Take Stand, Movement for Luthori tells FM Martin

Government grilled in Commons where Gilbert,Humperdinck took "Spineless", "Coward" Foreign Minister to the cleaners.

LH Led MFL-BC Government imminent

Fort William: In a series of developments, where the resolution tabled by the former Deputy Prime Minister Stuart Gilbert was the center of attention. It culminated with LCP retracting from the original decision to back the resolution and consequently resulted in failure of motion.
Luthorian Labour went on to table the Early Elections bill due to mishandling of situation by the LSP Foreign Minister Martin Smith. The motion got support from LH and even LP & LCP.
This resulted in huge victory of centrist parties tho List Humperdinck emerged as the single largest party.

Before the passage of Elections motion, Opposition grilled the government over handling of Beiteynu's PM killing situation as Government showed weakness & was willing to give up even the last drop of honor. Luthorian Labour has called on Foreign Minister to push for an independent investigation by a third party where Luthorian forces should also be given access to monitor the progress.

The government has done nothing. The Foriegn Minister hides somewhere till he gets his orders from the mighty Tarren. One day he says he'll take up the matter, next we know he follows Tarren's lead and gives up everything, completely surrenders sovereignty to Beiteynu. This minister has bring shame shame and shame for Luthori. We'll not allow such government to go any further and sabotage Luthorian interests. Stand up, take a strong stance for Luthori & tell Beiteynu to back off.
Stuart Gilbert, former Deputy PM & Home Secretary said in his address in House of Commons.
I second Hon' MP Gilbert that Rt.Hon' FM Martin should do more. Its been days Government is silent & merely a press conference by Foreign Minister doesn't suffice. What is Government doing to bring back the stranded Luthorians in Beiteynu. How are we ensuring the safety of our diplomats in Beiteynu. If they can't do anything, they must go home
. Henry Humperdinck, Leader of LH
Likatonian interference is another issue at hand.Constant threats by the Likatonian government must be addressed. We should send a strong message to Likatonia that Luthori is not to be messed with.We should strongly assert our position & immediately retract our vote on Security Council seat from Likatonia.
Herald Lopsen Labour MP.

The Luthori Government is facing hard time both at home & abroad to resolve ever worsening situation. Its imperative if Luthori has to get out of it, it needs a strong government demanding a fair & transparent inquiry.

DON'T TAKE THREATS VERY WELL. Incoming Government Leaders ask Likatonia not to go rogue.

Image
Stuart Gilbert,Former Deputy Prime Minister & Home Secretary

Fort William: In the aftermath of assassination of sitting PM of Beiteynu, Luthori and Beiteynu got engaged in a war of words not officially but through diplomatic channels rising the tensions among the two nations. As this was not enough, the one party state of Likatonia decided to hurl threats towards Holy Luthorian empire after one of the MPs from the opposition tabled the resolution calling for cutting diplomatic ties with Beiteynu, impose travel restrictions and cease all & any travel to and from Beiteynu. This led to strong reservations among the public and political parties. Today in the House of Commons a number of MPs have submitted a bill to revoke the vote of support for Likatonia on Seat C of the Security Council. It is worth noting that a number MPs belong to the incoming/expected government coalition of MFL & BC.
Likatonia needs to correct its course.Hurling threats to a vibrant and thriving democracy doesn't seem fit on a autocratic & dictatorial regime.
Labour Deputy Chairperson Elizabeth Eleanor
We won't & don't take threats very well. We'll respond in the very same way. Likatonia shouldn't be living in fool's paradise.
Stuart Gilbert Former Deputy Prime Minister
Taking away our support from Likatonia should send a clear message to the despotic regime that in no way Luthori will be overwhelmed by the threats.
Steven Dewitt , LH Parliamentary Leader
This is not what we were expecting from Likatonia. This is quite embarrassing for them. It'll take to mend our relations if they have any intention of doing that. Threats don't work on such level.
LCP's Parliamentary Leader

Likatonia is a member of Security Council from the Seat C of Artania, with Luthori retracting its vote, it'd be a tie between Likatonia and Tukarali & no one knows if Tukarali grabs the opportunity.

The Fort-William Times
Sir John Maguire becomes the new Prime Minister of Luthori, leading an ICU minority-led government.
December 5228

The New Prime Minister, Sir John Maguire, at the left with the new Foreign Minister, James Salisbury, at the right.

Fort-William, Luthori: After months of tense negotiations between the political parties, first to form a "national unity" government, but after attempts by the political parties to form this government to counter the advances of the Imperial Conservaitve Union failed, the leaders of the political parties composing the Movement for Luthori, Henry Humperdinck, for the List Humperdinck (LH), Lewinson Huton for the Luthorian Labor (LL) and Flavio Masters for the Democratic Movement Party (DMP) came together to discuss the future positions of the alliance to form a government. The LH favored the formation of a minority government led by the Imperial Conservative Union, with the support and confidence given by MfL members, in contrast, Luthorian Labor pushed for a snap election and the DMP were the only uncertain about the situation.

The situation changed via, according to our information, a letter, sent to the leadership of the ICU to the DMP, promising not to push for radical laws, but seeking support for other laws, very important for the mandate of Maguire, the DMP, after a few exchanges of letters with the ICU declared itself in favor of a coalition with them. Luthorian Labor said it was in favor of the condition that the ICU not challenge the imperial family, as several executives had considered invoking Article 12 of the Constitution. An article that states, roughly speaking, that only the Orange-Vilayn Armstead can rule over Luthori.

The new Prime Minister will be able to benefit from a cabinet composed entirely of members of the ICU, which will be able to help him in his foreign and economic policy, but many are struggling, What is the policy that Maguire will lead?

Three areas will be favored by the Government:

Economy: Maguire's Government is made up of men and women who are very aware of their work, the ministries in the economic field are all led by economists or specialists in their fields of action, who can collaborate with each ministry to have the best overview of the development prospects of the economy and the economic state of Luthori, several economic stimulation plans can be created by the government, but the first economic law that the government will put in place is on the hypothetical installation of a central bank, to regulate banks and businesses, loans and other areas. At the same time, the government is still considered liberal, and it wants to privatize areas, which "are not the responsibility of the government", ie trains, and certain infrastructures. The Chancellor is preparing to announce a recovery plan for the Luthori economy, the Secretary of Trade and Industry wants more money, to be able to distribute the necessary subsidies to the economy.

Military: The Secretary of Defense, Earl Wallace has very good contacts in the Army and this one agrees on a great plan of modernization and professionalization of the armed forces of Luthori. The main leaders of the Imperial Luthorian Army (ILA) gathered recently and agreed to discuss a deep reform of the armed forces of the Empire, the armed forces of the Empire, having, indeed, need of deep reform of their structure, manning, equipment, combat readiness and chain of command, many other areas need reform, impetus for this modernization can take place under Maguire's Premiership , but the rest will have to be done by his successors.

Foreign: Luthori's foreign policy is complex, but with the appointment of Lord James Salisbury, son of Lord Lincoln Salisbury, Foreign Secretary under Killerson and Kennedy, he is an accomplished diplomat, having served as Ambassador to several nations and Ambassador to the World Congress for Luthori, an accomplished diplomat is now at the head of the Foreign Office as Foreign Secretary, he is for a more "diplomatic" approach than his predecessors, opting for a rapprochement of regional powers and for a return of the Artanian Union , economic organization, to benefit all Artania. He also seeks to get closer to Dorvik, the dominant power in the region, in order to receive funds to help rebuild Luthori's economy.

Chancellor of the Exchequer announces “near end” of major government interventions
Luthori will return to an age of competitive capitalism, says Chancellor.

Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Anthony Williams, announcing the new economic policy of the governement

Fort-William, Luthori - Today, the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Anthony Williams, announced the government's new fiscal policy, having set a budgetary course with the Prime Minister. The Chancellor has announced that he wants to follow this course, and privatize public companies, lower taxes and reduce the government budget, but also reduce state investment overall. Mr. Williams explained how he had proceeded to reduce state investment at several points. His first point was that the government was going to start privatizing public enterprises in all areas, in order to be able to reduce the government budget in all existential areas, LBC, NHS and several other companies will be privatized through a private investment fund. and a call for tenders to private companies. The government will start cutting the government budget after companies have been privatized, to encourage the rapid implementation of luxury and business tax cuts, which will serve to encourage start-ups to go into business, the government will provide its start-ups with a "business development fund", which is an interest-free loan from the state, to be repaid when the company starts making a profit, and this will not be refundable, if the company goes bankrupt, the State being able to buy it back to avoid seeing it sink. To prevent private companies from seeing themselves in competition with the State, the government will begin to sell to the large private firms, automobiles, metal, clothing, etc., the factories held by the State, going with the horizon 5235, to see all the industries held by the State sold to the private industries, the government will authorize all the private industrialists coming from other nations to come and settle in Luthori, to stimulate the market. But the government will put in place rules to support local companies in the face of large domestic or foreign companies. The Chancellor announced that these conditions and the specific economic policies will be announced later in the mandate.

The Independent Observer
The Government announces a plan to privatize the country's highways
We shall privatize, but not abandon highways, says Humphrey.
January 5229

Image
Infrastructure Secretary Seward Humphrey, announcing privatization of the four great highways

Fort-William, Luthori - Infrastructure and Transport Secretary Seward Humphrey announced during a Prime Minister's Question Time a series of "long-term" privatizations, with some highways being privatized faster than others, the first phase of the plan is that highways 1, 3, 4 and 5, which connect the largest cities in the country with Fort-William, be privatized after the entry into the so-called "distant" suburbs of Fort-William, approximately 50 km after the start of the highway. The parts between the following cities, Klamsfeld for the H1 highway, Longstam for the H3 highway, Gigns for the H4 highway and Kingston for the H5 highway and Fort-William will be free. Also the Secretary Humphrey announced that, since Fort-William concentrates approximately 12,000,000 people, the highways which will be built in the capital and its surroundings will all be free, but if the limit of 50 km after the capital is exceeded by a highway, the highway will be privatized and tolls may be built. He also announced that his privatized highways will be considered as a test by the government, to know if it should go further or review its policy, various agreements on the operation of tolls have been signed with private operating companies, the price will be set per kilometer traveled from the beginning of the highway, for example, the 1st toll at the exit of Fort-William will be free, but the second toll, for example being 64 km from Fort-William, the price per kilometer being £0.254 per kilometer, after 64 km the price of the toll will be £16.26, if this calculation is hypothetical, we will very soon be the enplacements of the tolls and their distances from Fort-William, the government has also gave directions on location and frequency of tolls, not too far, by too expensive and not too close. The privatization of the highways is not a surprise, beingy in the government initiative to limit government intervention in the main sectors of the economy, but the state will continue to help in repairs, works or road extensions, warn Humphrey. The state will not abandon private companies just yet.

Elisa Tarren, longest Serving LSP Leader, Resigns!
ALSO FEATURING:Tarren’s resignation speech!

The Rt Hon. Elisa Tarren, previous leader of the Liberal Socialist Party, has resigned today after a crushing defeat in her party’s polls of only 38% saying she should remain LSP leader. Hence, she has made the decision to resign as party leader, but not from the House of Commons. Her resignation speech was this:

Dear colleagues,
I have greatly enjoyed my time as LSP leader, and I sincerely hope that I have been as progressive in the minds of others as in my own. I do, however, believe that it is time for me to move on. Recrimination and blame have been rather present at recent LSP member meetings, which saddens me greatly. I am disheartened by my fellow party members and hope the best for the future of the LSP. I have spoken with His Majesty to announce my resignation.
Thank you.

Megan North (pictured below) will become the new LSP leader after winning polls with 68% against Dominic Woltonbury.

The Independent Observer
Luthori Travel and Eastern Luthori Highway Company (ELHC) Announces Highway Toll Construction Project, Placement and Pricing.
We don't want to rip off our highway users, says William Starmer, CEO of Luthori Travel
April 5229

Image
William Starmer explaining his project to the journalists

Fort-William, Luthori: A press conference between the two companies which received the transfer of two highways each, the train and bus company, Luthori Travel, and a new company, founded for the occasion, the Eastern Luthori Highway Company (ELHC), which as its name suggests owns two freeways, which run east from Fort-William, the H5 freeway, which runs from Fort-William to Alchester, via Liore and Adlerberg and the H1 freeway, which runs from Middenhall to Fort William, via Horncastle and Louth. Luthori Travel has obtained the concession for the H4 highways, which goes from Fort-William to Northminister, via Youk and Richbrough, this highway is the longest in the country with 521 km between the two cities, and the H3 highway, which goes from Fort-William to Shippington, it is the shortest highway sold, but one of the busiest, it is the part of the highway between Flington and Shippington which will be privatized, because the H3 highway separates at Flington, the H2 going to Sandulka via Clamfeld, and the H3, not going through Clamfeld, but connecting with the ring road going around the town.

The two CEOs of the two companies, William Starmer, for Luthori Travel and George Hasquith, CEO of the Lionking Motors and Steel Companies, first shareholder of ELHC, held a press conference/presentation of the joint project, to explain their project, the location, and the cost of tolls on their highways. Hasquith spoke first, starting with the H5 highway, whose toll sections will start at Smasmith, 54 km southeast of Fort-William, towards Alchester and Linking City, 32 km north -west of Alchester. The decision to put the tolls more than 50 km from Fort-William was encouraged by the government and that to put more than 30 km from Alchester was encouraged by the density of the population living between 0 and 30 km from Alchester, like many people use the highways to get to work near the city. He announced that the price of the tolls will be in kilometers, but not like what the government recommended them to do, but the prices of the tolls will be fixed on the distance carried out between the different tolls. He announced the number of tolls that will be present on the highways, following government guidelines, he said that for 300 km, there will be about 8 tolls, or, in theory, a toll lap for 37.5 km. So, according to estimates made by specialists, the average toll price will be £19.65 because Hasquith has announced that the price per km will be £0.524. It will also be necessary to see the real distances of the highway after its opening of the works to install the infrastructures facilitating the privatization.

Mr. Hasquith then announced the arrangements for the H1 highway, which runs from Fort-William to Middenhall, for a precise distance of 405 km, he announced that the first toll of the H1 will begin immediately, because the H1 begins after 45 km, the part between the Fort-William ring road and Konstead, where the highway begins, is served by the H45 highway, which is free for the first 34 km and by the national road, owned by the Government of Duchy of Orange, in the last 11 km, before the highway really begins. The highway is strategic and represents a great victory for Hasquith and ELHC, this highway passes through the future Fort-William International Airport and the Carlston International Airport of Fort-William, through amusement parks. And others. The CEO has announced that there will be approximately 11 tolls, but the price per kilometer will be reduced to £0.458 per kilometer, and as there will be 11 tolls the average price will be £16.8.

It was the turn of Mr. Starmer to present his project, the CEO of LT announced that the two highways would open with the toll sections on the horizon May 5229, and that a system and a uniform number of tolls would be put in place in highways controlled by Luthori Travel. A fixed price, without a system like that of ELHC, recommended by the government will be put in place. The number of tolls has been determined via the number of kilometers traveled which are under their authority, i.e. 214 km, with the H4 and 521 km with the H3. For the H3 motorway, Starmer has announced that there will be 14 tolls, but with a single price of £6, the average price for a journey between Fort-William and Northminister will be £84. On the H4 motorway there will be around 6 tolls, and with a higher price of £11, which would make an average price of £66, the average toll spacing on Highway 4 will be 35.7 km , which is shorter, but not by far, than that of Highway 3 whose average spacing will be 37.2 km. Starmer, having been questioned about the prices, explained that he did not want to rip off the people by putting very different prices on the highways he controls. He wants to help people by setting very simple prices.
