HBC NEWS

We have now entered year 2 without Andrew Johnson as King, and still no word has come stating who the nest King is or will be. Many are wondering if the Prime Minister Simon Boris Spartak Misho is attempting to remain in power and control by refusing to name a new King, whilst others who call themselves the Alliances of Democracy in Hobrazia are saying that during this leaderless time elections need to be held immediately for a Head of State. And yet a third group is calling for a new king to be crown by having the church do it. Demonstrations have since plaugued the country, although none have turned violent, Lord Hoba only knows when all this will end.

Nikoloz Shvil, Hosian Democratic Party Chairman, submitted a new bill in front of the Board Room for a constitutional amendment to initiate a series of naming reforms. Mr. Shvil's hope for the bill is to transition from the corporate dominated government and change it into something more culturally appropriate. The amendment would rename the Head of State, Head of Government, the Legislature, and all sub-national entities. This is a second reincarnation of the amendment as previously the bill failed even though it gained a majority, but did not meet the 2/3 support of the legislature.
The main opposition to the amendment will the Capitalist Party of Hobrazia, as they wish to uphold the current series of names that represent the influence corporations over the government. This disagreement will surely cause friction among the two ruling parties, but nothing two bad to break up the coalition.
"Today marks the first step towards returning the nation to the people and reducing the influence of banks and corporations over the government," thundered the leader from the stage after his proclamation. "We must stand together initiate these series of naming reforms so our nation can be more culturally representative. I hope fellow members of the Board Room you will support this and take the first step towards making Hobrazia more Hobrazian."

Hobrazian Nationalist Committee rally erupts into violence
October 10th, 4364

Hobrazian Nationalist Committee rally goers clash with the Muzal K'alak'i and Interior Ministry security forces

Muzal K’alak’i, Muzalkaz - The announcement of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee called for a rally today in the Hobrazian capital of Muzal K'alak'i and quickly erupted into violence between supporters of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee and counter-protesters and government security forces. Chairman of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee Arkady Bakhia encouraged the fighting as his supporters clashed with Ministry of the Interior security forces as well as local police forces. Bakhia called on his strong men, the two Kozak hosts that emigrated from Trigunia during the collapse of the Trigunian Tsardom and subsequent Communist inspired purges of Kozaks throughout the Brakav Oblast. The two Kozak hosts, the Astrov Kozak's and the Khorvati Kozak's swept into action with rocks, molotov cocktails as well as makeshift bats and maces, hitting at police and attacking counter-protesters who attacked the announcement of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee.

The rally was cut short as riot police began to deploy to counter the rally and the rally goers who had begun the fray. Bakhia was shown briefly on a news report saying that the rally was a success and that any attempt to "downplay" the success of the rally was "...an affront to the democratic will of the people." The Hobrazian Nationalist Committee was only formally announced shortly before the October 10th rally with a brief press conference before the leadership went to meet a crowd that had gathered. The HNC calls for a restoration of a "...federative democratic republic based on the principles of the Hobrazian, Kurassian and Kozak traditions and respect. Some speculate that the restoration of the Transarszan Democratic Federative Republic will be in the cards, a limited federative republic made up of the three distinct ethnic groups in Hobrazia.

The HNC's foreign policy expert, Henax'we Himishevy, a Kurassian nationalist has called for a total 360 degree shift in foreign policy, adopting a more structured and open fiscal policy and ensuring foreign investment. Himishevy, a Kurassian banker who sits currently on the board of the SVB (sagareo vach’robis bank’i literally Foreign Trade Bank) one of the largest banks operating currently in Hobrazia, noted that while skeptical of the "...harmful influences of the Artanian Union. We must be open to them for monetary and fiscal support. Once we achieve success in government, we will propose that the Central Bank of Hobrazia join the International Development and Stability Bank as a means to ensure a successful fiscal policy."

Foreign policy isn't the only thing that the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee wishes to restore, the Armed Forces of Hobrazia are tantamount to the success of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee's agenda. Kozak officers, Kurassian officers and Hobrazian officers have all joined the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee and have allegedly formed several paramilitary organizations, including the Hobrazian Transarszan Army and the Transarszan Front which will act as a basis for the organization of the future restored federal armed forces, making up Kozak, Hobrazian and Kurassian military units.

Anti-government militias attack parading Kozak military units

Violence erupts as Transarszan Front military units defend themselves against anti-government militias

Northern Hobrazia - International news media rarely paints an accurate picture of what life is like inside of a nation, Hobrazia is no exception. Hobrazia has suffered underneath an almost broken economy, increasing debt and incredibly violent society as ethnic tension ran unchecked. The arrival of the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee has sparked a surge of support throughout the nation for a call to order, something that the HNC desperately wish to provide. Tensions have ran high as anti-govenrment militias have attacked and destroyed several villages located in the region of Stormereti, notably in on the outskirts of Movakhdent where anti-government militias are strongest and emboldened by the lawlessness and lack of government activity in improving the domestic situation.

Underneath the heavy protection of Transarszan Front paramilitary members, Chairman of the HNC Arkady Bakhia appeared to speak as a means to calm anti-government protesters. The rally held for the HNC was cut short by a firefight that broke out while Transarszan Front milita's responded to the gunfire. Local news media is reporting that nearly a dozen insurgents were killed as the victorious Transarszan Front militia's unfortunately lost several Kozak and Kurassian fighters. Astrov Kozak military units were initially parading in area as a show of force and to show local residents that the Hobrazian Nationalist Committee was there to support them and their crusade for change. Priests of the Hobrazian Orthodox Church were also present and condemned the fighting, however one break away sect of priests called for the "Divine intervention of a new patriotic force to instill law and order into Hobrazia."

Kozak forces stand guard outside Natim military base No. 170

Natim, Deltaria - The Transarszan Front announced earlier in the evening that they had seized an outpost that had been previously taken over by anti-government militia's in the southern most region of Hobrazia, in the city of Natim. Units and formations of the Armed Forces of Hobrazia allegedly worked in conjunction with the Transarszan Front to re-capture the military base that had been captured by anti-government militia's earlier in September and the Armed Forces of Hobrazia and local security units had been unable to dislodge them. The Southern Hobrazian Army and Army Commander General Wezirmeg Huadokovy spoke to Hobrazia Today News Service press members who are embedded within the Transarszan Front. "We have captured a number pieces of military equipment, including armored vehicles and small arms that will ensure that this area is underneath control once again. We are happy to have assisted elements of the Armed Forces of Hobrazia in retaking their military outpost."

Reports are that the Armed Forces of Hobrazia allowed the Transarszan Front to take from armories and commandeer armored vehicles, including several armored infantry fighting vehicles and several armored personnel carriers. Limited reports from local army commanders deny such activities but the press corps of the Transarszan Front reported differently. One notable acquisition was in favor of the Kozak's was the acquisition of nearly 2 dozen horses, allowing more Kozak forces to become mobile.
