Rech Nardoda - Speech of the People
BREAKING: Arkadiy Grafov assumes interim Presidency
9 January 4752
Kadets leader Arkadiy Grafov before marching on the Bashnya
Rodshyadam - In what can at best be described as a bloodless coup, the Constitutional Democratic Party commonly known as the "Kadets", lead by Arkadiy Grafov assumed control over the government in Rodshyadam by a march on the Bashnya and declared himself the President of the Trigunian Federation on an interim basis. According to press releases from the Trigunian government they have scheduled elections for the provisional State Duma in February, 4752; the Kadets being the the sole legally registered political party in the country. Leading members of the Kadets were seen assuming mantles across the government and being named on an ad hoc basis in accordance with the slightly forgotten Constitution of the Trigunian Federation. One of the first tasks that the Kadets and Grafov will have to manage is several proposed amendments to the constitution such as the restoration of the State Duma, the fixing of the national flag as well as other tweaks that Grafov has handed to his legislative chief, Kazymyr Morhun who stands in line to become the head of the State Duma if the Kadets win a majority in the State Duma elections. It appears that the first government of Grafov will be highly technocratic, he has appointed a number of officials that were removed by the previous regime to head their respective ministries and has promised that basic services will be restored "...almost immediately." Despite the brutal start of Trigunian winter, many Trigunians across the country are without heat or electricity as the former government had nationalized all services.
The incoming Minister of Finance Kliment Anikanov hastily assembled a committee of former business owners and managers to tackle the issues. Corporations such as TriEng (Trigunskya Energeticheskaya Korporatsiya) have stepped up and been awarded major contracts across Trigunian in order to restore the neglected power grid. Members of the State Atomic Energy Corporation, the state-owned nuclear power and research corporation, have announced that they are prepared to resume nuclear power operations throughout the country within the next several months and the Ministry of Science and Technology is supporting their efforts. The President seems keen on tackling the everyday issues related to the Trigunian people across the nation, in his brief addresses in the flurry of activity within the Bashnya he has made it clear that Trigunia must first protect and heal itself internally before it looks externally to enhance the lives of those around the globe.
