Foreign, Trade and Defence Secretaries announces "more collaboration between ministries"
Fort William | Luthori | 21st June 5437 (backdated)

Abstract - A joint statement and a strong outcome at the latest ministerial cabinet meeting is that the two major world-turned ministries, the Trade Secretary and the Foreign Secretary, should establish a "greater and more fruitful collaboration" the one that has already been in place for a few years between the two departments. The Cabinet also joined the Ministry of Defence without naming it in this statement, this greater collaboration seeks to reduce the need for men than each State visit by creating "ministries" affiliated with the Foreign Ministry, but acting on the respective areas of the other two departments.

The Cabinet Office announced several "measures" and "decisions" at the press conference of the government spokesman, Mr. Whitemark at 10 Crown Street, decisions having come straight from the conclusion of the Council of Ministers headed by Prime Minister Weddall. The first announcement that was made by Whitemark on behalf of His Majesty’s Government was that the Foreign, Trade and Defence Secretaries would set up "greater collaboration to simplify the processes of discussions with other nations", regularly communicating on imperial defence, foreign or commercial policy in relation to foreign countries where the Imperial Government has made moves in this direction. To fuel this sense of new collaboration, the Foreign Ministry has announced the creation of two ministries linked to it, the first being the "Junior Office for External Trade", which should receive the authority from the Trade Secretary to negotiate at the behalf of the Luthorian Government, when the latter will not be able to attend certain State visits organized by the Foreign Office, as well as the "Junior Office for Defence Affairs" was created for the same purpose as his trade colleague, but could then negotiate on behalf of the Imperial Government if he could not be present at a state visit for X or Y reasons.

These changes within the government should be the next policies of the Weddall Ministry, which should seek the authorization of Parliament to set up these two new minor ministries under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but who should receive all the elements and powers necessary to be able to start and/or continue the negotiations planned on the subject in question without interference or major obstacle due to a lack of understanding. The Cabinet spokesman said the general view from Crown Street is that this "reorganization should bring more transparency and make the negotiations run in a more open, simple and effective manner with our partners". Crown Street also stated that these two ministases should, in theory, be appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and confirmed by the appointment of the proposed Cabinet to the Imperial Diet.

On other foreign policy issues, Crown Street announced that in line with previous visits to that country, Luthori would make another state visit to Lourenne. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom having made the announcement in a deleterious climate with Beiteynu, which recently tried to calm the game with the recent revelations of possesion by the Yeudish State of ICBMs. Lourenne expressed reservations going so far as some ministeries were to consider breaking the alliance between the two nations. Deltaria also reacted in a "somewhat confusing" vocabulary according to Blackhall. For the time being, Blackhall withdrew from commenting on the subject.

The next visit with officials of the United Kingdom of Lourenne should be a "calm reasoned, honesty and agreement between two allied powers needing more confidence in their bilateral relations", the delegation was to be composed of a more busy public than during the first visit which saw only the monarch and the Foreign Secretary go there. This time, the confirmation of the Prime Minister’s arrival was confirmed by Crown Street, the absence was repaid as suspicious by the media as "The Globe", in addition to the presence of the head of the government, the Foreign Secretary and the Trade Secretary are confirmed by Cabinet. These three personalities, the PM to "regulate" the debates and discussions, the FS and TS to be the "spearhead" of luthorian interests are reputed to be "very honest" during discussions and does not hide their intentions for a very long time to keep a climate of trust with their interlocutors.

The Orange Palace also confirmed the presence of the imperial couple [Emperor & Empress-Consort] at the visit, the program of their visit should be concluded during an agreement with the administration of the Palace of Lights.

July 5441

Fort William, Luthori – Last month the Humperdinck-DeWitt Holding put out a tender for a contract to build a new headquarters in Fort William. Today after weeks of silence it became known that Hexlon Imperial’s Hexlon Construction won the tender for the construction.

Expansion plans requires new HQ
With the recent extra activity within the Humperdinck-DeWitt Holdings and the speculated expansions of the already profitable company to various other nations and within Luthori itself, the Holding obviously needed more space. The company itself announced that the aging building had to be replaced with something more spacious. The old headquarters will be retained and be repurposed as the headquarters of the List Humperdinck political group. With this move the Humperdincks will create a new HQ which more clearly showcases their status as a powerful force within the Luthorian economy.

Hexlon Construction takes the tender
The task of construction falls unto the Imperial juggernaut Hexlon Imperial, who’s subsidiary Hexlon Construction will won the open tender with a good plan. It is clear that after years of focus on the mining industry the Hexlon Imperial Group wishes to focus on all its subsidiaries and increase their potential. The Hexlon Construction manager assigned to the project said that ‘’we are glad to have won this amazing chance to help the Humperdinck-DeWitt Holding build a new headquarters, we believe this new building, which will be bigger modern but with a twist of Luthorian traditionalism will showcase that they are here to stay’’.

HQ offers something for everyone as Humperdincks give back to community
The new headquarters will also offer various new offices and workspaces for local small entrepreneurs, with the Humperdinck-DeWitt Holding releasing with their press statement that they also wish to use this chance to give back to the community by aiding for a low cost the entrepreneurs who have been hit hard the last decade with the financial situation due to the Aldegar crisis. The Humperdinck-DeWitt HQ will offer fresh tea from the McClair Tea Corporation and hold a Tea Shop from said company so that employees and entrepreneurs can take lunch breaks there, drink tea and relax during their breaks. The company announced that as part of the deal with McClair Tea the Tea Shop will be open for all to use.

Building to start within the year
The construction will start within a year as the final touches on the design of the building are finalised and Hexlon Construction ordering various materials and hiring extra personal for the job. The final touch is the permit which the company has nearly got from the city, only awaiting the last few months of the objection period.

Darlington looks towards formation of a new government after LAB-LNC coalition breaks down.
Fort William Edition | Luthori | 12th January 5441

Abstract - The LNC left the grand leftist governement, citing "disagreements" with the current policy done by the governement, by most accounts, it's because of the party's ludicrous attempts at repealing the bulwark of internal stability within the Luthorian Empire, the Democratic Process Stabilization Act and the bulwark of parliamentary traditions within Darlington, the Debate Period Act, and finally showing that they are more irresponsible than a teenager with money.

Parliament is waking up today with a big problem in its hands. It seems that the Luthorian National Conference has unilaterally decided to leave the government after "disharmony" at the level of government policy, many mediato-Politicians attributed this to the Labour Party’s decision not to support the LNC in its "crusade" to destroy the DPSA and the Empire’s parliamentary process. These proposals were criticized by many members of the Labour Party as being "a policy of chaos", the Constitutional Democratic Union had decided to remain silent officially, although many personalities within the party treated the LNC as being "a party full of communist traitors", while the proposal to repeal the DPSA was destroyed by the Diet and the Senate with a large majority in favor of the guard of the Democratic Process Stabilization Act, the failure of these votes would have encouraged the decision of the party, unanimously declared to be "unbearable".

Today, the Prime Minister resigned along with what remains of his cabinet and tendered his resignation to the Emperor, who in turn appointed Alfred Walters to form an interim government pending the Imperial Diet finding a replacement for the outgoing Prime Minister. The Constitutional Democrats have already, according to several sources, contacted both their traditional partners of the conservative right with which they formed the last government (Weddall Ministry [CDU - CNP + LH + LPR]), but also the Labour Party, weakened by all this in the hope of forming an official "grand coalition" between the two parties. For the moment, the holding of early elections, badly seen since the crisis of the 70s is for the moment excluded by all political parties except the LNC and the Liberals, seeking to seize this oppression to "gain more influence" within the Imperial Diet.

It is likely that a "National Government", led by Mr. Alfred Black, leader of the Labour Party, in a grand coalition with the Constitutional Democratic Union would be the preffered option by most parties.

CDU, LAB and LH find agreement on "grand coalition" with LH support. Black returns as PM.
Fort William Edition | Luthori | 4th February 5441

Abstract - The CDU, the Labour Party, the List Humperdinck all came together with an agreement forming a coalition "unity" government for the remainder of the term of the current Parliament in Darlington Palace.

The Interim Prime Minister, Alfred Walters announced and reported today his resignation and that of the entire interim government after Parliament had, as a whole, gave its confidence to the new government proposed and supported by the Constitutional Democratic Union, the Labour Party and the List Humperdinck, which supports the cabinet through a Confidence and Supply Agreement signed with the other two parties. This government nicknamed the "Grand Coalition" or the coaltion "red and blue" is composed of an equal number of ministers from both parties due to the small difference in seats between the two parties. The former Prime Minister, Alfred Black, was invited by the Emperor to form this government on his behalf, and the Clubist [Member of the Monday Club], Orville Horgan, returning to the role of Foreign Secretary, should become the Deputy Prime Minister as the most senior person in the CDU (behind Weddall) and in the government (behind the PM).

This new government has only one slogan, "Stability, Order, Prosperity", in an uncertain economic context and the elections approaching, the fall of the first left-wing government in nearly 20 years had caused the Fort William Stock Exchange to see a drop in its total points at the end of the week following this major political event. The first point the Foreign Secretary made was after his visit to Lourenne where he continued to foster the "Amicable Entente" that exists between the two countries. The Foreign Office said potential state visits to Hutori, Beiteynu, or even Dolgava were not to be ruled out in the near future.

Foreign Office shares "enthusiasm" amids Lodamun's key represenatives visit to Luthori.
Fort William | Luthori | 5th July 5443

Abstract - The Imperial Foreign Office has shared its "enthusiaism" amids the tenure of the next Lodamese visit in the Luthorian Empire, in this visit, many key representatives of the Northern Seleyan nation, the President of the Commonwealth, the Secretary of State, the Merchant-General, the Trade Secretary and many other representatives will meet with the Imperial Governement for discussions about "business and trade", according to whispers from the backrooms channel that the Times have within the Blackhall Palace and Crown Street.

Then a "grand coalition" or "red and blue" government was formed at Darlington after the LNC left the coalition, causing the CDU and the Labour Party to come to power within a grand coalition. The new Foreign Secretary, or former, depends on the media covering the case, Mr. Orville Horgan has returned to the 2nd government led by Mr. Alfred Black, Leader of the Labour Party and Prime Minister since the last election of 5428.

The Foreign Office has announced that a state visit from an official delegation from Lodamun should arrive in Luthori in the coming months, This delegation, according to the information of the Foreign Office which was communicated during the press conference of the Hebrew Cabinet, will consist of the President, Mr. William Hanlon, the Secretary of State (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Mrs. Jennifer Toule, the Secretary of Commerce and Industry, Ann Tageart, the Merchant-General (Main Lodamnese Trade Representative), Mr. Adam Runt and finally the Director of National Assessments, Edward Walch. This delegation should go to Luthori with a rather specific objective, that of talking about business and trade between the two nations.

The entire delegation will be able to meet Emperor Henry VI, currently residing in Rottingham Palace because of an "aggravating" state of health according to the doctors of the 60-year-old monarch who suffers from many health problems. After this traditional passage to the monarch, they will travel to Fort William for lengthy discussions at Crown Street and Blackhall Palace, all accompanied by visits to factories to show the cream of the crop of the technological and cutting-edge industry of Luthori and a state banquet chaired and organized by the Prince of Orange, Edward who takes more and more official duties in the place of his sick father, who nevertheless continues to perform his official duties and duties.

This delegation should also meet with the Prime Minister, Mr. Black, the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Horgan, the Trade Secretary, Mr. Baldwin and the Industry Secretary, Mr. Mitchell, all his personalities should negotiate with this delegation on friendly terms between the two nations on certain economic issues. The Luthorian Government declared its "enthusiasm" to negotiate with this delegation after the success of the recent visit to Lourenne and concluded that "Luthori’s excellent relationship with Lodamun, both within and outside the Commonwealth, will be shown during this historic visit".

LBC World Service eyes expansion into Dovani as media install regional HQ in Lourenne.
Fort William Edition | Luthori | 5th August 5444

Abstract - The Luthorian Broadcasting Corporation's World Service has announced that a new regional headquarters has been installed in Lourenne. Many have seen that development as the setting stone upon which the company will try to win more leverage for broadcasting its products into the wider Dovanian continent, amids great economic uncertainity coming from both Lourenne and Dankuk, two of the continent's largest economic powers.

The largest luthorian media known to date, the Luthorian Broadcasting Corporation, has been eyeing expansion into the whole world since the inception of its "World Service" network, proposing news to a wider public with news reported from all over the world. Today, it seems that the company is continuing into that trend with the inception of a whole new regional headquarters within the Dovani continent, that being in Lourenne. The choice of Lourenne over other Dovanian nations like Yingdala may come from the special relationship that the United Kingdom and the Empire has developed over the years, while the relationship between Luthori and Yingdala, both politically and economically, has not been great historically, both countries being rivals in the Dovanian continent and Yingdala having served the death blow to the Luthorian colonial holdings in Dovani, Temania and Vascania and having made sign to the Luthorian Empire the humiliating Treaty of Port Morgan, a humiliation still haunting Luthori's foreign policy to this date. The decision from the LBC to install regional HQ to Lourenne would have been made in light of the current economic difficulties of the Kingdom of Bae (Dankuk), which being led by a radical leftist governement has seen a lot of economic downturn since the beginning of the decade, creating an economic crisis within their land which had, in all accounts, spread towards the already weakened Lourennais economy, which took a heavy blow by the fallout of the crisis in Dankuk.

This installation of the regional HQ in Lourenne may also be a testament of the Luthorian goodwill of continuing to strengthen the ties towards Lourenne, like Emperor Henry said in his last speech to the Assembly of Canrille. Otherwise, Lourenne may also prove to be a strategic position, from which the media could see some to no difficulties installing itself in and then expanding its services to the rest of the continent. The position of Lourenne, being in the west side of the coast and close to many developing nations which had seen some episodes of instability, proping up social media "fake news" to become the norm in these particular countries [i.e. Stratica, Kimilien], newborn democracies after either decades of sham democracy or outright authoritarian/totalitarian governements [i.e. Mikuni-Hulstria, New Verham, Ostland...] or even current authoritarian/dictatorial governements [i.e. Hanzen, Utembo...], all of these factors combined made the decision of installing the said regional HQ of the main luthorian media in the Luthorian-ally, humanitarian and democratic nation of Lourenne, in order to spread the news of an honest and truthful media to all of these developing nations. The main responsible for the LBC World Service that has accepted our invitation for an interview, Johnny Wamel, one of the LBC's main chief, stated bluntly that "the Luthorian Broadcasting Corporation must give the light that we hold dear back home, the light of freedom, free press, democracy and human rights to other people who do not have the chance or lack the mediatic foundation to have and sustain such light"

It's reported that it's likely that the LBC will begin broadcasting its casual programs in some countries, countries which have accepted the presence of the luthorian media within their lands, these countries being, obviously Lourenne, Dankuk, as the two main democratic actors of the Dovanian continent, while also having been authorized by the Sekowan Government to broadcast its regular programs in Seko and finally, the last nation to have accepted to have a presence of the luthorian media in their territory is Mikuni-Hulstria, a nation that has been democratizing since the collapse of the fascist regime in the hands of the Hulstrian Hosian Democrats, said Hosian Democrats who has ceded power to new, resurgent left of the nation.

If we are talking about economics, it may also be seen as a reaction to the traditional competitors of the LBC, the Humperdinck Media Group having announced a recent expansion of its grip into Kundrati and into other programming services.

Whispers towards nuclear energy appear in scientific circles, economic titans interested.
Fort William | Luthori | 22nd August 5442

Abstract - Some whispers about an expansion of the current nuclear capabilities in the civilian sector has been spotted at many scientific meetings, with many scientifics citing the "benefits" of nuclear energy in comparison to the current system which mainly use coal as a reliable source of energy, the scientific sector has been criticizing that method for ages at this point now. But, a change have been noticed in the pro-nuclear circles, now energy companies have noticed to be "interested" into that prospect.

The nuclear power debate has been a long and fierce battle between the opponents and the supporters of that said energetic procurement. The opponents citing risks for public health, the presence of nuclear waste with the planned power grids, while the supporters of that said energy are citing the "dire" need for energetical transition, for which the nuclear energy could proven useful, they are also citing the "problems" for human health conditions and working conditions in the coal mines, while not as difficult as one that the coal miners in some remote nations could face, they are still difficult compared to the average job in Luthori. While the coal miners have seen better conditions through the ages, by many acts done by the Labour Government for example, they are still one of the least content class group within the Empire's working world, making usual strikes and being opposed to many policies done by their respective hierarchy. Last yeat a study said that most miners have done more than 28 days in a strike during a whole year, compared to 5.8 for the average.

Scientific circles have been critic of the current energetic system, calling it "unsustainable" in the long term and have long called the governement to "rethink" about its energetic policy, while the government has mostly not been hearing these dissent voices for so long, either it's a Labour-lead or a Tory-lead governement regardless, the situation might come to change in the next days, months, years, decades or whatever. Regardless, the situation might change since the discussions on an increase of the part of nuclear energy inside of the energy grid of the Luthorian state within the scientific circle involved in these discussions in the first place have all but decreased, the pro-side seeing a rapid increase of popularity within the public, which isn't seeing with a good eye all the miners which are seen as "using their comfortable position to poison all Luthori with their strikes", a recent poll by the Luthori Polling Analystics (LPA) has seen that an increase in nuclear-powered energy is supported by 41 % of the population, a net increase from the 36 % from the last poll on the question, while 31 % are indifferent and 28 % are opposed to it. It seems that the recent strike from the miners of Cherleberry have been the "straw that breaks the camel’s back" by many Luthorians, which are now seeking alternative to the "troublesome" miners.

Companies has also been interested in the development of nuclear energy in Luthori, whether it is from extraction companies, shipping and energy companies, all of them have something to win from the opening of trade/exploitation of resources of uranium in some areas, for extraction companies, like Hexlon Imperial, the cost of keeping afloot some of Luthori's oldest coal mines is becoming more and more difficult by the day, the human cost of labour, the decaying age of the mines, the reccuring strikes have become untainable for these companies which are now seeking alternatives, with uranium's search and retrievial, it could mean a new boost for these companies. For the shipping ones, it's more easier, Luthori do not have any uranium within its borders, they will need to export it and who comes to the rescue, the Luthorian shipping industry. All of them have their little interest in mind which could change or upset the balance.

It seems that the "Green Luthori" that many Labour Governments have envisonned could become a reality with this new energy.
