be allowed the window to either escape from jurisdiction or go into the dark where they wouldn't be found. Minister of Internal Affairs and former Director of the Counter Terror Administration, Cauho Filoksenido spearheaded the legislation's introduction and responded to the statement made by the LU Interim Leader.
From the statement made by Mr. Petkido, it is extremely clear that the members of his party, including himself did not clearly and properly read through the provisions of this legislation. Article (2) has a two layer authorization check for surveillance and data procurement. In section (A) it stated that Surveillance and Data Procurement is authorized by the Sub-Committee on Intelligence Policy and Review and that legal authorization of Surveillance and Data Procurement is to be obtained through a warrant of surveillance from the Supreme Court. Something can be authorized but not legal, therefore the supreme court and the warrant of surveillance is the second most important provision on this legislation. It has been stated that surveillance cannot be legally conducted with a warrant of surveillance. The provisions even brings it further to protect the interests of the individual by stating,

"[Article 3; Section C]: If it is seen/identified that a Warrant of Surveillance was not obtained, surveillance of said person must end within immediate effect and all data gained destroyed under the authorization by a private tribunal conducted by the Committee on the Judiciary and Laws after a review of the information/data shows that what was collect is not crucial for the safeguarding of national security."

Surveillance is not to be conducted in bulk, meaning the government communications agencies cannot conduct large-scale surveillance on an entire group or congregation of persons (but it is to be conducted on a person-by-person basis). I would like to make it clear to the previous speaker that street cameras and "other means" are not going to help this state curb the influence of terrorism and communism, street cameras and "other means" is not going to tell us when next said persons will strike a blow against the state. It is in itself irrational for the previous speaker to say that surveillance will be conducted without the authorisation of the courts when there are provisions discussing authorisation procedure and the Supreme Court.

Any person is free to inquiry as to whether they are being surveilled or not. Nevertheless, it is not going to be publicly announced that person X is going to be under surveillance for reason Y. It tarnishes the effectiveness of intelligence gathering. For example:- If it were to be a Jelbanian Political Spy, whom is being surveilled. I believe that it would be ineffective for a public announcement of any kind to be made, saying "Jelbanian Political Spy X is under surveillance." By publicly disclosing that information, we are allowing external and even internal agents of crisis to take advantage of that. In simpler terms, they will be able to run away to place where we have not jurisdiction.

I ask the previous speaker to read through the provisions of this legislation properly and thoroughly and then come back with a reasonable debating point.

In a post cabinet media briefing announcing the introduction of the Surveillance and Information Collection Act to the National Assembly, Minister of Internal Affairs Cauho Filoksenido emphasized that the state and more-so the government much change in light of increasing threats against its security and well-being by showing enhanced vigilance, deploying new technologies and even, in some cases, overriding strong post-Jelbic War concerns about privacy. He stated that as this current time he does intend on spearheading the legislation through the National Assembly until its hopeful/eventual passing of the legislation. It has been reported that the Counter Terror Administration has begun raiding the homes of former members of the NNKL-FRAL for their promotion of extremist/radical far-left sentiments within the state. It is expected that said persons will be charged for the promotion of the radicalization of minors.

Federal Monetary Oversight Agency initiates international provisions of Economic Stabilization Fund; pushes to invest in external economically critical industries.

Director of the Federal Monetary Oversight Agency, Isaakio Theodorikido announcing the initiation of the Economic Stabilization Fund's Global provisions.
22nd December, 4212

Earlier this morning it was announced by Director of the Federal Monetary Oversight Agency, Isaakio Theodorikido that the global provisions of the Economic Stabilization Fund/the Critical Industrial Investment Programme would be initiated under instructions from the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Trade and Industry. The Economic Stabilization Fund, when it was formed as a government legislation, was given international provisions, allowing for the fund to invest into the companies and industries such were either deemed beneficial to a nation's economic standing or critical important in ensuring stability within a nation or given region.

The Federal Monetary Oversight Agency and the International Market Regulatory Agency are currently spearheading the promotion of the fund's global provisions, even having Minister of Finance Maksentio Saranteno contacting various nations proposing the idea of the fund's investment into their industries and companies. Currently the state has already begun investment into Kalistan's coal, timber and glass industry, pumping an estimate of 500 Million ZAR into each industry. This comes after Finance Minister Saranteno spoke with Kalistani President Bolívar Luciano. From what inside reports such, for the Zardic investment into three economically critical industries within Kalistan, the Kalistani President in return pledged to invest 4.5 Billion KRB into Zardic industrial and infrastructural projects.

It is expected that the Economic Stabilization Fund - Global would be able to invest more into the industries of Kalistan and other nations once it has obtained the revenue necessary to conduct such operation, but for more there is a 35 Billion ZAR cap of the fund's accumulation policy (which is obtained through 13% of Government Net Investment annually and surplus wealth of the Agricultural and Oil and Natural Gas Sector combined).

The Liberecana Unio is ready to lead
But for whom?
Image

The Liberecana Unio are holding their annual major meeting in their HQ Metz Strato 11, Nova Unkaso, Unkaso, Zardugalo, protected by police. After their short disappearance from the Zardic political stage, they are back in full swing to bring Zardugal out of silence and out of crisis. With the slogan: "For the People", they enter this election of November 4213.

However what people are they talking about? The communist Protests outside the HQ imply that:
The LU is only serving their own interests. The propose austerity and cutting taxes for the rich. They want to fight the spread of communism in Majatra, but have they asked us what we want, the 'people'? The spread of communism should not be surprising with such parties as the LU in charge...

The Liberecana Unio has recently revealed their Manifesto, and it indeed goes full on capitalist. They want deregulation in every sphere and cutting taxes for everyone. They also promote strong austerity measures, running with the doctrine that: government spending only leads to inflation which then requires further govt. Spending to combat it. They repeat like Zombies that the market should be left alone. But wasn't it their own party who was in charge when this dreadful economic crisis erupted. Quoting the uber popular former laissez faire leader of the LU, whose sons now occupy key roles in the party:
That was not real capitalism, it was corporatism.

We shall see what the election brings.

Apparently the LU wants to initiate talks of a common capitalist Union of Majatra, to combat the rising socialist union: http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreat ... atyid=3733

Critics say that this a good bye to sovereignty, and that money has won over reason. Supporters embrace this idea happily, and say that finally Majatra will unite, not only to fight communism but to fight for common goals like education and the eradication of poverty.

No matter what will happen, something must happen to bring Zardugalo as the leader of Majatra in the coming years. That is at least what they promise.

The Liberecana Unio has won!
Is it a victory for Anarcho Capitalism?

Celebrations among all Zardic communities

The Liberecana Unio has swept the elections, claiming 100% of the seats, installing Maršo Petkito (35) as president. They have immediately started drafting up a manifesto, to keep their promises. But it looks scary. It looks like Anarcho Capitalism.

Maršo Petkido the president, who took over after Marco Provo, has two immense tasks in front of him: trying to not disappoint voters after a great era of Provo, and taking over in a severe economic crisis. Whilst at the same time not given much credit as "the real power" is in the hands of the Provo and Laršen successors in the cabinet and parliament. Will he pull Zardugal out of the crisis and establish his voice in Zardic politics?

He has established his voice: some call it Anarcho Capitalism. He calls it: Libertarianism. Maršo Petkito has made point 1 in his program, in the Libertarian Manifesto and in the LU doctrine, and has repeatedly mentioned it in interviews. :
"A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society."

The Manifesto reflects that, cutting all types of government subsidies and provisions for the poor. Economic specialists are afraid of deflation, mass poverty and of course violent uprisings. Which have been going on ever since the financial crisis, which took place under LU leadership, and which have caused a socialist super state emerging on Zardugalo's eastern borders. Communist voices have been becoming louder, despite being intimidated by the previous conservative government, amd are now reaching its peak, as Liberecana Unio has caused peak tripolarization of society, between communists, capitalists and moderates.

The LU keeps repeating that to get out of the crisis as one of the leading nations of terra, austerity measures and letting the free market forces work, is essential. Many disagree and believe that it will be the demise of Zardugalo.
The former leader of the LU, Marco Provo, has repeatedly urged the population to stay calm, that the invisible hand of the market knows what it is doing.

Lastly, Maya Laršen has made the announcement that a Economic Reform is on its way:
We don't need a new tax system, we need tax reform!
this comes in a time, where calls like "taxation is theft" become more common, due to the polarization.

The plans to combat the socialist super state by creating a common capitalist fiscal and monetary union are slowly and steadily on their way. As the ministry of foreign affairs have released an official statement, calling for trans Majatran and Terran cooperation in the face of the danger. Furthermore, apparently their have been private talks between the presidents of Zardugalo and Istalia. More is to be confirmed at a later stage.

ZNLP ReFounded
After half a century of slumber the former ruling party of the Federation, the Zardic New Liberty Party, has risen from the ashes to enter the Zardic political scene.

Image
ZNLP Founder and Chairman Adrian Calstro

The ZNLP was formed by Adrian Calstro, the grandson of famous ZNSO Director Bruder Calstro, the mythic intelligence figure and considered right hand of former Zardic President Lindsey Mozby, who was the absolute head of Zardic security and intelligence services from 4145 after his appointment, to his death in 4166, a tenure of 21 years.

Adrian followed in his grandfather's footsteps, entering into the Zardic Federal Intelligence Agency out of university, rising quickly through its ranks as an analyst and intelligence case officer before he left the FIA and went into the private sector, founding the Terran Intelligence Group, considered a global leader in intelligence and private investigations.

Now 38 the young Calstro has entered into the political stage. The ZNLP Chairman has already stated he will be standing for President and won't be seeking a seat within the National Assembly if he loses. When questioned why in an interview Calstro shrugged. "I can be a lot more useful to the Party having the freedom to move about the Federation, taking up the issues of national interest and preparing for our next election, should the voters chose not to send me to the Presidential Palace. But the ZNLP has long has a reputation for running strong and powerful elections and I foresee no issues come election time.

The ZNLP have already sent a petition to the National Assembly for early elections as the ZNLP platform is already public knowledge.
