"New Labour For A New Luthori" - Labour Party Reborn, Under Leadership Of Former Liberal - 29th August 4452

Image

The assembled press at the Smith Building in Northminster were kept in the dark about what the announcement that Councillor Rupert Hamilton had planned. Hamilton, a former member of the Liberal Republican Party, had recently been elected as a member of Northminster's local council and had become a popular local figure. Many expected his announcement to be that he was either running for Mayor or at the general election to represent Yodukan. What they did not expect was that Hamilton, along with millionaire and philanthropist Tobias Sancroft and former Minister Olivia Walker had been planning for months the rebirth of the Labour Party. At the press conference, Hamilton announced that he would act as the interim leader of the party, with Sancroft as the candidate for Governor-General. In his speech, Hamilton said:

There now comes a time where we need to challenge the status quo. For over 20 years, the Labour Party has not been a force in national politics. We need a new vision, a new path, a new party, New Labour for a new Luthori

Conservative Right leader Viscount Wilma Urquhart II

This papers person of the year goes to Viscount Wilma Urquhart II. In the start of the snap election the Viscount was polling at a meagre 2%. But as the debates rolled around and Wilma was able to speak to the nation her numbers and personal approval ratings went through the roof, and at the night of the Election she had pulled her party to become the second largest in the diet.
It would seem that the Aristocratic ways that many commentators criticised her for payed off in ensuring an election victory. The young Viscount quickly went to form a coalition of right wing and center right wing parties within the diet and securing the highest position in the land for herself.

Ms Urquhart comes from a long standing and prestigious family within Luthori politics and bussniess. Her ancestors securing the title of Viscount through the defense of the Crown against a communist uprising. However throughout their reign over Luthori and even before it communist parties started to get violent eventually forcing them to flee. Still with one of the most industrious men this country has known they were able to build a new life and keep their life of luxury and aristocratic ways. Which without putting any weight in to this, is all she has known. But it seemed as if the nation has responded to her and for her skills as a young politician and her rhetoric she has been awarded person of the year. No doubt to bring change to the nation.

Aaron West hails election campaign
TUSC Leader Aaron West, 74, celebrated the incredible election results for his party at a rally for party workers and trade union Leaders in Fort William. West said:
Tonight, 59 years after our party was formed, we have proven yet again that we are the Party of the working class. Times come and go but one thing will never change, only our message of grassroots Socialism that promotes and respects patriotism, community and family genuinely unites the workers. It is pretty clear that the Diet numbers will see the Government retain it's majority, but our rise shows the path to defeating the right in this country. The standard of living of the Luthori people should always be our first priority. I thank every single one of you for your strong will and determined fight as we did our best to make up the deficit to the right, but ultimately our success couldn't be replicated across the Left, so we remain in Opposition, still fighting for those transcendent values of our Party. We fight on comrades.

West himself had an Excellent campaign, as did many of his young Shadow Ministers such as Lily Harris. The hope amongst the leading members of the Party is that the result can set them up for a victory next election.

Steve Chester proclaims official re-establishment of HFU, gives speech.

Today (September,4459), Baron Steve Chester gave a speech at the center of Fort William entitled "What is Hosian Socialism"

excerpt from the speech:

"Hosian Socialism is not the socialism of the materialistic or the bourgeois! Hosian Socialism is a commitment to the Hosian people guaranteeing them a true way of life. Our government is failing to provide for its people. We have been given the option of center right neoliberal parties who have an obligation to the wealthy, and the option of socialists many of whom are not true patriots. We have seen this time before - back in the days of the White Rose and the old aristocratic class. We have been suppressed before, we shall not be suppressed again! Our national spirit has been pillaged by the lunacy of the diet we have today and the tolerance we continue to expand toward those who ought to be re-educated rather than reasoned with. Hosian Fascists rise! take back our country! Let the Luthori religion and the Hosian people reclaim what is theirs! RELIGION IS NO COMPROMISE. CULTURE IS NO COMPROMISE. SOVEREIGNTY IS NO COMPROMISE!"

Thousands in the streets were reported clapping, with chants calling for a "Father Chester" to rebuild "a true paternal state" as he vacated the area.

Rupert Hamilton: Luthori Labour Party Leader and Social Reformer Dies Aged 53 In Unexplained Circumstances - 15th February 4460

Rupert Hamilton, the man who led the Luthori Labour Party back into the Imperial Diet after years of inactivity, has been found dead near his home in Northminster. Police were called to Hampton House, Mr. Hamilton's constituency residence, at around 23:40 last night, after neighbors reported discovering a body. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Mr. Hamilton was found unconscious in a collapsed trench, after a heavy storm that swept the city on Valentine's Day. A visibly shocked Olivia Walker announced his death at the Labour Party Headquarters in Northminster, where she said

We do not yet know what took our friend from us, all we can say at this point is that the police have said the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious... ...Rupert dedicated his life to fighting against social injustice, and the best way we can honour his memory is to continue that fight

Mrs. Walker will lead the party on an interim basis until the election of a new Labour leader in September at the party's annual conference. There is expected to be no maneuvers for the leadership, nor any announcements, until after Mr. Hamilton's funeral.

Green Party Headquarters attacked by HFU militants

Authorities identified multiple HFU supporters attacking the Green Party Headquarters with firearms and molotovs. 300 deaths were recorded at the headquarters, including senior party members. Several prominent police unions have had their members become HFU supporters. The radically socialist HFU have shocked the entire population of Fort Williamsburg, creating a coalition of authoritarian socialists, nationalists, monarchists, and reactionary forces.

HFU paramilitaries march down the former Liberal Republican voting blocs of Fort William.

Hosian Fascists were seen marching down the now defunct Liberal Republicans voting districts, the party which the Emperor himself belonged to. Baron Chester was at the helm of the marching, having his men carry batons and black shirts. He eventually stopped the march and gave a speech outside of the Liberal Republican party headquarters, the following is an excerpt

"Brothers, our presence has now cleared nearly 100 seats in the diet with the fall of yet another party. With our emperor no longing having representation, a void has been created that we, the HOSIAN FASCIST UNION, shall fill. Observe the fall of the neoliberal order and join us in our rise to prominence! LET US TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY ONCE AGAIN!"

the crowd of around 10,000 paramilitaries begin chanting "ALL HAIL FATHER CHESTER" and saluting the fascist nobleman

An Emotional Farewell: Rupert Hamilton Laid To Rest In Northminster - 4th March 4460

Rupert Hamilton was finally buried this morning in Northminster, following a funeral service in Fort William attended by many hundreds. Speaking at the service, interim Labour leader Olivia Walker spoke fondly of her colleague, also joined by his close friend and Labour Chairman Tobias Sancroft. After the service, Hamilton's body was transported by hearse to Northminster, the town where he spent much of his political career. After the casket passed through the streets to applause from the people whom he had represented for many years as a councilor in the town, it arrived at Northminster Crematorium, where a private cremation service was held.

Nominations Close For Labour Party Leadership: Polls Suggest A Four-Way Tie - June 20th 4460

Walker, Sancroft, Campbell or Cox? That is the question that has been sent out to the members of the Labour Party following the close of nominations.

Olivia Walker - The 57-year-old Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and interim leader following the death of Rupert Hamilton in February, Olivia Walker has already held the position of leader once before, in a two year period from 4431 to 4433. During this time period, she led to the party to a catastrophic defeat and resigned in disgrace. However, with age comes wisdom, and Walker is no longer the fresh-faced, 28-year-old who set the party ablaze with progressive politics. Walker has remained a progressive but has moderated her stances so as to appeal to centrist voters. However, her previous tenure as party leader may prove to be her undoing.

Tobias Sancroft - The 48-year-old Chairman of the Labour Party was the party's candidate in the 4454 and 4458 elections for Governor-General. He is not the most charismatic of leaders, and he has proven a controversial nominee with some grassroots members, who see his family background, one of wealth and nobility, as a barrier to him connecting with the working class. Sancroft has already said that if elected, he would only serve a four year term of office, unless he was elected Chancellor by that point.

Peter Campbell - At 67 years of age, Peter Campbell is the oldest candidate running for the leadership. The younger brother of the late former Labour leader Jac Campbell, he has been one of the most vocal critics of the newly refounded Hosian Fascist Union, which he had committed to fight tooth and nail if elected leader. Critics accuse him of taking up the anti-fascist fight only to distract from his rather uninspiring proposals while Shadow Internal Affairs Minister.

Diana Cox - Only 26 years old, Diana Cox has only recently been appointed to the Trade and Industry portfolio. Many say that she has jumped ahead of herself by entering the race. She herself has said she is "not confident" of victory and instead wishes to "open a debate about the future of the party"

Hosian Fascist Union surge political landscape, becomes second largest party in the diet and begin trying to shape political landscape with violence

The HFU's victory shocked the political sphere, with the denial from the conservative right to form a government, Baron Steve Chester has proposed supporting a fully socialist/labour government on the condition that the leadership of the LDU, White Rose, and Conservative Right be killed along with their respective families.

The HFU have also attacked Conservative Right voting districts in Fort William, throwing molotov cocktails and grenades, which were stolen from the armories, inside CR supporter windows every night. These attacks have killed 55 people thusfar.

The HFU have conducted an attack on the estate of Peter Campbell, with 20 paramilitaries using small arms fire, a stolen mortar tube, and mortar shells to attack.

Finally, it is rumored the HFU has members talking to Labour officials behind closed doors, lobbying for the nomination of Tobias Sancroft to succeed Rupert Hamilton.

The following is an excerpt from Baron Steve Chester's latest speach.

"We have stuck our sword in the stone of darkness. We have pushed out the evil neoliberals and have put socialists in power. The first step is to building our economy, and on these issues we shall gladly work with the socialist elements of the diet to push this agenda. Many scoffed at our rise, but they shall scoff no longer! Join us or fear us! Hosian Fascists shall rebuild a true imperial state once again!"

Over 300,000 HFU members attended the speech, many in the ranks part of the paramilitary arm of the party. The Baron was met with loud applause and Hosian military salutes
