Joint naval exercises are beginning with the Konigreich Dolgava Navy. Our uninvolved neighbors have been notified. Staff run computer exercises which could have been more elaborate were considered, but the feeling of the leadership of both nations was that at sea decision making and coordination would be excellent experience.
The exercise is from our end orchestrated and overseen by the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The Chief of the Naval Staff is command of operational forces. Operational Forces are the South Ocean Fleet, the Green Sea Flotilla (with extant units of the Anantonese Fleet under its command and with the detachment composed of our 12 most recently built ships), Anti Submarine Command, the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Coastal Defense and the commanders of each of our six naval bases.
The White Ocean Fleet is at sea including its submarine contingent; it will represent an invading naval force. A second carrier above the Petrovgrad and an invasion force of troop carriers are hypothecated but not actually present.
The premise is that a not overly distant power is enraged at some nation of Keris and is sending an invasion force “to make things right” via the Mad dog Ocean. It is presumed to be roughly equal in military power to our nation. The State Security Service (SGB) Eighth Chief Directorate is generating coded communications which are being intercepted by our Military Intelligence and the military intelligence of Konigreich Dolgava. It is presumed Air Force air superiority units and missiles will be held or used for strikes and threats of strikes on cities and bases other than naval bases and naval units. However if things go other than anticipated our Air Force Su-34’s with their ship crippling capacity could be called in as an emergency measure or as victory exploitation.
A further premise is that upon the Navy of our Socialist Republic and the Navy of Konigreich Dolgava confirming that an enemy approaches, certain forces of the navies of each will meet to the southwest of Deliverance Pass as it abuts the Mad Dog Ocean. In our case the South Ocean Fleet based in Zvropol including its submarines and the carrier Rodshyadam will proceed to this Joint Main Body under overall command of the Dolgavan Admiral Commanding.
At this point, intelligence has confirmed the threat and initial moves are being made. The South Ocean Fleet from Zvropol is moving to the Joint Main Body at Deliverance Pass. Our Green Sea Flotilla is moving from Kaiserburg to block access to the Green Sea. Lacking a carrier and air cover, the air superiority units of Aleksandrovsk Naval Base and Kaiserburg Naval Base will provide air cover of 20 Su-33’s, 5 MiG 29KR’s and 10 Su-70 drones; units of the 15th Air Wing will be coordinated by two Be A-50M’s and units of the 16th Air Wing by two Be A -50U’s. Green sea Flotilla will also serve as a reserve for the Joint Main Body to call upon.
The six naval infantry brigades and remaining air superiority units are being mobilized at our six naval bases. Mobile Coastal Defense missiles are moving to locations on our southern coasts where they can engage approaching naval vessels.
The Tu - 142MZ’s of the 16th Air Wing ae searching for any submarines of the invaders which they can detect under water with a view to either destroying them in exercise terms or driving them back upon the main body. Should it discover the exact location of the main body of the enemy this will be relayed to operational commanders but no engagement with the enemy surface forces is authorized.
More reports to follow.
I think the explanation by Liore was very much on point and accurate. It also shows how we have some major similarities. First, we are both nations trying to make the socialist vision a reality in a Terra not truly hospitable to this vision.
Second, Liore like Trigunia has shown some stability in its pursuit of the dream unlike so many that are like shooting stars lighting up the sky and disappearing. We have always wished to be friends with others pursuing the Metzist vision.
And third, Liore is very concerned with Dovani security just as we are concerned with the security of Keris. We are both dealing with the realities of Terra as we find it. So we are very glad to count Liore as a friend.
There has certainly been a lot of discussion. Overall production of potatoes has been declining over the last couple of years. The main reason is there is less domestic consumption of our potatoes as a staple of our regular diet. We just eat less potatoes than we once did.
Two other factors are at work. Last year there was a 30% increase in the potatoes used in vodka production. And we expect more. We export some vodka. And quite a bit is drunk domestically. But unless there are new foreign trade markets, a limit will be reached.
Also, there has been quite a bit of diversion of potatoes produced to packaged snack foods. We expect there is a fair amount of growth in this market possible before its limits are reached. One would expect some decline in the very modest imports we have of these products as our production grows.
So should we grow potatoes on state farms? Well overall we expect the demand to stabilize and fairly soon. There is a lot of desire on state farms by employees for us to get into potato production and mainly so we can get into vodka production. Aware of this, some villages in Zavrospol Federal Socialist Republic which are predominantly Traditional Kozak and who farm and market potatoes really want us to stay out; they definitely feel threatened.
What we actually plan to do absent a change in the situation I have described is to grow potatoes on state farms in Brakav and Lesnos strictly for vodka production which will be for state farm consumption only initially throughout the state farm system. That will allow two objectives to be pursued. We will gain experience in potato production which can be expanded as necessary should the parameters change. Second we can pursue development of a really top of the line vodka which could become a real attraction for new foreign markets. We believe this will satisfy the Traditional Kozak objections which we take seriously.
TriBoronExport, the government owned military sales corporation, will sell to the Government of the Sovereign State of Kundrati for an agreed upon price acceptable to both, 15 MiG- 35’s, 8 Su-25 SM’s, and 15 Su-34’s. The arrangements were negotiated by the Secretary of Defense of Kundratii Vincentius Maius and our Foreign Minister, Citizen C.L. Shaposhnikhov.
TriBoronExport, the government owned military sales corporation, will sell to the Government of the Sovereign State of Lodamun, for an agreed upon price acceptable to both, 50 MiG- 35’s, 20 Su-34’s, 10 Tu -142 MZ’s, and 20 Ka – 27 M helicopters.
We endorse the report of the Navy of Konigreich Dolgava on our joint naval exercises. In the socialist spirit of criticism – self - criticism, the General staff has found a few lessons to be learned from these naval exercises. We first note that the communications interface between the forces of Dolgava commanded by Fleet Admiral Sean Ramius worked extremely well and we can happily say performed without mistakes.
The evaluation of success was largely thought to hinge upon how soon the invading naval forces were actually detected so that they could be deterred as far as possible from Keris. The radar detection and identification of the invaders by forces of Dolgava on Karzon Island made early concentration by the Joint Task Force successful and also allowed the Green Sea Flotilla to advance. In point of fact, the Admiral Commanding of the White Ocean Fleet decided contesting the way into Deliverance Pass was pointless in view of the early concentration which at best would lead to mutually heavy losses while the Green Sea Flotilla destroyed the hypothetical troop carrying landing craft.
Accordingly, we believe the Naval Staff should examine the possibility of utilizing early warning from land based radar or find a suitable alternative such as expanded patrols with radar capacity into the Mad Dog Ocean.
It also seems the anti submarine measures of the Navy of Konigreich Dolgava as well as our Tu – 142 MZ’s of the 16th Naval Air Wing raise two questions we believe the Naval Staff should address. Is stealth still possible by submarines and should submarines actually be part of a forward strike force.
In Brakav, Radin and Zarvospol Republics, some batteries of our Coastal Defense Brigades had to move to secondary choices for deployment because the area to be covered was more concentrated for this exercise than in standard deployment. Some were slow. This must be corrected by practice.
