Four Pillars Movement Wins General Election, Wins with 80% of Seats

The recent elections where a major upset for the incumbent government. The new-comer, nationalist party, the 4 Pillars Movement, gained over 80% of seats in the Parliament, making it by far the largest party. The 4 Pillars Movement had previously been seen as a grassroots movement with little support from major urban areas. Due to this conception, many political analysts predicted that the 4 Pillars Movement would only gain a minority of seats in the Parliament. This upset however has shaken this belief and some are asking as to why many middle class families voted against a socialist government and voted for a monarchist party?

Political Analyst Quintilio Carfagno may have an answer:

The main thing that the 4 Pillars Movement promised was a return of the monarchy and the return of more conservative fiscal and social policies. We can see this through the legislative history of the 4 Pillars Movement. The leadership of the party have proposed laws banning homosexuals from serving in the army, banned public homosexual relations, and had been homosexual adoption. Whilst the newly crowned monarch and head of the party, Gaudino Catena VIII, promises to respect the rights of homosexuals and women, it is doubtful he will follow through with this. Truly, this election shows a conservative backlash against the far-left policies of the DLP. However, this backlash seems to have resided slightly. Now we can expect more center-right social policies. However, this doesn’t mean that the rights of homosexuals and women will be protected. It simply means other social issues may be ignored, such as marijuana and gambling legalization.

His Majesty Gaudino Catena VIII was not available for comment, however his secretary did comment on the social policies on the agenda for the government. She stated that:

Mr. Catena has already stated publicly that the rights of all citizens of keymon, whether homosexual or not, will be respected. He will keep his promises as King and as the leader of our party

Financial Analyst Delfino Crescenzi offers a different explanation as to why a majority of Keymonites voted against the socialists:

It comes down to government control. The culture of keymon has always been one of decentralization and individual freedom. When these freedoms are taken away economically, people will naturally be upset. We saw this with the high prices for oil and natural gas in recent months that have sparked occasional protests. People are simply tired of the government being an ever present entity in there own homes.

Regardless of the reason for this major electoral upset, this will go down in Keymonite history as one of the greatest changes in the political landscape of this fair nation.

Ministry of Transport Bans All Travel To and From Likatonia, Badaria Due to Religious Extremism

The Ministry of Transport has recently announced that a full travel ban is being imposed upon the nations of Likatonia and Badaria, in response to the rise of a new extremist branch of Hosianism. The extremists, calling themselves the “Reformists”, claim that the usage of saints is immoral and that only good acts can “save” a person. This extremists have since been converting people throughout Seleya and Majatran, with an estimated number of around 100k reformists. Most reformists currently reside in Likatonia and Badaria, where several reformists churches and pastors have popped up.

In response to this rise in religious extremism, the Ministry of Transport has instituted a travel ban on the nations of Likatonia and Badaria. The Ministry of Transport announced the decision last week and today implemented it, leaving several groups Likatonians at Turtle Bay International Airport stranded. These groups of Likatonians where temporarily detained before being booked a one way flight back to Likatonia.

The Ministry of Transport has defended its travel ban, stating that:

These religious extremists threaten the liberty of Keymonite citizens. These are fanatics who have been known to kill those who oppose them. We will not tolerate that kind of threat to Keymon. Under any circumstance

King Gaudino Catena VIII has recently come out in support of the Ministries policy, stating that-

As the official defender of the Hosian faith on this fair isle, and the islets that make up this great nation, I have an obligation to defend members of the faith from this religious extremism. We will not tolerate extremists from any religion. Period.

Protestors have gathered outside of the Ministry of Transport, in response to the travel ban, calling for the Ministry to reverse its decision and allow free travel between Likatonia and Badaria and Keymon. Protestors generally feel that this new branch isn’t “extremist”, and is simply another way of interpreting Hosianism, as indicated by several signs here at the protests. Police have shown up to the area, however overall the situation is calm.

Monarchy Officially Restored, Gaudino Catena VIII Crowned King

Millions watched as, once more, a king began his reign over keymon. The throne, left without a king for over 2 decades, now had one once more. Today, Gaudino Catena VIII become King Gaudino Catena VIII of the Royal House of Catena.

The eldest son of Gaudino Catena VII (the previous monarch), Gaudino Catena VIII was born on October 18th 4710. He was raised in the Imperial Palace located on the outskirts of Turtle Bay. He was raised by his Mother, Eveléa of House Orléans-Vasser-DeChambeau. At the age of 23, Gaudino lost his Royal title following the abolishment of the monarchy by the socialists party. However, just one year later, Guadino formed the 4 Pillars Movement to reinstall the monarchy. After over half a decade of campaigning, the Four Pillars Movement won a massive upset victory in the parliament, winning 80% of all seats.

The coronation started, as Gaudino stepped outside of the Imperial Palace and into a carriage located beside the gate. This carriage brought him downtown to the Parliament, where thousands watched the king’s carriage roll by. Once inside Parliament, Guadino was offered the crown by the Speaker of the Parliament, to which he accepted. Following this, he was escorted back to his carriage and traveled back to the Imperial Palace with Parliament in tow. Once back at the Imperial Palace, he stepped upon a wooden platform built for the coronation. He knelt down as the Arorian Patriarch of Keymon, Patriarch Antero Galeazzi, announces him as the rightful king of keymon. Following this, applause erupted from the audience, with chants of King of Keymon heard sporadically.

The King then made a speech regarding his new position as monarch and what it meant for Keymonite democracy. He stated that:

Simply because I am now taking up the title of monarch does not mean that Keymonite democracy is dead. On the contrary, Keymonite democracy is evil g revitalized with my coronation. I am merely a symbol of this nation. I have no legislative nor executive control. Parliament and the Prime Minister have those power respectively. However, I am your King. And as your king, I will represent keymon the best I can abroad and at home. I will fight for keymon and the rights of its people. No matter the cost. The people of keymon put there trust in me. And you are not wrong to do so. Blessed be the king who listens to his subjects. Holy be the king who is a subject to his subjects.

Pastors Sent to Jelbania, Badaraian Pastors Continue Conversions, Week of Prayer Announced After Restrictions

After success in Jelbania John Benton has taken twenty five pastors with him on a two week trip to Jelbania, they will be breaking ground on a new mega-church that can seats five thousand in the capital city in hopes of reaching out of Jelbanian politicians. They will be going around making speeches and preaching wherever they can, some have had meetings with families, others are preaching to hundreds, it is estimated that after their first five days they may have been able to convert another one to two thousand people to the Reformed Hosian Church. Due to foreign pastors not being able to visit Badara Badarians have come to Likatonia to hear Benton and others preach, Benton has trained around twenty native pastors by now, who have had great success in Badara it is expected they have been able to convert between six and seven thousand people their, they have also finished building a church in Badara that can seats three thousand people.

John Benton made a speech encouraging Reformed Hosians, and condemning the restrictions of travel,

I encourage our brothers in these turbulent times, countries are restricting us, even though we have caused no violence, governments are in an outrage, only because they are afraid of us. I ask for these travel restrictions to end, I ask for religious freedom to prevail, you countries that ban travel to Likatonia, we are not just in Likatonia, we have a small church in Hutori, we have believers in Badara and Jelbania, we will not lose this fight we will prevail. Your scrutiny is unnecessary we cause no violence or unrest, it is you who does that, I urge all Reformed Hosains to peacefully protest do not cause violence only defend yourself, we will get through this. I call for a week of prayer for our persecutors, I call for all Hosians to join.

Ministry of Transport Nationalizes Airline Industry, Promises “A Better Alternative”

The Ministry of Transport, following a major internal review of transportation infrastructure, has announced the nationalization of all keymon airlines. The announcement was made earlier today, at a press conference called by Minister of Transport Alessandru Bartolomei. This press conference discussed possible budget increases, new infrastructure projects being considered by the Ministry of Transport, and the co-operative building of infrastructure between private companies and the government. However, near the end of the conference, Mr. Bartolomei dropped a bombshell. He announced that, effective within two weeks, all keymon airlines would become nationalized and would be reformed under a single, government run airline. Following this announcement and some questions from reporters, the press conference ended.

This press conference and sudden announcement has caused both panic and hope within the keymon airlines industry. Mr. Ferriera, a major stakeholder in Keymon Regional Air, is in favor of the nationalization and sees it as a way for the industry to bounce back.

The industry had seen a major downturn recently due to concerns over economic reforms and market slowdowns. However, with a nationalized company, not only is economic downturns no longer a problem, due to government cash reserves, but it also eliminates the major factor for airline costs-extremely competitive fuel prices.

However others are far more concerned about what this could mean both for the airline industry and the entire keymon economy. Dr. Bassetti, a political scientists from Turtle Bay University, believes that this move could harm the popularity of the Four Pillars Movement, as it ran in a platform of free-market capitalism.

I do see this becoming a major issue in the next election. The Four Pillars Movement ran off of a platform that actively called out socialism and despised government intervention. However, now we see the Four Pillars Movement using government intervention. Whether this is justified or not, it will harm the parties image for years to come

Representatives of the Four Pillars Movement refused to comment on the situation.

Whilst the motion still has to pass the Parliament, it is expected to pass with bipartisan support form both the Four Pillars Movement and the Socialist Party.

Ministry of Transport Bans Keymoon Airlines from Entering National Airspace

The Ministry of Transport, in response to the recent decision of Keymoon Airlines to leave the nation prior to the nationalization of all airlines, has banned Keymoon airlines from entering Keymon Airspace. Keymoon Airlines is a budget airline operated by the Valruzian LOT Group, who also operates airlines elsewhere throughout Terra. Following the announcement of the nationalization of all Keymon airlines, Keymoon Airlines re-headquartered itself to Nowogard and promised to continue flying to Keymon.

In response to this, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has banned Keymoon Airlines from entering national air-space. According to the Minister of Infrastructure Antoinette Cerfbeer-

Keymoon Airlines directly attempted to avoid the nationalization process by leaving the country and leaving so many jobs behind. Whilst it is there right to leave the nation and stop operating there airline in it whenever they wish, they have directly harmed the people of keymon by leaving. So, due to there blatant attempt to avoid nationalization and there harming of thousands of Keymonites, Keymoon Airlines is hereby banned from entering Keymon airspace. They will not, under any circumstance besides major emergencies, be allowed to enter keymon airspace. This decision is final and we no longer wish to negotiate this with Keymoon Airlines nor the LOT Group. Thank you

The Ministry of Transport has stated that whilst the nationalization of all remaining airlines is occurring, it is being postponed until May 25th, 4743 to further give the government and airlines time to form the new nationalized airline, which is rumored to be called ‘Keymon Airways’.
