opportunities for Hobrazian labourersNegotiations are reaching the final stages between the Hobrazian Federal Republic and Luthori over a match funded loan of
£20,000,000,000 Luthori pounds (ᚻ127,000,000,000) for regeneration of Hobrazia's infrastructure following decades of tribal
conflict. The Hobrazian negotiators declared to the press on Thursday that the negotiated settlement was "undoubtedly
favourable to Hobrazian interests, will create jobs, stimulate additional foreign investment, and begin a process of Hobrazian
reintegration into the Global economy."
The big three Luthori banks; National Credit, MABC and Ward Financial; are to provide 50% of the funding at low interest, with
the Bank of Luthori set to match the investment and ensure that the funding is repaid. As part of the deal, the bulk of this
funding is to be provided to Luthori based engineering and infrastructure companies, which are to employ local Hobrazian
labourers in the construction of new roads, trainlines and electricity infrastructure.
The government has stressed that although the deal is certainly favourable to Luthori business interests as much as our own,
the conditions of the funding, plus the emphasis on providing jobs to underprivileged citizens, especially ex-soldiers, makes
the deal more than worth the tying of Hobrazia's infrastructure market to the Luthori economy. The government has also
emphasised the ability of local firms to act as subcontractors for Luthori companies, thereby providing a great opportunity
for Hobrazian businesses to build relationships with International firms. The Ministry of the Economy also predicts that the
increase in monetary circulation within Hobrazia brought about by Luthori investment will lead to economic growth throughout
the Hobrazian economy, as well as prompt private investment from international financiers.
News from the Northern FrontAdditionally to the economic investment, the deal will involve improved security cooperation between the Luthori and
Hobrazian border forces to ensure an end to arms smuggling across the border, as well as neuter the illegal sale of narcotics
into the border region. This will ensure increased security to Hobrazia, as well as neighbouring countries which are impacted
by destabilisation brought about by the Civil War. Hobrazian Army troops are to be used to guard infrastructure and
construction sites across the northern region to ensure that no attacks occur which could jeopardise the reconstruction effort.
With the Luthori investment covering government expenditure on infrastructure, funding is to be redirected to social programs
in ex-people's army settlements, as well as the continued counter insurgency campaign in the North.
