South Ocean Fleet to begin patrols in the Mad Dog Sea.

Rodshyadam, Radin - Representatives from the Southern Military District have announced that the South Ocean Fleet, based out of Kaiserburg, with the authorization of President Androniki Khvostovsky will begin regular patrols in the Mad Dog Ocean. It will be the first time in recent memory that Trigunia has conducted regular naval patrols, notably blue water patrols. The Bashnya stated that the patrols were meant to ensure that Trigunia vessels are not harassed or attacked by pirates and cited the failure of nations such as Hutori and Dorvik for keeping the waters safe. The Bashnya refuted statements that these patrols were in response the recent news that Lodamun would be conducting patrols in and around the area of the Mad Dog Ocean. The commanding officer of the Southern Military District, Fleet Admiral Demian Timofeyevich Fetisov announced that patrols would begin immediately.

In recent years the Trigunian Navy has placed heavy emphasis on modernizing the Trigunian Navy, its organization and the resumption of Kerisian Special Air Policing Operation have granted the Trigunian Armed Forces an insight into conducting operational logistics, something that they've lacked. While not confirmed, there has been rampant speculation that the Trigunian Navy has placed great emphasis on the restoration of their long-range submarines, notably those nuclear powered submarines that according to sources within the Trigunian Navy have been drydocked since shortly after the start of the Khvostovsky administration.

Rodshyadam, Radin - President Androniki Khvostovsky, who is now in his 5th term as President of the Commonwealth, having served the people of Trigunia for 22 years announced that in the coming April 5388 election he would be "...re-considering his future..." according to sources close to the All-Trigunian People's Union and State Duma deputies close to the President. The announcement comes as somewhat of a shock as critics of the regime have cited that Khvostovsky was seeking to emplace himself as a "President for Life", but the domestic situation shifted when conspiracy theories ran rampant over the death of Prime Minister Ignatiy Guslyakov who was killed in a plane crash only days prior to the information being revealed about President Khvostovsky. Trigunia media has speculated that President Khovostovsky ordered the death of the Prime Minister over disputes on the handling of Neftkomp and his inability to crush the Kuzaki-lead Petrogaz, now the second largest oil and natural gas producer behind the state-owned Neftkomp. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry, Ihor Khyzhnyak, has taken increase interest in the project and has allegedly come to conflict with the President over the breakdown of relations with Beiteynu and granting them 25% of transit rights of Trigunia oil and natural gas. The terms of the deal were re-negotiated by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and were apparently not favored by the President, but the desire to expand Trigunia's economy took precedence.

Nearly 25 years after the VNS took power in Trigunia, Trigunian society looks very different. The re-introduction of the Winter Subsidy in January, 5365 was considered by both the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Service as a major boon for the Trigunian economy. Neftkomp continues to play its vital "National champion" role in Trigunian economics, albeit with a little competition now. BREAKING: Security Council meeting called; Trigunia expands presence in the Mad Dog Ocean.

Rodshyadam, Radin - The announcement that Luthori had expanded its naval presence in the Mad Dog Ocean by opening a leased base in Likatonia, has prompted some concern within the Trigunian Armed Forces. According to sources close to the President he convened a session of the Security Council in order to discuss options related to the operations in the Mad Dog Ocean, it is also rumored that the "retirement" of the commanding officer of the Southern Military District, Fleet Admiral Demian Timofeyevich Fetisov, was less of a retirement and more of condemnation of the leadership abilities of the Fleet Admiral who had been seen as a close military advisor to the President and the Minister of Defense. The President announced that the new commanding officer of the Southern Military District, perhaps the most important military district, is Admiral Gaspar Semyonovich Chigrakov who has played an important role in the modernization of the Trigunian Navy and has been a proponent of expanding the VMF's submarine capabilities over its surface fleet. According to reporters from the Rodshyadam Defense Brief, Admiral Chigrakov announced that he had worked with the Ministry of Defense to modernize the Petrograd-class aircraft carrier, which has been altered to be a helicopter carrier, something that can be utilized as a means to enhance the abilities of the Trigunian Navy's fleet as the modernization projects for their aircraft carriers has met consistent delays.

While the position in the Mad Dog Ocean has prompted such concern from Trigunia, a number of State Duma deputies and other political figures in Trigunia have begun ramping up election campaigning. The most prominent being State Duma deputy from Rodshyadam and former Rodshyadam City Duma deputy Matvei Petrovich Koshkov, alongside competitor State Duma deputy Rustem Yurievich Khlebov who hails from the more radical, nationalist-wing of the All-Trigunian People's Union. Petrograd Oblast Governor Bronislav Anatolijovych Moroz also announced his candidacy, this comes as Vlozen Republic's chief of government administration Ismail Batukayev announced his candidacy for the April 5388 election. The front-runner, Matvei Koshkov hailed President Androniki Khvostovsky's plans for the Mad Dog Ocean and has called on the State Duma to appropriate more funds to the continued modernization of the Trigunian Armed Forces as a whole. The Bashnya, Rodshyadam - Incoming Minister of Defense Fleet Admiral Erik Borisovich Azhishchenkov announced he had charged the nation’s defense industry to re-invigorate the nations unmanned aerial vehicle program. Trigunia, according to new President Matvei Koshkov has fallen behind in the race for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), especially in the field of military application. A meeting held at The Bashnya brought together several dozen companies and industrial experts to meet with the President, the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff to discuss the future of the UAV program of the Trigunian Armed Forces. Trigunia has produced a number of UAV variants; some large and some small. The most common is the Orlan-10 and the Orlan-30 were are currently in use by the Trigunian military. These drones operate in small groups of 2-5 and are utilized mostly for local reconnaissance and are unarmed. The newer Orlan-30 has been utilized as laser designator for precision munitions; but maintains an unarmed recon role. Several groups have provided prototypes but have failed to enter them into service due to previous Administration’s goals being different from that of the current. The most prominent of the prototypes is the “Divonaya” produced by Spask Electronics. The Divonaya can most be compared to contemporary former Zardic, now Dorvish designs. The Divonaya, named after the Terran Patriarchal goddess of the hunt, comes in 2 versions: the Divonaya-RU, an upgraded version of the original Divonaya and the Divonaya-2. The Divonaya-RU is a MALE UAV while the Divonaya-2 is a HALE UAV.

According to the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, both the Divonaya-RU and Divonaya-2 will be procured en mass.

President Koshkov orders Neftkomp restructuring.

Neftkomp CEO Damir Ruslanovich Tsitnikov announced that the company would be restructuring its organization following a series of meetings with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and President Koshkov. "Neftkomp is an essential component to the economic success of the Trigunian economy. We've discussed several options with President Koshkov and Minister Yehor Vladyslavovych Babij and we're comfortable with their recommendations for re-structuring." The first component of restructuring will be the development of a dedicated export subsidiary known as "Neftkompexport" which will be responsible for all activities related to the export of oil and natural gas from Trigunia to foreign countries and entities. Neftkompexport will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Neftkomp; the second major announcement is that that they had secured approval from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development to form Neftkompbank, a bank dedicated to a variety of banking needs including commercial, retail and other types of banking. Unlike Neftkompexport, Neftkompbank will be a partially owned subsidiary of Neftkomp at approximately 53% with the remainder being private investors. Tsitnikov also announced that they had purchase a stake (15%) in oil and natural gas construction corporation, OAO Strotransneft (Oil Transportation Construction Company), which has considerable business across the globe in the field of oil and natural gas construction.

The restructuring comes at a time following President Koshkov's election in April, 5388 which has set off a legislative blitz in the State Duma. For example, the State Duma has approved the "Law on Trigunian Blood". Internal Affairs Minister Colonel-General (Police) Eugeni Yakovich Reznikov announced that the State Duma had passed strict new reporting requirements for race and religion, including new citizenship requirements. Rodshyadam, Radin - President Koshkov announced that it had "restructured" deals with various stakeholders in Neftkomp and Petrogaz to provide for greater shares of transportation overall. This comes at a time when Neftkomp has ramped up production overall, achieving approximately 93% of total production. Neftkomp's recent re-structure in October, 5388 consolidated all Trigunian-based export operations underneath a subsidiary, Neftkompexport. Officials from Neftkompexport have formed Neftkomptransgaz, which will be responsible for transporting all Trigunian-based produced by Neftkomp across the globe; Petrogaz setup a similar subsidiary, Petrogaztrans to handle their transportation operations. According to the Presidential Decree approximately 10% of all transportation-related matters will be available for foreign nations and other Trigunian corporations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Beiteynu Ambassador of the Presidential Decree and informed them that their 25% share of transportation would be brought down to 1.5%, a generous offer according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The centralization of oil and natural gas transportation is a central tenant of President Koshkov's electoral campaign, it was an issue that ignited that nationalist wing of the All-Trigunian People's Union (VNS) and caused some friction when it came to Koshkov's dominance in the election.

One of the primary focuses was the development of deeper economies ties between the two nations, Prime Minister Kasyanov pushing Dolgavia to become a member of the fledgling Kerisian Economic Union (KEU) which Trigunia launched several years ago and remains a sole member. "The Kerisian Economic Union is focused on the future and with Dolgavia as a part of it, we can really begin to get to work ensuring free and fair trade in Keris." The Prime Minister noted that a large component was Dolgavia agreeing to purchase Trigunian oil, natural gas and petroleum-based products. Trigunia has made a revived oil and natural gas economy a mainstay in its economy and thus far, it has paid off over the past several years as increased production has warranted increased competition in the market. While the Trigunian economy continues to expand, the Prime Minister welcomed members of the National Chamber of Commerce to attend post-government meetings with the Prime Minister of Dolgavia to discuss focused investment into Dolgavia. Trigunian information technology and financial sectors are seeking to expand their business, and Dolgavia will make the perfect market; this also includes Trigunian heavy industrial sectors. Minister of Education and Culture Milomir Tarasovich Balandin announced he would be visiting Dolgavia to discuss cultural exchange programs and the opening of a joint Dolgavia-Trigunia Cultural Center.

In the field of military cooperation, a topic broached by the Dolgavian Prime Minister, the Trigunian Prime Minister welcomed the news. "Once Dolgavia has a command structure up and running, we're going to work together to ensure that they have what they need and ensure that they have the cooperation that they desire."
