Heightened security in Seongtaek.IGLESIA MAYOR: The Ministry of Security & Justice has officially designated the Kyo Communist Party - Metzist-Leonidist (KCP-ML) as an illegal militant organization that is in violation of federal laws prohibiting paramilitaries. Images published by
The Truth, a communist-aligned media group, have also been documented as evidence of militant activity and the unauthorized possession of firearms. These images, supposedly originating from the Elbiana Province, have been of great interest to multiple agencies since their original appearance in an August article on KCP-ML's declaration of a "people's war."
The Ministry of National Defense, the National Police Agency, and the Public Security Bureau have launched a cross-agency initiative to gather intelligence on KCP-ML and they are also coordinating with local law enforcement agencies, particularly in regions known for active communist organizing. This combined effort will make use a wide range of resources to uncover paramilitary activities, such as satellite imagery and drone surveillance. A cryptocurrency task force has also been established to try to identify the flow of money surrounding these illegal operations. The Taegeuk Alliance, via the Black Flag Society, has started a "see something, say something" campaign that encourages civilians to report suspicious activity to the authorities. Campaign posters listing phone numbers and emails for multiple law enforcement agencies have appeared throughout Dankuk's major cities and on public transportation.
Other Happenings in the FederationMayor Lee Chong-in Dead by PoisonGONGMANGDO: Only just recently reelected as Mayor of Gongmangdo, Lee Chong-in was found dead at his home earlier this week. The coroner has deemed an undisclosed poison to have been responsible for Mayor Lee's sudden death. Further investigation is being conducted by the Gongmangdo Metropolitan Police but they currently do not have any solid leads beyond public rumors. A common theme among the rumors is the involvement of organized crime syndicates, some of which are said to have had significant disagreements with Lee ever since his original stint as Gongmangdo mayor.
Gongmangdo Conservatives Booted from Taegeuk AllianceGONGMANGDO: Greatly diminished by the controversies of the 4910s, the once all-powerful Conservative Party of Gongmangdo holds only seven seats in the 81-member Gongmangdo Assembly. An early affiliate of the Taegeuk Alliance's "united front against communism," the Conservatives have now been informed by Alliance leadership that they are no longer recognized as an official affiliate of the federal party. The Traditionalist Party, which now leads the Gongmangdo Assembly, previously submitted a petition earlier this month requesting that the Conservatives be removed due to their "unresolved issues of corruption." This may very well be the final blow to the Gongmangdo Conservatives as more of their right-wing voters jump ship, leaving for the Traditionalists or the recently founded Federalist Party of Gongmangdo.
