RITTERSHEIM, CHONTALEN - Our most passionate readers will remember the 5442's Motor Show exibit in Nordenhaus, where a small but promising family-owned car worskshop was beginning to make way in the world of Dundorf's car industry. You will remember OCHEL, you may even own a car made by them, as the Chamber of Commerce, in its annual report of various industries, has stated that the north Chontalen based corporation has secured the 2nd highets spot in the ranking of Dundorf's car industries - formally recognizing the amazing growth that Bruno and Lena Ochel created by themselves. In these years, OCHEL specialized in creating family-oriented cars, and began looking into the market of electric ones, as the demand for less gas powered cars is rising impetuosly, especially among young adults, who also want cheaper than average products. OCHEL is offering them relatively cheap electric cars, who are directly posing a threat to Maibaum-Bain, by far Dundorf's biggest and most powerfyl car company.
We asked an expert whether is probable or not that OCHEL may surpass Maibaum-Bain in the near future, here's an extract of his response:

This is an intersting question. OCHEL had a signficant growth worth noticing, but remember that MB has stayed here for quite the time, and their manifacturing is still unmatched. I will be following OCHEL with interest in the coming years.

Foreign Office, March 22, 5452: Foreign Minister Bruno Stachel issued the following statement:

There is speculation in Davostag of all places that the Bundesrepublik is happily gearing up for war. And their reaction to this opinion based on their newly acquired Artanian expertise is to intervene in favor of gun runners to a Junta making mustard gas. I have no doubt they thought they were doing the right thing. Wonderful.

Why did we mobilize? The current Kirlawa regime will not be using mustard gas on North Dovani or Vascania or Zardugal or Vorona or the Dual Republic or Davostag. No, they can’t, but they can use it against their neighbors – Aloria, Dorvik, Kundrati and Dundorf. So we are prepared if they move against us.

We believe no nation in Artania actually wants war. Could be wrong but that is our belief.

So it is our hope the Security Council will act and resolve this threat without war. And deal with the Kirlawa Junta’s apparent purge of its own citizens as well. We believe it is making progress on a humanitarian corridor.

The Bundesrepublik is also prepared to join in a conference of all those involved to look for a solution including those outside Artania who have chosen to be involved.

As I said, we do not believe any nation in Artania wants war.

Foreign Office, October 17, 5452: Foreign Minister Bruno Stachel was asked by ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER why the interim delegate to the World Congress called for Beiteynu to withdraw from the Security Council in rather harsh terms, and he responded:

Really can not speak to the terms used, but the Security Council is trying to help with a really bad situation here in Artania on our border. Trying to provide a humanitarian relief corridor into Kiralawa. And the Beiteynu delegate is obstructing. Pretty clear Beiteynu should resign from the Security Council and get out of the way.

Expect that will not happen. And let’s be clear, Security Council or no Security Council we are expecting war with the current Kiralawa rergime. We do not know if their forces will attack our troops and those of our neighbors at our borders or whether they try to deploy chemical weapons against us without routing their own troops or whether they have some obscene atrocity to perpetrate against their population in mind to goad us into attacking them. So we certainly expect war.

KIRLAWA FORCE INCREASED

Foreign Office, April 17, 5453: Foreign Minister Bruno Stachel was asked by ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER what was going on at the border with Kirlawa and he replied:

Our intelligence is the forces of the Kiralawa Junta are trying to deploy weapons suitable for some sort of delivery of mustard gas which they have been making. We also believe there will be units moving toward our border.

We have increased Heer medical staff and provided training in handling mustard gas victims whether Dundorfische, or Kiralawan civilian or Kiralawan regime forces.

Further, Ableitung I of Nationaler Verteidigungsrat (NVR) has directed Obeerkommando Luftwaffe (OKL) to send ten more squadrons including our Unionfighter squadrons to join the ten already there. For the time being, the twenty squadrons will be divided into four provisional wings half armed initially for ground attack and half for air superiority. Each wing with be under the command of the Kiralawa Defense Force Commanding General and in contact with OKL. The force commander is the Commanding General, 1st Division, who is also commanding all five Heer divisions in place.

NVR, June 17, 5453: ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER sources at the Nationaler Verteidigungsrat (NVR) indicate Kiralawa military forces are very likely to attack soon, most likely with no declaration of war. Our side of the border itself is occupied here and there by infantry detachments and patrolled by reconnaissance drones. Somewhat to the rear our Kirlawa Defence Force is on alert. Medical units are ready to treat victims of the war crime of chemical warfre as best they can. Gas masks have been issued.

NVR’s Ableitung I in charge of operations is in contact with the Commanding General, Kirlawa Defence Force.

WAR WITH KIRLAWA

Foreign Office: The following statement was issued by the Foreign Office:

A state of war exists with Kirlawa which attacked Kundrati and the Bundesrepublik with mustard gas.

NVR, Battle Report 1: ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER sources at the Nationaler Verteidigungsrat (NVR) confirm that Kiralawa Junta forces attacked 2nd Division and Kundrati armed forces where the borders of the three nations converge with mustard gas.

Our advanced infantry detachments pulled back as did 2nd Division generally. Gas masks were in use and or that matter had also been supplied to civilian population in villages to the rear of 2nd Division. There is no actual antidote; the primary objective is getting it off anything it contacted as quickly as possible including clothing, equipment and skin. The effects can be long term and devastating if this does not occur. Medical personnel oversaw minimizing the effects. The main effort was to get out of the way of the low lying toxic cloud that formed and eventually settled into the ground contaminating it. 2nd Division was largely occupied with getting out of the way and enforcing a good sized quarantine area.

One brigade of 2nd Division was able to begin advance into the easternmost sector of Merkan region to the west of the area contaminated by the Junta.

In view of the mustard gas forming a low lying cloud, the initial counterattack was by the two wings of HF-16’s armed for air superiority which took control of the air space in northern Merkan Region of Kirlawa well above the toxic cloud.. They encountered little opposition. The two wings armed for ground attack fired missiles, rockets and laser guided bombs into the enemy troops below. Since we did not want to drive them into the toxic cloud, a retreat route to the north was left open. As a result, the enemy made an orderly retreat rather than be routed.

Further, west, 1st Division made a general advance northward and to their west 3rd Division did the same. As of this writing, 5th Panzer Division is approaching Peaca while 7th Panzer first invested and then moved beyond Verdana leaving an occupying force of a battalion of Panzergrenadiers. The organized military encountered did not stand and fight but were moving rapidly north.

The prevailing view throughout the Kirlawa Defence Force seems to be that somewhere between them and the enemy capital the enemy will occupy prepared defensive positions otherwise they would hardly have attacked in the first place.

Strauss proposes education cooperation with Lourenne
The Leader of the Opposition has proposed to deepen the relationship with Lourenne further.

DUNBURG, ODERVELD - Former Education Minister and current Leader of the Opposition Hans Strauss has proposed in Bundestag a plan to bolster a cooperation agreement between Dundorf and its ally Lourenne over Education and Culture, considered to be an important step to further deepen the growing ties between the two Humanitarian allies. Already in the previous administration, who authorized our partecipation in the so-called "Terraway" project, there were discussions on how Dundorf and Lourenne could possibly grow a more capable and trained scientific community in regards of space exploration, and the former Minister kept working in these years creating a project that could actually make this real. The proposal has been drafted in Bundestag is now waiting for the usual process of negotiations, both domestically and internationally, and other procedures to allow the bill on the floor, to be voted and finally enhsrine the partnership.
In detail, the proposal will institute student exchanges, both in High Schools and Universities, will specifically encourage researches, works and exchanges in the fields of engineering and training related to space, and Mr. Strauss reassures that all students belonging to all disciplines saying that they will be engaged in this joint project. Cherry on top, Dundorf and Lourenne are set to promote cultural events, promoting their culture, in each other's countries, hoping to create a wider sense of community between Dundorfians and Lourennais.

Kirlawa junta regime forces are still in the field. The Kirlawa regime did give its subjects a piece of good advice. Keep gas masks handy. Why? One never knows if some junta forces will turn up and release mustard gas in their direction.

Should the current Kirlawa regime wish to cease making war, it will need to answer three questions. First, will it allow international inspection to insure it is neither currently producing chemical weapons or in possession of any? Second, has it ceased to purge its own population? Third, will it permit any and all foreign nationals to leave Kirlawa?

We do want to comment on two matters recently raised by Davostag. We did not attack the Kirlawa Junta because it is a loathsome regime; no, we counterattacked after the Junta sent troops to our border armed with chemical weapons and released Mustard Gas as correctly reported by the Kirlawa Times. The degree that this was a mistake hardly matters.

Second, if Davostag can convince the Junta it is time to stop the war so much the better. We have not been able to do it.
