In the early hours of the morning the First Soldier empowered by the constitution and in close cooperation with the defence minister and minister for internal affairs, called a coup d'etat in the whole of Solentia. Police, military and intelligence serviced as well as the border troops acted together in bringing the country back to its conservative nature. The media and internet have been turned off by the miltary as well.
Some left-wing elements tabelled more than 10 laws to curtail the power of the military including the end of many weapons programmes within one month of its election victory. This sledgehammer method caused much anger even among the many moderate generals in the army which fear for their prestige and power and for their secrets. Together with the intended abolishment of the bank secrecy some observers also suggest that police and military leaders my be subject to judicial procedures as the left-wing elements also plans to abolish the special military and police courts which seem to protect the high ranks rather than investigate allegations of missmanagings of funds and other irregularities including human rights violations around the WMD programme. The defence and police leadership also confirmed the burning of many important papers in case the coup would not suceed.
Furthermore the First Soldier confimed also that if the military were to weakened it might not be able to fend off suggestions to cut the massive military budget which stands at around 7% of the GDP.
Additionally most of the military and police personnel thanks to decades of FNB rule are themselves member of the FNB. They now also fear for their careers should other parties get into power. Gnereally, all security forces lean more to the right than left.
Within half a day the military and police closed down all parlamantarian offices of several members of parliament and more than 12,000 people which are subjected to immidate dentention. The forces also seized the financial resources of some trade unions and left-leaning persons. A further call-up of reservists has been ordered with 100,000 men to keep order. The forces yet struggle to do so. Some veterans in fear of the pension also joined the military.
The new majority party has not approached the miltary leadership in any other way rather than conflict. We cannot accept this and can also not exercise a wait and see attitude as some elements force our hand with their sledgehammer methode. For our god and fatherland we have to act with the support of the acting government and police and border forces as well as the intelligence services.
