Revolutionary Council Makes Keymon a Principality and Dissolves Itself; New Democratization Bill Passes with Support from Royal Nationalist Party

Image

Turtle Bay, Keymon
May 25th, 4555

The Revolutionary Council has dissolved itself, after it declared Keymon a principality with Queen Marievu Ciriaccu now becoming “Princess of all Princes”. Princess Marievu Ciriaccu has approved of said changes, and has approved of her position as a princess saying “my father always treated me like a princess, so I guess this title won’t be a huge shift for me”. However the principality will not be a “true” principality. A “true” principality being a principality where the prince or princess holds absolute power. The Principality of Keymon will be a principality where most executive power lays with the Head of State, which would be the president. This has satisfied both the democratic and monarchist sects of the Revolutionary Council. However, this has angered the Socialist/CARSS sects of the Revolutionary Council, mainly coming from the Labour Party. The Revolutionary Council reassured the public that-
Democracy has come back to Keymon. Whilst we are officially a principality, the legislation and cabinet will keep a majority of powers.

The Royal Nationalist Party, the reformed Honor and Stability power, has passed a bill called the ‘Ending the Age of Fascism Act of 4554’. This act has redistributed certain powers from the federal government to the local governments and democratizing the nation. The act passed with 100% of the seats voting for it, as all pro-fascist senators where removed from the Senate and were banned from ever holding office again. Both the Royal Nationalist Party and Labour Party voted yes to the act and the act passed within mere hours after it was proposed, as no debate occurred. A new cabinet will be built soon and all pro-fascist governments members will be removed unless they condemn fascism and remove any and all fascist laws from the nation.

SOESS Organization, Formed By Keymon Ministry of Finance to “Better the Interconnectivity of Seleya”

Image

July 4556

The Keymon Ministry of Finance has recently formed the Seleyan Organization for Economic Stability and Security or SOESS organization. This organization was influenced by both the Seleyan Union and the Seleyan Economic Area, using similar language to both. However the area where SOESS differs is in its actual articles. SOESS took aspects from the SU and SEA treaty to create, what the Ministry of Finance called a “great compromise between both organizations and the best possible Seleyan Economic Group or Alliance”. The SOESS has already formed it’s legislative assembly and has seen one proposal put forward into the assembly, which established the rules of the proposal system. However so far, the only members of the SOESS is Keymon. Yet Mordusia may soon ratify the treaty, which would be the first nation(other than Keymon)to ratify the treaty.

Keymon Defense Forces Lay Off 15% of All Active Duty Personnel As Budget Cuts Take Effect

Image

August 4557

The Keymon Defense Forces have laid off over fifteen percent of its active duty personnel as major budgets cuts have stricken the defense forces. These budget cuts come as part of the “de-fascism” of Keymon, pushed by both the Royal Nationalist and Labour Parties. With the military junta no longer around, both the Royal Nationalist and Labour Parties have proposed budgetary reforms which mainly focus on the ministry of Defense. The budget has been slashed from around 150 billion KED or 67.5 billion LOD to 111 billion KED or around 50 billion LOD. These changes have forced the Ministry of Defense to make drastic cuts in spending. Due to this, not only is the number of active duty personnel being cut down but also the amount of equipment the Ministry of Defense is purchasing every year and reeling in the looseness currently present when it comes to spending. These budgetary changes have effected all aspects of the government, as most ministries have had there budgets cut. However, the Ministry of Defense is the most hard hit with over 25% of its budget being taken away.

The main issue surrounding defunding of the defense forces is the possibility the government will lack the funds to train conscripts for there mandatory 1 year of training once they graduate high school. “This has been the backbone of Keymon’s military power” said military analyst Émilien Saint-Yves. “If the Defense Forces lose the ability to fund the training of conscripts, Keymon will be forced down one of two roads. 1, they find the funding and continue the program or 2, they fail to find funding and destroy the backbone of Keymon’s defense”. However, the funding issue is unlikely to be fixed due to partisan tensions within the capital, mainly comprising the democratic socialist Labour Party and the royalist capitalist party of the Royal Nationalist Party.

Royal Nationalist Party Begins Strikes, As Labor Party Passed Cabinet with No Negotiations

Image
Strikes In Turtle Bay

Keymon
September 4558

The Royal Nationalist Party has called a general workers strike, which has ground Keymon’s industry to a halt. This strike will occur across all sectors of the economy, with an estimated 50 million KED being lost per month due to the strike. This strike has already cost the country over 150 million KED. The Keymon Employment Statistics Orgqnization has stated that well over 300,000 people are protesting and many small companies have already gone out of business. Around 7,500 businesses have reportedly suffered major financial losses or complete bankruptcy. This major financial instability had lowered Keymon’s credit ranking from highly stable to extremely unstable.

The Royal Nationalist Party had stated that, until negotiations on budgets, taxation and cabinet positions start, the strikes would continue.

The government in a speech told Labour supporters that the Royal Nationalists
will never get what they want!
The President of Keymon Ryan Soud who is half Barmenistani in origin and half Keymonite showed the RNP that they will get nothing out of these strikes except low support for them. He wants the strikes to stop but any increase in paramilitary forces would mean to sue party leaders and their assets. Ryan Soud is wanting to change the constitution to a Republic and dissolve the Monarchy in which they think that they are RNP puppets.

Royal Nationalist Army Shuts Down All Industry by Force

Image
Fires Started by Royal Nationalist Army

Keymon
November 12th, 4558

The Royal Nationalist Army, in response to a bill called ‘A Socialist Economic System’ , has publicly announced it would begin rearming and shutting down every business and industry via force. The Royal Nationalist Army has already began shutting down non-royalist companies, by preventing employees from going to work. The Royal Nationalist Army has stated it will “destroy the disgusting socialist filth of the Labour Party, even if we must go to war!”. Whether or not this threat is serious is yet to be determined. The Royal Nationalist Army has seen some confrontation from the Labour Parties Paramilitary, however no casualties have been reported yet.

Secretary of State for Energy Paul Bozonnet is intervening in negotiations between the Jamestown Fuel Trading Company and
Oxilever aiming to broker a speedy agreement between both in their current impasse. He said Oxilever currently owed the
state-owned Jamestown Fuel Trading Company over $300 million for fuel supplied without any written agreement. Speaking in the
House of Assembly, Bozonnet added that the state-owned Hibiscus Petroleum (HP) maintained the capacity to supply fuel however he
had intentions of intervening and resolving the issue as fast as possible. Bozonnet was replying to queries from independent
members of the House of Assembly on the impasse between Jamestown Fuel Trading and Oxilever after Jamestown discontinued
supplying Oxilever with fuel. Jamestown Fuel Trading Company stated that this resulted from the company's failure to renegotiate
a supply agreement with Oxilever since the beginning of the decade and that Oxilever defaulted on payments owed from 4660.
Oliever accused Jamestown to be pushing the market towards a monopoly situation. The National Petroleum Dealers Union President
Joseph About who stated that Jamestown Fuel Trading's move was "unfair and unjust" has called on both the Secretary of State for
Energy Paul Bozonnet and Minister of Finance Paulette Leblanc to intervene. He warned of threats to jobs resulting from the
situation. Yesterday some motorists complained of fuel problems. Bozonnet, replying to independent senators about the impact
said, "This is an issue of non-payment for supply. It's an issue of non-signatory of an agreement which has been in force for
several months. As Energy Secretary it is my intention to intervene, however we have to ensure that anyone who had been supplied
with fuel that is paid for by taxpayers, pays their bills on time."

Bozonnet said that Jamestown Fuel Trading Company which is the wholesale supplier of motoring fuels and Oxilever is currently
involved in negotiations "And it's expect the impasse will be of short duration minimising any disruption to the motoring
public." Saying there was no breakdown of negotiations, he added. "What happened was, when Jamestown was formed in previous
years, there was a short term written contract put in place with Oxilever. That expired earlier this year and since then, the
agreement between Jamestown Fuel Trading and Oxilever has been by way of a monthly arrangement executed via letter on the same
terms and previous arrangement regarding credit signed between both parties." Bozonnet added, "Between April and now Oxilever
signed the letter and adhered to the credit terms for the supply of fuel which are, in the first instance, 45 days then it goes
to 55 days, from the first supply of fuel." "Later in the year, Jamestown Fuel Trading sent the usual monthly letter to Oxilever
for its signature, Oxilever declined to sign the letter and Oxilever as given fuel on good faith by Jamestown Fuel Trading.
Oxilever decline to pay for the fuel and it owed Jamestown $300 million as of the current date. Jamestown Fuel Trading and
Oxilever met and Oxilever agreed to make a part payment of $90 million, however it only paid $70 million and it has declined to
sign any written agreement with Jamestown Fuel Trading and currently owes the company in excess of around $200 million." On the
possible impact on motorists, Bozonnet noted that the Hibiscus Petroleum (HP) maintained a vast network of 120 gas stations
throughout the country, making the comparison to Oxilever's 20. He noted that Oxilever's service stations had been centred around
densely urban areas such as Jamestown, Turtle Bay and Leighstown.

When asked on whether she intends on intervening, Minister of Finance Paulette Leblanc stated that she would be monitoring the
negotiation process, but stated that she had complete confidence in Secretary Bozonnet's abilities recognising that he is a
former chemical engineer and marketing adviser from Hibiscus Petroleum. She stated that she sees no reason for her intervention
into the situation recognising that there is no immediate threat to the capitalisation of Keymon's limited petroleum and natural
gas assets. Leblanc works in collaboration with Secretary Bozonnet to ensure that Keymon's energy assets are properly managed so
that their maximum capitalisation can be harnessed and not wasted. Hibiscus Petroleum stated that the country had already peaked
in production and that output was reducing annually. CEO of Hibiscus Petroleum, Jean-Loup Bellegarde stated that reduction in
output means that Keymon is essentially running out of oil and would have to either tap into the emergency reserves (which are
not plentiful) or to look outside on importing fuel (which Leblanc stated would force an increase in energy prices, the removal
of the incumbent fuel subsidy and would put significant strain on the state to import the amount of oil needed fuel Keymon.
Whilst Bozonnet stated that the transition from oil to natural gas as the nation's primary revenue source begins with the
formation of the National Gas Board.

National Progressive Party Takes Power in Keymon, Dissolves Monarchy, Promises Sweeping Changes

In a dramatic change from the stagnant transient government that has ruled the Principatu di Klavia in absentia for decades, the National Progressive Party has taken control of the legislature and has promised an end to noble rule and the de-facto caste system in the island nation. The last time such an event happened, the nobility took control of the nation's army to wage a bloody civil war for the heart of Keymon -- but this time around, with the nation's army having been disbanded over a decade ago, there seems to be no avenue for the nobility class to fight back. Nicolau Agostini, the de-facto Presidente of the new "Republicca di Keymon", as the NPP has taken to calling the nation, has stated that the nobles currently in the country may nominally keep their titles, but may not pass them on, and may not receive the rights previously afforded as a member of that class. In this way, Agostini and the NPP aim to see a gradual generational killing of the class rather than a radical purging of noble titles. Still, many Klavian nobles have opted to leave the nation for more favorable countries.

The months ahead are bound to be uncharted territory for Keymon, with the NPP promising budgetary reform, decreased taxes on the lower and middle classes, and sweeping social reforms to bring the country into the new century. Time will tell if the island nation will embrace these changes and adapt, or sink back into obscurity.

New Political Party Established by Former Heir to Throne, Claims He Will “Defeat the Vile Socialist Threat”

Image
Guadino Catena VIII

Turtle Bay, Keymon
June 23th, 4734

Guadino Catena VIII, the former heir to the now deposed monarchy, recently proclaimed that he and several of his close friends would be forming a new monarchist party to combat the recently formed socialist government. Guadino, the oldest child of the now dethroned King Guadino Catena VII, made the announcement at his families estate on the outskirts of Turtle Bay. This announcement had been wildly rumored across the nation ever since the formation of the socialist government back in April. However, during his speech regarding the formation of his party, Guadino stated that:
This is not a revolution to destroy democracy or to topple a government. It is merely the expression of political opposition to the current socialist government

Guadino in his speech, also extolled the beliefs his party would fight for. These mainly included parliamentary monarchism, free trade, good wages, and the increase in the armed forces. He also called out previous governments for there-
“Completely terrible decision to join ODEN and begin drug legalization”

Guadino has promised that in the April 4740 elections, his party will overthrow the socialists and install a “fair monarchy”
