Neues Dundorf is a largely left-wing newspaper that covers mostly left-wing ideologies, from social democracy to communism.
Founded in Vögelberg, it is the nation's longest-running left-wing news organization.
New Supermarket formed by Labor Union leader Berndt Metzinger
Nordenhaus, 13 March 4533 (OOC: Slightly postdated)
Berndt Metzinger, a local Labor Union leader within the workers state of Dunlake, has established a new supermarket,
named Express-Markt, which he claims will focus on a fast and customer friendly shopping experience.
Local Labor Union Chairman Berndt Metzinger, of the Dunlake branch for Dundorf's second largest Labor Union, the Dundorfischer Arbeiterbund, or Dundorfian Labor Federation (DLF) has recently pooled together funds to open his first supermarket in the city of Nordenhaus for consumer testing. Metzinger's Union presides mostly over produce and some animal husbandry sectors, with Metzinger himself having been a former financier of a private supermarket chain during the years of the Bundesrepublik. His expansion into forming a supermarket of his own was seemingly destined to occur. Having cut the grand opening tape of his first supermarket to much fanfare, he hopes that his unique approach to consumer produce will pay off, which he states will ultimately decide if he wishes to open similar stores across Dunlake.
Metzinger's aforementioned unique approach to the traditional model of supermarkets involves one that favors fast shopping, hence the name "Express-Markt", along with a customer friendly shopping experience. Prices of items are often low, with employee wages being considerably high, at a standard flat rate of 12 marks for all workers. Revenue for all sales will also be split as evenly as possible after the usual 50/50 cut with the state. Metzinger plans to allow for a customer friendly experience by way of an app that can be freely downloaded onto a customer's cellphone, which will allow for online ordering and in-store or at-home pickup of produce or other groceries.
Neues Dundorf was able to send a field reporter to the store, with said journalist having been taken aback by the modern setup of the supermarket. With no little than ten employees in a store at a given time, the short staff seemingly doubled productivity and efficiency, largely helped by the seemingly autonomous nature of the store, a stark contrast to the grocery stores of other state-run companies. The first Express-Markt was also full of locally sourced meat and produce, with some customers remarking at the sheer freshness of products on store shelves. Touring his own store throughout the test, Metzinger was repeatedly extremely satisfied with the results, stating that with such a strong positive response to the first store, expansion into other local cities and villages of Dunlake is inevitable.
