HELICOPTER SALE TO KUNDRATI

Defence Ministry, August 17, 5466: ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER sources in Nationaler Verteidigungsrat (NVR) have learned that Defence Minister Niklas Weidinger did sign off on the proposed sale by Jeschonnek Hubschrauber (JHS) of 175 JHS 532 Cougar AL combat equipped helicopters to the Army of the Kundrati Union to be delivered over the next 43 months.

10 of the JHS 532 Cougar AL’s are divisional assets of 5th Panzer Division while the unarmed version of the same rotary craft, the JHS 532 Cougar UL, is now the standard utility helicopter for each of our 9 divisions.

The JHS 532 AL Cougar is a twin turboshaft engine multipurpose helicopter with composite rotary blades. It has a crew of two and can carry a battleground surveillance system as well. Its maximum speed is 249 kilometers per hour with a range of 573 kilometers and a service ceiling of 3450 meters.

JHS 532 Cougar AL is armed with pod mounted 20 mm cannons, 68 mm rocket launchers and side mounted rapid fire machine guns.

NDZP SUPPORTS SECURITY COUNCIL BID

Neukirchstadt, October 23, 5466: After a meeting of the Neue Dundorfische Zenstrumspartei [NDZP) Leadership at its party headquarters in Neukirchstadt, former Chancellor Bruno Stachel was asked by ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER if anything new came up, and Stachel replied:

As a matter of strict fact, yes. We believe the current government will make a bid for Security Council Seat A in the World Congress. NDZP is very much in favor of the Bundesrepublk campaigning for this seat.

Why? There is much the World Congress could do and once did. It has shown signs of life after many moribund years finally banning nuclear weapons and getting back into the business of humanitarian relief to victims of the recent war in Artania.

Leadership is necessary to make the World Congress effective again, and the Bundesrepublik can provide it.

The decision on whether to take action against a nation for misconduct is one that is currently likely to be made by its neighbors. Or conceivably by a regional organization. Both of these are preferable to a self appointed arbiter of all conduct.

But much better would be if the wisdom of all Terra is brought to bear in the World Congress on whether the sovereignty of a nation should be breached. It is a serious matter that should not happen unless misconduct has occurred such as aggression against the sovereignty of another nation or serious abuse of a population by their own government.

Whether misconduct has actually occurred and whether diplomatic or economic sanctions or even armed intervention is necessary are questions all the civilized nations should be working on together.

The Bundesrepublik wants to make this happen.

Asked by ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER if he had plans to form another government, Stachel replied:

No, I am going back to Karl Ulrich Universitat in Unterschloss as Dean of the School of Engineering.That will keep me plenty busy.

UNTERSCHLOSS, ODERVELD - Big movement of people and machinery here in Unterschloss, as well as other parts of the Oderveld and Grozvic states, as servicepeople from our Heer, and the Royal Ground Component of Lourenne held, in the past days, a joint military exercise articulated in several phases and places. This represent the first time that a joint exercise between Dundorf and Lourenne has been held since the signing of the landmark Humanitarian Alliance in 5444.
As we said, the exercise took place in different phases, also thanks to Dundorf's morphology, which features both plain areas, hilly areas and mountainous areas, suitable for any kind of land military operation, particularly terrain adaptability, troop maneuverability, and endurance - as stated by the Lourennais Ministry of Defence. Our own Defence Minister, Niklas Weidinger, on the other hand, has also emphasized the role of Dundorf's machinery equipments and especially the Panzer divisions and Artillery and Air-to-surface misiles in a simulated warlike situation, testing its effectiveness in various terrains.
Foreign Minister Stella Bechtholdt has said that the exercise is a 'new step' in the history of Dundorf-Lourenne bilateral relations, 'and in the good direction', she added, shortly after confirming for the first time to the press that Dundorf is 'exploring' the possibility of a bid for the upcoming World Congress's Security Council election:

Are we interested [in a bid]? Yes, of course. When will it happen? Who knows.

DUNBURG, ODERVELD - The Federal Foreign Ministry has finally announced that the Internationaler Dunburger Institut, the international school funded by the Government, that our readers will remember having read here, will open its first schools across Artania and Terra, officially kicking the academic season by next October. A source described how these years were essential to recruit the personal, set up the buildings and allow the Ministry to negotiate with countries in order to get IDI operate in their territory, and the countries will be, starting this year, Lourenne, Kundrati, Luthori, Narikenland & Darnussia, Kirlawa and Beiteynu; with the possibility, the Ministry adds, that the Institut may be approved to operate in other nations before the start of this academic year.

We're very happy that already several nations decided to host the activities of the IDI in their territory...and my action will be directed at keeping them coming, we want IDI to be very big.

The IDI will be offering, after a task force determined the curriculum, courses on basic, intermediate and advanced Dundorfian language, a course on history, one in culture, habits and customs, a basic teaching on economics (particularly for those who wish to work in Dundorf after the school) and finally a basic course on Dundorfian law. After completion of the desired studies, students will be granted a diploma equivalent to a Dundorfian High School title, that will allow them to join a University in Dundorf for a reduced cost, while if they want to work, they will be recognized with an eased work visa process.

NKK BUILDING NUCLEAR POWER GENERATION PLANTS IN VOLZHAS AND RADULFSHAGEN

Unterschloss, April 23, 5468: Nationales Konsortium für Kernenergie (NKK), the government corporation owning and operating the Bundesrepublik’s nuclear power plants, has such plants close to Unterschloss, Oberegg, Lutzenkamp, Sudschloss-am-der-Czimnetz, Fuchstal, Nordenhaus and Neukirchstadt, NKK is now beginning construction of two new facilities, one in Volshaus and the other in Radulfshagen.

This is a step toward the goal of two nuclear plants in each Bundeslander which is part of our overall plan for the electrical grid to not use coal, petroleum or natural gas for heating or cooling or electrical power but rely on nuclear, hydroelectric, solar or wind generated electricity.

Nuclear power plants have never been intended to be the sole source of electricity in the Bundesrepublik; it has always been our intent to augment electricity generation with hydroelectric, wind and solar generated power.

Nuclear power plants are thermal power stations with the heat source being nuclear reactors. Fission in a reactor heats the reactor coolant which goes to a steam generator and heats water to produce steam that will drive a steam turbine connected to a generator of electricity. The condensed steam is captured in a cooling tower and pumped back into the steam generator.

The fission in nuclear reactors produces radioactivity so that a protective shield is becessary around them as well as aconcrete layer to help contain the radioactivity and protect reactors from unexpected impacts.

DRONE PROJECT COMPLETED

Defence Ministry, April 22, 5469: ODERVELD – LEUCHTFEUER sources in the Defence Ministry say the joint venture to produce a military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for the Luftwaffe has reached the stage where it can be produced now that the prototypes have been tested.

The project was undertaken at the behest of the Nationaler Verteidigungsrat‘s (NVR) Ableitung II for Oberokommando Luftwaffe (OKL) by Grozvic Unbemanntes Fluggerat (GUF) our long time drone producer, Gebirgsmunition (GBM) our foremost gunnery and munitions supplier and Donnerluft, our combat aircraft manufacturer, and subsequently joined by Kundrati Weapons Manufacturers (KWM), one of the foremost military contractors of the Kundrati Union.

The UAV may be sold by any of the firms involved in its development. In the Bundesrepublik it will be known as the GUF 250. KWM may well use another designation in the Kundrati Union. An initial order of 30 GUF 250’s has been ordered by Ableitung II for the OKL.

The four defence contractors are also working together on another UAV design primarily for use by ground forces.

The GUF 250 is a medium long range endurance remotely piloted UAV driven by twin turbo prop engines. The GUF 250 has mission capacity for reconnaissance, intelligence, surveillance and ground support with precision guided weapons.

The GUF 250 is 16 meters long and has a wingspan of 30 meters, a payload weight of 2300 kilograms and a maximum takeoff weight of 11000 kilograms. It has a cruising speed of 500 kilometers per hour, maximum endurance of 40 hours and a service ceiling of 13700 meters.

The GUF 250 is armed with laser guided bombs and air launched laser guided ground attack missiles with tandem shape charged warheads that are particularly useful against armored vehicles,

ALKAVON, NARIKENLAND & DARNUSSIA - Upon invitation of the N&D Foreign Minister, Stella Bechthold went to Alkavon, a town in the heart of the country, to attend the inauguration of the first ever Dundorfian Cultural Festival held in Narikenland and Darnussia, as part of a broader effort by the Pan-Dundorfian league to promote Dundorfian culture and unity. Bechtholdt came to town and held a speech alongside N&D top authorities, speaking about how much important are the Dundorf-N&D relations, linked by a common cultural heritage, and thanking the country's leadership for allowing the IDI school to operate there.

No-one should mistake that Dundorf and N&D are two countries that share a lot of common and core values and traits, and we'll always work to maintain an amicable relationship.

This festival, the Pan-Dundorfian League, and the newly established school are all items for international cooperation, says Prof. Frankenstein, a cultural expert, adding that they may be needed everywhere in the world, to promote harmony instead of hatred. Alongside the Minister, also a couple of classes from Dunburg's schools came in a exchange visit to Bannerhafen, the country's capital, partecipating in various activities promoted by the League.
