Terra's Orbit

In a historic mission 3 Dolgavan astronauts are orbiting Terra in a mission that Dolgava is calling "a historic moment". Yesterday at 1:34 pm local time a modified Reditus l similar to planned rocket modules for moon missions launched without delay into Terra's orbit. The event was watched by thousands of onlookers and my millions on television sets and the internet. The three astronauts Juļjāns Kronbergs, Eldijs Melngailis and Raigo Aasmae all were videoed as they made their way through Terra's atmosphere and into orbit. Once in orbit the astronauts and the country was greeted by beautiful breathtaking scenes. The space craft will spend 5 days in orbit before departing back to Dolgava.

So far the astronauts have circled Terra several times. Passing over amazing landscapes and these images have been sent back to Dolgava's many science and governmental magazines. Two Astronauts, Juļjāns Kronbergs and Raigo Aasmae even made spacewalks outside the capsule as it orbited Terra.

The astronauts also conducted an interview from their high flying craft. The leader of the mission Captain Raigo Aasmae said in an interview.

These past two days have been nothing short of exceptional. All those atlas's and those images from space are nothing compared to seeing the real thing. As a little boy I would look up to the stars. Not thinking that someday I would conduct an interview in the stars. I must say this trip has been absolutely magnificent. We have had a comfortable and cramped experience but mainly comfortable. We have taken many images of cities, landscapes and oceans all over Terra. It has been amazing to see mankind down below as we circle high above in space. It has taken a while but for me and my comrades we probably still can't comprehend exactly what is going on in a sense. It is so breathtaking, so epic, so surreal that it blows our minds away. Totally a once in a lifetime trip and I am so happy to be here right now!

The DSA director also spoke with the astronauts along with the King, Princess and Prime Minister. Also a group of schoolchildren were able to talk to the astronauts as well as hundreds of amateur radio operators across Terra.

Mr. Aasmae goes on by saying

Oh yes we have talked to many people as we have orbited. As a licensed Ham Radio operator in Dolgava I have talked in Luthorian to many people across Terra, I talked to several Kalistanis, a few Endralonians, as well as Hutorians and also Dolgavans as well just to name a few

The astronauts are also conducting several experiments that grounds crews need to future moon missions and this will be the first of several such missions to prepare astronauts for the moons, a much more daunting mission. The mission has been must watch television across Dolgava and millions from across Terra have watched live streams on the internet. In 5 months another crew will make their way here but with all missions, the first one is the most important, the most daring and the most watched event. We Congratulate the Dolgavan men that have risked their lives to further science and we wish them the best as they stay in space and make their way home!

DSA sends Astronauts Around Luna - First Dolgavan Women sent to Space!!!

The DSA and the Dolgavan Goverment have announced that the 1st mission in Mission Protinus has been a major success. At this time astronauts including the first Dolgavan women to venture into space are orbiting Luna. The crew has taken images of the moon's surface. The rocket is a modified version of the Reditus craft with a command and landing module on board. The crew is preparing to land on Luna in future missions.

The main story is the story of 30 year old Katri Kirsipuu a astrophysicist and astronaut that was selected for missions to the moon in the coming years. After 3 hard years of preparation and training she was certified and was sent with the most recent crew to the mock orbit mission. She reported from the space craft that "I would have never dreamed that this day would have come. If I had told myself I would be here when I was a little girl I would have laughed at you. This is the most amazing experience of my life". So far the crew is conducting mock tests and mainly using the command and landing modules to test out how they work and become more comfortable in them. This mission marks a new step taken by the DSA and one more step toward men, and women on Luna!

Kasper Braun Resigns

Kasper Braun has announced his resignation to the people of Dolgava. The decision came as the PM decided to retire and be with family instead of constantly working and leading the country. In a press briefing the PM said that he was proud to serve Dolgava for all these years and that he fought for Dolgava every day that he has been in public service. He has served as PM for almost 45 years. Kasper has been influential in Dolgavan politics becoming the youngest World Congress Representative and the youngest Prime Minister to serve Dolgava. The now 67 year old Braun will spend his time with his grandchildren and extended family at his home in near Hoomar Point in Northern Dolgava. His speech to Parilament and the people was as follows

Dear Citizens of Dolgava,

Today has been a long time coming. I have spent my life serving this great country and today is the day that I call it quits. I have done many great things for this nation. I have spent countless hours and days and weeks and months and years serving the people. I have come back from losses and continued to do well and to serve this nation. I have learned many things doing this job. The most important being teamwork, friendship and cooperation. Teams work better than the individual. Here in Dolgava we work as a team, as a country to do things better. We are truly leading Terra in science and with our economy. Thank You all for your support! I could have not done it without your support! Again Thank You so Much!

DSA Sets Moon Missions back to 4935

Katriin Sirel the director of the DSA has announced that the manned missions to the moon will be pushed back to 4935. This news comes after several design failures in critical launch systems and more extensive testing so that the missions are safe for the astronauts on board. The director of the DSA announced the news in a press briefing.

The Dolgavan Space Agency has worked long and hard to fulfill Dolgavan ambitions to go to the stars however like most successful organizations there are stumbling blocks. We have ran into problems that we need more time to make sure are completely fixed. In space travel one error can be fatal. We are committed to doing what we set about doing but we must do it in a safe way. That is why we will be taking extra time to go to the moon to help make sure it is a success and that everyone involved is safe

Karolina Uhlmann sworn in as next Prime Minister!

Karolina Uhlmann has been sworn in as the next Prime Minister of Dolgava. The 32 year old former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. She has been called a hardliner and more right wing than Kasper Braun and being more soft spoken than her predecessor. She won out against the favorite to win Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Director Rasa Kudarauskiene. She has been in the position for the past 6 years and has served Dolgava with distinction. Her speech to the nation after being sworn in was humble and short but full of promise and passion as well as bold plans, she said

I would like to first thank everyone for their support, even in this early stage of my career I have gotten a mountain of support from Dolgava. I would like to thank you all. Dolgava is at a cross roads. As empires, republics and major world players fall Dolgava can take one of two choices. The first is to fall with the rest of them and the second is to grow and thrive. I say we must grow and thrive. We have the potential to become the most successful country in all of Terra and I will do my best to lead Dolgava there. It is time for us to work together, to buckle down and to look to the future. We are standing at the edge of greatness, it is time for us to act. I will not stop until Dolgava is the undisputed global super power that Dolgavans have only dreamed about in the past. It is time to make dreams reality, it is time for Dolgava to shine and it is time for us to take that next step. This is my goal and I would like to invite you all to join me! King Aleksandras Passes Away, Konstanja ll to Become Queen

After a long reign, King Aleksandras has passed away. The King was suffering from terminal lung problems that he had been dealing with for around 4 years now. The 28 year old Crown Princess Konstanja ll will be taking the throne as the country deals with a financial problem. Many nations such as Yingdala and Endralon and Hutori have collapsed leaving Dolgava in a state where its trading partners, adversaries and others have been turned inside out. The Princess has said nothing about the death of her father and she has spent the day with her husband and the rest of the Royal Family grieving the loss of him. A week of mourning has been declared for all of Dolgava following his passing. We wish the new Queen the best of luck and we wish her peace during this time of loss...

In a new millennium things can and will change. However the already revolutionary Prime Minister of Dolgava, Isabel Dionte (the first minority Prime Minister in over 300 years in Dolgava), she shook Aikums, to its core when she announced her intentions of leaving the Dolgavian Conservative Party. This marks a huge blow to the historically dominant political party and will certainly create a lot of backlash in future months. The Leader of Parliament has already called on legislatures to vote a "vote of no confidence" however several senators have shown solidarity for the Prime Minister, calling the Conservatives "radical" and "too right-wing"

The Prime Minister has also announced her intention on cutting the Dolgavian Military and making Dolgava more environmentally friendly by 5050 and to eliminate gas powered automobiles being produced by that time. The new Government will be officially "non partisan" however several liberal groups have shown interest in forming a party.

The King of Dolgava celebrated his 40th birthday today at the royal palace, dignitaries from many countries. This marks his first public appearance in some time since the death of Queen Astrid last year. His two daughters were also present and "they baked their father a cake" according to the Associated Press of Dolgava. He marks the 6th consecutive monarch to celebrate their 40th birthday and marks a point where a monarch has not been overthrown in over 200 years! As always we celebrate with the King and his birthday and we wish him and his family the best during this time!

General Turned Prime Minister Olaf Polterswind seizes Power in Landslide Election, Conservatives Regain Power

The country was rocked today with a surprise resurgence of the Dolgava Conservative Party. For months they had been favorites however it was set in stone with a supermajority in the Parliament. Speaking with the press tonight General Olaf Poltetswind spoke about how the country was on a course for ruin and decay. The Liberal PM has resigned out of disgrace. Olaf will become PM tonight. His national address spoke out to all Dolgavans.

"Dolgava is weak, merely a pushover for its neighbors and a speed bump for world powers. We have seen glory, we have seen suffering. It is time for us to rise up once again brother with brother and take this country back. There will be protests however I will do everything I can to stop all those against us. If you do not want a strong Dolgava you are a traitor to this land. Now I ask all Dolgavans to join me in taking back this country, strengthening our military once again and becoming a truly great power as we have been in the past. handle is here now let's get to work!!!"

Already opponents to the PM have been silenced on social media in a new nationwide crackdown. The Government claiming they were promoting illegal activity. Many claim the election was rigged but despite this the General will be PM and will start a new age for the country.

Leader of the Conservatives Ingvards Ūdris returning to politics after a tremulous political career

In a shocking announcement former cabinet minister and moderate Ingvards Ūdris has reformed the Dolgavan Conservative Party. The party was defunct for many years and was a hard right party emphasizing return of monarchy and right wing policies. Ingvards has swung hard to the right in his policy. He said in a speech to supporters that

"The President of Dolgava is corrupt. We need change and we need to bring back what we have lost. Socialism works as well as wet cardboard, it holds its shape for a while before becoming a soggy mess. Dolgava is a soggy mess and we need to change that."

Ingvards wrote a letter to the Dolgavan Prince in exile in Lourenne and told him that the Dolgavan Conservatives support him. Already multiple military generals and minor political figures have joined the ranks of the party tired of the Socialist Republicanism future of Dolgava. This historic party has brought Dolgava through some of its best years and Ingvards said he will return Dolgava back to those days

"Dolgava is a sleeping giant. We have been to the moon, we have been a world leading superpower and I will bring that back to Dolgava. The Socialists want to ruin our country and our traditions and our freedoms. I and all true Dolgavan patriots will not stand for this! Dolgava is ours and we will fight harder than any other party to take our country back!

Pro Monarchist protests are planned for next week and no there is still no response from the Socialist government.

Right now the Conservatives will look to get a foothold in the next set of elections. For now however they will build public support and grow their base especially to rural Dolgavan voters who are much more conservative than the rest of the country.

After failed attempts to gain traction in Dolgava the Conservative Party has announced a new Leader. His name is Hilards Salmiņš, a former Defense Contractor and critic of the Socialist regime in Aikums. He attended several small rallies today getting the Conservative Party back on track. He called for reforms and the return of the Dolgavan Monarchy. He said that the Socialists had brought Dolgava to ruin and decay and warned that "if they keep power we will become a puppet of a foreign power".

Today our country is at a crossroads. Do we want to continue to keep this radical Socialist party in power or do we embrace Dolgava's history and former glory. If elected Prime Minister I will lead Dolgava back to its former glory. The Conservative Party has undoubtedly lead the country to its best days. Under our leadership we have gone to the moon. We have been a Terra leading power but now we are merely a shell of our former glory. We will be leading Dolgava into a bright future, embracing tradition and the True Dolgavan spirit. The Socialists will feel the Dolgavan people's wrath and they will not stand for long. We must rise up to take our country back and do this now!

He also criticized the former Mayor of Noversk who resigned because of corruption charges a member of the Socialist party the mayor was a leading figure in the city and country.

They are more interested in lining their pockets then they are about helping the Dolgavan people. The Conservatives will regain power and restore freedom and liberty in Dolgava once and for all. The Socialists are failures and will continue to fail!

Small scale Pro-Monarchist protests have occurred across the nation along with the rise of the Conservatives. Former King Franz Georg Il is turning 98 this year and his son Prince Sigismund lll would look to become the next King of Dolgava. For now those are all hypothetical as Dolgava continues to be a Socialist Republic. However Mr. Salmiņš and his party is looking to rain on the Socialists parade.

For now the Conservatives will look to gain small support especially in rural Dolgava where their message if successful could propel them to victory there. They will have to give an alternate vision of Dolgava to the Dolgavan people.

Estebal has been declared one of the leading members of PBG, within a Council of eleven bureaucrats, which will give the party a direction toward his wished direction, a party truly for the people, renewed Left from the Medzist shamble and against the rising Conservative Party.
