In the aftermath of Collapse: Solentia almost a year later
A new member of the National Assembly sits in on a legislative session.
Following the capture of Takhghisi in September, 4893 after several months of civil war within the country against both Majatran and Artanian elements the new government in Takhghisi is taking shape. The Ahmadi Party has retained all the seats within the National Assembly but faces upstart opposition from new parties that have formed and others that have returned to the political front. One of those notable parties is the Majatran Communist Party (Solentia) which reformed under Zwak Kirmani as the new General Secretary of the Central Committee. Kirmani has promised to ensure that the new government is held to a basic standard and begins to provide services throughout the country as soon as possible; an issue that has seen several MCP(S) members elected to Provincial Councils and District Councils throughout Solentia as well as capture a number of relatively up-and-coming mayoralities within the country. The MCP(S) isn't alone however, an upstart center-right "Republican Party of Solentia" has been formed, the party is focused on republican governance of Solentia and secularism; the United Ahmadi Liberation Front is a coalition of radical, largely Israist political movements that seek to further push the new Ahmadi Republic towards total rule by religious law as well as a dozen other minor political parties that have formed in the wake of the formation of a formal government in Takhghisi. The Ahmadi Liberation Party is comprised of religious Majatrans, the Fedayeen Emir are largely Majatran monarchist who wish to restore the Emirate of Quanzar while in the north the Majatran Socialist Ba'ath Party find themselves in a significant position of strength.
The most notable development has been the usage of the new Solentian National Army (SNA) to protect key economic locations throughout the country; notable border crossings where the Interior Ministry is attempting to deploy the Solentian National Police (SNP) to begin customs and immigration enforcement; this however is a long-term goal and the Solentian government is focused now on "law and order" on the borders. In coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Economics, the Ministry of National Defense has authorized the newly reformed Solentian National Army (SNA) to assist in securing the economic future of the nation, the largest and currently the most well funded branch of the Solentian Armed Forces. President Galat appointed General Zgard Farooqi as the new Chief of the General Staff, the overall operational commander of the Solentian Armed Forces. Members of the National Assembly have promised to deliver a new budget that addresses the new Chief of the General Staffs concerns with manpower, equipment and issues facing the new Solentian Armed Forces. General Farooqi named Vice Admiral Mairanay Khakwani as the Vice Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Lieutenant General Wadaan Hamadani as the new Chief of Logistics of the General Staff. General Hamadani, a former defense industry official within Solentia, is tasked with procuring new equipment for the Solentian Armed Forces as well as the agencies of the Interior Ministry such as the Solentian National Police. Rumors have surfaced that the Majatran Organization for Industrialization will be heavily favored in contracts due to their ties with the new Chief of Logistics.
The President of the National Assembly was asked about the new political parties in Solentia and how they would be featured in up-coming elections and he stated that the government was actively looking at welcoming them in a multi-party system.
