National News of Narikaton and Darnussia

Today on the 3rd of September 4831,
The National Assembly has begun to look at the Deltarian-Narikaton and Darnussian Basing Rights Clause (4775). This a treaty proposed by Deltaria to Narikaton and Darnussia but was never accepted. The treaty is being looked at, as Narikaton's position on the world stage is currently unknown geopolitically. While King Alfred intends to follow neutrality it is clear that without allies we will not succeed.

In other news, the Economy has seen huge growth over the past few months. The projected growth currently stands at 10% which was greater than expected. The stock market is also on the rise.

This is great news as it shows that the new economic policy is working. However it must be seen if it will work long term.

National News of Narikaton and Darnussia

Today on the 3rd of December 4831,
The Government has begun talks with Telamon over a new treaty of friendship free trade and mutual defense. It is hoped that this new treaty will continue to boost the already high relations between Telamon and Narikaton and Darnussia.
In a statement to the National Assembly Premierminister Otto Adler said,
It is great that a nation such as Telamon has agreed to such talks as this new treaty will be greatly beneficial to both of our countries. This treaty will demonstrate to the world that Narikaton and Darnussia is open for trade. However it would impolite not to thank the mighty nation of Telamon for it's kindness and aid in this time. Therefore on behalf of the people of Narikaton and Darnussia I thank you.

Far-Right resurfacing in active politics

In recent years, the traditionally strong far-right of Narikaton and Darnussia was reduced to a fringe-group in communal and state-wide politics. Now with the meager results of the conservative alliance, the far-right has been gaining more and more ground in local elections. They've attracted enough personalities to once again provide an alternative to the currently established leftist, liberal and moderately conservative parties. Members of various nationalist factions announced that in the background of day-to-day politics, the nationalist have been organizing a joint-list to run on in the next parliamentary tally. During the constituting assembly of the new thallerist party conglomerate called "New Thallerist Way" nationalist punk-rock singer Dominik Jungblut got elected to the position of Alliance-Chairman and is therefore going to lead the political force into its first battle in the next general election.
"It looked like a silly semi-cliquey thing between a few players to me. Following around a troll called Mbites like he was some sort of god... which wouldn't have mattered so much in the scale of things, except one of them was a Mod."

New Thallerist Way confirms Thaller presidential candidate

In a short press-conference a few days ago the far-right thallerist alliance announced that Malgus von Thaller is going to run on their presidential ticket which makes him the first member of the family to come back to active politics in years. Political observers find it difficult to characterize Malgus agenda. He seems to run a rather moderate platform for a thallerist. Hardly surprising though, one of thallers plans is to revamp the current court system. "The current system does not breed thallerists." said Party-Chairman Dominik Jungblut.

Interior Mininster critizises the Thallerists

In an Interview with the countries biggest newspaper Interior minister Horst Schuhman critizised the new far right party.

Our country, our values and our constitution are not compatible with the goals of the Thalerists. We are a free and opeb society and we shall continue to be one, the ways and thoughts of the far right are against these values. No liberty loving citizen should vote for them.

Schuhmann continues with the thought of putting the party on a governmental watch list.

He then speaks about the upcoming election where his party hopes to become the strongest party once again.

In the upcoming election we hope to once again gain most of the seats with the very clear intention to continue our coalition with the left party, a coalition which has done a lot of good for our country and our people. And of course I also hope for my colleague and friend Paul Grimwald to be reelected as our president.

The parties main goal must be to keep the far right out of power.
A coalition with them is according to Schuhmann "unthinkable"

Thallerists win over 100 seats in general election.

In a landslide, thallerist candidates all over the nation got elected into positions of power. The legislative assembly of Narikaton and Darnussia now hosts 103 thallerists.
It may be an impressive achievement for this new party but historically speaking it is one of the worst results a thallerist party ever got. 22,82% of the people voted for the nationalist alliance which places them in third place, overtaking the moderate conservatives by a rather large margin. Leaving the socialists and liberals in second and first place. Additionally the incumbent president of the liberal alliance managed to win another term. Malgus von Thaller did not even make it into the second round. Party Chairman Dominik Jungblut stated during a short press-release immediately after the election that the doors of the New Thallerist Way are open for the other partys. "We can be approached and be reasonably negotiated with. I - sincerely - doubt that the Liberals want to embrace the natural way of Narikaton and Darnussia."

Grimwalds last term
VLV/FLV only in second place

After the last elction in Narikaton and Darnussia president Paul Grimwald won his third term as president. The social liberal admitted that the last two terms were sometimes rather tough but that he his happy thay he could serve hos country and that he can still serve for the next three years. "After that it is enough " he said in his acceptance speech.

An important question for the party, and also for the people of the country is: Who will follow Grimwald as head of the party and presidential candidate? There are three competitors. Inge Klapp, Ferdinand van Maasen and Gregor Frei. Klapp is a social liberal very clpse to the current leader Grimwald. She is in favour of a coalotion with the socialists. Van Maasen is a liberal conservative and state that he thinks a coalition with the moderat conservativs and maybe even with the Thalerists would be possible, maybe even necessary for the economic future of the country. The last competitor, Frei, says that the Liberals should not form a coalition with anyone after the next election of they're votes drop even further, in order to recover.

As for now, the Liberals being the second strongest party with only a tiny gap to the socialists will renew their coalition with the Socialists.

Victory of the left
Max Riekse Prime minister

After the last election, Coalition of the United Left became the largest party of The National Assembly and won the election. Max Riekse has not become president as the incumbent Paul Grimwald defeated him in the 2nd round. Eventually, Max Riekse became the new Prime minister.
Under Max Riekse the CVL/KVL coalition has chosen to stay true to the liberal and social democratic way of politics, but still, voices within the party are trying to shift the party more to the left and more to the conservative side of the spectrum. Most visible advocate for shifting to the left is current 1st-Vice-Chairwoman and Minister of Justice Tamara Zwinak-Debruhl, she has once tried to become party leader and it is probably that she will try again. Will the coalition stay in the current direction or will it shift? We have to wait till the next leadership election, but it is becoming evident, that project of the united left encounters the first major obstacles.
