His Grace Vasya Romanovich Mashkov, 2nd Duke of Petrovgrad, NSZ, TVKS, VP, NTP, BZ has died at his home in Petrovgrad. The Duke was born into the lap of luxury, growing up as his father was Viceroy and brushing elbows with the business and hereditary elite of the nation.
While growing up in Heinrichgrad he attended the prestigious City University of Petrovgrad before he was elected as Boyar Deputy from Petrovgrad, a seat that his name all but guaranteed.
Shortly after the sudden death of his father, Vasya inherited the Duke of Petrovgrad title and was quickly taken by the Young Guard Party for grooming for the Viceroy position.
From point forward, the young Duke was given the all-important Minister of Trade & Industry positions within the Cabinet, which he held for more than a decade. In the uncontested election of 2935, Vasya Mashkov, 2nd Duke of Petrograd ran for and won the Viceroy of HRNH Great Prince Ferdinand I, Steward of the State, and Deputy of the People.

The early 2950s witnessed several high-profile corruption charges within the Young Guards as well as the possibility of war between Badara and Selucia which would threaten Trigunia’s supply of fuel oil. Despite being an advocate for peace, the Duke presented the nation’s ability to use force during the incident.
The Duke refused to run for reelection in the 2956 election, instead, handpicking the long-time Chief Boyar Sergey M. Zhiroff, NTP, MRP for the role and he retired to his home in Petrovgrad.
In early 2960, the long cigarette smoking Duke was diagnosed with lung cancer which eventually took his life on 2 June 2960, a year to the day that his daughter, Lady Hanna Mashkova became Vicereine.
Duke Vasya Mashkov leaves behind his wife Roza, two daughters Hanna and Vera, and five grandchildren.
