Solentian National Defence Forces begin offensive with Istalian supportNovember 5255The Solentian National Defence Forces (SNDF) with Air, Land and Maritime support from the Istalian Armed Forces have initiated an offensive in Thepinesne and Nalia Wilayat. With Istalian aircraft buzzing overhead, Istalian artillery firing on Jaish-e Ahmad defences and Istalian tanks pushing along main routes, the SNDF have recorded a series of victories, especially in Thepinesne. Along the eastern coast the SNDF have been able to link up with the isolated garrison Gistra, securing their foothold in eastern Dostopo Wilayat. In the centre of Thepinesne the SNDF have also liberated the city of Kisar. Gains in Nalia have been less substantial, partially due to the mountainous terrain in the centre of the Wilayat, and the river systems preventing currently preventing a push into Caistra Wilayat. However, SNDF forces, supported by the Istalians have made gains in the direction of the city of Igy. This all follows the call for
Istalian support made in the winter and the subsequent agreement by the Istalian government to intervene following the
return of the right-wing parties to power in Istalia.
Crowds welcomed the SNDF return to the city of Kisar in central ThepinesneIstalian intervention leads to a surge in recruitment for Jaish-e Ahmad and alliesAlthough it is clear in some parts of Solentia there is support for the renewed Solentian offensive, on other parts of the country recruitment in the Jaish-e Ahmad has surged. Preachers in Saspain, Dostopo and Caistra in particular have whipped up nationalist and Jihadi fury against foreign intervention. Thousands of new militants in all three Wilayat have enlisted to fight the foreign invader, particularly in
highly xenophobic Caistra.
Caistran allies od Jaish-e Ahmad prepare to resist the Istalian interventionNotably SNDF and Istalian advances into southeastern Caistra have struggled with strong resistance along the river boundary between Caistra and Nalia Wilayat. Istalian airpower has been used sparingly given the proximity of the city of Caodo to the Wilayat border.
Imminent ceasefire along northern border? While the Solentian Civil War has heated up, fighting in the north of the country has reduced to desultory exchanges of small arms fire and the occasional airstrike by the Kafuristan Armed Forces. Following
an exchange of prisoners in October, it has been rumoured that representatives from the Kafuristani government and the Ahmadi Council for Justice and Peace has begun talks to implement a ceasefire and potentially discuss the departure of Kafuri armed forces from insider northern Solentia.
