Acid Rock Band Starship 2 Yesterday

After suffering a shocking loss at FOMAT II, with Keymon's performance of Ballad of Achilles by Sea Foam being beaten back to sixth place, it has been contemplated whether or not Keymon would allow the risk to be taken to send another psychedelic rock band to the next FOMAT being held in Luxon, Kalistan. However, after again allowing Keymon's nomination be chosen by popular vote, the band Starship 2 Yesterday was elected to be sent to Luxon, a band that has been described as much more psychedelic than their predecessor. Despite the genre's failure at the previous FOMAT, psychedelic rock and its compatriot genres have maintained their dominance in Keymon, which has allowed for the rise in fame of groups like S2Y in recent years. S2Y is, well it's best to be put in the words of vocalist Elena Chirzu, "a trip to you know, like... THE PAST... you know when everything was fine and cool and we didn't have to worry about things like taxes and government concentration camps." Despite their... odd self descriptions, S2Y has a great sound that's dominated the Keymonite psychedelic scene and has made itself no stranger to the top charts. As has become the custom, S2Y will be writing a new song for FOMAT III and will not be releasing it any sooner than when they're on the stage at Legends Amphitheater. and they've remained relatively silent on the topics in terms of hints to lyrics or tune.

Keymon Music Icon Mark Globü Dances in Music Video

More than thirteen years ago, Mark Globü and the Crates burst into the limelight of Keymon's music scene, one of the first artists to gain fame in the in the rise of Keymon's rock and roll industry. More than a decade later, Mark Globü is still rocking the electric waves, though now it is just Globü having dropped the crates in 4785 to go solo. When Globü first hit the scene, he brought with him a genre of music that emphasized catchy electric tunes and upbeat vocalizations of optimistic lyrics. Globü complemented this genre with his own personal eccentricity, often performing his songs in strange costumes and with amusing choreography. Globü's choice to sing in only his native language, Dundorfian, only added further to his enigmatic character, as most Keymonites don't speak the language and were thus left only to guess at the lyrics. Though Globü was an instant success in the early days of his career, over time he fell into relative obscurity as a B or C list music artist. However, in recent months, Globü has begun to make a comeback with the release of his new album Königin which grabbed immediate attention from old fans and new listeners alike. No doubt, the instant hit of his new album is what brought Globü back into the public mind when he was chosen to represent Keymon at FOMAT-IV. Globü is the fourth in line of top artists in the Keymonite industry to have the honor of representing the island at the FOMAT, and is no doubt worthy of such an honor. When asked to comment on his pick, Globü reportedly stared the reporter down and said simply "Ja, ich gehe. I go." When pressed further, reporter Enzio Contesu claimed that Globü continued to stare, slowly began to grin, and said "Ich werde ein Leid heisst 'Anana' singen. Ja, das ist mein Leid. Sehr gut!" which in Luthorian means "I'll play a song called 'Pineapple'. Yeah, that's my song. Very good!"

August 4803, Turtle Bay: Atop a stage in an overcrowded amphitheater stood an army general, his speech angered and his targets clear. He decried Grand Duke Bryce Leigh XVI as an illegitimate ruler, and made clear his intentions to defeat his parties candidate in the December elections. General Augusto Versace, the head of the United Patriotic Front, has been a staunch critic of the new government and of the Grand Duke. However, this rally was not merely a means to attack the government, but instead it was used as a place for the UPF to demonstrate their new platform. Whilst other issues, such as abortion and LGBT rights where primarily discussed, one issue caught the eye of both the domestic and international audience. Midway through his statements regarding planned changes to the Armed Forces of Keymon, he proclaimed that:

The Keymon Navy, under a UPF government, will defend our EEZ, which we plan to extend by about 950,000 km southward. These territorial waters lie on the Maddog continental shelf and, as such, fall under our jurisdiction. We’ll use the Keymon Navy to remove any foreign nations illegally using our EEZ, something which the government has ignored for far too long.

The announcement came as a surprise to international onlookers, as Keymon had previously relinquished territorial claims on Pirland, under pressure from Dorvik and other members of the Northern Council. Many had assumed that, under threat of international sanctions, the people of Keymon would resist their politicians attempt to annex foreign land. However, General Versace’s statements drew applause and cheers from the crowd, indicating that the people of Keymon may truly wish to expand their nation territorially, against the advice of economic and military strategists.

Dr. Solocone Vitolo, Professor of Economics at Moretti University, did an analysis of the economic impacts of controlling the EEZ that General Versace wishes to own. In his analysis he noted that whilst having an expanded EEZ would bring nearly 35,000 new petroleum jobs to Keymon, it would most likely cause international sanctions to be placed on the country, leading to a loss of trade costing anywhere from 23 billion to 321 billion KED. Dr. Vitolo stated that:

Whilst the petroleum jobs would certainly benefit the economy in the short term, international sanctions would severely impact Keymon’s ability to feed it’s populous, leading to a potential famine and civil unrest. Whilst I do believe that an expanded EEZ would benefit the countries aquaculture industry, such a move must be done with the express consent of foreign powers, like Deltaria and Valruzia, neither of which will most likely approve of such a move.
