Fort William,
November 6th 4939

Grand Priest Jonathan Keeper

A clear victory for the New Luthorian Church
The church has won a clear victory in the 4939 elections. The New Luthorian Church gained 16 seats, which shows that the people have turned to the true faith. The New Luthorian Church is put in a situation where they can be the decision maker for the next cabinet. Grand Priest Jonathan Keeper has held a speech this morning about the Church's grand victory and their plans.

My faithful children,
Elijah has returned, and you have heard him, by electing his heralds, 16 of our best priests into the Imperial Diet to make a change to this nation. We emerged victorious in this election and I thank you, the people for that. I hope that we may make a grand change to this country. We are now put in a situation where the church is the final decision maker in the cabinet negotiations to come. I want to clarify, that we are independent on many issues, but as of now, parties like the Communist party and People's Revolution is out of the question. They have openly opposed our rights, and may Elijah forgive them for that, but the Church hopes to make some sort of arrangement with the sensible Workers' Party and the National Movement as they are not against our faith, unlike the rest of the faithless Imperial Diet. If we make it to the next government, I personally promise to advance our faith's rights and try to establish a footing for the church so we will not lose that soon.

Even Elijah himself has joined the religious people who are celebrating in Fort William, and there was a huge queue to get his blessing.

A new dawn is coming!

Death of Edward Montgomery

Randsey, Middenriding,
11th April 4941

Sorrow news has reached Country HQ, and has spread throughout the nation,
Leader and Founder of the Country Party, Edward Montgomery, peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home in Randsey, aged 81, from a blood clot formed in his neck vein, days after a diet session.
Mr. Montgomery, born on the 4th February 4860 in his home town of Ransdey, from young age took a life of working on his fathers farm just outside the town, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working the land and providing for the locals, making strong connections with people from all around the area, once he became an adult and his father was too old, he took up the ownership of the farm and would continue to work on it until the 4920's, where he would become politically active in advocating for Farmers and Regional rights where the diet had abandoned them.
On the 3rd of November, 4925, aged 65, he would create the Country Party of Luthori, along side many farmers and regional residents of Middenriding, and would contest a seat during the 4926 general election. His parties grassroots campaign style allowed him and his party to connect with locals, and so they were able to score seats in Midden riding in their first run, before they would fully expand into other areas.
However, mid term this year, while preparing to expand the Country Party agenda, he unfortunately passed away.
His legacy for representing those out in regional and rural will not be forgotten, and many people have begun flying their flags at half mast in respect, shortly it is expected a leadership election will take place to determine the attitude and leadership of the party going forward.
After 16 years as leader, Edward will always been considered a rural and regional hero.

May God have mercy on his soul, and may God forgive all of his sins, and let him reside peacefully in heaven

Leadership Election in the Country Party

30th April 4941

Today, at the HQ of the Country Party, the leadership election took place which would determine who would lead the party through the future, people who had full paid membership were eligible to vote.

There are currently 2 major and 1 minor faction in the Country Party that have been dwelling since the beginning of the party, and only know the death of Edward Montgomery has caused them to scuffle for the leadership, and who each had their leader run for the leadership. The factions are:

The Rural-Regional Alliance (major) Lead by Jackson Brumby (aged 76)
The Conservative Caucus (major) Lead by Daniel Smithson (aged 54)
The Caucus for a National Party (minor) Lead by Johnathan Philips (aged 27)

The Rural-Regional Alliance
The RRA was the first faction formed in the early days of the party, mostly made up of members of the Rural-Regional League (a multi-party association).
Most of its policy comes from the initial policy of the party, the sole representation of rural and regional people, specifically agricultural workers, and not bothering much with other policy that would mostly deemed to be irrelevant.
It's leader, Jackson Brumby, born June 4865, is contesting on behalf of the faction.

The Conservative Caucus
The CC was the second faction formed, and is made up mostly of middle-upper class conservatives.
The faction wishes to increase the policy size of the party to include a lot more traditionalist, conservative and religious ideals so as to increase the rural and regional vote.
It's leader, Daniel Smithson, born 21st January 4887, is contesting on the behalf of the faction.

The Caucus for a National Party
The CNP (or just National Caucus (NC)) was the third faction formed toward the end of Edward Montgomery's leadership.
The faction wishes to expand the policy size to encapsulate general localism and other social conservative policies nation wide, which would include urban areas for the first time.
It's leader Johnathan Philips, born 8th November 4813, considerably younger than the other candidates, is contesting on the behalf of the faction.

Prime Minister to visit Darnussia-Narikaton, Keymon: in summary

                    July 4941 [post-dated]

FORT WILLIAM, ORANGE — Prime Minister Tommy Brewer is due to visit Darnussia-Narikaton (3-6 August) and Keymon (7-8 August) next month, Mr Brewer's first state visit since his government's election in 4939. The prime minister's office officially released an itinerary for the trip following Mr Brewer's announcement of the plans to the Diet. These visits mark the beginning of a more outward-looking foreign policy for Luthori, though from a man few would have expected to make such a shift, after a long history of governments neglecting international affairs.

3-4 August: The prime minister will arrive by train in Doressa, the Confederacy's capital, having set out from Fort William in the early morning. He will be received in an official reception where the Luthorian anthem will be played and an honour guard reviewed. He will then attend a state banquet hosted by the country's president, Alexander von Fritz II. Having stayed the night at the presidential palace, the prime minister will meet with Chancellor Markus Hollenheim in the morning before touring Doressa and some of its major landmarks with him. The prime minister will then fly to the Narikatonite islands, visiting historic sites and the old capital of Merenburg.

5-6 August: Returning to the Darnussian mainland, Mr Brewer will join the president for a visit to the death camps where Luthorians and other minorities, including 'unassimilated' Darnussians, were massacred on the orders of Marlon II von Thaller, who commanded that 'the corpses shall be brought back to Luthori one by one; thrown over the wall like missiles'. On his last day in Darnussia, the prime minister will join the president for a trip to the ruins of the 42nd/43rd century 'Anti-Luthorian Defense' (or as it was later known, 'The Wall') constructed by the Dundorfic supremacist Thallerist regime, a symbol of the historic enmity between the two countries under their rule and for some time afterwards. Mr Brewer will then return by train to Fort William.

7-8 August: The prime minister will arrive in Keymon at Jacques Périer International Airport, as in Darnussia-Narikaton to be received in an official reception where the Luthorian anthem will be played and an honour guard reviewed. After a state lunch with President Vincenzo Macri, he will tour the island's capital and meet with Prime Minister Urbano De Paulis of the Social Democratic Party, a man who as an academic trained in applied sociology before his elevation to the premiership is emblematic of the island country's technocratic approach to government. On the second day, he will meet with key business leaders and visit some of the island's sights before returning to Fort William in the afternoon.

The Church Gains Autonomy
Following a proposal by the New Luthorian Church, all Hosian churches were granted special autonomy by the Power to the church act, proposed by NEW. The bill grants all facilities and areas owned by Hosian churches the option to opt out of laws that would be against their faith. The act was proposed to protect the interest lf religious people against the opposition which has voiced their opinion against religious freedom of Hosians. All churches and monasteries of the New Luthorian Church were celebrating the bill's passing, and the Holy Choir was heard marching around the streets of Fort William as the news hit.

                    Luthorian Workers' Party renames

                    January 4942 [post-dated]

FORT WILLIAM, ORANGE — The Luthorian Workers' Party voted today, in a special conference called by the prime minister, to rename itself 'Ord'. The party's new name is an archaic Luthorian word for a point, usually of a weapon, with an additional meaning of 'vanguard'; senior party figures self-flatteringly described the move as 'reflecting the party's role in the country'. Other options considered were 'Dright' and 'Douth', both archaic words for fighting forces.

Despite the vast majority of members in attendance voting for the rebrand, not all were happy. One backbencher described the party's new name as "fucking stupid", and said that Mr Brewer, his rebrand, "and any resulting confusion it may cause amongst the electorate" should be considered at fault for any setback at the next election.

Father Harry Boogh

Into Darnussia and Narikaton
After a discussion spanning for a long time between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Narikaton and Darnussia, and the Grand Priest of the New Luthorian Church, the two have come to a conclusion: The New Luthorian Church will be allowed to spread their faith in N&D. The words of Elijah will be heard! One day everyone will hear.

The Church has arranged a tour with many free priests, the Holy Choir, and even Elijah himself touring around various cities in Darnussia and Narikaton.

All Aboard the Fennessy Express
Edward Fennessy Launches Political Party

Image
Edward Fennessy and his team departing from Armstead National Rail Station this morning.

Armstead, 24 February 4945 - The political world is abuzz with the news of the founding of Empire Forward! (EF!), the first in a string of new parties to enter the Luthorian political scene. The new party, boasting a 4,000+ strong army of volunteer canvassers, is currently on a mission to get to the heart of what matters to the Luthorian electorate. Edward Fennessy (who shares his initials with the party) is spearheading the campaign to "resurrect Luthorian politics". Fennessy will be recognised by those in the know as the former CEO (Investment Bank) of Pretast Credit - Luthori's leading global wealth manager, investment bank and financial services firm. Before that, Fennessy was Head of Global Corporate & Investment Banking with Binent Bank, another internationally recognised investment bank founded here in Luthori.

Fennessy looks to be attempting to turn an illustrious career in finance into that of a statesman after founding his party at the Duke's office in the early hours of this morning. The question on everyone's mind is whether business can translate. In speaking with reporters, Fennessy noted that "new parties often have difficulty breaking into the political setting of Luthori" but stated that he had every confidence in EF!s ability to "penetrate the core of Luthorian politics, however swift or protracted the penetration may be". He seemed to acknowledge that his latest project might not do well straight off the bat, but showed a quiet determination to change Luthorian politics forever - quite how, no one really knows.

As for the party itself, it is not quite clear where it stands. More recently, the views of EF!'s leadership have leaked to the press in relation to the recent goings on in the Diet. Most notably, Fennessy was apparently enraged when he heard of Ord's Segregation Bill. Curiously, there was no comment from EF! leadership when reports of EF! volunteers sharing stories of the infamous "Seductresses" enough to cause the evacuation of a South-Eastern service train. It seems to us as though EF!, and the man behind it, are finding their political footing. This suspicion would be confirmed by the extensive canvassing currently being undertaken by EF! volunteers. All parts of the country have seen faces - young and old - at their doors conducting polls. Is EF! to be a party that caters to the ever-changing view of the electorate, or does it have any solid and defining policy of its own?

The answer to that question may lie with Fennessy himself, who is a widely believed to secretly practise Selucian Rite Aurorianism. Membership of the Holy Luthori Church is, of course compulsory, however Fennessy is known to keep certain precepts associated with the Aurorian Patriarchal Church. Perhaps most revealing of all, Fennessy gave testimony at a recent Diet hearing for the public petition from the Duke of Middenridding for greater spiritual tolerance. Fennessy said at the hearing that "[He], of all people... [knows] that adherence to a faith through compulsion is not real adherence" prompting discussions about his convictions. Perhaps religious tolerance, and the spiritual aspects of politics will be the defining aspect of EF!s platform, especially in the wake of developments surrounding the New Luthori Church. Only time will tell what will come of this fledgling organisation and it's army of poll-wielding volunteers as it tests the political waters of this country. One thing is for certain, this space should be keenly watched.

Fort William,
October 15th 4945

Father Jonathan Keeper

The National Movement has been using the New Luthorian Church
The New Luthorian Church has been a part of the government for a few years, because of the LWP's (currently Ord) proposal to include the New Luthorian Church in the cabinet, namely the chancellor of Justice to protect the believers of the faith from future interference with the opposition's anti-clergical positions. Now the National Movement has threatened to remove NEW from government because of them voting against bills that are against Hosianism, and their faith. Father Jonathan Keeper, the Grand Priest of the New Luthorian Church has given a response to this:

Greetings, followers of Elijah,
We have received threats from the national movement of removing our post as the chancellor of justice, which I remind you was granted only to protect the church's members from being prosecuted by the anti-clergy opposition positions for out views, and we are trying to be forced to vote for bills that are against Hosianism and the ways of the New Luthorian Church by the National Movement. We have been "warned" by the National Movement because we are voting against some of their proposals the Church does not believe in. We cannot support a party that threatens their way to power, and I hope Ord, the party who originally offered us the position won't either. We will be negotiating with the rainbow coalition to work against this threatening and this so called "Hosianist" party to oppose their fake beliefs to increase their power. We expect an apology from the National Movement and sincerely hope they will continue supporting of our faith, even if we do not agree with their policies. If they are truly against our faith, they should be ashamed of using us in such a way only to gain our support. The LCP has been receptive of us, and we hope the other rainbow coalition partners are too, because we cannot work with the National Movement if they truly have only been working with us to gain more power. How shameful. May Elijah forgive them, but may God be their final judgement
