The ZPD Congress announces the results of the ZPD Primary Elections,
Wolfgang Weber (Liberal Front): 3,575,649 votes (72.7%) 146 seats
Niklas Beck (conservative front): 1,344,628 votes (27.3%) seats 54
total attendance: 4,920,277 votes (+231,647)
The ZPD Congress proclaims Mr. Weber as elected President of the Party. Mr. Weber decides to reconfirm Mrs. Koch as vice president of the Party.

The newly elected Weber opens a session of the ZPD Congress taking the floor.
Dear supporters of the ZPD,
our Party is grappling with an irrevocable decision, giving in to the VKPD's request or continuing the center policy that characterizes us. The Party has been accused of having approved laws that go against our workers and support extremist parties which, moreover, goes against our Statute. This party also wants to cancel the ZPD from Dundorf politics. The things we are accused of, I would like to point out, are not absolutely true, indeed they are inventions.
The ZPD has never gone against any party in this country and indeed we have always sought a collaboration with all the possible interlocutors and therefore it seems to us that there is an unjustified hatred by a part of the Government coalition.
It is on this basis that the ZPD asks to cease this hatred which makes our country even more divided than it already is.
I leave you to vote on the 1st question of the day:
Do you want the ZPD to accept the VKPD request which requires the resignation of all ZPD members of Parliament and which makes the Party inactive nationwide?
Votation result: YES 3, NO 190, ABSTAIN 7. The Assembly reject VKPD request.
2nd question:
Do you want to commission President Weber to seek a pacification between the parties (VKPD-ZPD)?
YES 150, NO 49, ABSTAIN 1
--
The Assembly also decides to continue to abstain in parliamentary votes.

ZPD submits to ban, VKPD becomes largest political party in Dundorf, promises "swift reforms"

November 17, 4341
Zerlin, Hauptstadt der DDR
11:15 PM

The ZPD, after calling early elections, for reasons unknown, disbanded their party, presumably submitting to the ban imposed in the left coalition's Socialist Protection Bill. Elections had been called, and the left coalition, consisting of only two parties now, the SED and VKPD, have achieved an enormous majority in the Bundestag, with the VKPD taking the most seats, at an astounding 373. However, the presidency was not won by them. Rather, it was the SED. The VKPD promises "swift and sweeping reforms" to usher in the 2nd DDR, after having been struck down twice by the ZPD. Celebrations are being held all across Dundorf, from Zerlin to Dosmund, the home town of the founder of Communism, Karlstein Metz. The Dundorfische Volksarmee held a massive parade across Zerlin's busiest thoroughfare, conducting military marches and even commencing a rifle drill. Standing unopposed, the left coalition has radically shifted from opposition, to governing coalition. It seems we may finally get our wish for a socialist Dundorf once again.

VKPD finish building of new party headquarters in Dosmund, named the "Volkspalast", Volkskammer receives socialist cosmetic changes

November 15, 4342
Dosmund, Hauptstadt der DDR
10:30 AM

After construction began immediately after the left's victory in the Dundorfian Civil War, the new party headquarters of the VKPD, located in Dosmund, the Haupstadt der DDR and home town of Karlstein Metz, has finally been completed. The Volkspalast, a stunningly modern structure features several amenities, from offices for the party's Sicherheitskräfte, to a massive room for the party's congresses. The Karlstein Metz statue previously located at the Zerlin headquarters was removed from its base and relocated to Dosmund as well. The christening ceremony was attended by several members of the party, as well as the government. The new national emblem of the DDR was also proudly emblazoned above the entrance, encased in bronze. A massive gala then commenced, with food and celebrations all around. Meanwhile, in Zerlin, the Bundestag, now named the Volkskammer, has received several new changes and upgrades, most notably a room design change for the main parliament, and the installment of the DDR's emblem at the bottom of the room.

Volkskammer ratifies several treaties, reaches historic consensus of abandonment of isolationism

June 9, 4343
Zerlin, Politisches Hauptquartier der DDR

Delegates from the Volkskammer have been presented several treaties brought forth by the SED, promoting internationalism. Delegates from the VKPD, currently at the time of this publication the largest party in government, with representatives dominating both the Staatsrat and Ministerrat, voted yes on most proposals, but voted no on only one, being the United Nations of Terra treaty. The VKPD encouraged the SED to draft another treaty encouraging a union between socialist and communist parties, as well as current socialist states across Terra. The VKPD's second party official, Ortwin Zellweger, an official "chief" delegate for the VKPD in the Volkskammer, agreed unanimously with most of the treaties as well. He noted that it was difficult in considering the consensus on the United Nations of Terra treaty, but in the end disagreed, prompting the vote of no on it. The party was however in favor of re-entering Dundorf as a member of the Artanian Union. With the historic consensus of the massive amount of treaties being drafted, and subsequently approved, Dundorf's longstanding tradition of isolationism has seemingly finally eroded away.

Members of the Volkskammer, it was difficult for us to determine a consensus on a vote for the United Nations of Terra treaty, but ultimately, in a rare instance, we vote no. The United Nations of Terra has fallen out of political activity in recent decades, with rarely any conferences being called, with the much smaller Artanian Union being much more active, and they are only a continental alliance between nations of North and South Artania. You saw that we were more in favor of drafting Dundorf's re-entrance in the Artanian Union, after the nationalist and capitalist parties of yesteryear dismantled our nation's membership in it. We hope to enroll in the Artanian Union and cooperate more with comrades of socialist and communist parties in member nations, bringing us more closer together in socialist brotherhood. However, we suggest and encourage the SED to possibly draft a treaty that would call for an economic and military alliance of leftist nations across Terra. Whether or not they choose to heed our suggestion is up to them. It is clear to us, however, that we have abandoned Dundorf's long history of isolationism. And frankly, it has gone out with not even one whimper of protest.

SED III.PARTEITAG: VICTORY FOR ALL
From our own correspondent

"The socialist revolution is there! You did it, you made this great achievement possible, workers of Dundorf!". During his opening statement SED's partychairman, Rheinhart Lager mentioned this almost ten times. He received a standing ovation of the 235 members of the Parteitag of almost 20 minutes. Something I've never experienced before. Lager also congratulayed and thanks their comrades of the VKPD. "Together we managed to change and modernize our beloved nation ito an worker's paradise". Vorsitzender des Staatsrates, Otto Grund and Vorsitzender des Ministerrates, Kurt Brandenkraft also thanked the Volskummunisten and the electorate to make this all happen. Brandenkraft said that the Dundorfische Demokratische Republik is back with more strength and conviction than ever before. We will become more international, equal opportunities for all, a great health care system and above all happy people! However, there were some warnings to those who still believe in the "dark pages of the past". This revolution will be defended at all costs: you are with us , the workers of the DDR or else there is no place for you in our Republik.
The outcome of the Parteitag-elections were also announced:

Total number of seats: 235
Kommunistische Vereins Faktion (KVF): 32 % (-13 %)
Arbeiter Geselschafts Bund (AGB): 31 % (+6 %)
Sozialistische Bauern Union (SBU) : 10% ( -5 %
Frauen Gleichberechtigungs Gruppe (FGG) : 19% (+4 %)
Internationale Studenten Verband (ISV): 16 % (+8%)

There were some who left the SED for the comrades of the VKPD and that explains the rise of the FGG and ISV. "We have become more feminist and younger", a party official commented. The III.Parteitag ended with singing the national anthem.

VKPD votes no on Dorvish Trade Association and Economic Pact, refuses to recognize Dorvik's claim of King of Dundorf

December 6, 4343
Zerlin, Politisches Hauptquartier der DDR

In a fiery speech to the Volkskammer today, Ortwin Zellweger denounced the signing of the Dorvish Trade Association and Economic Pact treaty, on the grounds that it violated the core principles of their party, and subsequently the 2nd DDR. The VKPD went on to criticize the Kaiser of Dundorf, Ludwig III, refusing to acknowledge his title of "King of the Dundorfian Reich", despite it being mostly symbolic. Zellweger then stated that the government should impose economic sanctions on Dorvik, to weaken their nation and commit to the goals of eliminating monarchism, as outlined by the SED's willingness to join several anti-monarchist organizations, and subsequently the VKPD.

It would be the suicide of our great republic to dare align with these monarchists. They are reactionary forces and will stop at nothing to uphold their archaic order, no matter if it has recently been reformed. If we are to truly push the revolution towards other nations on this earth, then we must not align ourselves with these relative-fornicating bastards. Such a ridiculous and archaic notion to follow to "keep the blood pure". Instead, we should weaken them at any chance that we'll get. Signing economic sanctions against Dorvik would be the most favorable example. From then on, we can align ourselves with the Dorvish Kommunistische Partei, and begin to sow the seeds of revolution on the continent of Artania. We have already begun basking in the benefits of socialism, and we must further champion this ideology beyond the border. Man is not free unless they are cut from the shackles of imperialism and monarchism!

Zellweger conducts his fiery speech to members of the Volkskammer.

Zellweger's speech caused quite a stir, even from fellow party comrades, both within their own and the SED. Whether or not the Volkskammer will follow up on these claims is unknown as of now. Seeing as though the Dundorfian Civil War ended a mere two years ago, the thought of another conflict is unwanted by many within the nation. Such fiery remarks by the VKPD seem to indicate that it may not be far from actually considering such actions, but only time will tell.

Erhard Bayer sworn in as official replacement for late Minister of Foreign Affairs Thorben Schwenke, promises "swift resolution" to Dorvik Question

November 21, 4344
Zerlin, Politisches Hauptquartier der DDR

The VKPD last summer submitted a cabinet proposal to the Volkskammer on the replacement of Foreign Minister Thorben Schwenke, who had not been present at his post for an astonishing two years, his duties being occasionally performed by an associate or fellow comrade Jürgen Kirschner, who was previously Acting Foreign Minister during the time of the Provisional Government of the DDR. Finally Ortwin Zellweger broke the silence, proclaiming that he had died of a thunderclap heart attack in September 4342, not long after a session of the Staatsrat, of which he had been an observing member of. His family wished for privacy, but after questions of incompetence of a government official were raised, Zellweger violated the family's wishes, on the grounds of national security. His formal replacement, Erhard Bayer, was sworn in today, at a ceremony in the Volkskammer. Bayer then gave a speech to the delegation, promising a "swift resolution" to the Dorvik Question through what he referred to as "cool and calculated diplomacy". The young politician of only 38 years old has had a history of civil service, graduating from the prestigious Metz University of Political Sciences in Dosmund, at the age of 23. From then on he would serve various positions in the former Bundesrepublik, such as being an agent in the Dundorfian Intelligence Service (Dundorfische Nachrichtendienst). Upon his membership in the VKPD, he was appointed their unofficial ambassador to the Communist League of Terra. Bayer is scheduled to fly to both the headquarters of the Northern Council, and subsequently the HQ of the Artanian Union, seeing as though Dundorf was recently re-admitted into the organization, and conduct speeches. It is largely expected that his speeches will be regarding the recent "Dorvik Question", the conflict over the Königreich Dorvik's claim that their King, Ludwig III, is "Kaiser of the Dundorfian Reich", a nation that has been extinct for over two millennia. The VKPD has since obliged the King to drop the position from his royal title, despite it being mostly symbolic. The Kingdom's lack to remove the title at the suggestion of the party hopes to be formally discussed upon the arrival of Bayer to these locations. Tensions seem to be rising between our great arbeiter und bauernstaat and the reactionary forces in the north. Whether or not this conflict will be resolved with diplomacy, be it written or spoken, has yet to be known.

Der Globus: PdM Emerge Under Principled Leadership

Image
Partei des dundorfischen Mittelstandes chairwoman Theresia Amelie Auerswald.

Neukirchstadt, Oderveld - 20 January 4345

Earlier this week a new political party was proclaimed to challenge the reigning Communists. The Partei des dundorfischen Mittelstandesr (Party of the Dundorfian Middle Class) has found itself as the sole opposition despite not holding a seat in the Volkskammer.

The PdM is an umbrella organization of several factions. Under this umbrella rest the owners of small- and middle-sized business enterprises, the so-called Mittelstand of Dundorf and the traditional backbone of the nation's economy, although in recent years they have found much of their profits and their businesses seized or nationalized with little-to-no compensation.

Naturally, while holding a refreshing pro-business attitude, the PdM also encompasses general conservatives and monarchists who look longingly at the stability of the Dundorf's northern neighbor Dorvik which has long held off the tides of leftism that ebb and flow in Dundorf.

"The people are tired of such dramatic changes, both left and right," observes Theresia Amelie Auerswald, chairwoman of the PdM. "What they want is rule from the center. Let us build such a nation and work alongside those whom we disagree politically. For we all agree that Dundorf needs to improve and be pulled into the modern world. We isolate ourselves at our peril. Here's too a new order in this country!"
