NOWOGARD - Valruzian Ministry for Foreign Affairs has announced that a group of 20 teachers at Keymonite Diplomatic School in Nowogard whose entry and working visas expired this month won't be granted new visas. This might cause issues in the functioning of the diplomatic school sponsored by Keymonite Embassy in Nowogard which schools around 190 students of Keymonite descent and most importantly children of Keymonite ambassador in Nowogard. The Ministry has not responded to questions about the cause of its action. According to sources close to the ministry, it might an indirect answer to the continuing economic tension between the little island nation of Keymon and the Valruzian aviation giant LOT Group which recently gained an important ally in form of the Valruzian government. The school could be closed in retaliation for curtailing the LOT Group's Keymoon Airlines access to the Keymonite airline market.

Parliament Passes Major Economic Liberalization Bill

The Keymon Parliament has recently passed a new set of bills, dedicated to liberalizing the economy. The bills, known as the Keymon Economic Liberalization Acts, ended large amounts of red tape and lowered the corporate tax rate form 30% to 15%, making it one of the lowest in the world. The bill also reduced the essential and non-essential sales taxes to 10 and 0 percent respectively.

The bills voting was boycotted by the Socialist Party, who left the Parliamentary Chambers when voting began. However, the bill still passed with a super-majority, making it law. According to Minister of Finance Edmond Demaret-

This bill was signed so that businesses can no longer be oppressed by the government. So that our nations companies can spread there wings and soar to great things. Our nations economy depends on these businesses and the least we can do, is support them in there endeavor to do so.

These economic changes also brought changes to the drug and gambling laws of Keymon. In the bill, it specifies how marijuana is the only narcotic allowed to be consumed legally. It also lays out the process by which casinos can open up within the country.

Defense Forces Purchase MANPAD’s From Lourenne

The Ministry of Defense recently announced that it would be purchasing over 6,500 Mistral MANPADS from the country of Lourenne. The agreement was reached following a diplomatic discussion over free trade and the position the Lourenneis military played in Keymonite defensive strategies. The announcement comes as the Ministry of Finance approves of a new budget that would nearly double the Ministry of Defense’s budget, which was met with praise by the Minister of Defense.

“The Keymon Defense Forces have been lacking in anti air capabilities”, said Minister of Defense, and veteran of the Keymon Defense Forces, Menardo D'Arezzo. “The Ministry of Defense has a strategy in place, in which, the anti-air capabilities of the Keymon Defense Forces are crucial to success. However, we haven’t had the financial ability to purchase anti-air weaponry for our infantry. However, now we can successfully purchase this weaponry due to the budget increases. I can say with upmost certainty that the purchasing of these MANPADS from Lourenne will guarantee that our anti-air capabilities will be improved exponentially and that our infantry can now defend themselves from threats from above”.

Outside observers have noted the lack of anti-air and anti-vehicle weaponry in the Keymon Defense Forces. As noted by one observer-“if you where to fly a helicopter over a battalion of Keymon soldiers, all they could do was stop and stare upward. They have no weaponry to guarantee there Defense from above”.

Ministry of Transport Ends Likatonian Travel Ban

The Ministry of Transport, following a major governmental change in Likatonia, has lifted the ban on travel to and from Likatonia. The ban, which was in response to a major religious extremist branch of the Hosian faith rising in Likatonia, was implemented in 4741 following a tense diplomatic standoff between both nations at the General Assembly. The previous Likatonian government, which allegedly had direct ties to the Hosian Reformed Church, had allowed the HRC to freely travel to foreign countries to proselytize citizens of said nations. This travel ban did not ban trade between both nations, which did remain stable. However, the travel ban did harm both nations tourism industries.

Following the announcement of the lifting of the travel ban, Minister of Transport Antoinette Cerfbeer gave a speech on television, discussing the recent decision.

The recent decision to withdraw the travel ban is due to a diplomatic agreement between the new government of Likatonia and our government that guarantees that members of the extremist Hosian Reformed Church cannot enter Keymon. We could call this an early Christmas gift to the people of both Likatonia and Keymon.

Ministry of Infrastructure Forms Keymon Airway as Nationalized Airliner

The Ministry of Infrastructure has recently announced the formation of a new nationalized airliner, called Keymon Airways. Keymon Airways is using assets of the recently nationalized airlines to fill out its aircraft inventory.

The new nationalized airline was formed following recent discussion within the Ministry of Infrastructure, which involves discussions around the legal rights of doing so. Ultimately, the Ministry of Infrastructure decided to form the new airway, under the Ministry’s subsidiary control. This means that, the Ministry of Infrastructure will be the legal owners of the airway but will remain out of the operations of the airway, leaving it to individuals deemed appropriate.

The airways founding was announced to the public by the Minister of Infrastructure Antoinette Cerfbeer, who stated that:

This airline will be one of the best airlines ever created. This is a home-made airline that will be cheap. Ticket prices range from 57 LOD for economy class seats to 197 LOD for first class seats. This price range is not only realistic but it directly benefits our tourism and services industry. These benefits greatly outweigh any costs that the Ministry of Infrastructure could possibly pay for this. Ultimately, this is the best thing for not only Keymonites and the Keymon government, but for anyone who wishes to come to Keymon.

All assets seized by the Ministry of Infrastructure has henceforth been handed to the ownership of Keymon Airways.

As the plane slows to a crawl upon the runway, the doors of the small VIP aircraft open. The man who steps out is the leader of the First Worlds smallest country yet he has been invited to partake in a conference surrounded by nations nearly ten times his countries size, with militaries and economies to match. Prime Minister Régis Chausson of the Kingdom of Keymon steps out of his plane and makes his way to his limousine, which will take him to the conference hall (which has remained classified due to matters of international security) to meet with 8 other delegates from around the world at the E8 conference.

The E8 conference is a conference dedicated to discussing economic issues effecting the entire world. The conference is attended by the 8 largest economies in the world and may include guest nations invited to give the opinions of other, smaller nations in the discussion. The E8 this year will discuss things such as climate change, supply chains, and trade cooperation.

The invitation, once revealed by the Prime Minister, was unexpected, to say the least. Keymon has always been a small power in a giants world, usually firmly allied with one side or remaining neutral and keeping to itself. “This invitation”, said Prime Minister Régis Chausson at a press conference at Turtle Bay International Airport before boarding his flight, “proves we are moving up economically in this world. This world has been dominated by giants, by nations hell bent on there own whims and without a care about small nations such as us. From now, our voice shall be heard loud and clear on the international stage. This is all thanks to the work of our government who, in less 10 years, has managed to increase wages by 25% and lower the prices of food and of other essential products. Our government has made this nation strong. And we will continue to make this nation strong. Keymon shall be strong now, tomorrow, and forever”. Following this speech, Prime Minister Chausson boarded his plane and began the 8 hour journey to Lourenne’s capital city.

If you walk along the streets of Jamestown or through the bustling and lovely streets of Turtle Bay, you will no doubt hear a foreign tongue. These cities are, of course, tourist hubs. However recently, a specific tongue has been heard more than others. Canrialles is one of the most spoken secondary language throughout Terra, with billions speaking the language throughout the world and with many nations having it as there official language. And whilst the Canrailles tongue is heard often, the Canrailles you shall hear most often in Keymon has an accent that is unique to one nation. Lourenne. Lourenne, as one of the worlds largest economic and military powers, has been the center of all things Canrailles and, being such a large economic power, Lourennais citizens often vacation to Keymon for the (comparatively) warmer weather. Yet why, now, are there so many Lourennais tourists coming to Keymon?

The answer lies in a recent dual-press conference held in Jamestown today, which saw the Lourennais Minister of Foreign Affairs Alya Cesaire and Keymon Minister of Foreign Affairs Veronica Fabiano sign the ‘Keymon-Lourennaise Free Trade and Free Travel Agreement’. The agreement outlines protocols regarding free trade, which would see the complete elimination of tariffs and would also see the improving of the establishment of business branches in either parties country. However, the main issue of note is the free travel articles. These articles have the intended purpose of making all travel between Keymon and Lourenne as quick and simple as possible. The articles eliminate the need for visas or passports when traveling between either country. This makes it one of the only times in Keymon history that the nation allowed such a policy.

The press conference however, did not end with the signing of the agreement. Both Foreign Ministers allowed the press to ask questions regarding the agreement. One of the most prolific and important questions asked was, would this agreement effect the immigration process. Mrs. Fabiano from Keymon responded with-

This agreement will fast-track the process for immigration into Keymon. On average, immigrants take 2-3 years to legally enter keymon. Lourennais citizens, whilst this treaty is in force, will most likely see that time cut down to less than 6 months to immigrate. Of course, said immigrants must assimilate to the culture of keymon, but there immigration will be fast tracked, yes.

This agreement has not been without controversy however. More conservative members of the legislative assembly have called the agreement a “plan to replace the native Keymonite identity”. The Prime Minister, when questioned on the agreement, stated that-“any controversy this brings is purely the fault of the people attempting to bring controversy to it. This agreement simply makes it easier for Lourennaise to become Keymonite. There is no evil or problem in that ideal.”

Anyone who has traveled on Keymon’s roads must acknowledge the fact that the infrastructure of Keymon is far from perfect. On the contrary, Keymon’s road and rail infrastructure has been compared to that of third world nations and of war-torn countries. This is due to the fact that Keymon’s geography is not favorable for large infrastructure projects outside of major urban areas. This geography divides the country straight through the center, keeping major population centers divided. However, following a major boost in the Ministry of Infrastructure’s budget, a 6 billion KED infrastructure revitalization project was announced.

The announcement came following rumors of a potential rework in the road network. The Ministry of Infrastructure announced through a press release that-

The Ministry of Infrastructure, in collaboration with local governmental entities, shall begin investing 6 billion KED into improving already existing infrastructure and to lay the ground work for further infrastructure projects in the future. The plan is to revitalize already existing infrastructure, which will then assist in the construction of new infrastructure, such as further road and rail networks. These plans will take a few years to implement, but will be implemented slowly as to not cause traffic or other such problems.

The current revitalization plan is a ten step program, which will slowly revitalize certain types of infrastructure, from those deemed of upmost concern to those that are important but not vital. The steps are as follows:
1. The repair of roadways throughout keymon, with the collaboration of local governments
2. The repair of railways, with the cooperation of local governments
3. The repair and upgrading of airport and other aeronautical stations
4. The repair of metro systems located within major urban areas
5. The repair of infrastructure dedicated to the extraction of natural resources
6. The repair of school and other educational infrastructure, to guarantee stable educational environments
7. The repair of prisons and other judicial punishment facilities
8. The repair of all dedicated military bases and operational areas
9. The repair and upgrading of all infrastructure dedicated to the importing or exporting of products via nautical vessels
10. The repair of all infrastructure dedicated to or relating to residential housing
