Prime Minister, Foreign Minister condemn Deltarian allegations.

The Bashnya, Rodshyadam -Trigunian Prime Minister Ludmil Frolov, Foreign Minister Sonya Sokolova and others held a press conference in regards to recent allegations from the Deltarian Congressional Assassination Committee. Trigunia once again denied the involvement of any Trigunian government officials and the whole of Trigunia in the assassination attempt. "As stated clearly by President Vlasov, the Trigunian Federation had no hand in the assassination of the Deltarian President. I cannot stress enough that we have provided every shred of evidence we can to prove we had no involvement. The clear escalation on the part of Deltaria is incredibly worrying and dangerous to international peace and stability. Should Deltaria respond, illegally might I add, the Trigunian Federation will defend itself and its people." The Prime Minister continued on regarding the status of the investigation which was conducted by the State Security Service with the assistance of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Trigunian Police which basically turned up what President Vlasov had stated prior: Trigunia had no involvement in the assassination and no proof exists between the assassin and any official government agency or official of the Trigunian government.

The Trigunian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also raised concerns regarding the comments allegedly from Dolgava in the Deltarian newspaper which cited the attempts to "..."uncover Trigunia's crimes everywhere", an apparent reference to the devastating terrorist attacks that struck that country last July." The Foreign Minister condemned the attack on the Dolgavian legislature and offered whatever assistance that they could have in that moment. "It seems woefully apparent that the Trigunian people are being scapegoated for terrorist actions and barbarism for no reason whatsoever. This is what happens when nations such as Trigunia attempt to assert themselves as for sovereign rights and the opposition to infringement on that sovereignty. I do not understand the attacks, false attacks I might add, on Trigunia." The Foreign Minister reiterated that Trigunia itself has had to contend with terrorism and terrorist attacks internally. The Foreign Minister referencing the outbreak of religious terrorism in the semi-autonomous Vlozen Republic which has had an extended deployment of the Trigunian National Guard there, much to the chagrin of local religious and political leadership.

While unofficial, the Trigunian Ministry of Defense has reportedly notified the General Staff to be on heightened alert.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Economic Development Kuzma Ivanov announced that Trigunia would be again reducing the production of oil and gas due to lingering demand in certain regions, notably in Majatra. The move, likely aimed as a shot across the bow of Deltaria who has accused Trigunia of assassinating its President without any definitive proof, has prompted the price of Bier Qassem crude to rise to nearly $92.37 LOD. The last increase in BQC was in 5199 when Trigunia announced that they were slowing down oil and gas production. The prices held steady as both North Dovani and Trigunia cooperated on a new oil and gas pipeline in Utari Mosir but the recent tensions between Deltaria and Trigunia, the privitization efforts in Kafuristan and uncertainty facing Vascania has prompted a rush in prices which places a single barrel of crude oil to nearly $93 LOD. Ivanov spoke regarding Neftkomp's slow down in production and cited the difficulty of now transporting oil and gas across the seas due to increased tension with "...neighboring countries and those abroad who most utilize our oil." The price increase is likely to further strain consumers across the globe as Trigunia continues to sit chiefly at the top of the oil and gas charts despite active governments in Kafuristan, Vascania, North Dovani (a Tier II producer) and Dorvik (another Tier II producer). Ivanov stated that the efforts of the Dorvish to stave off prices increases were "...admirable..." but were otherwise futile as the Dorvish industry cannot match the industries of the Big 5.

The Bashyna, Radin Oblast - Foreign Minister Sonya Sokolova confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had suspended the Deltarian-Trigunia Friendship and Trade Agreement. The mainstay of the treaty is Article VII which proscribes that a guaranteed 1b barrels of oil will be delivered per annum at market prices, the Foreign Minister noted that this will be reduced progressively until the delivery is totally suspended. This was in addition to Article VIII which will likewise be progressively suspended. "The reckless behavior of Deltaria with accusing a sovereign government of assassination with nothing more then superficial evidence is the cause of this diplomatic row." The Foreign Minister then recapped the recent crisis between Deltaria and Trigunia capping off with: "If every time someone of Delic Deltarian descent committed a crime in Trigunia we cried that it was the act of the Deltarian government, we'd never have peace. This is not the way the world works. Actions have consequences, the behavior of Deltaria has contributed to increased prices for crude oil, notably in the risk of transport as Deltaria has now threatened military action." When questioned about the suspension of the treaty the Foreign Minister continued. "Naturally when the Deltarian government began to accuse Trigunia we immediately halted Article VI, but now we are progressively halting Articles VII and VIII as a response to the continued aggression of Deltaria." When questioned about the current years production of oil and natural gas, the Trigunian government stated it would be placed into a strategic reserve to reduce prices domestically.

President Vlasov addresses nation: cautious tone towards Deltaria; Neftkomp to step-up production

The Bashnya, Rodshyadam - Trigunian President Makar Vlasov addressed the State Duma late today regarding the recent announcement by the Deltarian Prime Minister regarding the "Trigunian Affair". "We finally have the truth. This entire thing was an attack on Trigunia by members of a Deltarian political party. The individual assassin, acting in no concert with the Trigunian government, was obsessed with some actress and carried out this vicious, brutal attack and then instead of actively investigating the actual cause, the National Conscious party as a whole decided to blame Trigunia. This is wholly unacceptable." The President elaborated that the Trigunian's would careful consider their relationship with their Delic brothers in the south and reiterated that this attack by them has caused undue harm across the entire globe, notably in the sudden rise in gas and oil prices. "The actions of Deltaria were continually escalating and caused Trigunia to take defensive measures to protect itself and its people." The President's address was televised and he stated that the "situation" with Deltaria would continue until he felt that the Deltarian's had made it clear that the anti-Trigunian bias in their government had been completely gone. The President noted that he had directed Neftkomp to increase production due to the tentative resumption of normal shipments to Majatra. "While we will continue to suspend the Deltaria-Trigunia Friendship and Free Trade Agreement, I have ordered Neftkomp to increase production and once again resume active, full shipments to Majatra." The decision of the President is likely to lower the prices of Bier Qassem Crude, the price index which a barrel of oil is based on relieving strains across the globe.

Prime Minister Ludmil Frolov gave a press conference today at the city of Traktorgrad to commemorate the opening of the first major automobile factory of GAZ, a Trigunian automobile maker. The factory which was operational on September 7th, 1932, was one of the first of its kind in Trigunia and continues to serve on the grounds of the main headquarters of Traktorgrad. GAZ continues to be one of the top corporations in Trigunia and has markets across the world, notably in Dovani and Majatra where GAZ vehicles, both civilian and military models. The Prime Minister lauded the historical success of Gilyov Automobile Factory, better known as GAZ and stated that they were a "national champion" of Trigunia and one of the pillars of the Trigunian economy.

The Prime Minister also cited the recent Bier Qassem Crude which has dropped from its price of $92.37 LOD in 5205 to $89.17 LOD in 5207 and as of September, 5208 has dropped to $73.46 LOD per barrel. Yuralovo oils, the reference list for Trigunian oil is trading at roughly $70.80 LOD per barrel, Yuralovo traditionally trades lower then the Bier Qassem Crude. The Prime Minister noted that the news was "...positive for the global economy and showed the good efforts of the Trigunian government in attempting to avoid a looming oil crisis." Despite the best intentions of the Trigunian government there are reports that the Trigunian government expended an "amount" of cash reserves in order to engage in this so-called "engineered" crisis. The Trigunian government denies such accusations but has stated openly that the reasons for the slow down were due to increased production constraints, engineering and safety concerns in addition to threats of violence from Deltaria towards vessels traveling to Majatra and in the southern hemisphere of Terra.

Defense Minister Zhukov announces overhaul to Trigunian Armed Forces, end of conscription.

The Bashnya, Rodshyadam - Minister of Defense Army General Agripin Zhukov confirmed that the Trigunian Armed Forces would face a "down-sizing effort" in the next several years as the Trigunian Armed Forces seek to eliminate conscription as per an order of President Vlasov. There have been efforts to eliminate conscription within the Trigunian military for several decades, perhaps centuries, but none have ever proved successful. Internally the Trigunian Armed Forces were converting personnel from conscripts to either full time, professional contract soldiers or they were being discharged if they did not want to voluntarily re-enlist. The Main Directorate of Personnel of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff's Main Organizational Mobilization Directorate (GOUM) have worked over the past year at the direction of the Supreme Commander, President Vlasov, to come up with plans for professionalization of the armed forces. President Vlasov wanted the effort to be complete by January, 5210 and it appears that it will be. The current standing of the Trigunian Armed Forces is roughly 1.2m personnel, with approximately 600,000 of them being conscripted personnel serving as necessary. General Zhukov confirmed that by January, 5210 the Trigunian Armed Forces will be roughly a quarter of what it is currently, around 800,000 personnel. Reporters were permitted to question the Minister of Defense, a rare chance, and they questioned how the branches would be given priority and the Minister of Defense stated that the Trigunian Ground Forces and the Trigunian Navy would be given priority, the Trigunian Aerospace Forces will be third and other branches will be provided as needed. The Minister of Defense also noted that certain positions will now be filled by civilian personnel instead of military personnel, freeing up military personnel and reducing some costs.

In order to entice contract soldiers, the Ministry of Defense announced that the starting contract for a Trigunian soldier or sailor would be roughly 3,000 Trigunian Rabols, approximately 500 Rabols higher than the per capita income of Trigunia as a whole. The Ministry of Defense also announced that they would be re-developing the career possession track, reforming the selection process for special forces in addition to military specialties. The changes to the Armed Forces of Trigunia come at a time as Trigunia is attempting to re-invent itself as a major player in world politics, something that it feels it has failed at in recent years. The Minister of Defense also noted that they would be removing "bloat" from the military, notably in formations.

Project 23900 enters pre-production, Vrosnok 5212 ordered.

The Bashnya, Rodshyadam - The Trigunian Defense Ministry announced that the Trigunian government formally approved the Project 23900 amphibious assault ship to begin pre-production. The design, going to be known as the Priboy-class Amphibious Assault Ship will be the first of its type in the Trigunian Armed Forces. The vessel is designed to transport up to 75 armored fighting vehicles, assault landing craft and up to 900 Trigunian Naval Infantry and will provide the Trigunian Navy and Trigunian Armed Forces a brand new avenue of attack for amphibious assaults. It will include a number of rotary wing aircraft, notably the Ka-27, the Ka-29, the Ka-31 and the navalized variant of the Ka-52 known as the Ka-52K. The pre-production of the vessel is expected to take several years and several hundred million Rabol before a pre-serial production model is prepared to come off the drydock. The design was presented to the Trigunian Ministry of Defense several years ago by the United Shipbuilding Corporation and approved by President Vlasov in January, 5210.

The announcement comes at a time when the Trigunian President has ordered a full, comprehensive review of the Trigunian Armed Forces in an attempt to eliminate bloat and improve the efficiency of the Trigunian Armed Forces. The President also formalized that the Trigunian Armed Forces will conduct the Vrosnok exercise bi-annually and will invite a foreign partner every 6 or 8 years the exercise takes place. The first formal kick-off will be March, 5212 and will rotate between the Spring, Summer and Winter months bi-annually and will focus on a number of scenarios. Vrosnok 5212 will focus on the deployment of the Trigunian Naval Infantry, deployments of the Strategic Missile Troops and the Trigunian Special Forces Command.

BREAKING NEWS: Prime Minister and other assassinated, "Vlozenya Emirate" claim responsibility
August 5215

Chelyakan, Vlozen Republic - Trigunian Prime Minister Ludmil Frolov and several other cabinet ministers were attacked outside of The Bashnya earlier today en route to a meeting with President Vlasov. The attackers, suspected to be Ahmadi separatist from Vlozenya, attacked the motorcade at roughly 7:05 am local time. The motorcade included Prime Minister Frolov, Finance Minister Konstantin Belov and Science and Technology Minister Veniamin Aleksandrov in addition to several other minor officials. Rodshyadam Police responded in addition to Trigunian National Guard and The Bashnya Regiment soldiers who were undergoing a changing of the guard. The attack left Prime Minister Frolov dead, Finance Minister Belov severely wounded and not expected to survive and Science and Technology Minister in similar condition. The National Guard locked down The Bashnya and President Vlasov announced a nation-wide curfew and announced the deployment of several National Guard units to Vlozenya to hunt down those responsible. At 11:32 am local time the Vlozenya Emirate announced that it had proclaimed an independent Ahmadi emirate within Vlozenya. President of the Vloze Republic, Vakhita Maskhadov, denied this and stated that any who proclaimed themselves above the Vlozen Republic and the Trigunian Federation were enemies of the state. "Emir" Dugurkhan Ahmadov appeared on a live Together!, a Trigunian social media network, stream in which the Vlozenyan Emirate took responsibility for the attack and announced that the attacks would not halt until independence was achieved.

Shortly before the Together! livestream President Vlasov activated the State Security Service's emergency protocols in addition to a nation-wide curfew. The activation of the State Security Service's emergency protocol permits the operation of Trigunian Armed Forces unit to assist off their bases which is normally restricted unless ordered by the President of the Trigunian Federation. The President addressed the nation at 1pm local time and informed them that the Prime Minister had been assassinated in addition to the Finance Minister and the Science and Technology Minister. The President noted that he would be appointing replacements following a period of mourning and in his announcement he stated that he would stop at nothing to bring those to justice who attacked Trigunia and its people.

Ministry of Defense announces wide-scale modernization efforts

The Bashnya, Rodshyadam - Ministry of Defense officials confirmed that the Trigunian Air Force and Trigunian Ground Forced would be upgrading their various Mi-35 helicopters. The upgrade package will see all Trigunian Mi-35 helicopters upgraded to the Mi-35M3 package which increases nighttime operability, includes weapon point mounts to allow for newer weapons such as the Ataka-V, the Shturm-V and the Igla-V. It also has updated avionics and other additional equipment. The Trigunian military maintains a large number of Mi-35 helicopters so the upgrade process is expected to take several years to complete but is a priority for the Trigunian Air Force and the Trigunian Ground Forces as the mainstay of combat air support. The Trigunian government also announced it was ordering 6 Mi-35MS, which will be operated by the Bashnya Guard Regiment. The Mi-35MS is a highly classified command and control helicopter operated by the government for the President, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff and others as designated by the President. The Trigunian government currently possesses 2 of these, this purchase will bring the total to 8.

The Trigunian Ground Forces also confirmed that they would be upgrading a large number of their main battle tanks to the latest variants, the T-90M, the T-80BVM and the T-72B3M. These upgrades are expected to overhaul the large main battle tank force of the ground forces and, according to the MoD, enhance survivability and the offensive edge should it be required. Critics of the upgrade over procurement have fired excessively long service lives and other downfalls but the MoD isn’t sold on the “Armata” project. The T-14 Armata is a main battle tank developed by the Trigunians that has experienced significant delays and difficulties in serial production. Representatives from the MoD have cited those reasons as to why the Trigunian Ground Forces has not adopted them wide-scale for operational use.

President Vlasov signed an order earlier this week which centralized the protection of the government officials, notably himself, to the Bashnya Guard regiment. The Bashnya Guard Regiment is a military formation operated by the State Security Service and composed of the most elite soldiers from across the branches of service in Trigunia. Soldiers and officers are seconded from various branches and services to the regiment and are responsible for the protection of The Bashnya, the President, the Prime Minister and other senior government officials. They are responsible for a wide number of operations such as transporting the President and their family, operating transports and the motorcade for the President.
