Liberal Camp pressures OF to liberalize elections

With the national unity government exercising their responsibilites for a few years and arguing about every step of the way, it finally happened, a complete breakdown in coalitionary harmony, the more liberal parties in the coalition led by the HDU and the sole VVP minister Kevin Erik, have announced that they would force early elections with some splinter parlamentarians of the social democrats if auf Pappen's OF would not agree to decrease the term length and re-instate mayoral elections all across the dual-republic. President auf Pappen has agreed to this, in his words, "blackmail" and inducted his party whip to make the orderfaction vote in favor of the constitutional reform. Olaf Heidenreichstein's HDU has apparently been looking closely at the popularity polls and waited for an opportunity to strike because right now, the HDU is leading the polls by two points in front of the OF.

"Democratic Camp" merges into Big-tent Liberal party
December 5466, Bannerhafen:
After the "blackmail" controversy about decreasing the election terms and reintroducing direct mayoral elections, the Hosian Democratic Union, the Alliance Social Center and the Green Liberal Party have convened in a self-proclaimed "democratic convention" to negotiate an electoral alliance. Star of this political turmoil is the young HDU politician Leonhard von Brenner which managed to gather support from the influential left-wing politician Sebastian Siebenstein who has been leading the social democrats of the Dual-republic for decades, with him agreeing to the alliance all other parties also decided to join into the new party which increases their chances against the Ordnungsfraktion and also makes left-wing policies more likely to succeed in a pragmatic alliance with moderate hosian forces. The politicians have agreed on the name "Democratic Republican Party" which is supposed to symbolize their love for freedom, well we will see if these liberals can win against auf Pappen and his orderists.

After a close race and the political earthquake that was the formation of the Democratic Republican Party (DRP), the official race for the presidency is concluded. While the faces at the OF election gala were irritated, the Democrats were happier than ever. The decision of Lunz and Siebenstein to drop out and endorse their new party leader changed the situation completely and enabled a landslide victory for Leonhard von Brenner. The designated president ran on a plattform of de-thallerization and liberalizing the constitutional amendments originally made by the Thallerist Conservative Party and maintained by the Orderfaction until now.
The Parliamentary Election of the Nationalrat showed similar results with the DRP obtaining an absolute majority and the OF being able to make some gains too on the cost of the VVP.



Prior to the elections political experts have made speculations on how the new political party system of the Dual-republic would influence the elections and where the voters of the now dissolved ASZ, GLP and HDU would go, while it was for most a rather obvious decision, many wondered how the remaining VVP voters would act. BANNERPAKT gaining influence with Beiteynu, Selucia and Kirlawa joining
The Dual-Republican based 'loose' defensive and economic coordination treaty organization has seen a drastic increase in relevance the last few years with a major power, Beiteynu announcing its entrance into the Pakt. While it is not very surprising considering the relationship the Moledet Medinat has with Narikaton & Darnussia, it is still a sign of symbolic value since Beiteynu has been cautious to enter special relationship agreements apart of the Yeudish Neset. This only once more confirms the strong bond the two formerly, less than friendly, nations have formed over the past decades and probably will continue to maintain. Another Majatran nation has heeded the call toward geopolitical go-alignment: Selucia. One of the first nations to sign a treaty with the then, upcoming Dual-Republic, it has been rather quite in the public ear about the Res Publica, but this confirms that our two nations still backchannel frequently and are on great terms. On the homefront Kirlawa, a war-torn newly established republic has been discreetly aligning itself with the Dual-Republic and keeping the rumors floating around in mind which whisper about investment into the kirlawan economy this move makes sense.

President Brenner orders Peter Thaller files to be released
June 5468, Bannerhafen:
In a surprise announcement from the presidential office, it is stated that the files regarding the alledged suicide of Peter Thaller are to be reviewed in secret by an independent committee of investigators and security forces. After the process they are going to be released on the first of January 5469. This comes as an answer to the rumors that are going around about the death of the former controversial president. According to insiders Minister of Interior, Sebastian Siebenstein has blocked any public releases or statements in this matter, apparently there have been heated debates between him and President von Brenner. After fierce internal bickering, the President decided unilaterally on this course of action.

The public has a right to know what happened to its former leader because, reading through the files, I now know that things are not as simple as the former officials responsible made it seem. All will be revealed in due time. Thank you.

Thaller murdered?
January 5469, Bannerhafen: backdated
After the announced review process of the files, the presidential office has released the Peter Thaller Death files to the general public. With the documents available to us we can easily see that the original statement of the police was nothing but lies. There is no conclusive evidence to support the theory of suicide, most people which were asked about his mental state during the investigation said that he was still full of joy for life and loved spending time with his personalized Narikvidia AI, some even hinting at a weird psychosexual relationship with it. A close confidant of the family whose name has been redacted during the original investigation suggested that there were threats made against the former presidents life of unknown origin. Circumstance points to disgruntled family members which frequented Peter's estate on a private island near Narikaton but there is nothing serious enough to pin it directly to anybody.

Looking at this through a political lense, makes us wonder if the Orderfaction or Minister Siebenstein were actively trying to cover up some internal dispute of the Thaller family. While this is all speculation, its nothing new, the political-corporate dynasty has always been notorious for its internalized divisiness and bickering.

Nihaton Solar has rolled out its first generation of domestic built Solar Panels, seeing massive initial success which leads us to believe that there certainly will be coming more from them very soon. Their official spokesperson said that "while the government is cautious with new statements regarding green policy, the private sector is very interested especially small business and private households are running our doors in."

With the rejuvenation of Equifund strategic investments across various nations and the success the new classes of Dual-Republican ships saw in popularity, the rather young military ship producer announced a new series of smaller ships including Destroyers and Frigates currently in development. Some speculations point to international joint-military cooperation in designing these new products.

The Vamaj Oil Distribution Network has recently seen an increase in "momentum" as the Yishelem Post put it. This network is a central pillar of the Dual-Republics initial rise to economic prominence a few decades ago and still to this day is benefting our economy, the government has expressed happiness about its expansion.

Pan Dundorfian League: First Dundorfian Cultural Festival Announced
June 5470, Volksfelde, Alkavon:
President Leonhard von Brenner and his ministers for Culture and Foreign affairs stand in the middle of a small municipality in Alkavon, geographically in the center of the region, demographically almost exclusively darnussian. It is supposed to be site for the first international dundorfian cultural festival as a project of the newly revived Pan Dundorfian League. It is supposed to celebrate and promote traditional dundorfian customs such as dances and language but should also provide a humantiarian-charity effect, 50% of the income the festival is supposed to generate is going to various humanitarian organizations and possibly to some own PDL international aid projects. Minister of Cultural Affairs Quinten van Welsum outlined the contents of the festival, it is three days long from friday to sunday and includes a center stage for musical artists surrounded by a circle of stalls of varying size. Any organization can apply to get a stall at the festival but has to get reviewed by the League during the application process. The Brenner cabinet commented on concerns regarding a possible discrimnatory stance towards nariks with a simple "there is a quota on narik cultural stalls at 30% which in our opinion is a clear sign that the two peoples could never be seperated. On another note, I find these so-called 'concerns' laughable, Minister van Welsum is a narik and he is primarily responsible for organizing this initial event." According to a published list of guest-nations, the ministry of foreign affairs has sent out special invites to all nations regarded as culturally volksdundorfian in the Pan Dundorfian League.

We're issuing a formal diplomatic protest and a warning against the United Kingdom and urge you to immediately reposition yourself and come to table.

Election campaigning 5471
February 5471, Bannerhafen, Merenbürgerstraße 13: While world tensions are high, the Dual-Republic is also looking toward a heated election campaign between the DRP and the OF. With the release of the Peter Thaller files, Minister of the Interior Sebastian Siebenstein has come under fire for his role in, alledgedly covering up the rumored murder of the former president. Many feel that Siebenstein's loyalty lies more with the notorious family than his own people, which has been a negative factor for the DRP in the polls. Former OF president Ulrich auf Pappen has mostly been cleared about his involvement in the cover-up it still marked him, so he resigned and rejected another run for the presidency. This led to the young, and the first female, candidate to win the orderist nomination, Heleen Bouman. She was the youngest member of the Nationalrat in the history of the Dual-republic and is known for a pragmatic and gregarious attitude, she has won the confidence and the heart of her party colleagues, the polls are looking good for her? Will she manage to beat the experienced Leonhard von Brenner?
