Coronation of Queen Victoria

Postby Alain Delors » Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:27 pm

Today, the coronation of the new Head of State, Queen Victoria I., has been held with a vast ceremony at St. Svorad Cathedral in the capital Iglesia Mayor. After the reigning monarch Cristián I. had announced his resignation due to poor health and high age, legislators quickly agreed on the Crown Princess to become his legitimate successor. Alongside hundreds of cheering supporters of the monarchy celebrating the inauguration of their new queen out on the streets, public officials paid their respects for Victoria. The heads of the three major parties, Prime Minister Larissa LeCoultre (GNP), Padrig Cadwallader (PRG) and opposition leader Zacarías Ferrado (PDM) held speeches to the visitors, among whom were many Dranish and foreign politicans as well as the members of the governing coalition. Queen Victoria thanked the party leaders for their efforts to overthrow the fascist dictatorship and re-establish the monarchy. Minister of Foreign Affairs Isabella Cuartero (GNP) afterwards held a eulogy on the retiring King Cristián I, praising his achievements and merits to the nation.

Prime Minister LeCoultre resigns as GNP Chairwoman

Postby Alain Delors » Sun Feb 05, 2012 1:24 am

GNP founder, longtime leader and current Prime Minister of Dranland Larissa LeCoultre has announced her resignation as the Chairwoman of the ruling Grand National Party. She will serve as Prime Minister for the full tenure, but will not run as the GNP's top candidate in the 3254 elections. However, she also announced that she would remain in politics as MP for her home town Santa Sharika, where she received over 70% of the popular vote in the last elections. At the annual GNP Party Convention, she thanked the delegates for their cooperation throughout the ten years of her leadership and praised the reforms conducted during her two tenures. As Head of Government, Miss LeCoultre has launched radical market deregulations, vast privatizations of the national infrastructure, industry and media and significant liberalizations in the area of civil rights. Being a republican originally, LeCoultre also spearheaded the initiative to re-establish the monarchy in 3249 and thus gained the respect of royalist voters who had always been very skeptical of her government and the GNP.

Her enduring popularity among the people of Dranland lets GNP officials hope that the party will benefit in the upcoming elections. The new Chairman of the party, Jack Caddock, who had previously served as Shadow Minister for Trade and Industry, said that the people supported the liberalizations conducted by her government and promised to maintain his predecessor's course. At the first glance, Mr. Caddock's ideological profile indeed seems to be quite identical with that of Mrs. LeCoultre, but he is known to be a firm advocate of tough law and order policies in terms of security and military, which has never been a major part of LeCoultres agenda. Some party representatives are less hopeful: Jessica Clearfield, a MP from Iglesia Mayor, fears that the GNP could now lose voters who had backed the party exclusively because of Larissa LeCoultre's personal popularity, which is way above 70% according to recent polls. However, poll numbers for the party are still quite decent, ranging from 35 to 41 percent and mostly leading its major rival, the PDM, by a couple of points. With a majority of voters still undecided, it is unclear if the GNP will maintain its position as largest party. However, it is almost certain that the governing coalition of GNP and PRG will obtain an overall majority again.

Prime Minister of Dranland Jack Caddock (GNP) has adressed the MPs of the Parliament in Iglesia Mayor in his annual
State of the Union speech. Straight at the begin of his speech, he praised the new Queen Victoria and congratulated
her for "being close to the people of this nation and their concerns". He then went on to defend the measures taken
during his tenure, such as the abolition of the minimum wage and the abandonment of border controls. "The prosperity
of our economy can only be guaranteed if there is virtually no regulation on business", he said. "It is crucial to uphold
capitalism as the best way to generate wealth and success for everyone, because there neither is no a viable alternative
nor has there ever been one. The free market is the ultimate force behind progress and improvement for the sake of our
nation and its people."

Caddock also issued religion during his speech, which he considers an ambivalent force: "Religion is, first of all, something
genuinely private and not a business of the state. The state must demonstrate religious neutrality on every occasion
by avoiding to show off appreciation for any kind of religion. This applies to all public officials, who should not be allowed
to wear religious symbols while exercising their duties." Caddock also said that this principle of religious neutrality was his
reason to vote against the recent bill submitted by the PDM and supported by PGR which would have changed this regulation
and would furthermore have made religious organizations tax-free. "I will not back down to the opposition's attempts to give
special privileges to certain faiths. It is a matter of fairness to tax them just like any other profit-making association."

Caddock closed his speech by saying that he would not run for Prime in the next elections and leave his position the next generation.

PGR Condemns Celebrations of Scientology
April 3260

Today, the leadership of Plaid Genedlaethol Rhyddfrydol came out in condemning support of Scientology. Plaid Genedlaethol Rhyddfrydol, which was started as a Welsh political party calls the idea of a holiday celebrating the religion a "slap in the face". New Thetra, a neo-Scientology party was responsible for the Welsh genocide in Dranland which saw thousands of Welsh-Dranian murdered, and the city of Mynydd Mawr destroyed.

PDM with a new leader in elections 3262
March 3261

Laura Castaneda (PDM)

Iglesia Mayor, Kingdom of Dranland - Partido Democrático Monárquico presented a new leader in the elections in September 3262 in Dranland. The National Party Congress voted for the new leader in parliamentary elections, for the first time it has become a woman. Laura Castaneda, politician and expert in finance, currently Member of Parliament was elected by two-thirds of the congress. The leader of the political party is still Zacarías Ferrado, who is going to leave a political career after the elections. He wished the new leader good luck and a better election result. The main objective for Mrs. Castadena is to stabilize public finances and economy, which is currently not good, because it is privatized to the private sector without regulation. This has a bad effect on people, as we have to intervene to more expensive.

"The Cabinet gave hands off from any assistance to families and groups of people who live in uneasy financial situations. The private sector does not protect these citizens, and the cabinet do not want to see these problems. We are not against liberalization, but not in such a massive scale," said Laura Castaneda during at Headquarters press conference. Finally, she responded to recent comments against religious groups: "We are strongly opposed to any interference of any religious or ethnic group in the country. Tradition and morality of the country is what the current cabinet do not see as important and try to make people to forget what is simply decency and common sense."

PDM pointed the increased danger near the border with Kazulia, where border controls were canceled and organized crime has an open door from abroad. Because the country has no diplomatic agreement with Kazulia, this act was very bad and has negative consequences, particularly in the safety of our citizens.

While GNP Starts Campaign for Elections of 3262, Former PM LeCoultre Fires Back At PDM Leader

New GNP frontrunner Luigi Delgado starts campaign

The ruling Grand National Party has held its annual convention at Iglesia Mayor to start the campaign for the elections
of 3262. Prime Minister Jack Caddock, who won the elections of 3254 and 3258, will not run again and presented
MP Luigi Delgado as his successor as GNP Chairman. "Mr Delgado is a competent, dynamic and eloquent politician who has all the required
skills for the job as the next Prime Minister of Dranland
", Caddock praised him. "He will defend our achievements against
the backward forces who are keen on returning to the past.
"

After Caddock's speech, the delegates elected Luigi Delgado as the new GNP Chairman with a majority of 95%. He thanked the delegates
for their support and then spoke about his plans for the campaign. "We will emphasize the economic and social reforms we have introduced
since 3246, which have created greater freedom for the people in every aspect of their lives. I promise to fight to ward off attempts to roll them back,
like the PDM is currently trying. We will do everything to avoid a return to the total control of the state and the church, which they are propagating."

In the meantime, former Prime Minister Larissa LeCoultre (GNP) had responded to the attacks of newly-elected PDM leader
Laura Castaneda, who had recently condemned the privatizations and liberalizations, which had been mostly conducted during her tenure.
Castaneda had said that "The Cabinet gave hands off from any assistance to families and groups of people who live in uneasy financial situations.
The private sector does not protect these citizens
(...)". LeCoultre retorted that "the PDM wants total control of the state over the people's lives.
We believe that we should give people the ability to solve their own problems, with greater social and economic freedoms. The privatization projects
which I had launched as Prime Minister created greater competition and eventually lowered costs for people of all brackets of income
." LeCoultre also
condemned Castaneda's call claim that "Tradition and morality of the country is what the current cabinet do not see as important and try to make people to forget what is simply decency and common sense." The former Prime Minister responded by saying that "the PDM's so-called values are in fact religious dogmas which they want to impose on the citizens to restrict their freedom. The people can think for themselves and don't need the church or the PDM
to tell them what is right or wrong
."

Minister Lee Slams Scientology

Lee Jong-Kyu: 'Scientology is manipulation'
lee.PNG (156.35 KiB) Viewed 1984 times

Minister for Infrastructure Lee Jong-Kyu (GNP) has today slammed the Scientology church and condemned the fact that
there is still a national holiday in the Elbian province celebrating the cult. Lee said that he supported the PGR's condemnation
of the church and stated that it was an 'insult to the descendants of the Welsh Dranians who have been victims
of the genocide in the 2000s to praise them'. Lee went on by saying that Scientology is not a religion, but rather a 'dubious cult which aims to manipulate
its unsuspecting followers. The state should not honour it with a national holiday or any other signs of recognition, especially since Scientologists
are only a small religious group in this country." Minister Lee, who is a member of the Kyo minority, has always been a staunch advocate
for the rights of ethnical minorities. He is also a firm supporter of the Welsh Dranians, of which he says they are 'still often victims of
discrimination.' Lee concluded that he wishes the abolition of the so-called Day of beginning the formation of the Church of Scientology on
April 26 and urged Elbian Governor Dana Hayward (GNP) to launch an according initiative in her region.

PDM reacted to the speech of the Minister of Infrastructure
October 3261

Image

PDM in a statement asked the Cabinet of this country immediately stop attacks to religious institutions. "These are strong interference in freedom and democracy. This is a true face of GNP, interfere in the rights and freedoms of our citizens. Where is your liberality? You are trying to erase traditionalism and history from our country that formed our nation for many centuries.", Laura Castaneda commented the words of Minister of Infrastructure Lee Jong-Kyu (GNP). The cabinet has already sold all state property and riches of this nation, so now try to progressively secularize our society and make an immoral world full of dirt and violence. "Congratulations, you are doing it successfully," said Laura Castaneda to the end of the speech.

Chairman of PDM Zacarías Ferrado call Lee Jong-Kyu, the Minister of Infrastructure to resign and end attacks on Scientology.
