Moet: President Arno Waalwijk today announced that he intends to run for a second term. While the president is officially a independent, leaving his party when he was inaugurated, he will be running on the SLV ticket once more. Waalwijk said in a press conference at the Kazulian embassy, where he was on official state bussiness, that the confederacy is on the right track and "slowly moving forward in terms of its economy and social standards". Recently passed bills including multi billion plans to restart the confederate economy as well as bills that solidify progressive social reforms into law have been met with praise from the country's left and have already started to show signs of possible economic growth in the future, something that the confederate economy has been struggling with for years. Waalwijk stated that
"the government of Rodstad has done its best to offer solutions for the economy and to the general public that appeal to a majority of the population and ensure that the confederacy moves forward instead of backward. I have worked to maintain and develop good relations with our international partners in accordance with this approach of our government. Therefor, i am glad to announce that i will be running for a second term as president. While we have achieved great progress in this term there is still much work to be done. And i hope the Narik and Darnussian people's give me a opportunity to once again work on their behalf
Waalwijk has been popular amongst both Nariks and Darnussians and around 62% of confederate citizens approve of the job he is doing. However, it is notoriously hard for incumbent presidents to be re-elected in Narikaton and Darnussia as citizens that approve of the president tend to vote less then those who dissapprove of him or her. Waalwijk has already started raising funds for his re-election campaign and is officially launching his campaign next month.
