The Keymon Defense Forces have begun to be reorganized, as the Ministry of Defense adopts a total defense doctrine and strategy. The reorganization of the Keymon Defense Forces has been a major change for many military personnel as both the Home Defense Corps and Foreign Defense Corps were disbanded and merged into a single Keymon Army, with no corps for either home defense or foreign defense. This change has brought upon confusion in the military due to King Carulu, in an act of apparent realignment or possible insanity, ordered that both corps of the army be disbanded and merged into a single body called the Royal Keymon Army. This merging of both corps into the Royal Keymon Army is planned to be finished by the end of the year and the Royal Keymon Army is planned to be fully operational and combat ready within a year or two. The Royal Keymon Army will be tasked with fulfilling the goals of the Total Defense doctrine and will also be tasked with fulfilling the obligations of the previous army and both of, its now dead, corps. Whilst this change has been drastic, the Keymon Defense Forces and it’s joint operations with other allies will not be harmed, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The Total Defense doctrine, the new strategic doctrine of the Keymon Defense Forces, focuses on five main principles or pillars. The first pillar is Military Defense which’s main goal , according to the Ministry of Defense, is-“to emphasize the need for a strong Military Defence to defend Keymon when attacked or to deter foreign intervention and prevent an attack. The mission of the KDF is to "enhance Keymon's peace and security through deterrence and diplomacy, and should these fail, to secure a swift and decisive victory over the aggressor". As part of the mission, the KDF strives to maintain a high state of operational readiness 24/7.” The second pillar is focused on Civil Defense, which’s main goal is-“emphasizing the need to learn what to do in an emergency before it happens - such as taking part in emergency exercises and attending first-aid and emergency preparedness programmes that the Keymon National Gendarme conducts in order to respond more effectively in times of crisis. Looking out for and reporting anything suspicious in response to the threat of terrorism is also part of Civil Defence”. The third pillar is focused on Economic Defense, which’s main goal is-“building up a strong and robust economy that can sustain Keymon through economic challenges and national emergencies. This means that the government, employers and trade unions working together to ensure there is good infrastructure and the economy is competitive. Individuals play a part by retraining and upgrading, and by keeping up with new technologies and new ways of doing things”. The fourth pillar is focused on Social Defense, which’s main goal is-“emphasizing the need to prevent extremist ideologies and racial prejudice and discrimination to endanger social cohesion and harmony. This involves befriending, accepting and helping people of different ethnicities as well as showing consideration for one another, respecting and being sensitive to the needs and religious and cultural practices of others”. The fifth and final pillar is focused on Psychologic Defense, which’s main goal is-“being prepared for Total Defence and always keeping the fighting spirit, the will, the resilience of Keymonites that determines whether or not Singapore will overcome a crisis. This involves understanding the history and the principles that helped Keymon succeed, and having a strong resolve to stay united and keep Keymon strong and special”.
These pillars were created by the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Kazulian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defense. The pillars are considered by the Minister of Defense Antone Roccu “the most necessary and required measures. We are a small nation but we must have the fighting spirit of the largest of nations. With our allies assistance, we can win any war, no matter where we fight”. When asked on how the Keymon Defense Forces would now deploy troops to foreign locations and exercises, Antone Roccu’s response was-“we shall simply send a brigade or company if that is necessary. There’s no need for another corps for foreign operations”. The change has been met with praise by some but by others, it has been met with criticism.
