Neues Dundorf: Beatrix Wagner Adresses A Grieving Dundorf

Zerlin; 1 June, 4323, 12:30 PM
Beatrix Wagner, Kanzler of the NAP-VF since 4315, has just finished her first appearance since the terror attacks in Zerlin. Flanked by police, she gave an inspiring speech to a small crowd of reporters, with Neues Dundorf in attendance. Until further notice, she has now been evacuated from Zerlin, for her safety. An excerpt from her speech is as follows;

"In the light of the rise of the far right, violence has erupted in our cherished capitol, and in a day that will forever be remember, in the hearts of all Dundorfians, we lost a great many good and patriotic Dundorfians. We cannot give up hope, however, and must move forward, both as a party, and as a nation. As such, the NAP-VF will be moving its primary headquarters to Zarkitsch until further notice. It is not advisable, however, to ignore a problem, lest it fester and grow into one too big to tame. Therefore my colleagues in the Bundestag will be introducing a measure to introduce a state of emergency in Zerlin, until this can all be sorted out."

Neues Dundorf can now also give the final death tally in the explosion at the NAP-VF headquarters; 149. In total, the attacks have cost the lives of around 180 Dundorfians in less than a week. This tragedy is one that will not be soon forgotten.

President moves on Zerlin, action overdue

Zerlin: 1 June 4323, 6pm

In his first public appearance since demonstrations began a week and a half ago, Bundespräsident Jakob Weisel fronted the media flanked by the Bundesstaatpräsident of Oderveld and Franz Müller, the Mayor of Zerlin.

Good evening. I would like to begin by acknowledging the tragic and deeply disturbing events of the past few days, not least the senseless murder of Najwa al-Emami and the bombing of the NAP-VF headquarters. I, and my counterparts beside me, condemn the perpetrators of these vile acts in the strongest possible terms and can assure all Dundorfians that our police and defence forces, at both a state and federal level, are working together to bring those responsible to a swift justice.

Image

Weisel went on describe a series of legislative actions enacted by the Bundestag and Cabinet aimed at ameliorating the situation in Zerlin. The budget of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been increased by 40% (or 12 billion DUM) in a move described as temporary. This additional funding is set to be used to strengthen police numbers, fund overtime, and improve operational and tactical equipment and resources in response to the current crisis. To aid police and emergency services in this endeavor, the Bundestag has passed the Emergency Powers Act granting police the power to disperse crowds where a risk is posed to public safety, mandating open carry on all weapons, and substantially restricting gun ownership and use nationally. The Bundestag have also declared an official state of emergency in Oderveld stipulating curfews for children (8pm) and adults (10pm) and weapons bans in public places until further notice.

Police update on investigation into al-Emami murder, NAP-VF HQ bombing

Zerlin: 1 June 4323, 7pm

Shortly after the conclusion of the president's media conference the Chief of the Dundorfian National Police, Matthias Sammer, fronted the media to provide an update on the investigations into the al-Emami murder and the NAP-VF HQ bombing.

If I could start by saying that the following is an update on two concurrent investigations into the murder of a federal politician and the bombing of the HQ of a national political organisation. Both investigations are ongoing, the situation is fluid, and so the information I am able to provide may be limited due to operational security.

I can confirm that national police have arrested a 32 year old Dundorfian national by the name of Christoph Borg in relation to the murder of Ms. Najwa al-Emami on 22nd May 4323. Following interrogation of the suspect and careful analysis of the crime scene and available CCTV footage from the time of the shooting, Mr Borg has now been charged with her murder. It is our belief at this time that Mr Borg was acting alone.

The investigation into the bombing of the NAP-VF HQ is still ongoing. Several arrests have been made but no charges laid. All available resources have now been pooled into solving this case. Bomb technicians from the national police are collaborating with experts from the Dundorfian Armed Forces to identify the mechanics of the bomb itself in an attempt to identify any features that may link it to any individual or organisation. It is pre-emptive at this stage to say whether the incident was carried out by a terrorist cell but it is not unreasonable to believe that the bombing was politically motivated. We will update the media as further information comes to hand.

Neues Dundorf: Protesters Clash Yet Again in Zerlin!

Zerlin; 30th June, 4323, 5 PM

As the government of Dundorf moved to respond to the crisis in Zerlin, police forces attempted to break up a crowd amassing in the streets consisting of pro-AfD demonstrators, shouting, "You can't control our guns!" - an apparent response to the Weisel administration's limitation of the right to bear arms, a measure introduced by the NAP-VF which holds considerable support across all parties in the Bundestag. Down the street, however, was gathering a much more ominous threat; a mysterious group known simply to Neues Dundorf as the "Arbeiterwache." Dressed all in black, they also carried weapons, in defiance of the government's orders. According to credible sources, this organization has sprung up as an anti-AfD response all across Dundorf, but concentrated in Zerlin. Their leader shouted into a megaphone, saying that it was time for Dundorf to "stand up." The two groups clashed, despite heavy attempts by riot police to stop them, and shots were exchanged from both sides, with early estimates placing about 10 deaths. The riot police swiftly swept in, apprehending multiple people and spraying tear gas, dispersing the mob as best they could. It is becoming more and more apparent however that the government may not be prepared to deal with a crisis of this magnitude, with many calling for the military to intervene.

Government announce Zerlin vehicle restrictions

Zerlin; 1st July, 4323, 2AM

In an overnight joint press release the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Elisabetha Hemmes, and the Mayor of Zerlin, Franz Müller, announced new restrictions on transport movements in and around the city. Effective immediately the Zerlin CBD has been declared a vehicle-free zone while all interstate and regional train and bus services will now terminate on the city limits. Increased tram and subway services are being rolled out to help move people around the CBD. City workers with the support of staff from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport have constructed temporary bollards across major access points overnight to enforce compliance with the new restrictions.

The move appears aimed at reducing the likelihood of further attacks on crowds by cars and trucks as well as discouraging the continued mass movement of protesters and anti-protesters into the capital. In a later press conference, the minister reinforced her strong belief in the right of citizens to peaceful public assembly but noted that this right is subject to restrictions, such as those announced, that are 'necessary and reasonable' for protecting public safety.

Neues Dundorf:Schäfer's election campaign stalled amidst terrorist attacks, Ernst Steindorf nearly avoids serious injury

July 2, 4323
Grausburg, Zarkitsch
1:30 pm

Generalsekretär Schäfer's year-round campaign for the 4325 elections has hit a stall, upon receiving news of the devastating terrorist attacks in Zerlin. Accompanied by Armeegeneral Anton Keßler, as well as a considerable chunk of the DAF's General Staff, at a party luncheon in Grausburg, in the southeastern state of Zarkitsch. Previously a jubilant and talkative crowd quickly fell silent when Herr Keßler was given a report from Zerlin. He addressed the crowd, shocked, but kept composure. Announcing to party officials present, as well as Schäfer, that multiple protests had turned violent between anti-AfD protesters and the supporters, as well as the devastating terror attacks that destroyed the party headquarters of the NAP-VF, and the dastardly murder of Najwa al-Emami. Herr Schäfer then made a quick, improvised statement, saying that he would continue to campaign for Bundespräsident, but will focus more on the current state of Dundorf, encouraging others to rise up against the AfD and call for the removal of nationalist politics from the nation. Keßler and other members of the General Staff present asserted that the army would do its best whenever called upon. However, he still reiterated the statement of the VKPD achieving large support within the army, and seemingly hinted at harsh action being taken against the nationalist terrorism that has befallen Zerlin. Generalsekretär Schäfer also commented that the party had in advance resubmitted its Party Security Bill to the Bundestag, and with the current turn of events, is likely to garner more support for the creation of unarmed, heavily regulated paramilitary organizations.

A shocked, but composed Anton Keßler (center, speaking) addresses the VKPD of the tragic events that occurred in Zerlin.

In Zerlin, the Steindorf family just barely avoided serious injury after protests occurred in their neighborhood, which quickly became violent. A group of protesters, whom police have not been able to definitively prove their allegiance to, broke into the Steindorfs backyard and began setting objects on fire. The flames quickly spread to the home, after a spark had ignited a row of hedges. Ernst Steindorf, son of the late Otto Steindorf, the former founder of the FDGB, quickly gathered his family and left the residence, dodging clashing protesters as he attempted to reach his car. Being unable to, Ernst began running on foot towards the nearest hospital, as he had discovered a shard of glass lodged in his left arm. He was swiftly ushered into the emergency room and received surgery to remove the glass. Coming mere inches near an artery, Steindorf narrowly avoided death by blood loss. After the surgery was completed, he was treated for minor cuts and bruises. The remainder of the Steindorf family was shuttled to a nearby hotel by local police.

These ludicrous and coward accusations are totally unacceptable, we will focus on the fact that the leader of the Socialists has died and I will confirm that she has died in the hospital with cancer not with murder. The AfD does not tolerate violence but we will be in power soon, and we will control the culture and what goes in as propaganda will come out. This is a short message and a very very stern one.Image
The image shows that the Commuinsts have dropped the bomb and the police will deal with it.
This Propaganda must stop now and the left will be stopped said the leader of the AfD. If the crowd was that large I’m sure 50% Dundorfians in Oderveld would have easily stopped any “protests against us”of course we will look into these catastrophic murder.Image

Neues Dundorf: Protests Surge Across Dundorf!

Dundorf; 11th October, 4323, 6 PM

After the recent insensitive and out of touch words of the AfD, there has been a surge of protests across all of Dundorf, in major cities such as Rittersheim, Karlsborn, Unterschloss, and Nordenhaus. It is unclear if they will delve into such chaos as did the Zerlin riots, but we are sure the government will be watching these protests closely. As both pro-AfD and anti-AfD agents have rallied in these cities, they certainly are powder kegs, waiting for one spark to ignite the next Zerlin.

Beatrix Wagner, Kanzler of the NAP-VF, has appeared in public again, this time in Barberg, in the NAP-VF's new headquarters.

"The AfD cannot pretend their words do not inflame the inferno burning throughout our country. They cannot pretend that Madame al-Emami died "of cancer." They cannot pretend they are not causing our once peaceful streets to fill with riots and death. And no longer can the DPD pretend the AfD is only a political ally."

Neues Dundorf:Breaking: VKPD, seeing their third reintroduction of their Party Security Bill as a loss, purchases a non-profit security agency

November 13, 4323
Zerlin, 10:30 AM

Despite the growing violent activity in the capital, and the horrendous attacks carried out on other left-wing parties, with the far-right quickly becoming a reasonable culprit, opposition parties of the left bloc have still rejected the VKPD's Party Security Bill, which would allow parties to create paramilitary organizations with heavy regulations, citing the police as an effective force for containing the attacks. The VKPD, unconvinced, have purchased a non-profit security agency, and re-equipped them with new uniforms, rank structures, and approved weapons set by the party, which were the same outlined in their bill. The party has even introduced registration opportunities into the security force to young members of the party, which, after the current events, have surged in membership. The VKPD, championing this achievement, have released numbers of current personnel, which number around the 20,000 mark. However, this action has stirred up heavy controversy, mostly chalked up by the opposition parties. Thorben Schwenke, Deputy General Secretary of the VKPD, conducted a press conference, and met their concerns head on, with Neues Dundorf including a transcript of the statement.

"Seeing as though the opposition parties have denied our bill, which had heavy regulations that limited the power of paramilitary organizations to parties, we have decided to purchase a non-profit security agency which will serve as the party's semi-independent security forces. We will adhere to the regulations we proposed in our bill. We will put these security personnel in the areas we outlined in our bill as well. The public, as well as our friends in the left bloc, and the opposition parties, have nothing to fear. Our actions are perfectly rational, given the current events."

Image
A weary Thorben Schwenke answers questions by journalists present at the press conference.

The VKPD has already rolled out its security personnel, named the Sicherheitskräfte der VKPD, to its party headquarters, and even settled a protest between pro far-right activists and anti-AfD activists, near their Karlstein Metz statue at their party headquarters. Reporters from Neues Dundorf were on the scene and had the opportunity to photograph the aforementioned security forces.

I think soldiers are basically waiting their time. I would join the AfD if I was them, which will deliver to the Dundorfian people, not shouting slogans in public that our children hear!
