The Inquisition Establishment
A new party has been established in The United Federal Republic, the Inquisition has been created by a group of land owners in the rural areas of Great Luthori and middle class families from the urban areas. The goals of the Party? Being a Voice for order and stability in the country, acting as a mediator between Parties, acting as a powerful Opposition to develop and promote ideas and furthermore promote an equal, meritocratic and just soceity.
The Inquisition starts with a massive number of 35,000 adherents from every Duchy of the country and is willing to participate in the upcoming election of May 4309. They are expecting to hopefully enter The House of Dukes with a small Caucus to have some weight in decision making.

How is The Inquisition Govern?
The Inquisition has a Concept of Leader within and outside the House, that is a Leader who will serve The Inquisition as Party Leader in The House of Dukes and one who will serve as Lord Inquisitor, supreme Commander of the Inquisition undergoing most of the Executive Powers.
The Inquisition will have a Legislative assembly of its own, whereby its members will chose between right leaning and left leaning candidates to Serve them in The Inquisition Council. The Inquisition Council will thus have to elect a Lord Inquisitor.
After each general election, There shall be an Inquisition Council election whose outcome will shape The Inquisition Caucus in The House of Dukes. That is if Conservative Inquisitors are in power in the Council, then most Party Dukes will be allocated to Conservative Inquisitors...and it will be more likely that a Conservative Leader will represent The Party in The House of Dukes. There will be the same outcome if Liberal Inquisitors are in Power in the Council

Image

Leadership
Lord Richard Tyron is the actual Leader of the Party, who might serve as Leader in The House after the next election, but some say that he is a neutral figure and can be a better figure for the office of Lord Inquisitor. For now, the Inquisition Organisation has not been fully established and is being govern by the Inquisition Council only.
everything will be fully established by the next election, as Lord Tyron said.

Trade union officials meet to form 'Social Democratic Party'

December 4312 | LCNN

FORT WILLIAM, ORANGE - Over five hundred trade union officials have met today in Fort William to announce the formation of a new 'Social Democratic Party', electing John Miller, General Secretary of the National Union of Railway Engineers, Firemen, & Signalmen (NUREFS), as its provisional leader.

Image
John Miller, General Secretary of the National Union of Railway Engineers, Firemen, & Signalmen (NUREFS)

Born in Agathion in 4241, Miller left school at fifteen to work as an apprentice to a signalman on the Agathion-Fort William line, joining the union only months later. Rising through the ranks quickly, he was elected to the national board of the union in 4270. Following the criminalisation of trade unions by the Traditional Royalists and the arrest of over two dozen officials from the NUREFS he was elected to the post of General Secretary, continuing the operations of the union underground.

The party has announced its intention to stand in next month's by-election for Shippington North East, one of the most impoverished constituencies in the country, where polling indicates the Social Democrats would win 67% of the vote. It remains to be seen if the party will not only win the by-election but, come next election, win enough seats to begin implementing its radical agenda.

Postponing a demise: Rebuilding confidence in the AU.
Luthorian Prime Minister moves to thrust overhaul of Artanian Union aimed at deeper integration and cooperation.
Image
:Prime Minister Catherine Robert-Dyers speaking to members of the reformed Imperial Diet.
11th May, 4313

Luthorian Prime Minister Catherine Robert-Dyers, before members of the Imperial Diet, outlined an initiative aimed at reconstructing the Artanian Union (AU) from the ground up. The initiative comes amid the new government's drive towards bolstering Luthori's foreign policy clout amid years of isolationism. The initiative aims at promoting greater integration between Artanian Union members and reforming the structure of the supranational union with the aims of being functional and effective. The Artanian Union saw a damming demise posterior to baseless decision by previous Dorvish politicians to withdraw from the organisation. This prompted a trickle effect with nations such as Aloria and Rutania following soon after.
Prime Minister Robert-Dyers, staunch conservative, called upon the remaining members of the union (Malivia, Hawu Mumenhes, Luthori and Narikaton and Darnussia) to return to the grassroots ideals of the organisation, citing the fact that the nations had decided to remain within the union although other core nations have decided to abandon the union. With the government attempting to reconstruct its foreign policy outlook, championed the principle of cooperation and integration within the existing organisation and accentuated on a united front against anti-immigration nationalism and anti-Artanian Union sentiments.

Prime Minister Robert-Dyers proposed the formation of common economic market for the continent with the aims of increasing economic integration between Artanian Union member states – ideas mainly dependant on the member state's backing of Fort William and their commitment towards a united Artania. Before the Imperial Diet, the Finance Minister vowed to intensify the nation's economic output through all avenues of the nation's trade and industry portfolio. Foreign Minister Devin Foreman stated that the nation would be review its foreign policy outlook to align itself with leading the initiative on reforming the Artanian Union (AU). On the background of a changing geopolitical climate, the Prime Minister called for closer unions and partnerships of nations.
The question still remains: Is this continent ready to take on the responsibilities of a unified supranational organisation aimed at integrating our efforts towards a common ideal and a unified democracy. The Artanian Union will return, however its return will not be an overnight operation. It will need time, patience and cooperation.

Foreign Minister Foreman stated that he intended on re-engaging with various nation and pushing the notion of the re-establishment of the Artanian Union. He told members of the media that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs intended on forming a commonwealth with the various former colonial domains of the empire in an attempt to re-engage with its decolonised territories and engage in diplomatic dialogue with said nations. The announce that he intended on travelling to Haldor and to Sildar Urbem to convince nations like Dorvik and Aloria to return to the Union amid their championing of the baseless cause for leaving the union. Foreman called on the various nations of Artania to recapture their spirit for intergovernmental cooperation and a united front a various core Artanian issues.

Internal Cleansing: Government reasserts public trust in Security Services.
Ministry of Internal Affairs launches investigation into misconduct within Security Services; Vows to reassert public trust in Security Services

: Amid increasing internal tensions, Central Metropolitan Police Service deploys armed officers.
11th May, 4313

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into misconduct within the security services. The investigation is aimed at weeding out corruption and insubordination within the various security and law enforcement services. The Investigation is currently being jointly conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Metropolitan Police Service and is expected to target all branches of the Armed Forces and most levels of the law enforcement and security services. The investigation was given the "go-ahead" by both the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Defence, with Minister of Internal Affairs, Katherine Holmes, calling the investigation "a necessary step towards the Reconstruction and re-institution of stability and peace within the nation," and also came to the podium to discuss the investigation with the media.

As it is already known by the masses, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in collaboration with the Central Metropolitan Police Service, has launched an investigation into corruption and misconduct within the armed forces and security services. It is the share opinion of both the Office of the Prime Minister and the Defence Ministry that the Armed Forces and the Security Services have been at the master-point of corruption and misconduct. As of recent times, around one hundred NCOs and law enforcement officials have been arrested over charges relating to espionage, high treason, financing terrorism and corruption, with around fifty high-ranking military and law enforcement personnel being arrested under similar charges. It is imperative that a level of secrecy of the investigation be upheld, as such this Ministry does not intend on releasing any more information pertaining to this.

The move is an extraordinary risk given how corrupt the armed forces have become giving rise to a concern about a possible coup against the government. While not commenting on the matter, the government appears to be relying heavily on the Central Metropolitan Police Service which is out in increased presence across the Fort William as if to reinforce civil control. Across the nation, armed police officers were activated and surrounded military installations in order to prevent any serious backlash as heavily armed Transnational Anti-Crimes Agency, backed up by local authorities moved in to arrest and detain the officers.

Foreman's transcontinental diplomatic escapade.
Foreign Minister tours former colonial dominions; pushes for formation of commonwealth.
Image

12th August, 4313

Minister of Foreign Affairs Devin Foreman has returned home after a two week tour of several nations mainly those who were former colonial dominions of the empire. Foreman landed in Bekenial, Hutori, which was marked as the first visit of a Luthorian government official to the northern nations in five decades. In Bekenial, Foreman met with his Hutorian counterpart, Carolyn MacKellar and Chancellor Ewan Walker. Among the discussions with Minister MacKellar and Chancellor Walker, Foreman proposed the establishment of official diplomatic and trade relations with the government in Bekenial. Foreman pushed the notion of increased cooperation in time which seems to be anti-cooperative and isolationist. He brought the idea of a commonwealth before Minister MacKeller and Chancelor Walker and its currently awaiting a response from Bekenial as to their cooperation on the matter.

He then flew to Jakania, a nation which Luthori has not maintained diplomatic dialogue for years. In Karadağ he met with President Bahtiyar Karamanoğulları and Foreign Affairs Minister Fatma Bilgin and other members of the Jakanian Government. Jakania, being a former colonial dominion of the Holy Luthori Empire, was initially supposed to maintain diplomatic dialogue with Luthori, however political instability derailed previous attempts. Thus, Minister Foreman felt it necessary that as the Luthorian Government is attempting to re-engage with the international community, more specifically AU nations and former colonial allies. On the table for discussion was official diplomatic and trade relations between Jakania and Luthori and formation of an official defence agreement between the two nations. Similar to Hutori, Minister Foreman proposed the idea of the formation of a commonwealth of former Luthorian colonial nations. In a similar manner he is awaiting an official response from the Jakanian Government.

Foreman's visit, although it had nothing to do with the commonwealth, it had much to do with the Artanian Union. Minister Foreman flew to Haldor, Dorvik to meet with President Theodore Aswalt and Dorvish Minister of Foreign Affairs Emilie Lehning on pushing the notion of the revival of the Artanian Union. It was the Dorvish Republic that lead the mass exit of nations from the Artanian Union. Although many people blame the Union itself, other have blamed the baseless claims of the dorvish politicians who pushed the nation to leave the union. Dorvik, being the founding father of the Artanian Union had now stepped down from its place, thus forcing Luthori to take up the mantle and lead the revival of the union. Minister Foreman proposed a common economic market for member states and a greater integrated union in exchange for Dorvik's return to the union. Currently, the Luthorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reaching out to all former members of the Artanian Union, seeking their council to discuss the terms of their return to the union.

Foreign Minister Foreman returned home to report to both the Prime Minister and the Emperor of the discussions held between the various politicians he spoke with during his 2 week tour of Hutori, Jakania and Dorvik.

Renaissance: Reviving the Armed Forces.
New Armed Forces leadership accentuates attention on reviving military and modernising.

:Admiral Charles Reid, recently appointed Chief of the Imperial General Staff of the Luthorian Armed Forces.
12th August, 4313

Over the past several weeks, Prime Minister Catherine Robert-Dyers, Defence Minister Spencer Russell, and members of the Defence Security Council have laid out an ambitious new plan for revitalising the Luthorian military and revising its military doctrine. While this is not the first time a revival of the Luthorian military has been proposed, this project has attracted the support and close attention of the Defence Minister and Armed Forces Commanders. Addressing members of the Defence Security Council, Defence Minister Russell, the former military commander, laid out the government's vision for a strengthened Luthorian presence in the international arena, a presence that would require the modernisation of the armed forces and the adaptation of a reformed doctrine to fit the needs to responding to defence concerns.

Posterior to the address, the Ministry of Defence announced its Rickmore White Paper, which outlined the concerns and key areas the government, specifically the Ministry of Defence, must place an emphasis on in modernising the military. According to the White Paper, troops numbers had to be increased significantly in order for the Luthorian Armed Forces to be able to adequately respond to a regional or international crisis. Currently, the shrinking armed forces stands at 192,900 active service personnel and 206,000 active reserve personnel. The white paper's author, Liam Rickmore, former defence adviser to Emperor William I, stated that at the current size of the Luthorian Armed Forces, a tactical response to a crisis regional and/or internationally although possible will have to coordinate with professional soldiers, a commodity not seen lately as the Armed Forces had not had a training exercise in the past five decades.

Apart from this, the White Paper called on the government to also focus on modernising the Armed Forces's systems. He stated that the current state of the armed forces' air, land and naval assets were in a state of decay and that in-order to return the prowess of the Luthorian Armed Forces, a modernisation of all land, air and naval assets will have to be conducted. Recently appointed Chief of the Imperial General Staff, the professional head of the Luthorian Armed Forces, Admiral Charles Reid stated that a lot of work would have to be done before the Luthorian Armed Forces can become involved in regional and/or international defence missions. Admiral Reid stated that he intends on placing a strategic emphasis on the nation's Land Forces, seeing that they are the most essential branch of the Armed Forces. Defence Minister Russell told members of the media that he intends on reintroducing the sentiments of government defence contracts to local defence contractors. Companies such as Hatfield & Caldwell, Viserby Defence Solutions and Pennington-Reid Defence Systems are among some of the companies Minister Russell stated that he intended on rewarding contract to with respect to developing systems for the armed forces.

Admiral Reid hinted the possibility of an Armed Forces exercise aimed at evaluating the degree of readiness of the Armed Forces and their application of strategy and tactics. When asked to confirm the sentiment, officials from the Defence Ministry denied the statement.

Government forms development bank.
Amid economic inequality government establishes Luthorian Development Bank.
Image
Aiden Turner, former economist, incumbent Chairman of the Luthorian Development Bank.
8th November, 4313

A recent government report outlining the various economic hardships faced by Luthorians during the reign of the previous administration sparked the interest of the government when it concluded that income inequality among Luthorians had increased and as a result had driven out small business and larger businesses of the sort. In response to the report, Minister of Finance Kathy Wiggins meet with various members of Luthorian Small Businesses Association and the Fort Williams Chamber of Commerce where she outlined her initiative to form a development bank in order to form a government funded response to income inequality and the effects of the economic hardship in the business sector.
Minister Wiggins met with Philip English, President of the Luthorian Small Businesses Association and Julie Nelson President of the Fort Williams Chamber of Commerce on the premise of government support to small businesses. When the incumbent conservative party had been initially in government, it had supported small businesses throughout various anti-small business reforms and taxation regimes. Minister Wiggins stated that she intends on bringing back the government support for small businesses as the previous government had not recognise their untapped potential in boosting the nation's economic output.
Government support for small businesses must be one of the several pillars supporting our nation's economy. Previous administrations have not recognised this and as such have bypassed the opportunity to surpass many nations in the region in economic development. We intend on introducing a focus-plan to assist startup, small businesses in competing within the local, regional and international markets.

Incumbent Chairman of the Luthorian Development Bank and former economist Aiden Turner announced to members of the media that the initial focus plan of the LDB is to champion the government initiative on supporting small businesses and ensuring economic stability for citizens during the transition towards a stable economy. He called upon larger companies such as the Crown Petroleum Company, Hatfield & Caldwell and various other companies in the developed industrial and defence sectors to stand up and take the mantle in pushing the notion of income equality in the business sector. Turner told members of the media that the people are going to have to get up and get the work done. He said: "This government seems to be on that is not going to be tucking the people in bed at night. It is going to be the government that will bring you half-way and you will have to do the rest."
The Development Bank, according to officials from the Ministry of Finance had received an investment of 20 billion pounds from the revenue earned by the government after privatising some state-owned companies such the Crown Petroleum Company. The investment is aimed towards enabling the Development Bank to finance the various initiatives which it will soon champion.

The Exercise is aimed the capabilities of the Luthorian Armed Forces in the field of combined arms and also seeks to observe the capabilities of the Imperial Marine Corps in being oriented towards rapid response/deployment forces. Chief of Imperial General Staff Admiral Charles Reid stated that the exercise will encompass the current training of the other branches of the Armed Forces such as the Imperial Army, the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Air Force, as Imperial Defence Command seeks to integrate their various doctrines and tactics into one fitting of combined arms, a doctrine being introduced to the armed forces and most certainly the Imperial Marines.

"If you refuse to engage in the argument, you will loss the argument" ~ Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister lambastes Alorian Government for incompetence and misrepresentation of Artanian Union.
Image
Foreign Minister Devin Foreman tears into the Alorian Government before members of the government's pro-AU initiative.
2nd June, 4314

As the government pushes forward with its contingency plan of returning Luthori to the international spectrum, one of the core principles being peddled is the resurgence of a reformed Artanian Union. Foreign Minister Devin Foreman addressed his concern on the state of the Artanian Union to members of the Imperial Diet. Posterior to his address where he outlined his ministry‘s intentions, he sent various dispatches to various nations throughout Artania in search to seek counsel with nations he wishes to see return to the union to discuss the reformed approach to fixing the state of the union itself. Although some responses were positive (as he stated that he intended on working with nations willing to assist), others seemed to be aimed at destroying the foundation of the Artanian Union for good. A communique sent to the Alorian government was received in a sombre tone. Alorian President Margareta Schuchard announced a bold statement, threatening to the destroy the "destroy the AU superstate". In her statement she accused the Artanian Union of stealing the sovereignty of member states. Aloria had called a referendum to leave the union several years, ago and as political analysts are pointing out, it was faulty. Foreign Minister Devin Foreman responded to the Alorian President with a chastising grilling, labelling the Alorian Government as nonsensical and citing the fact that they utilised fear-mongering and refused to engage in a qualitative discussion on the Artanian Union.

If politicians decide to call a referendum, it is the politician's duty to inform and persuade the voters. However, when said politicians refuse to inform the citizenry as to the basis behind their choice to either leave or remain, it is not the organisation's fault but that of the politicians tasked with informing and persuading. A review of Aloria's AU referendum process will highlight its faulty nature. Within the chambers of its parliament, there existed no argument in support of either side. If you refuse to engage in a qualitative argument to support your basis, you will loss the argument. It is clear that the anger and blame is being misdirected. The Union should not be blamed for the incompetence of politicians and their refusal to engage in an argument. In their bill titled: Withdrawal from the Artanian Union, their own Labour Party calls for a presented argument, saying: Without 0 presented argument, we cannot agree. Yet the Artanian Union is to blame? The Alorian President's own party, the party which championed the cause of leave the Artanian Union, presented no argument throughout its campaign. Instead it resorted to the lowest standard of fear mongering and feeding its population inaccurate information and lies, talking about membership fees in their "leave campaign" (membership fees which had not even been conceptualised as there was no formal sitting of the entire Union during its period of activity aimed at outlining the membership fees(According to the ). Yet the Artanian Union is to blame. But i digress.

Minister Foreman then turned aim onto President Schuchard's threat to "destroy the AU superstate" in an attempt of "ending the sovereign-stealing superstate for the benefit of all of Artania". He labelled her sentiment as provocative, baseless without a rational point and nonsensical for its lacked the ability to be considered as an intellectual sentiment. He also lambasted her for labelling of the Artanian Union as a "bureaucratic failure". Once more he used the nation's faulty referendum as a point of information against the sentiments of Schurchard.
In their referendum towards leaving the Artanian Union, the Alorian government spoon fed its citizenry the inaccurate image that the Artanian Union had been forcing supranational laws onto the nation thus attempting to rid the nation of its sovereignty. However, i would like to tap into the sensible portion of every individual's brains. Due to the inactivity of its member states when it came to the formation of a legitimate constitution for the organisation to begin operating functionally, attempts to form organisations under the banner of the Artanian Union failed. Although discussions were held within the General Assembly of the Union, that was the only extent at which formal discussions/framework were laid down. The sentiment that the AU has been placing supranational policies on its memberships is (1) Irrational as the members of the Union have never formally met to discuss such proceedings whether it pertains to the integration of supposed laws; (2) Baseless, as those championing this facade have brought no evidence to support their claim. Said individuals rely on fear-mongering and a hope that persons would take their illegitimate opinions into consideration without questioning their intentions. I am yet to see any evidence of a rational argument (or an argument at all) from the Alorian government with respect to this issue. On the sentiment of Sovereignty, You should have been in the organisation, fighting for Alorian interests, partaking in discussions aimed at ensuring your country had an equal say. Instead you left the organisation in an idiotic frenzy. Your nation didn't even partake in discussions in the General Assembly when it had its phases of activity. Yet you question as to why your nation "doesn't have a say" in the organisation. It brings it all back to the core point: Your refusal to engage. Instead of picking up the mantle and working towards orientating the system towards a manner which would please your nation's interests and interests of overs, you decided leave the organisation, sit there and watch it die. You refused to bring an alternate plan, you refused to bring anything of substance (anything at all) to the debate of discussion. You simply sit there and criticise and spoon feed misinformation to your citizenry. You have rid your people of its sovereignty not the Artanian Union. You will not destroy the AU, you will destroy yourself.

Minister Foreman's chastising had been given the full support of Prime Minister Catherine Robert-Dyers who stated that until the governments of Artanian come to realisation that they have been misinformed and lied to, her government does not intend on reducing the pace of its pro-Artanian Unionism. Currently, Minister Foreman is in discussions with other Artanian leaders who have already voiced their intention of returning to a reformed Artanian Union. He stated that he is always open to intellectual dialogue with Aloria, but only on the basis of an intellectual discussion on the Artanian Union rather than the nonsensical and irrational nature associated with the Alorian Government and its "questionable" President.
